The pup laughed happily, prancing and pawing up at a butterfly in the air. The butterfly fluttered, it's red and black wings beating profusely to try to get away from the female. However, it was close to succeeding, but didn't. The right paw of the pup lashed out and snagged it, bringing it to the ground. The pup's orange lit eyes went close to it, then gave a few sniffs. After gazing at it, she brushed her paw lightly over it. As if by magic, it lifted up off the ground, fluttered it's magnificent wings and flied away. The pup watched it go, sitting down, not realizing she was on the border of another territory.
Who would know? How would she know?
The sound of running water pleased her ears, and her tail started to wag a bit. The sun was shining high in the air, reflecting off the orange splatters on her midnight black pelt. It made shimmers on her pelt, and the swirls that were inscripted in it was noticable. The pup stretched out her muscles, her claws unsheathing then resheathing. Afterward, she gazed around, and decided to wander some more. "Maybe some butterflies are around..."
Laughing, she bounced off, her good nature showing greatly to this new world. For a five month old, she seemed rather intelligent, and just something about her was different. Inside, her heart was beating, and her mind was racing. Thoughts poured into her head, and her stomach suddenly grew warm... Yes, this was her power. Love. That heart of hers was warm, telling her that love was around. True, unmistakable love, but she didn't know where. Determined to find out, she ventured into the unknown territory further. "I'll find you..."
The sound of rushing water grew nearer, and she bounced on top of a log. If you remember from the Lion King, at the end, how Simba stood on top of PrideRock all high and mighty, this is how she was on top of that log. High, strong, with the occasional breezes ruffling through her unusual pelt. Laughing, the joyful glee apparently known for the whole world to see, she leapt off the log. "This is so much better than home!"

Snippet cautiously stuck her head out of the den she shared with Riptide, golden eyes blinking sleepily in the sunlight. She inhaled deeply, sifting out the scents in the air as she identified them. Grass, flowers, Riptide, trees, water, dirt...summer smells. Wonderful smells. Snip loved summer, loved the way the almost-constant sunlight made her feel sleepy and warm and safe. But it also made the other wolves frisky, which Snip didn't like; it was harder to remain small and unnoticed when everyone else was so active. She couldn't hide as much during the summer, or avoid talking to other wolves. Rip said it was good for her, and while Snip adored her foster father, she disagreed with him on that point. Other wolves were scary. Period.
But she couldn't hide in the den forever, and the sun was calling to her in a voice she couldn't ignore. Sadly, she couldn't go out with Riptide; though she spent most of her time following the older wolf like a second shadow, he was out somewhere today, gone when she woke up. So she was on her own. Rather than stick around the Fukai dens and risk running into other wolves, Snippet decided to go out for once and wander the vast expanses of the Fukai territory.
She slunk out of the den and into the nearest tree shadow, relying on her dusky charcoal coat to help her blend in. Slipping into the trees, she padded along on her too-big feet, for once glad of their size; she made almost no noise when she walked. Under her paws she could feel the cool dirt of the forest floor; she loved it. There was nothing like that feeling in the world, really, except maybe the feeling of Rip's warm side pressed against hers as she slept curled up next to him.
Eventually, her aimless wandering brought her to the waterfall, the main attraction, so to speak, of the Fukai territory. Something about the rushing torrent brought peace to the young wolf's troubled heart; this was the one place she could actually physically relax. when she listened to the water run its turbulent course, the sound soothed her, encouraging her to lay her head on her paws and close her eyes, simply listening, as she did now.
But today an alien sound intruded on her peace; there was another wolf nearby! Snippet sprang up at once, her body rigid as her fear instinct set in. Frantically, her eyes darted back and forth, looking for a place to hide. She hated meeting other wolves without Riptide to hide behind. When the stranger came into view, Snip relaxed imperceptibly; it was a young wolf, a pup, really. But another moment and confusion replaced fear. This pup was a stranger, not of the Fukai pack. What was she doing in their territory? Didn't she know that intruders might be killed if they were caught? Snippet was torn between running to get Tide or staying and investigating. She knew what Tide would want her to do.
Sighing, she crept forward, into plain view. She was tense as she watched the youngling playing by the river. Taking a deep breath, she called out, "H-hey. What are you doing here?" Okay, so not much of a start, but it was good enough, right?

Haven wondered out of his den at a very slow pace. He had awoken by himself, Keith having already left. Of course he flipped like any bonded male would seeing as he had spent day and night with her since they had met. With the exception of hunting, oh course. He was always worried about her, afraid that something were to happen to her when he wasn‘t around. You couldn‘t blame him though, he was strangely attached to the fae.
His large paws made little to no sound as he padded his way toward the entrance of the community dens. The sun hit his eyes with such force that he had to squint them quickly, stopping them from watering. It was odd to be up at this time of day. He had become such a night owl since Kei. With her glow, it really was impossible to sleep at night. His massive size formed behind the giant waterfalls as he stretched his large white, blue flamed, wings. With two quick steps and a leap, his large form parted the water and he took to the sky. He was easily three times larger than the average wolf, thanks to his father, but he flew with such grace that it really was unbelievable.
Haven‘s large crimson eyes adjusted to the sun light as his nose twitched at all the scents. He smelt the new fae that Tide had taken in. He hadn‘t talked to Tide much since the whole Kei and him thing happened. He was so intent on hooking Tide up with Kei… and yet he fell for her instead, and hell they were even going to be mates soon. Ah, hell. Haven shook the thoughts from his mind as another scent crossed his nose. It was another wolf… a female he thought. His large eyes narrowed and he caught sight of both Tide‘s fae and the new one.
Quickly, he lowered himself behind the two, his shadow blocking them from the sun. Noiselessly, he landed on the ground and folded his wings to his sides. Placing a smile on his large maw, he hoped that he wouldn‘t scare them off. What a beginning to his day if he did. ”What are you two young faes up to?” His voice was low but sweet sounding, much like it was most of the time.

The young pup yelped in joyful glee, smashing onto the plants below her. chuckling, she pawed at them, her orange eyes blazing with complete happiness. Nothing could ruin this moment, nothing. However, this feeling she was starting to get... She knew she was somewhere where she would not be welcomed with open arms. That muzzle of hers took a few sniffs of the air, and her eyes grew wide. Knowing her past, she mumbled to herself, "Territory..." Mumbling, her ears stayed up and she gazed around the forest, trying not to relax. The rushing water wasn't helping any; that sound was so soothing, her muscles couldn't help but loosen. It was like a trap, this place; this paradise, in her eyes.
Shaking her head, she scanned the area one more time. That uneasy feeling did not leave her tummy; she was extremely anxious, and this intelligent five month old with an enormous amount of curiosity wanted to find out why. A sound from the right alerted her, and a soft growl came from her. It wasn't that intimidating, but her figure was enough to scare off anything that was offense; have you seen how big she is? Anyway, she glared towards the direction, her muscles growing tense. She ignored the sound of the rushing waterfall and focused on the task at hand. After a few moments, she saw a rather... funny looking female wolf move forward. The glare went away and she cocked her head, her power coming into play. She couldn't help it at all; it came when it came. She couldn't control it. The wolf was... afraid. Why afraid? Blinking a few times, she realized she was no threat. Just a wolf being cautious, which she should be.
"H-hey. What are you doing here?"
Blinking a few more times, the pup sat down and put on a wolf smirk. What a cute, big muscled five month old female pup, isn't she? "I chased a butterfly, I'm sorry. Am I not allowed here?" Wow. Such classy words from a mere pup. Cocking her head to the right, her ears twitched, and her tail flopped from side to side. Curiosity was a big thing in this pup, as much as determination. "What's your name? I'm Raichu, but you can call me Splatter." Chuckling a bit, that wolf smirk stayed on her muzzle, and her tone was light and feathery, but not air-headed. She was far from that.
Another sound and smell came to her. The feeling about the female wolf disappeared and was replaced by something larger, truer. Those orange hues dashed behind her, and she saw him. That feeling was coming from the male wolf; her heart felt fluttery and warm. The ancient power of love kicked in again. What was it today? Seriously? This thing just wouldn't shut off, but the pup enjoyed the company. It's been lonely, and she smirked, even though she wasn't quite fond of male wolves. No, no, that's a lie. She liked them, liked their company, but not in an attractive way. It's just one of those things that tends to happen. His wings and his sized was what made her in awe; he was friggin huge! Chuckling, her paws went up and down in excitement, happy, like she was before. I told you, nothing can ruin this happiness.
”What are you two young faes up to?”
Blinking a few times, she gave him her cute, yet intimidating wolf smirk. "Well, I was chasing a butterfly, but then she came along." She pointed her muzzle towards the other female wolf. "I like your wings. They're friggin huge! I want some now." Laughing, she got up and bunched up her muscles. Of course they grew twice their size, but hey, you can't complain. Quickly, with accelerating speed, she leapt up and pretended to paw at a feather. Laughing, she landed on her butt and her ears twitched.

Snip saw the young wolf before she herself was spotted, giving her time to look over the pup and get a visual impression of her. She was small, as befit a pup, but heavily muscled. Her body was built on solid lines. Glossy black fur rippled over defined muscles as the youngling batted at plants and watched the water fall away beneath her log. The bright orange splotches that patterned her pelt stuck out starkly against the dark background. Her eyes were a similar color to the orange in her fur, and shone with an intelligence not often found in wolves so young. Snip watched her quietly, her golden eyes taking in everything the energetic pup did with a cautious gaze. Her body was still tense, but maybe not quite so tense as it had been. The young one didn’t look like such a threat…
Snip noticed the moment the pup smelled her there; her muzzle lifted and she turned her head in Snippet’s direction. A los growl escaped her throat, and Snippet stiffened at the sound, dropping into a frightened half-crouch. Her ears flattened themselves against her head, her tail coming up under her belly in a cringe. She eyes remained locked on the young wolf, but she was careful not to make eyes contact lest that be viewed as a threat. When the strange wolf’s fire-colored gaze fell on snippet, though, the growl ceased and her head cocked to one side curiously. Snippet’s ears pricked forward again and her tail relaxed, but her belly was still low. She was nervous around any wolf, even those she knew, and strangers just made it worse. It was part fear of offending and part fear of confrontation. Add to that her naturally shy nature and the fact that she’d been killed twice by strangers in previous lives-that she could remember- and it was really no wonder she was so skittish. It might seem odd that she would be frightened of a wolf younger than herself, but you have to remember that Snip is a small wolf- the pup was already almost as big as her, and probably stronger.
A sort of grin came over the young wolf’s muzzle, and Snip cautiously lifted her head, her tense position relaxing a little now that the new wolf was obviously not mad or threatening her. After all, this was Snippet’s home territory, right? She should be in charge here. And this pup seemed friendly enough- at least, Snippet sincerely hoped she was.
When she spoke, it was with a friendly enough tone that Snip’s tail waved once with a sort of hopeful air before falling still. She had to smile in response to the pup’s simple statement. Chasing butterflies. Of course. That’s what pups did, right? Snip couldn’t really remember; being born in summer as she had been hadn’t given her a lot of time to be a pup. She was grown, inside at least, by the time winter was over. She looked up, almost meeting Raichu’s- what an interesting name, Raichu- eyes. ”I’m Snippet,” she answered shyly. ”This is Fukai pack territory; the rest of the pack probably won’t chase you off, since you’re young, but you might want to be careful.” Her tail waved slowly. Maybe being with other wolves wasn’t so scary after all…
A movement behind Raichu caught her eye, and she looked up in time to see a huge shape soaring towards them. Instantly, Snip dropped to the ground, shaking in fear. After a moment, a thud told her whatever it was had hit the ground, and she looked up nervously to see Haven, one of the Fukai males. He was easily twice as big as any of the other wolves, and Snip had been afraid of him just because of that since she first saw him. She’d never really spoken to him, since he and Riptide didn’t talk a lot, and Snip stuck to Tide. His size was enough to keep her from approaching him on her own.
When he spoke, she glanced up at him for a moment before looking back down. She scuffed the dirt with her paw. ”Was just wandering the pack lands, Haven sir,” she mumbled shyly.

Riptide decided to get out early this morning. Now that he was a foster dad he felt weird leaving Snip by herself in the den. She didn't like to be separated from him, and she was nervous about being around other wolves. He stood beside the waterfall right inside the cave. Mist from the cataract was covered his pelt with glimmering drops of water. Tide gave a last look at Snippit before padding out of the cave into the territory of the Fukai Waterfall Pack.
Outside of the den the woods surrounded him. Scents flooded his nose, and birdsong filled the air. He paused for a moment to look around at the green leaves, knowing that soon nature would be putting on it's colorful show. Fall was Riptide's favorite season, for a few reasons. He blends in better with the undergrowth and fallen leaves, it's not too hot or too cold to play outside, and Tide loved to jump in piles of leaves.
'I'll have to return to the den soon to check on Snip.' He thought. Riptide was about to turn around when his "Fatherly" instincts kicked in. Riptide turned and raced back towards the cave, there were other wolves around and if she was in danger they would most likely help. He felt like he was flying over the land scape, but for all he knew, he could be worrying over nothing. First, the sound of the waterfall that protected the sanctuary came into earshot. Then he could see it and the scents of many wolves poured into his nose. Tide stopped taking a few deep breaths before trying to pin point Snip.
It didn't take him long to find Snip, she was above the roaring falls with Haven and a new wolf that has wondered onto our territory. He sniffed the air again...the mysterious wolf was just a young fae. He wasn't as worried now that Haven was there, but his sheer size probably frightened Snip, so he didn't take his time to get to the top of the falls. When he was able to peer over the top Snippit was crouching down and the unknown fae seemed to be having some fun with a feather. Riptide chuckled at the newcomer, she was pretty funny. He finally spoke to Haven. "Hello there." He said smiling. Then Tide turned his head to Snip and padded over to her. The brute curled his tail around her small frame and pressed her against his body, hoping that she would feel more comfortable now that he was around.

Haven placed a small smirk on his maw as the orange splattered pup began talking to him. She talked so huge for her little body, like she wasn't afraid of anything. It was cute, he had to admit. His large wings twitched as she got a small running start and jumped, attempting to hit one of the feathers. He let out a low chuckle and grinned, "I'll give you a ride some time. How's that sound." He lowered himself to the ground onto his stomach so he was at thier level. "I'm Haven by the way. What might your name be?"
Haven cocked his large head to the side at Snippet as she seemed to cower. He never really did have the chance to speak with her... and she seemed to stay away from him, but what was he to do about that? She seemed to cower away from everything... except Tide that is. Licking his lower teeth slowly, he smiled, "Snippet, smile, relax, nothing is going to hurt you while you're with me or Tide, alright? But be careful wondering around by yourself." He offered her a grin before standing up and stretching casually.
Haven's head spun around as his nose caught the scent of Tide. His voice caught his ears quickly and Haven's maw twisted into a crooked smile, "Hey there, Tide. Haven't talked to you in awhile. How've you been?" He looked over toward the young orange splattered pup and smiled. She was adorable... He'd have to introduce her to Kei if the pup stuck around.

”I’m Snippet. This is Fukai pack territory; the rest of the pack probably won’t chase you off, since you’re young, but you might want to be careful.”
Blinking a few times, she wondered if she ran into a hostile pack. Why? Why would they chase others away? Well, she knew, deep down, but wolves need chances. You can't give them a chance if you just chase them off. It didn't make sense to the female pup, but she pushed it out of her mind for now. "Snippet? That sounds cool!" Laughing, her attention turned when the female wolf got all shy and nervous when the big brute came along. Raichu's head moved back a bit, confused by her sudden submissity.
Those orange hues turned towards another direction, another feeling entering her body. It pulsed, and each time it did, it sent chills down her spinal cord. Another strong feeling... On cue, another male wolf came out, and this time she figured it was Snippet's father or something. It seemed like it, since he was staring at her like crazy. The young pup watched as the wolf walked over to Snippet and curled his tail around her.
Yup, definitely daughter and father.
A small wolf smirk came to her, happy for the two of them. Inside, though, she felt somewhat lonely; a five month old without a mother or father. It didn't matter; her cockiness told her she was an Outcast, she can take care of herself. Laughing a bit, her tail flopped from side to side, and her eyes watched a butterfly zip away. She wanted to chase it, but it would've been rude to leave the three of them here without her. Besides, she was invading, so she had to make a good impression.
"I'll give you a ride some time. How's that sound." Nodding her head, she watched the brute named Haven lay down to her level, and she felt small. Well, small enough for him anyway. She was pretty damn big for a pup, a female for that, but still around him she felt as tiny as an ant. Maybe it was the muscles and wings; who knows? "I'm Haven by the way. What might your name be?" "I'm Raichu, or Splatter. Haven; that sounds like Heaven! Did you come from there?" Such a pup with an enormous amounts of questions. "My mother always told me that good wolves come down from there to teach the evil packs a lesson. Are you one of those good wolves? You look like it! With your big wings." Laughing, she pawed at another feather, her muscles flexing and bulging. Those orange hues also took notice of how Snippet was around Haven, and how Haven was trying to comfort her. She never... knew this feeling that was now in her. It was some type of love; but it was more family-like. She enjoyed it, greatly, and wished it would never go. So this is what it feels like to have a true family... She caught Haven's eyes and smile, and she smirked back. Wow, he was a father figure, you could tell. Without thinking, she decided to blurt out, "Do you train* here? I mean, uhm..." Couldn't keep her mouth shut for a minute. "Well... nevermind." A smirk was returned to Haven, but not a smile. The young female hardly ever smiled, even when she laughed. *Look at her history to find why she said "train".

Snippet didn’t look up at first after speaking to Haven. It wasn’t that she was scared of him, per se; well, actually she was scared of him, but that wasn’t the only reason. Snip had a deeply ingrained sense of pack order. She was a subordinate, barely out of being seen as a pup. And aside from that, Snip had only been with the pack about six months. She knew it was by the grace of Riptide and the Alpha pair that she was even still here. Because of that, she was very careful to show proper respect to anyone in a higher position than her- and that included keeping her head down around a wolf of higher rank. Part of that was her painfully shy nature, but mixed in was a healthy dose of rank awareness. She hadn’t quite realized yet that in Fukai pack, the members were wolves first and ranking members second, treating everyone equally.
Therefore, when Haven spoke to her softly and kindly, she was startled into looking up at him. Gold eyes met crimson for a brief moment before she ducked her head shyly, but a moment was enough; she saw the gentleness in his gaze, and she began to relax a bit. She didn’t understand why, but it was clear he cared about her. That confused her somewhat; after all, she hadn’t even really spoken to him much, but it still made her feel good. She shot him a quick, soft smile. ”Thank you, Haven sir, I’ll remember that.” She decided right then that maybe she would add Haven to the lst of wolves she didn’t avoid on sight.
His comment about not wandering alone, though, didn’t make sense to her. Obviously she wasn’t going to leave Fukai territory without another wolf, but within the land of the waterfall pack she felt as safe as she ever did. None of the wolves she would meet in the territory would hurt her; they knew her scent and recognized her as a Fukai. And though she’d gotten lost a few times since she’d joined the pack, she could always find the scent of another wolf who’d passed that way and follow it back to the falls. She knew her way around fairly well by now, and was confident enough in that knowledge to occasionally strike out on her own. But, she figured Haven wouldn’t warn her without good cause, so she filed his warning away for the next time she went out exploring.
When Haven stood, Snippet couldn’t help but flinch back from him. Again it wasn’t a fear reaction so much as a self-preservation one; he was so big for a wolf, and Snippet so small, that her body told her she needed to move. She was still a little wary of his sheer size- she had a vague memory of a big wolf killing her in at least one previous life- but was finding that Haven himself, she liked. His kindness was…it was nice. He felt safe. In theory, she knew her shyness kept her from meeting perfectly nice wolves, but until now she’d never had that proved.
Snip was distracted from her thoughts by the arrival of a very familiar scent. Its affect on Snippet was immediate; her ears pricked up, her tail wagged, her whole body stood straighter even in the presence of Haven’s hulking form. She swiveled her ears, searching for the sound of an approaching wolf. There it was! She turned towards the sound, tail wagging full speed now at the sight of her favorite wolf.
”Papa Tide!” Snippet didn’t bother to try to conceal the grin of pure happiness that spread across her muzzle as Riptide approached. She absolutely loved the light-coated, lighthearted wolf who’d saved her life and adopted her into his own. When he came over to her, she nosed his cheek affectionately, leaning into him as he wrapped his tail around her. Pressed to Tide’s warm side, she wondered if there was a safer, more comfortable place on Aelyn. If so, she couldn’t imagine what it was.

Jealosy pricked at Riptides' pelt. He still wish that he was able to love Kei, but he quickly pushed the feeling away. Kei was happy and that's all he wanted to know. "I've been real good, Haven," he began. "but I have been keeping my paws full with this little one." Riptide smiled and looked down at Snip. The bright-hearted brute was to have a pup that he could call his own, even though she wasn't his real kin.
Tide looked over at the pup that looked like she had paint splattered all over her. This pup looked older than she was, he knew that she would make a great warrior of Fukai. The younf fae piped up. "Train?" Riptide wondered out loud. He wasn't going to press the pup for questions, he didn't want to make her feel like every wolf in the pack was nosy.
The way Snippit always said "Papa Tide." was soothing to his ears. The brute leaned down to his step daughters level. "Your doing much better with meeting other wolves." He whispered in a soothing tone. "How about after this we go on a wolk through the woods with another owlf us?" he questioned. "How does that sound?" He tilted his head a little bit to one side. "And you get to choose the wolf that comes with us." Riptide let a small smile cross his face. He knew that Snip didn't know many wolves in the pack, and if she has seen them, she most likely would've cowered away. This walk through the woods was part of Riptide's "training" to get used to other woves.

Haven allowed a small smirk to play on his lips as the pup he now knew as Splatter, began to question him, as well as play with the feathers of his wings. Heaven? Did he, Haven, come from Heaven? His smile slowly faded. With parents like Lucid... he wasn't so sure he was allowed into the after life. But then again, there was Masina, and she shared just as much DNA with him as he did. And Haven was much more like his aunt than his father... so maybe he would be okay? So much confussion from one silly statement. Haven quickly cleared his head before placing a smile back on his maw and looking at Splatter, "I don't know so much about the Heaven part, milady, but I'm definitely hear to protect the pack. So you could say I'm here to teach the bad packs a lesson." He offered her a soft wink before turning toward a speaking Tide.
Haven nodded in a respectful manner toward the brute, care showing in his eyes. He thought of the brute like a brother.... "That's good to hear, Tide. I'm glad Snippet ended up with you. You really are great with her." He offered a soft smile to the both of them. He couldn't see himself as a father... the fear that his pups could end up like his siblings... have the one recessive gene that would turn them into his own father. He couldn't risk it... he wouldnt' risk it. Looking down at Splatter, his eyes twinkled. That pup belonged in this pack. And he would make sure she ended up with excellent parents.
Licking his maw softly, he stretched his rump in the air and let out a small yawn... which would seem like a rather large yawn to anyone smaller than himself. Shaking his large head and let a small crooked grin fall on his maw and looked back toward Tide, "Later today, Tide, you feel like going hunting with me? We're slightly low on meat and we haven't hunted with eachother in quite some time." Haven looked toward Splatter and nodded, "I think we should probably introduce this young lady to the alphen pair though, what do you think, Splatter? You want me Zephyr and Cinder?"
