~ Z . E . I . R . E . I . G . N . A ~ She was mucking around again, dipping her paws into the slushy mud and then extracting them slowly, resulting in a squelching sound finalised by a loud pop!when her paw was finally free. The young wolf flicked her tail absent-mindedly as she watched the sludge drip slowly from her paw onto the floor. Lifting her other paw up, she plonked it down into the marsh again, giggling childishly as she felt the cold substance embrace her paw, squishing through her toes.
Strange though, how the act of grieving manifests itself in different personalities. Zei had been up and down for the past few days, ever since she heard the news of poor Kerrigan's demise. Today she was simply in an odd mood, working hard to make sure her deceased Alpha didn't cross her mind and catch her off guard. Unfortunately all things come in circles, and looking at the marsh falling from her paws she thought back to the time she first entered Nigori.
Taking a glance over her shoulder, she saw the spot where she first came across the loner Finch and her Alpha; Kerrigan. It was a spot she often returned to to remind herself. The earth spikes still shot from the ground in that spot, the bird that had once been ensnared by them long gone. She cared not whether it had survived. Thinking on Kerrigan now, she smiled sadly; she'd never been able to get anything past him. He was a wise leader, caring, yet firm. He would be sorely missed.
She sniffed, feeling suddenly cold. She was not crying. There was happiness too in the pack, she had to think of that. The new pups, they lived, and they were healthy. Retracting her paw from the marsh, her foolish game forgotten, she scampered back to the den.
{Later}
She sat outside the den, her tail twitching around her front paws. Chewing her lip, Zei found it odd that she was nervous. What did she have to be nervous about? She was curious about the pups, but afraid to go in, just in case she was refused. Lifting her muzzle to the air, she scented the fresh smell of infants and smiled a little, edging further into the den. She would only have a little look. Then she'd be out. No harm done.

Zephora's ears perked, her nose twitching as she heard pawsteps outside her den and caught scent of none other than Zei. A soft smile slipped along her lips and she lifted her head from her paws to look upon the two balls of fluff that were curled up and nestled to her side. She then looked back upon the doorway of her den with a gentle perk of her ears, her tail curving about her daughters to keep the cool fall winds out of their coats, her wing sliding down to sheild the annoying light from them as well. "Hello? Zei, is that you dear?" she called into the air, letting her ears then strain to hear better from whoever was outside her den.
Since the birth of her pups there had been many visitors and all were curious to see the precious pus of she and her beloved Kerrigan. After all, these two females that rest so peacefully beneath her wing were the heirs to the throne and the latest additions to the Nigori family itself. with the help of everyon in the pack they'd grow to be strong and smart, bringing honor and strength to their pack. It made Zephora proud to know that she had such a supportive and loving family like she had here in Nigori.
"Don't be afraid to come down, dear. Just please be quiet as you do.. they're sleeping." she told whoever stood outside.

A lone howl echoed out across the lands that lay not far away from the boarders of Nigori. A lone howl echoed of a male who had just experienced great pleasure. Only to the near or the very trained ear could a following of puppy cackling be heard as it continued to jest and mock the howler for his newest predicament.
“WYVERN GALE!”
…That should’ve sounded so much more terrifying than it did. The howler was fully grown, the other still a pup, the howler was strong and the pup knew this. There were a million reasons that would support the ability to for wolf A. to rip wolf B. limb from precious limb.. But there were a million and one reasons why he never would. Firstly, Zedderik Shryke wasn’t mean by nature. He also wasn’t currently angry, if he was Then Wye would know about it and sure hell would he be running in the other direction. Not to mention (no seriously) that the howler known as Zed was far to preoccupied with trying to sort himself out, this including wrapping his tail around his lower area and trying to end this humiliating feeling that was burning on his cheeks so that he could actually Kill that damn pup.
‘That damn pup’ was of course having the time of his life. His life aspired to putting his best mate in the whole world through all the agony in the whole world. Not only ‘cause he enjoyed to see the guy suffer but also ‘cause he knew that he enjoyed it. So he was rolling around in the mud, getting filthier by the second as his dear friend glowered down at him with bright red cheeks.
“Oh Zed! You know you love it really.”
He yipped at his comrade, unfortunately this was true and very much the problem. The elder was a masochist while the younger was a sadist. This meant they were perfectly matched… to cause the one, the utmost unbearable scenarios time after time after time.
“And how the bloody hell do you expect us to find a home if you keep whoring me out like this Wye!?”
The older male was just about starting to regain some control over his body and he hung his head as his lions mane fell from over his brow. His ears were low and his body was hot and flushed and embarrassed. He would kill the kid one day… once he figured out a way to stop the pain he’d feel, he may like the stuff but not That kind of heartache.
The duo had had a kind of bond from the moment he’d saved his life. It meant they were very close and had a habit of understanding one another more than the average telepath, though no such abilities had been found in either wolf. It was amazing how well they were synched. They would tease each other, sure, one more than the other, but ultimately they were perfect together. It wasn’t just that simple. The two couldn’t be parted. If they became separated it would start to have very rapid and very drastic effects. They would start to suffer unbelievable pain and if the period of time were extended and the distance too great then the very essence of their being could be shattered… maybe unfixable.. But that’s not something they’ve ever been willing to try since that one time when Zed had to go running back to Wye, tears in each pairs of eyes at the intense pain… unfortunate that that one moment of privacy had been at the request to go to the bathroom please Zed.
The pup found the time to breathe in between his hysterics just enough to tut at his elder and better. “Come on now Zed, that’s no language to use in front of an innocent young pup like me! You should be utterly ashamed of yourself.”
Zedderik’s eye’s glistened and his posture tensed. Right. Now the kid was gonna get it. He grinned at his partner as his eyes widened with terror a moment in time as the large copper wolf sprang forwards landing where the pup had been seconds before.
The sounds of laughter now, echoed across the marshlands. A pup and his minder were playing and tearing around the grasses and the pools and the mud and they were having the best times of their lives. No-one could make a happier pair than the two ‘freaks’ as Zed calls it as he ran after the little rat that so loved to make his life an absolute personal heavenly hell. He chuckled as he ran after the pup now, his speed and greater stride giving him the advantage though still not unbeatable as Wye could still slip under his belly and avoid some of the attacks. One day Wye would grow too big for such trickery and Zed was willing to bet that Wye would have to crash into his jaws a few times before the message sank in, that would be the time for Zed to take back his victory and more importantly, his glorious revenge! {Hi '^^ hope you don't mind me posting to join you too, if you don't wan't me joining just say and I'll move the thread but here it is if your interersted ^^ words-856 Inspiration for Wye & Zed - Very good! Poor Zed... XD Fox xx}

~ Z . E . I . R . E . I . G . N . A ~ She jumped a little when she heard the soft, yet clear voice of her Alphess ringing through the den. Sighing, she shook her head and smiled. She should not have been surprised, of course the mother would have been with the newborn pups. She had forgotten that in her distance from her own mother. It was odd to think of now, that her own mother had been so loving to herself and Rhei, yet had ignored and persecuted her nameless sister. She had not thought of them for a long time...perhaps she was losing track of herself...
“Yar, i's me” She interrupted her thoughts with her own voice, making it loud and clear so that Zephora knew that she was not wrong in her assumption. She let out a breath of relief she didn't realise had been making her feel lightheaded, at the suggestion of entry. This was promising. Still, she was nervous. Seeing the new pups, what would they look like? If either of them resembled Kerrigan she thought she might find it hard to look away. Well, no sense in dawdling. She bounded down into the den area, ducking her head as a few leaves fell down to intercept her path.
As she emerged into the Alpha's den, the first thing she noticed was the extreme warmth in here. Obviously it was made to keep the little ones from going cold, but spots appeared in Zei's cheeks and she shivered from the sudden rise in temperature. There was Zephora, her Alphess and senior. She smiled nervously at her, offering the older fae a clumsy bow of respect. She dropped to her belly, nose pressed to the ground when she saw the two bundles of fluff nestled beside her.
Crawling forwards on her belly, Zei's tail twitched playfully as she watched the two. Lime green streaked through both of them, and it was not difficult to tell that they were Kerrigan's. She found herself smiling despite herself, and a giggle formed in her throat.
“Wow Miss. They's be-a-utiful. Wow” She managed to utter, softly so that the newborns would not be disturbed.

Z e p h o r a Zephora's plume drifted back and forth as the young whelp came on down into the den to look upon the pups, her ears lightly flowing forward. "Why thank you, Zei." she said with a soft grin, her nose then sweeping on down to brush along the downy coat of her youngest daughter before she gently swept her tongue along the cheek of her oldest. "Kerrigan would be very proud." she said softly, but soon enough those ears of white velvet swept forth at full attention; Zephora had heard something and the lands of Nigori had told her that someone had invaded the territory. To Zephora, it was as if whispers were within her ears, speaking of two wolves. They told her that there was one that was upset while the other was laughing, but that none sensed that they were true threats.
Zephora's attention turned upon Zei and she looked back upon her daughters. "There are intruders at the land borders, and now they're close to the camp.." she said, her wing then retracting back to her spine. Slowly rising to her paws, Zephora then looked back upon her sleeping babies and used a paw as well as her nose to cover them in the soft layer of fur that lined her nest. Her heart sank a little, and she realized the predicament she was in. She had to go defend the borders, but at the same time, she needed to keep her children safe. She looked to the den entrance, her ears lightly sweeping back upon her coat.
It was right about then when she looked upon Zei. "Darling, do you think you could help me, please? I need to take care of these newcomers.. " she said, then quietly padding towards her den entrance before she glanced back upon her two sleeping daughters who curled into each other with quiet murmurings before settling again. "I'd like you to accompany me, but make sure that nobody gets near the den while I'm handling things, please. Would you please do that for me?" she asked the young female, letting her tail sway.
Before long Zephora had wandered on up and out of the den, glancing back to see where Zei was. Soon after she set forth to find the loners, and found them as well. One young, the other older, yet both were in very different moods. The queen's ears swept back as she watched them, but eventually she spoke up. "What brings you here to Nigori?" she asked, her wings then furling back to her side as she looked both males over closely.

The Alphess of the lands had arrived to meet them. Her form was majestic and proud, it gave away nothing despite the misfortune that so suddenly grasped her lands and her heart, she was strong enough that it would not make her weak. It was such an honour to be greeted by her first hand and had Zed not been otherwise incapacitated bye a Wyvern now clinging to his hind paw by the teeth and causing him to whimper for more reasons than one, he would’ve made more effort with his greeting. Finally after a particularly good kick out he shook the pup off who went barrel rolling a small distance before getting up and trotting back to Zed’s side. He didn’t look hurt, he didn’t act it, he might’ve just landed on a feather bed for all the care he gave. It was now that Zed finally noted the importance of the fae scent in the air and he felt his cheeks go scarlet. Crap! His legs were sprawled at awkward angles that did nothing to show his actual composure and dignity. He bowed his head hurriedly, probably looking a right plonker (idiot XD) as he did so.
“I’m so very sorry Alphess! This dear little idiot doesn’t know respect for authority when it hits him in the face! We mean no disrespect!”
To this Wye looked momentarily put out, a pout finding its way onto his adolescent lips before his expression changed as an idea struck him. Then changing his poise completely he sauntered over to the fae looking as dashing as is possible for himself before bowing his head low and with over accentuated grandeur before finally going to lick her paw in the most gentlemanly of manners. To which Zed’s jaw parted a little and he suddenly felt drained. He muttered under his breath something about ’that damn kid’ before he slammed his head into the earth at his pads. The little bugger. He couldn’t help but grin to himself but boy was that little pup gonna get it! Also, his head now ached a little.
“Okay… Please allow me to try this again my lady Alphess. My name is Zedderik Shryke, this is Wyvern Gale. We travel together and we’ve journeyed from a land far from this one and we’re looking for a place to call home. I promise that we’ll only be as much trouble as this little one can cause and I’ll do my best to keep that as a bare minimum.”
His good humour ever apparent he smiled kindly towards the great fae before him. His breathing had calmed down now and his mind able to focus, now that there weren’t certain… distraction. He suddenly realised and immediately regretted his choice of words. He could smell newborns about this fae and it occurred to him that another bundle of joy and horror was probably not what she would want right now. He smiled a crooked, hopeful, apologetic smile all at once while Wye stood at her feet, tail wagging and smiling up at her with a suave yet jazzy grin.

~ Z . E . I . R . E . I . G . N . A ~ Quelled by what she saw, Zei could only watch in amazement as her Alphess' little balls of fluff moved slightly in comfortable sleep. But then, she too scented the newcomers, a few moments after Zephora, as her own nose was not as practised in defining scents. Casting her eyes back to the entrance of the Alpha's separate den, she thought for a moment upon the trouble this situation presented itself with, then listened to Zephora's words. Smiling slightly, she nodded her assent. Of course she could be lookout. Anything for her Alpha's.
“Yes ma'am. I'll make sure nobuddy gets in wiv-out yur say so ma'am” She said, gazing at the two little girls as Zephora covered them in warmth and pushed them towards each other. It was odd how they snuggled against one another so readily, so trusting already of each other and their own mother. It was bliss to feel that safe and free from harm for a time. Then she turned and, pausing slightly, she followed her Alphess out of the den and into the open air.
Of course it wouldn't take long for them to reach the newcomers – they had made a pretty obvious impression of where they were from their shouts and yells – but still Zei hurried her pace, just keeping up with Zephora as her Alphess managed to make it look as if she were gliding. The whelp unfurled her wings slightly so that she could use the brief wind for an advantage and found this to be easier than just about loping behind Zephora. They reached the new pair within minutes of setting out from the den.
In fact, Zei thought, glancing backwards over her shoulder as she tucked her wings back away, they could still see the den entrance from here. Looking forwards again to the newcomers, she spared them the briefest of smiles before trotting over to stand next to Zephora, angled just slightly so that she could watch the den avidly with her peripheral vision. She would not fail her Alpha.
As the ramshackle pair introduced themselves – because they surely looked like a couple of mental wolves fresh from the loony bin – Zei raised an eyebrow at each of them, her auburn gaze switched slowly from Zedderick to Wyevern. Certainly an odd pair, she wasn't sure if she liked or disliked either of them at the moment, but one thing was sure. She was suspicious of them. Narrowing her eyes, she resolved not to let those two near her Alphess' pups if she could.
She almost introduced herself, but she noticed that neither of the two had addressed her, so she remained silent, as a wise one does in any situation like this. Or simply because she might have been sulking. Either would have been an adequate and correct explanation.

It was only now that the eyes of the older had found a young fae before himself and his expression dropped. Great. He’d made another mistake in that he’d failed to notice this other pack member. She could’ve come from anywhere at anytime and the only thing he could think was that he really could not bring to his mind a single period of the time that had passed where she’d turned up. This was not a good day. His scent was far from proper due to the little bugger that was now grinning like an idiot at the paws of the great fae. His tail wagging and those stupid smiles directed up at this Alphess were enough to make Zed wish he could bury his whole muzzle deep into the muddy ground and try and replay time so that he may be given the hope of trying this again. His eyes focused on the Alphess a moment only to show he was meaning absolutely no lack of respect as he then took his eyes from her to bow his head to the little femme before him.
“Good day fae. I do so apologise for not greeting you sooner, your stealth rendered you completely invisible to me and I think you must have appeared from the air itself. My name is Zedderik Shryke and this is Wyvern Gale. I’m sorry for our unorthodox entry upon your Alphess’s lands.” He knew that he was hungry and felt his stomach poke and provoke pain as if to make sure he was getting the picture that his manners or maybe humiliation were to great to point out. So it was that the poor male was now wanting to slaughter his beloved companion for this unasked for and certainly out of place bluntness. “Hey miss Alphess. Don’t suppose you got any grub? Only Zed and me here are starving! I don’t eat much but Zed is a pig so watch your food while you eat okay!?” He turned to give Zed a wink and whispered in a way obviously meant for the others to hear.
“Don’t worry Zed. I’m sure the pretty Alphess won’t mind sharing with us” “Damn. That. Child!” Now even more flustered with his paws darting in a fashion even more awkward than before Zed was still happy but very, very self conscious of his poor upbringing and how desperately he just wanted to make a good impression. “Yes the Alphess is pretty but do not use flattery to try and get what you want.”
“But you said flattery gets you- “Never mind what I said! There is a time and a place Wye! You can‘t just go asking for food like that, there are rules and protocol to follow.”
“But that stuffs bor- “Shush.”
He then lowered his head to the pups ears. “Have you not caught the air around here? Have you not smelt it? HE, the only one who can ever call her pretty, He is gone. Wye what did I tell you about using your nose before your tongue… And Wye, it isn’t grammatically correct to put your own name before another’s.”He tried to be subtle about what he had known for a while now. He even tried to cover over his explanations by pointing out poor grammar. His tail drooped, as did the rest of his form. He wanted to leave so badly now that he’d done so much wrong. He was good with people, with pups but sometimes Wye made it harder. He loved Wye so much he just hoped the whelp hadn’t caused offence. Things had gone wrong so soon. Giving a soft nudge to the little pup the two knew then. They bowed so very low to apologise. It was up to these two now whether they stay or leave. Zed just wanted them to know he was sorry for their pain and the actions his own self and accomplice had given today in Nigori. Hopefully they would still have a home.

Z e p h o r a Zephora watched the exhcnage between the two males with a mind of curiosity, though the features of the majestic dame betrayed them in her thoughts, fo her expression was stoic and serious as ever. She looked upon the young whelp as well as its elder before turning upon her packmate. Ignoring the quarrel, she stepped back from the males once and twisted her skull faintly to look upon Zeireigna. "This is Zereigna, and I am Zephora, the alphess of these lands as you already know." she said, though her vision then slipped low to wath the young whelp. "Manners, little one... While here, you will learn them. But we'll focus upon such while you gain a full belly." she told him. Looking back up towards the whelp's elder, the female's expression relaxed to a certain extent, smile sliding along her lips as she then gave a soft dip of her head. "We'd love to have your company here in Nigori." she told him, then looking upon Zereigna with a soft perk of her ears. She deeply appreciated what the young female was doing, for she knew that she couldn't do everything on her own. Despite being so young, Zereigna had shown to be rather wise, smart, and very helpful. Gently lowering her head to near the ears of Zereigna with her lips, the fae softly whispered. "Thank you for coming with me." to her, and before long her head was held high again. Looking back upon the two males again, she then stepped off to the left side once and gave a light sway of her tail. "I was just giving my young their breakfast, but once they're settled down with a sitter, I'm sure we can figure out something for breakfast, yes? she said, letting her ears swivel forward upon the crown of her downy head.
