Mira stood at the opening of her's and Lucid's den. It had been awhile since she had seen him or her pups... Well, she couldn't necisarilly say pups anymore... They were definitely growing up, or well, are grown up. She felt rather lonely, to say the least. There were so many wolves joining the pack, and her children really no longer needed her for support. Mira never thought that she would feel so unnecissary.
With a small bark, she laid down and wrested her head on her creamy paws. A single tear fell down her face. She had to admit that she felt a little stupid crying over something that she was sure happened to everyone, but what else was she supposed to do? Stand there like nothing was going on? That everything was fine? Mira just wasn't that type of wolf. She let her emotions show if only for a few seconds.
Mira pulled herself together and walked to the very back of the den where her and Lucid usually slept, he seemed distant from her. She couldn't quite put her paw on it, but she had the slightest idea that he hadn't told her everything. There was still that absence between them. Did he have any siblings? What about his parents? Where are all of them now? She knew the pack fell apart, but that didn't mean that everyone had just fallen off the Earth.... She laid down in her spot, a feeling of depression settling over her fur.

Lucid had been out hunting, easily taking down a rather large caribou for the pack to feast on. First dibs always came to Lucid and Mira. Lucid had eaten his fill and had been dragging the carcass rather easily and lazily toward his den area where he placed it outside the den for Mira. He figured the pack was hungry and it was part of his Alphen duties to makes sure his pack was taken care of.
He flicked his tails and shook the dirt from his fur. He folded his large wings to his sides and rested his black form outside in the moonlight. He sat down on the hard stone earth and looked out over the mountainous region that was his packlands. He could see the waterfalls of the south-western part of his border.. the plains of the southern part of his border.. and the forest of the south-eastern part of his borders. His glowing eyes stared blankly at his lands. He had opportunities to claim other lands... but why hadn't he? This had puzzled him greatly.
He pondered his own mini plan in his mind, waiting and plotting his takeover of Aelyn to be the alpha of all the lands.

Mira opened one eye lid slowly as she heard a soft thud outside her den. It was dark already? She must have fallen asleep in her self pity. She stretched and shook her fur free of any sleep that may remain on her and headed toward the opening of the den. Lucid. She could smell his scent immediately, and a small smile found itself on her lips. Her pace quickened as his large form became larger in the clearing of the distance between them. The smell of blood quickly filled her nose and she slowed her pace. Mira's stomach rumbled softly, but she actually wasn't in the mood to eat. With a silent sigh, she walked up beside Lucid and rubbed her head against his chest in an affectionate way. "You were out late." She spoke softly and not in a questioning sort of way.

Lucid had known Mira had been in the den... which was the reasoning as to why he had brought the kill to their den area. She had rubbed her head against his torso, which was the highest she could normally reach due to his height and his immense size.
He acknowledge her nuzzle by pressing his maw against the top of her head in what would be known as an affectionate manner. He knew how to show affection, even if he really didn't mean it. It wouldn't be known to her if he didn't really mean it, for what he showed seemed genuine.
"I was hunting. I assume you're hungry? I heard your stomach growl." [/b] He smirked at her and flicked his tails that rested gently around his lower torso... one on one side, two on the other. His wings folded against his ribs in a comfortable manner. THe only thing that was visible in the night from him were his glowing eyes and the faint sign of his flamed markings.[/blockquote]

Mira smiled softly as he pressed his maw on top of her head. At least he still showed a bit of affection. She sat beside him and looked over toward the south-west. It was so pretty over there, she had thought many times what it would be like to live near that large amount of water. She laid down slowly, taking in the gorgeous scenery and contemplating on eating or not. She licked her lower teeth and shrugged ever so slightly. "Thank you, but I'm not really in the mood to eat right now." She tilted her head up off her paws and attempted to look at Lucid. She could barely see the glow of his eyes, but it eased her a bit anyway. Mira rested her head back on her paws and continued to look out toward the lands. Why did she stop here, rather than anywhere else? What drew her to the mountains? My parents, she thought, they lived in the mountains.

Lucid turned his gaze toward Mira when she spoke. He held little to no expressiveness on his face as he replied to her statement.
"You may not be carrying pups or feeding them anymore, but you still need to eat. The pack needs to remain strong and healthy.. especially it's leadership." [/b] He flicked his tails as he said this, knowing that he needed his pack to expand once more. Some wolves had disappeared, while others had moved on to Paradise. The alphen meeting was to come up soon and he needed to be prepared to face whatever strength the other packlands might have and what forces would meet him when he put his plot and his plans into motion. "You never know how friendly the other packs may be... we need to stay strong, especially since pack members tend to disappear or move on without notice."[/b] He assumed she had noticed the decline in their pack membership. He sighed within his mind as he flicked his tails once more... a habit that he hardly ever realized he was doing.[/blockquote]

Mira stood up and looked at Lucid. In order to look him in the eyes, she stood on her hind legs and pressed her front paws against his chest. Her whole weight was resting against him, but she knew it would have no effect on him. "What's going on with you? You've been distant lately. It's all about building the pack up, keeping everyone strong. What's going on in that mind of your's?" Her soft blue eyes held his bright ones.
She was going to get him to talk, she was Alphess after all. She had a right to know about his plans. And with the Alphen meeting coming up, she needed to know what was going on, or face looking like a fool like she did at the last one. And Mira wasn't going to let that happen again. Her creamy tail turned a soft blue, ratiating heat throughout her body.

Lucid watched Mira as she placeed her front paws upon his large chest. Her weight was hardly noticed against his torso. He sighed to her and flicked his tails, holding her blue eyes the best he could with his glowing, pupil-less ones.
"Mira, calm down. No need to get fired up. What do you want to know exactly? I've been thinking deeply about the packlands and after my meeting with Aures Un, I've had a lot on my mind as to figuring out some things. Not to mention, our pups grew up so quickly... they are no doubt competing for leadership and I need to focus on which one would be best to take lead of our pack when we are no longer able." [/b] He flicked his tails once more, hoping that this would ease her mind. He hoped that this would provide enough information for her for her to not press into his plans that he has. "You never know when another attack might try to attack. Not all wolves like peace and not all wolves will just submit to the alpha of lands. Remember Baztek? Remember how he stood up to me and wouldn't even listen to me... and he was as loner. What do you think an Alpha in that position would do?"[/b] He sighed and shook his head. "This alphen meeting is key to our packs survival. If there are other wolves... other packs that want to overthrow ours or try to take over ours, we need to have our strength."[/b] He was telling her exactly what the other packs should be worried about, rather than what they should be worried about.. though these concerns would come off as he intended them to... concerns for his packlands... after all, what Alpha wouldn't want to make sure his pack was strong enough to defend it's lands should an attack come?[/blockquote]

Mira listened to every word that poored out of Lucid's maw. He had some good points, she had to admit, but she still wasn't completely sure. "Well, we don't have to worry about Haven competing because he left yesterday to explore the lands. He said he had someting to figure out and was going to look for a wolf called Masina. I don't know who that is. He mentioned you too, but I didn't understand him clearly. He's old enough to take care of himself. And as for Tola and Crow... Well, they are definitely out for your attention." She smirked softly as she remembered watching the two fight over who 'Daddy' loved more.
"Of course I remember Baztek." She let out a little sigh. "How could I not? He interupted you attempting to flirt." Mira cocked her head to the side, a smirk had happily found a home on her maw. "You treated that the way, any alpha would have treated it. He was soulless. I find it hard to believe that there is more than one of him out there. And who would plan on taking over our pack? If I remember correctly, Lucid, you were the biggest and meanest looking wolf there. And with my crazy tempers... They'd be crazy too." She pressed her nose against his softly, a smile appearing. With a sudden playful spark, Mira licked the tip of his nose and smirked, still leaning against him.

Lucid listened to her and flicked his tails. His eyes glowed brightly at the mention of the name Masina and he turned his face curiously toward Mira.
"Did Haven say anything else about this Masina? Where did he hear of her?" [/b] ((I don't remember if Lucid knows of her or not... O-O#)) He turned to face Mira fully and dead on. She had then spoke of Baztek and Lucid surpressed a low growl at the thought of him and his disrespect. He snorted at the mention of his name and bared his long fangs. SHe had then decided to lick him on the nose as he did this, catching him slightly off guard as he flicked his tails and inwardly pleaded for her to speak more about this Masina she spoke of. If it was the one that he was thinking of... he would curse himself for leaving her for dead when he killed his family. His outward expression was one of curiosity, nothing more, as he waited for Mira to speak again.[/blockquote]

Mira frowned slightly at the reaction Lucid had toward her when she licked his nose. Was he really that stressed out about this Masina? She pushed herself off of him and licked her maw. "He was really quiet about it. He said something about dreams... Water.... But I think that it was because he's of the water element. It really isn't that big of a deal."
Her tail flicked, the blue in it turned darker. Mira chewed on her paw softly, looking away from Lucid. "Do you know of a Masina?" She turned and jumped back up looking him in the eye. "Someone from your past, perhaps?" She cocked her brow, her voice was very questioning.

Lucid flicked his tail and pondered for a moment before he answered. He knew that Mira would pick up a lie... but what if he told a half truth? That shouldn't be too obvious, considering Lucid was fairly good at keeping a straight face about almost everything.
"Just a familiar name... I don't know why it sparked so much when it was mentioned. I don't recall much of my past, considering the past is the past and to me all that matters is the present and the future." [/b] Lucid was pleased with his answer and flicked his tails once more before turning to look out over the lands far below them. The view was spectacular... though Lucid didn't pay any heed to such things. "So Haven just up and left? What for? Was he not happy here?"[/b] Lucid put in a facade of caring about his never to be heir fairly well. The fight was truly between Tola and Crow about who would take their place when they were too old or if something were to happen. Both had good qualities. Lucid never saw Haven as the leadership type.[/blockquote]

Mira had a very skeptical look on her face. She cocked her head to the side, "You're hiding something from me. But fine, I'll take it." She pushed off of him again, her throat a little dry and her head spinning with questions and possibilites. She sat down in front of him and looked up at him. If they were going to be looking eye to eye from here on out, he was going to have to come down to her level.
"I'm sure he was happy here. Haven.. he just didn't fit in. We're all about strength. He's about caring. I don't know what was going on yesterday, to tell you the truth. He just said he was leaving, he had heard something that he needed to figure out and that he needed to find this said Masina. I'm a little worried, but what can I do?" Mira sighed softly, a tear escaping her blue eyes. Without re-thinking, she opened her maw and looked at him. "Tell me about your family...." It was a partial request, partial demand. She had hoped that it came out as more of a request.

Lucid looked at Mira and laid down upon the ground... this was the easiest way that he could get eye level with her without towering over her. So, she wanted to know of his family, well he would tell her.
"Well, my parents were the Alphas of our pack, so Alphen Blood runs in my veins. I had two sisters. I was the only male. That's about all I remember.. I take after my father in appearance, but that's about it. My size comes from my father as well... though it is unknown as to any likenesses that I had with my mother. They no longer exist in my life... nor in this realm. That's all that there really is to know about my family." [/b] He shrugged as if it were no big deal. He had "cut ties" from them long ago and they were "dead" in his eyes... all except the possibility that Masina was still alive. This intrigued him so as he continued to gaze into Mira's with his glowing orbs. "Is there anything else you would like to know? What of your family? Do you have any siblings? Why did you come to these lands?"[/b] His goal was to deter her questions to have her answer some of his own, though he could care less what her answers were. He just didn't want to talk about his family and wasn't sure exactly what else he could do to keep her from prying too much into his plans and into his mind.[/blockquote]

Mira couldn't help but snort in a small bout of laughter. "What happened to your family Lucid?" She was rather glad that he had laid down on the ground so she could look him in the eyes. Her blue ones sparkled with both curiosity and fire. She shook her head and licked her teeth, "I've already told you about my family. My parents were alpha's and still are I presume. I was the only girl out of three pups. My brothers split, one went south, one went north, leaving me alone. To tell you the truth, I dont' know why I chose to run through the mountains rather than anywhere else. Probably because my parents lived in the mountains. I'm pretty sure I stayed because I found myself attracted to you."
Mira looked deep into Lucid's eyes. She could get lost in them easily if she didn't watch herself. She leaned forward, placed her creamy soft paw onto one of his and asked him softly, very affectionately, "What are you hiding from me, Lucid?" Her voice was very soft and sweet. However, there was definite fear hidden within her vocals though.

Lucid listened. He had heard this all before, but that didn't stop him from trying to divert the attention from himself. He thought quickly and rapidly as she gazed into his eyes.
"I'm not sure exactly what happened to them. I left before I had the chance to really find things out." [/b] This was a partial truth. He had murdered his family, yes, but he had left them all for dead in the burning cinders that he had created to incinerate them and burn their corpses. He hadn't made sure they were completely burned or whether or not they still lived... he presumed them all to be dead. "What makes you think I'm hiding anything from you? What reasons would I have to hide anything from you?"[/b] He flicked his tails behind him as he waited patiently for her to respond. No doubt she would ask more questions and that this answer he has given wouldn't be enough and that she would question more into his past and into what was on his mind... it was in any one wolf's nature to do so.[/blockquote]

Mira shook her head, allowing her head to fall silently. "I just have a feeling that you are not telling me something. I'm not going to get anything out of you, am I? You've been a mystery since we've met, and I'm sure you'll be a mystery till we part." She removed her paw from his silently and walked over toward the edge, looking out over the land. That was it, she just needed to give up on getting to know him, be a good Alphess, help the Alpha lead their pack.
Mira slowly leaned forward, looking down toward the other dens. She laid down near the edge allowing her head and paws to dangle over. What if something had happened to Lucid or her? How could she lead a pack if something had happened to him? She knew for a fact that he would continue living life if something were to happen to her. That was just the type of wolf he was. She was there to produce an heir, end of that story. "Lucid? Who do feel could lead the pack better if something were to happen to you? Tola or Crow?"

Lucid looked at MIra as she spoke words that were more than true. He would keep silent as much as he could about his plans and his past. He wasn't one to share them anyway. He was grateful when she changed the subject back to heirs and was more than willing to give his word in on that.
"I'm not sure exactly. Both compete for attention, but neither realize that it's not exactly my approval they need. They need to decide between themselves. Tola has my strength, while Crow has a stand for showing himself. He's always been shadowed by Tola, and if I had to choose now from their personalities and the way they have established their own pecking order, so to speak, I would say Tola because she dominates and outdoes Crow every chance she gets. She can and has for as long as they were pups often overpowered Crow, winning the wrestling matches and whatnot they would get into. Crow, on the other hand, has a more slender form and has the speed and the intelligence to lead a pack. Did you know he learned to fly? Tola hasn't even done that one yet." [/b] He flicked his tails and looked at Mira. Lucid hadn't told anyone of Aures Un. The golden feather dropped by the great dragon still lay hidden under his fur, barely visible, if at all. He should talk to Mira about him, only because she was an Alphess and she had every right to know about the Alphen meeting and what was shared about the meeting between the wolf and the dragon. "Which do you think is more suited?"[/b] He looked at her, his glowing eyes illuminating the fur around his face, casting long shadows in an eerie way down his fur in the night.[/blockquote]

Mira listened to Lucid's ideas of the pups. Tola definitely had the characteristics of a good leader. Crow to would be a great leader. She rested her eyes and sighed softly. Her voice was strong, but soft, "I don't know, hence why I asked you. They would both be great leaders. Alphen blood runs threw their veins from both sides." She stood up slowly and turned her head back toward him, "I just want to know who you would want to lead your pack if something were to happen to you. I know very well that I wouldn't be able to long."

Lucid looked at Mira and waited a moment before he answered her. He had thought of this and this was why he was pushing his pups and making them decide who would be best for leadership... why he wouldn't show a whole lot of approval toward them until they decided who would make the better leader.
"I'm letting them decide for themselves. They need to prove to me that either one of them is ready for any sort of leadership. Tests, trials, and things like that. Things that can test their abilities and their leadership capabilities. I'm testing them to see what their strengths and their weaknesses are and finding out, slowly, which qualities so work best for them. Their weaknesses would be their downfall in a leadership position. That's what I"m testing with them and that is what will decide the leader of the Misuteriasu Mountains." [/b] Sure, his words and treatment of his pups sounded harsh, but it was building them character and making them work hard to show what they were made of and what they could do.[/blockquote]
