The night was deep, Obsidian swiftly darted through the sky holding the small bluish orb within his mouth which was still mildly warm from its impact. His mind raced, continually wondering what this peculiar stone labeled 'Celestia' was. Whatever it was though, he could feel a growing power within it---something that he was not used to feeling on a regular basis. Obsidian's smokey mane fanned off from his body as his wings flapped majestically under the beaming moon. As he looked below, he noticed mists rising into the night---waterfalls were prominent in the lands he observed from on high. "Fukui...I have not been here in ages..." Obsidian whispered to himself as he descended and gracefully landed upon the shore of a river at the boarder of a great waterfall. The crashing thunderous roar of the water sent shivers up his spine---he was not used to being around water, despite his odd fascination with it. With ease, the fiery wolf gently sat down the blue celestial rock and began scanning the area---making sure the surroundings were safe to rest for the evening.

Masina always knew when there was someone new on the Fukai Waterfall lands... and thus she would always come for greetings. She flew from her perch high up in the waterfall. Baztek hadn't been around much, so she resumed staying in the damp, cold cave behind the nearly frozen cascade of water. She flew through the entrance and landed like a ghost in the night gracefully upon the surface of the lakes edge.
She looked around for a brief moment, her blue eyes sapphires within the pale moonlight, until she spotted the newcomer onto the lands. She smiled kindly, her pearly whites nearly as ghostlike as her features in the night. She padded forward and stopped a few feet from the dark brute.
"Hello. Welcome to the lands of the Fukai Waterfall. My name is Masina and I am the Betess of these lands. Who might you be?" [/b] She glanced briefly to the orb, before turning her gaze back to Obsidian. She continued to keep her kindly smile and posture while she waited for a response.[/blockquote]

Obsidian's glowing breath escaped his maw in the crisp air as he sat the blue hued object down into the light dusting of snow. While maintaining his confidence in the presence of the beautiful fae before him, Obsidian folded his wings back and bowed respectfully.
"Greetings, forgive me for trespassing upon your proud lands, Masina." he took a breath and made an effort to feel her emotions, but could not really feel anything of any significance outside of curiosity. "My name is Obsidian...I am not affiliated with any pack---I am a loner."
Carefully, the brute took a step forward, concealing the blue orb behind his front paw---hoping that Masina would not draw much attention toward the object he possessed.
"Am I permitted to seek refuge upon these lands?"

Masina smiled at Obsidian as he spoke. She paused a moment before she replied to his apology. "Fear not... no apologies needed. You're more than welcome to spend what time you need here. You see refuge, you said? You're more than welcome to join me in the cave behind the waterfall. Granted, it's slightly on the cold side, but it's much colder out here than it is in there." [/color] She smiled again and curled her tail gently around her paws. Shifting her weight ever so slightly, her golden markings caught the pale moonlight, sending a glint of a metallic appearance as the delicate rays caressed her fur. She looked calmly around, knowing Obsidian was trying to cover up the orb, so she left that area alone and concentrated her full attention upon Obsidian himself. "Take what time you need to rest up and regain strength here upon these lands. You're more than welcome to join this pack or just stay as long as you need to in order to set things straight with whatever reasonings brought you here. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask." She smiled again before she shifted her wings ever so slightly.[/blockquote]

Obsidian took a deep breath and managed to calm himself around this new and mysterious wolf. He could slightly feel her intentions and he knew that they were not hostile---leading to the fire wolf letting down his guard a bit. Despite this tinge of calm, Obsidian still guarded the precious stone with his dear life, feeling that there was something extremely powerful contained within it’s shiny exterior.
Even though the fiery wolf was protecting this orb with dedication, part of him wished that Masina would inquire its origins and what it actually was---since even he had no idea what this thing was.
Obsidian loathed being in the vicinity of any packland, after all no matter where he went he felt scorned and ridiculed. Surprisingly though, this Masina wolf seemed to treat him with respect which flattered him to an extent.
“Um…yeah…this orb…thing…do you know what it is?” Obsidian randomly asked, trying not to laugh.

Masina looked at the grayish brute. Smoke billowed off his masculine form and she was curious about this for a moment before he spoke up about the orb she had noticed at the beginning.
She glanced over to the orb and shrugged. "I wish I knew what it was, but alas, I have never seen anything like it before. Perhaps you could go to the Sacred Circle and request the help from one of the ancestors in order to inquire as to what the orb might be? That's the only suggestion I have for it.. I'm not sure of any other thing you might be able to try." [/b] She sighed and looked at him with an apologetic expression. She loved to be of help to others, and it bothered her slightly when she couldn't figure out how to answer a question she was asked. She sighed, folding her delicate looking gold and white feathered wings to her sides a little more comfortably as she sat calmly with her tail wrapped around her front paws in a relaxed manner. She held no hostility with her posture or form. She could sense the feelings of this brute and knew he was protective of the orb.[/blockquote]

Obsidian let out an elongated sigh once he realized that Masina had no information pertaining to this peculiar object. He briefly thought about returning to the Sacred Circle; however, he just came from there and really did not desire going back. His mind wandered---perhaps he had to wait and see what emerged from this object. His lack of patience in this matter really bothered him because this object seemed so much different from any phenomenon he encountered. Obsidian never witnessed anything falling from the heavens---it had to be divine!
"Here," Obsidian nuzzled the orb out from behind his paw and rolled it toward Masina slowly, "Look at it closely...is there anything familiar you notice about it?"

She looked at the orb, unsure of what to think and assuming she wouldn't find anything that reminded her of it or that it would be at all familiar, but upon closer inspection, she realized how wrong she was. She tilted her head to one side as she observed the spherical object closely.
"That's strange... I'm sure I have never seen anything like this before, but something about it is very familiar, though I can't put my paw on it. Do you feel the same way about it? Or is it just me? What do you think this is exactly? How did you come across it?" [/b] She paused for a moment, realizing she had been asking several questions and might have seemed rude. If anything, she never wanted to seem rude to anyone. "Sorry, please forgive my outburst of questions. I hope I didn't offend you or anything... It's just so strange that you should encounter an object such as this and for me to have some sort of recognition to it. If you wish to not answer any of these questions, I understand. It was rude of me to ask so many questions of such a complete stranger. Please forgive me."[/b] She hoped that he would understand that she had meant no harm and that she was generally curious, as she often was, about this orb and why it was so familiar to her.[/blockquote]

Obsidian released a slight chuckle at Masina's eagerness to apologize.
"You're alright love, I have many of the same questions---all of which I have no answers to. You needn't obsess with attempting to please me." Obsidian smirked, being able to feel her emotions through her calm and collected exterior. "Parts of me seems familiar with this orb...yet part of me is unfamiliar with it....I really don't know what to say."
Obsidian focused his empathic powers upon the orb, hoping to catch some sort of sensation or inkling of what it could be. No sooner did he touch it with his mind, an amalgamation of images blazed through his minds as quickly as the fires in which he found comfort around.
"I feel....confidence...wisdom...and a large amount of power..." whispered Obsidian with curiosity peaking in his voice.

Masina looked at Obsidian and watched as he looked to the orb to feel what it was feeling. Masina had encountered such abilities once or twice before and was always awed by those who held it.
"You're an Empath, aren't you? What's it like?" [/b] She smiled, curious in both the orb and in Obsidian now. "You see all of that from that orb? Can you see anything else from it? I guess I could try to see if there's any coherent thoughts in it, though I wouldn't know how to go about doing that. I have Telepathy... among a few other gifts."[/b] She smiled kindly and shook the fur from her face. Her hair had grown rather long and she was deciding on whether or not to find some way to trim it up a bit or not. She had never had the issue before, for she had her mother to do that, but after her past and what her brother had done, she hadn't bothered to keep track of how long her fur got. She always felt slightly saddened when she thought of her past and what her brother had done to her family, but she always quickly regained herself after the shadow would cross her eyes whenever the thought came up.[/blockquote]

Obsidian chuckled and tried not to blush---he seemed to hide his face and eyes every time he felt complimented in the slightest, he didn't receive many compliments throughout his life, so each small word of positivity helped feel better about himself.
"Well...Empathy is an amazing gift, but it can also be a curse---a dreadful curse. Some days all I feel is other wolves' emotions, hell...everything's emotions. From this orb though, all I can sense are those three distinct sensations---nothing else." Obsidian muttered on in a random stream of thought, not realizing that he was rambling on.
Suddenly, a flash of empathic sensations glazed past Obsidian' mental scope. He could feel a slight tinge of pain that seemed quite troublesome.
"I feel that you were troubled about something, honey." whispered the fiery wolf as his eyes focused upon the fae.
Usually Obsidian felt overwhelmed when he came into contact with other wolves' minds; however, Masina's mind did not render him emotionless, in fact he felt as though it was a mind he had known once in his life.

Masina looked at Obsidian as he spoke about the orb. He had caught onto her lapse of emotional barrier, but that was okay. She felt that Obsidian would understand and that things wouldn't matter if she said anything about it. She pondered a moment longer before replying to him.
"I've had a lot happen in my short life so far... and so much seems to be happening all the time. I just don't know what to make of it all." [/b] Her mind flickered to the "curse" she thought she had... how all the wolves around her and that she got close to seemed to disappear for some strange reason... she had convinced herself that this was a curse that had been laid upon her, though she was probably blowing things out of proportion... and she knew it. It still bothered her that those she got close to would disappear for some strange reason... two alphas and most of her pack had all disappeared and she had no explanation as to why such a thing had happened. She flicked her tail slightly and turned her brilliant sapphire eyes to Obsidian. Her white fur shined in the sunlight as her golden markings were a sheen of a golden streak. Her golden markings, metallic looking, yet not metal at all, glinted as she shifted her weight slightly.[/blockquote]

Obsidian could feel Masina opening her heart to him, clearly what she was experiencing greatly impacted her. Gently, the darker wolf extended his wing and placed it on hers delicately in a comforting manner.
"Through being a loner, I have come to understand that wolves will always move in and out of our lives. Truly devout pack members would always stay with their leaders." Obsidian explained kindly, wearing a slight smile due to the fact that he found a slight irony in what he said. In his opinion, that would technically make him not a devout pack member since he did not remain loyal to his parents' pack.
No sooner did Obsidian began to convey another thought, he was startled by the sudden glowing of the orb beneath him. Quickly he leapt out of the way, nearly running to the newly acquainted wolf.
Brightly the orb shined and convulsed until eventually burst into a brilliance of rainbow hued beams of light. After the light eventually diminished, all that remained of the orb was a few pieces of the outer shell and a smokey residue. More surprisingly, a small pair of turquoise hued eyes sat in the midst of the fragments, staring up at the two wolves with curiosity shining in its pupils.

Masina listened as Obsidian spoke. She felt bad for not being able to help him, but she also was even more curious as to why she wondered and felt so familiar toward this orb.
After these thoughts, it crossed her mind that maybe she had seen this somewhere before... or knew what it would become, but she was still wary and unsure of what it was exactly and what significance it held.
The orb suddenly had begun to glow and Masina had barely a chance to move out of the way when Obsidian nearly ran into her. She looked to him quickly, then returned her gaze toward the changing orbs. She was both fascinated and curious as to what had become of the orb when she noticed the small eyes that had looked upon the two older wolves... was it a pup? That's a strange way for a pup to be born. She turned her vision toward Obsidian to see what his opinion was about the strange phenomenon.

The blue googley eyes stared from Obsidian, then directly at Masina innocently. A tiny wolf sat in the midst of the pile of shards, delicate gossamer wings unfurled from her sides in the form of multi-colored swirls and lines---very reminiscent to a moth's wings. "Wow...um...I didn't know wolves were born that way....did you?" Obsidian nudged Masina with his wing, hoping to attract her attention. Cautiously, he gazed at this tiny pup. Her entire body was of white silky fur and on the sides of her back legs, a golden marking that looked like a star dimly glowed. It was almost as if this creature was born in the depths of space; however, there was just so much that Obsidian did not know, and it bothered him that he wasn't aware of this pup's origin. Another odd trait this pup possessed was a pair of insectoid antennae wiggling upon her skull between her ears and on her forehead. Obsidian had never seen a wolf possessing moth-like wings, let alone antennas as well. "Well...it looks like a wolf..."

Masina watched as the pup looked back at them. She didn't know what to do with the little pup, so she turned to Obsidian. "What do we do? That's the strangest way I've ever seen a pup born." [/b] She tilted her head to one side and thought that it might be a good idea to even see if this pup could talk. It wasn't a newborn... it was probably about the age where it could walk and exit the den, which also struck Masina as odd. Turning her head back to the pup, she inquired a question. "Hello, little one."[/b] She smiled kindly, her sapphire eyes looking into the pups eyes without a single mean thought or gesture in them. She wasn't sure what to do about the pup... she had never raised any pups of her own and hadn't really had the opportunity to interact with them much... though she had always wanted puppies of her own... the joy of being a mother. She wanted them to be her own though, and not the random appearance of a random space pup.[/blockquote]

The young newborn managed to stand up on her own without any practice, shaking the egg-like fluids from her white fur and wings. Obsidian could feel something peculiarly hopeful growing within his heart as he watched the pup rise.
He...Hello.... a voice echoed outward telepathically.
Obsidian turned and glanced at Masina with surprise gleaming in his eyes, he had never encountered a telepathic wolf before. He could feel this young pup's power not to mention her emotions as well.
Hello. the pup carefully turned toward Masina and whispered telepathically.

She watched the pup as it rose. Obsidian had heard something and moments later Masina had heard something from the pup. She smiled and replied in the same telekinetic sense to her.
Hello. Where do you hail and where do you come from? I assume you have intelligence beyond that of your years, all things considered with your abilities and your strange way of coming to the world? She smiled again as she flicked her tail and rested her glinting golden wings to her sides. She looked to Obsidian and smiled.
She turned back to the pup, wondering what else this little miracle had in store for them and unsure of what to do or what to expect. She instead waited patiently for the pup to reply to her communication. To Obsidian, this would probably seem awkwardly silent, but to Masina, it was just a simple conversation.

The tiny pup closely scanned Masina, sensing whether or not this creature was trustworthy. Thankfully; however, this wolf seemed very familiar to her. Almost as though they had experienced a life together at one point in the infinitesimal tapestry known as time. I know not who or what I am...how did you both witness my birth? Was there anything that alluded you to what I am? the small wolf inquired, seeking knowledge intuitively. Obsidian nodded as he sensed the emotions being passed back and forth between both Masina and the new wolf. Despite the fact that he could not converse telepathically, he had a good idea about what they were discussing by the various sensations they gave off. "What exactly...is going on? If you care to fill me in my dear Masina?" Obsidian inquired as politely as he could.

Masina watched as the pup showed great wisdom and quick learning. She smiled kindly to her and replied in a telepathic voice. Well, you were in a glowing orb that Obsidian here found in the Sacred Circle. You'll have to ask him more about it considering he was the one that found you. Your orb glowed and opened and you basically hatched, for lack of a better word, from it and that is how you came to be here from my knowledge. [/i] She smiled and turned her gaze toward Obsidian for a moment. "Well, we were just talking telepathically. I am assuming it is much easier for her to do so at the moment --"[/b] A brief glance toward the pup in acknowledgement that she meant no harm or disrespect "than it would be for her to speak out loud, though I'm sure with how remarkable she seems to be, she would be fully capable of doing so. She wishes to know how she came about in as much detail as possible, I would assume. She's trying to figure out some things about herself and I believe you might be the only one that can really give her answers, considering you found her."[/b] She smiled kindly to Obsidian and turned her gaze back toward the pup with a genuinely kind smile.[/blockquote]
