xCallion The sun set on the horizon and gave way for a moonlit night. Few clouds were in the sky as the wind blew with an icey breath. The winter had been gone for only about a week now. The air smelled of spring, the smell of flowers and new prey. The sound of water and the chirping of birds as they went to their nests filled the night air. The moon was just a sliver of ivory light in the sky. Like a sideways smile. Somewhere in the distance a whip-or-will called long and sadly to its lost lover. This night was just a mirror of all other nights in this vast plain. The only thing different was the flowers that flowed every which way with the grass. It looked like a coat that was being ruffled by wind. The colors contrasted and blened togather in the shadows of the night.
A soft sigh came from a great brute that was seated on a boulder in the midst of it all. The light from the moon, what little it gave off, illuminated his figure in the night. His great head was looking over the plain, over hills and valleys to the spot were the sun dissappeared. A burst of ice cold wind hit his muzzle as he sat there. He blinked it off and made his way off of his perch. He lept to to the ground and landed quietly. A soft whistle came from the antlers atop his head as the air ran through them.
He began walking towards the distance, his huge body like a boulder in itself. He was nothing to be afraid of though, he had nothing to hide. Any wolf could be intimidating, no matter how small or large. All wolves have either their bark or their bite. This brute on the other hand, just had the looks. He never tried to bark a big game, and never wanted to fight. Just don't try and tell any other wolf that. They wouldn't beleive you, he's tried. His lone shape in the distance was outlined in the black of darker shadows around him.
He had always walked alone. Ever since he had left his pack because of the fight. Nothing could change what had happened or what he was. He hoped though...That maybe, just maybe. He could find some one to accept him as who, or what he was. He was tired of the stares and avoidances. Tired of being alone. He needed a companion. Someone that would be with him by choice, not by fear or for sole protection. The fact was the he was lonely. He wished upon the company of others. Anyone. Anything.
He sat on the top of another, higher hill. His ice blue eyes full of longing and knowing of hardships. His eyes were fixed on the horizon, body firm to the ground, but his mind went dancing with the stars. Wishing upon them that something good could come his way.

She had finally made her way away from the crazy wolf known as Harlequin. She wondered if that wolf had ever been right in the head. And what was with her? Kila didn't care... she was on her own again, much like she always had been, and continuing to tread through the lands of the Kumori Plains. Life hadn't changed much... she was still alone and without any real friends, though this had come to be an everyday thing that she had grown all too used to.
She padded forward, easily knowing where she was going, even though she had a blindfold over her eyes covering them so she couldn't see through them... but that didn't matter. She never tripped, she never wavered in her step... she walked just as well as any other wolf that would be out there. Her large ears scanning the terrain for any sounds of approach, her acute nose catching the scent of everything that happened to be upwind of her, her large paws... seemingly too large for her body, gracing the lands without a faltered step.
She had been following the scents of the many wolves that traversed these lands and decided to follow the scent of a singular wolf that had caught her attention. She figured a little company would be a good thing and followed the feel of the vibrations of his pawsteps. She was very good at tracking, despite her handicap. Her long tail was waving out behind her and her slender, almost malnutrition looking body, was small against the grasses that were only a tinge lighter than her forest green fur. Her paws matched perfectly the color of the dirt beneath her feet and the texture of the trees that so rarely graced the plains.
She slowed her pace as she came up to the brute she had been following merely for entertainment and company, and sat. She wasn't normally one to make the first move, that, and where she sat was in sight of him, but was played off as if she had no idea he was there and that she was just resting or sitting, enjoying the night.

Callion was dreaming of a place that was far from here, or near he didn't know which where he had a family. Imagine. An actual family. They didn't hate him for being him they didn't judge him. Actually they were all kind of like him, judged and stared at. Oh, they were all different of course, but they all had the same story pretty much.
A smell wafted into his nostrils and he noticed it was of a fae. He didn't move, didn't stir or anything. Just brought his mind back down to earth silently with a blink. The fae was getting closer 'Probably just doesn't see me...' he thought to himself sadly, most of the time when they did see the big brute they turned the other way. He just sat boulder-still and looked up at the stars. He let a sigh out between his fangs that sounded more like a whistle and waited to smell the fae's scent go away.
Amazingly though it didn't. This astonished and confused him. He turned his great head to see a small slender fae with...something... over her eyes. What was it? She seemed to know where she was going alright. His blue eyes followed the fae in amazment as she sat infront of him without a word. How odd! Here he had been for awhile now and not seen hide nor hair of anyone and a fae walks up acting like he wasn't even there! What was she doing? 'Hmmm....'
All of a sudden curiosity got the best of him. "What are you doing? I mean, you just waltz up and sit down without a word! You came out of nowhere too..." A hint of amusment was in his deep vocals, he wanted to ask why she had that... whatever it was over her eyes. He thought that would have been a little too forward though.
His blue eyes glistened with curiosity and a sense happieness as he tilted his head to the side and studied this wonderfully odd little female as he awaited his answer.

She flicked her tail and her large ears when he spoke up. It wasn't her nature to speak first to others normally. She turned her head to face the brute, her more than slender nose catching a big drift of his scent. She flicked her tail and looked, seemingly, directly at him as she proposed her reply.
"I don't know what you're talking about. Does it look like I saw you here?" She often poked fun at her own handicap only because it was something to do and that she really didn't feel bothered by it unless she was treated differently because of it. She shrugged her shoulders. "Well, since you're here, what are you doing all alone? How did you get all the way out here? Mind you, I'd be careful... there are some crazy characters around here." She sounded like she was speaking from experience, and in all reality, she was. She curled her long tail around her paws and sat quietly and calmly, the dirty white bandanna that was around her head, more like a sleeve than anything, facing directly at the brute who had spoken to her.[/blockquote] ((Minor writers block.))

The little fae didn't take any crap that was for sure. He chuckled on the inside, she was a little ball of fire. He lowered his great head so that it was level with hers but they were still as far apart. Ah! But I never said that you saw me little one, it is apparent that you didn't. You should have smelled me though, for the wind is blowing towards the way you came. He gave a mischevious smile.Unless, of course you were not aware of your surroundings.
He raised his head back to it's usual level and stood up. Shakeing his great coat and stepping back a few paces he sat down again. He laid sphynx like so that his head was the equivelent hight of hers. Bending over to look her in the face was not that appealing and he was sure she meant no harm to him.
As for the other question... I have been alone for a long while now. Alot of other wolves are afraid of me because of my size and looks. He had a great sadness in his voice. He had been alone for a long time. Too long. You, my friend, are the first to come and talk to me in a very long time.

She listened to him and "saw" him move his head to her level, and then shortly after sit sphinx style in front of her. His form then faded slightly as the only movement that seemed to come from him was the beating of his heart and his slow breathing. She turned to face him, sitting calmly before him and flicked her tail.
"Of course I smelled you... But just because I smelled you and knew where you were, doesn't mean that I have to talk to you, yes?" Her voice was cool and not intending to be rude, its just her nature and her way of responding. "You're not the only one to have people avoid you.." She had been a common avoidance since she escaped from the humans. She was the result of a scientific experiment and animal testing to enhance animals to use as weapons... humans were the cause of her blindness, but they were also the cause of her other way of seeing. She sighed to herself and flicked her tail calmly as she thought to herself. She didn't see anything overly wrong with this brute and he seemed to be respectful enough, but she wasn't about to warm up to him so easily. She had been shunned and disrespected so many times that she was very distant and often times calloused when it came to joining others or conversing with others even. She sat calmly.[/blockquote]

Ah, no you don't although, it is polite and you would not want to upset a wolf that you have your back to. His eyes caught some movement out to his right. He turned his head to look and saw a young deer out grazing ontop a hill. He felt his stomach tighten as his muscles did. He hadn't eaten in about two days now... He thought it rude to eat while he was speaking to someone, but he was big and it took alot of energy to lug his big hide around.
He looked back to her. He urged himself to speak. Do you mind if I... He looked back towards the deer. Her back was to him now. Do you mind if I go catch me some food? I know its rude and I'm sorry but I'll share if you too are hungry. It wasn't that he felt sorry or anything for her for the cloth being on her head, she seemed to do fine with it on. He bet she could run one hell-of-a-lot faster than he could.
A star fell behind the faes head as he noticed he was offering to catch food for her and didn't even know her name. His tail flicked side to side as he waited for her answer. ((Sorry it took so long and its so short >_< ))

She listened to him and heard his stomach growl slightly. She had caught the scent of the deer already when he brought it up and she smirked. Her stomach was empty as well and deer sounded good to her. She wondered if this brute had ever seen a blind wolf hunt before? She loved to show that she wasn't as meager and weak as she seemed and that she could easily take care of her own.
She knew exactly where the deer was, her vision sensing it as it moved and grazed. She flicked her tail and shrugged to the brute next to her. "You can go hunt it if you want. I am capable of helping if you wanted me to as well so you're not doing all the work alone... but that thought is entirely up to you. I could make it so it's fairly easy to capture and kill the deer, with a simple use of my abilities." She wasn't one for torturing her prey, but she was one for making it extremely easy to capture. She could capture her prey without wasting a whole lot of energy and they wouldn't have to worry about chasing it down or anything with what she was capable of. "I can capture that deer with a raise of my paw if you wanted me to. THen it would just be a quick snap and bite to the neck and there you would have a scrumptious meal... though, if you wanted to do it the old fashioned way, I can help out that way as well." She flicked her tail and turned her head to face directly to where the deer was grazing. She waited, patiently and calmly, for the brute to speak again.[/blockquote]

--> Cerebus <-- Faster, faster. The wind rushed past the she-wolf, shoved itself into every curve of her pelt. It tingled its way into her ears, making a deafening sound pulse within them. The female's ears perked up, then flapped down to try to get rid of it. RUN LITTLE ONE! Something was screaming in her head, and she couldn't get it out.
"LEAVE ME ALONE! PLEASE!" The sensation of the thoughts that ran through her mind was too much. It caused her to wince in pain, actually. It seemed like whoever was doing this to her wanted to take control. She wouldn't have it, not one bit. The wind blew harder against her muzzle, her ears, her entire body as she sped forward, pushing herself to try to get farther. You think you can run from me, little child? You think you can get away? HA. I will always be inside you, as I am the ANGER you HOLD."NO! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" As the thoughts started to disappear, or she thought, she started to slow down her pace. Her paws were up in flames, and she didn't even realize it. They remained in flames, even when she started to walk. Her tail was high over her butt, and her crimson eyes were scanning the area. Somehow, she was trying to figure out where these voices in her head came from. I'm not going crazy. I can't be. I don't even have a deep enough voice like that! The breezes from the plains were light and gentle now since she stopped frantically running. They ran themselves through her pelt, skimming across her light skin. It made her tingle inside, and thought it was great. The breezes helped cool down her body, and also her mind. They also trinkled through the flames surrounding her paws, and it slowly caused them to die out. well, her mind being settled helped them die out too, so technically, the breezes didn't quite do it fully. She didn't know where she was going now. She thought she was going to the cave she knows, but the road the female is now taking did not seem like the way to the cave. Okay, well, maybe I'll stumble on another home... And food. The stomach of hers started to growl, and she realized she hadn't eaten in a good amount of time. However, she was still... afraid of that voice, so she didn't dare change her course. She kept chugging along, hoping to catch a scent of prey, or, in any case, maybe another loner.

No sooner had she finished speaking to the brute, telling him of how she could easily bring down the prey by herself with a simple ability, did the distant yelling of another female catch her ears. She could feel the vibrations in the ground as the female ran... she seemed to be coming right at them! Oh no... not another crazy wolf... Kila thought to herself as she turned her attention quickly to the area where the female would soon be making her appearance. She sighed to herself and watched the area, her attention falling away from the deer... it wasn't as much of a threat as the female that seemed to be approaching... she could handle her own against a deer, but another wolf was a little trickier.
She didn't speak to the female, but instead waited for the female to address her. She was already in a conversation and potentially a hunt and she had no idea if this female was even planning on sticking around or if she would even notice the two wolves and the deer in the distance. She flicked her tail and waited for either of the two wolves around her to reply. [/blockquote]

--> Cerebus <-- A deep sigh came out from the muzzle of the beauty. Then, when she finished, a scent trailed across her nose. It was the scent of two unknown wolves. Relatively close, I might add. Lifting up her head, she saw the wolves, one a female and the other a male. They were in a conversation, looked deeped, but the female didn't seem interested.
Looks aren't everything, Cerebus. You should know this. Should I interfere? She decided she would, but politely. The thought of having REAL voices appealed to her, and maybe it'll get the thought of that male voice out of her mind. Some joy streamed through her body, and it caused small flames to erupt from all four paws. Nothing deadly, or threatening. Slowly, like the way she has been walking, she stopped a few paw steps back from the two. The female seemed to have known she was coming. Anything is possible to this beauty now, after the moment with the voice. "Hello...," mumbled the beauty, to both of the strangers. She tried to put a little bounce into her voice, but could not. The attack from the Voice bothered her to the maximum, but she would try to forget about it if she started a conversation with either of the strangers in front of her.

Kila watched as the female moved closer. She couldn't see much to her colors and whatnot, but she could see her shape and any appendages she might have, which included her wings. What was it with wolves and wings? She shrugged to herself and turned her head to fully face the female. It would potentially seem odd that a female, with a rag around her face and eyes, would know where the female was coming from and the general idea as to what she looked like.
"Hello." She said simply as she flicked her tail and turned her head to face the brute once more. She was a blind wolf, but she still had her own way of seeing. Turning her gaze back to the female, she curled her long, forest green tail with brown highlights around her matching paws and waited for the next to speak. She wasn't one for starting conversations and often didn't seem to warm up to others easily. She was often cold and complacent, distant and holding her ground, which was something she often did and didn't care what others thought about. She wondered how this female would react once she realized she was talking to a wolf that was blind.[/blockquote]

--> Cerebus <-- After the female turned, she saw the rag wrapped around her face. It didn't scare her, actually. It only fascinated her. A wolf with a rag, that wasn't the usual daily thing to see. Not at all.
Maybe she's blind. Most likely. Slowly, the she-wolf sat from where she stood. Her legs get weak from running for how many miles? Especially since she pushed herself. Those crimson hues looked at the male wolf, then back to the female. Nothing like a heavy silence to make everybody joyful. "So... who might you be?" The flames shot up abit from her paws, but it showed that she was relaxed. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and she did not even try to act like a leader. Sure, she was fierce and independent, but that doesn't count for crap in the Plains.

Kila listened as the female talked... and she listened to the silence that seemed to ensue. Wow, they were quite a lively bunch, now weren't they? She smirked to herself and finally decided it was best to speak.
"The names Kila. And you would be?" She flicked her tail and adjusted her position so she was a little more comfortable. Kila was okay with other wolves, so long as they treated her as any other wolf, though that rarely came because of the fact that she was blind... most wolves tried to treat her like she was any lesser and this is where Kila would stand up for herself and show them she was more than capable of fending for herself. Yes, she was blind, but she had the strength and will of any other wolf and was just as capable as any other wolf to do things... Well, most things... she still wasn't sure what that bear was all about with that other crazy wolf that spoke oddly enough. She flicked her tail and shook her head, clearing her head of that previous encounter.[/blockquote] ((NOt the longest of posts, but posts nonetheless.))

--> Cerebus <-- The silence soon faded when the female wolf spoke. The beauty sighed, and her tail flicked over her paws. You would think that would hurt. However, it didn't. Actually, her tail lit on fire along with her paws.
"Kila... I must remember that. My name is Cerebus. Sounds like a male name, I know." The wolf smiled a little, her ears twitching a little bit. Even though she was in a semi-conversation, she still kept herself aware. She didn't want anybody to sneak up on her, or them. It wouldn't make her day happier. OOC: [ This is probably the shortest post I have ever made. xD ]

Callion listened to the fae and as he was about to say something an irratated voice came from the distance. He kept his big maw shut and listened. It was comeing closer. A fae it sounded like... Two in one day? Wow. His luck was alot better than he had origanly thought. He let a breath come from his massive maw. The fae ran closer and closer to them until she stood amoung them.
He turned his head to see that she was another fire like he. He turned his head back to the dear. It was still oblivious... maybe...
He heard the fae's swap hellos and names. So Kila was her name. He could remember that. He wasn't as stupid as most brutes his size. The other was... Cerebus. Interesting names, but hard to forget. He had kept his maw shut during the whole exchange. Oh well, he wasn't much into strangers anyway. He would tell them about himself later if they wish but for now...
He brought himself to his feet towering over the two fae's. Be back in a minute... He said in a low voice as he left the two of them in a sort of stareing contest. He padded off around the hill to get behind the deer. The sharp tips on his antlers suddenly burst into flame, along with the spikes on his back. He padded around the hill, almost strolling, huge flames leaping up behind him. When he reached the spot where he was before he let the fire fall to a relaxed blue flame. The only way out was past him.
He let out a huge bark that bounced off the hills. The deer looked towards him and bolted the other direction, only to be imobilized by the anceint fear of fire. Callion closed the gap and walked up towards the deer as she backed herself towards the flame. She stopped on the edge and looked at him pleadingly. Jumping up in the air he landed on her back and grabed hold of her neck and snapped it.
Outing the flames he had put on the ground he grabbed his prey and walked back to the two he had left. Putting it down infront of him he asked a simple question Hungry? His pelt ruffled as the wind hit it but the blue flames on his antlers never stirred. His mind was at peace.

Kila listened to the female for a moment longer then flicked her tail. The brute had said something and she turned her head to listen and to watch. She huffed to herself and turned her face back to the female. Well, Kila was hungry, she wasn't sure of the female and right now, she could care less. Kila often took care of number one... herself... before she dealt with any others.
"Thanks." was all Kila said as she stepped forward and began to eat her fill. She could really pack away food, despite her small stature and size. She had to force herself to stop eating after a while so she wouldn't hog most of it to herself. Her stomach was content, though not entirely full. She ate her fill, which was roughly a third of the meal, and sat back to let the food she had eaten digest. She waited for the other two to finish eating before saying or doing anything else. This crazy female wasn't so crazy... so maybe she would have a little bit of company for a little while.[/blockquote]

--> Cerebus <-- The male wolf had stayed quiet until he vanished. It was the deer, Cerebus now realized. She was too involved with her thoughts, and she grew silently angry at herself. Flames puffed up around her paws, and watched has the male came back.
He had dropped the deer in front of her ad Kila. Kila and the male started to eat, but she waited. She didn't like to get food by other wolves. It made her feel... co-dependant. She hated that feeling, but the rumbling of her stomach told her to suck it up. She did. She swallowed her pride and took a few hunks out of the deer. She ate rather quickly, as she didn't realize her hunger.
After a few minutes, she was done. A sigh escaped, and she laid down from where she ate. She waited until either the male or the new found Kila would say something. If neither did, she would start a conversation... maybe. There's not much to talk about in these Plains.

He gulped down what was left over from the other two. He had no idea how much it was he just knew that he wasn't completely full. His gaze turned to the sky over head and to the stars and moon. The night was at it's peak as the moon was hanging straight overtop them. So. Whats your story? He asked to no one in particular just to say something. His eyes were still on the sky his attention taken by it and the stars. How many were there? How did they stay? A star shot from one corner of the earth to another.
He layed down beside the carcass and laid as still as a stone. The only movement was the flicker of the flame and his eyes that scanned the land. ((Shortest post EVER))

Kila listened to the other two wolves eat their fill and knew there was nothing left but bone. She sighed to herself and flicked her tail. Her forest green fur causing her to blend well with her surroundings, especially in the moonlight, her brown paws folded gently before her as she slowly laid down from her nearly satisfying meal.
So the brute had spoken... and he wasn't talking to anyone in particular. She could tell by the direction his voice trailed and the way his form that she could see through her own way of seeing sat. She flicked her tail and turned her head to the female. She had laid down and remained abnormally quiet. Well, Kila had no intentions of sharing her story first, that was for sure. Granted, she really didn't remember most of it only because it happened so long ago and she would prefer to forget the fowl stench the humans had in their lab.
"Why don't you go first? First in this area, first to spill." She wasn't going to go first, but she quickly thought and decided it might be a good idea to have the brute spill his story first. She was more keen on getting to hear other wolves sob stories than telling her own.[/blockquote]
