Z e p h o r a It had all seemed to happen so fast... One day she'd been wandering this place when she came across the handsome brute of which she'd fallen deeply in love with, her wonderful Kerrigan... the next she was pregnant with his pups and soon bearing them as he cooed in her ear, and then he was gone.... He was gone, the love of her life and reason why she woke up with a smile.. Her Kerrigan... Kerrigan who's eyes she constantly got lost within, who's voice could soothe her no matter how upset she was, and who's loving touch let her know that she was safe and spoke of how much he loved her. As she wandered through Nigori she couldn't help but remember everything about him, from his scent to his taste, to how he felt and the things he'd used to say to her. She remembered his fangs, and how powerfully he could use them, yet how tender he was when he used them to caress her coat and soothe her. His voice, his touch, his everything.... she missed it. Nights were now cold, though she had their welps to curl up with, but having lost the love of her life, Zephora was having a hard time as of late. No, she never let the others know of the fact that she was a mess without her beloved, and yes she remained strong and vigilant, doing whatever she could to help the pack and defend her boarders in any and every way... But she missed him and her heart that had once danced to a beat of its own, was now heavy and broken with ache and longing for her darling Kerrigan to come back.
Yes, she was deep in mourning, but even so she still understood that she had duties to uphold. She had a family and pack to run, and she would do those things. Her eyes then scanning the area about herself, her ears then ticked forth to listen to a breeze that moved about her. For a moment she thought she could hear his burr upon the winds, but it was there and gone far too soon. His scent lingered in Nigori, as it always would, and in knowing this it gave her a bit of comfort. A sigh slipped past her lips as she continued to wander through the marsh, checking upon the waters and such as well as looking for some food for herself. The welps had been left back at the den with packmates to watch them, and though she didn't like leaving them without her company, she knew that in order to keep them healthy she needed to hunt.
Hunting was also a good opportunity for her to step out and stretch her legs, as well as have some time to herself. Stepping down a slope towards a pathway of water that swept its way through the land, she eased her head down and let her delicate tongue sweep through the cool liquid. It felt good to gather up a drink, and with her ears eased back and eyes partially closed, that's what she did, looking much reminiscent of a goddess as the forest light traced its beams over her downy pelt, accenting the pureness of her color. Satisfied, she soon eased herself to rest by the waters as she looked upon its reflection, wondering just where she should take to hunting, but as she did so she noticed something. Her reflection.. no longer was it whole, but only partial, revealing only half of her face; she was incomplete. Ears of white velvet swept back upon her soft mane, but she soon looked away from her reflection to gaze about the area. Nigori ws different without her beloved, but at the same time she had a feeling that he was still here... that he was somehow watching her, and that he'd watch over their whelps as the two drappa's grew up. "I love you, Kerry'.... so very much..." she spoke softly, as if he were there to hear it, but alas there was no "I love you" back... only a cool breeze that curved its way about her before sweeping off into the rest of the land. Eventually she rose back to her feet and continued on, then looking ahead and tensing just a little as she saw some marsh buck gallop before her. Before long she'd taken chase, and with a shift of her wings, she was lofted up into the air. Now soaring above the buck she watched as it slowed, thinking that it was safe. Her ears swept back as it then looked about the meadow straight below her, but its serenity was then broken as she dropped down like a raptor to scoop it up. A cry was let loose from the lungs of the buck as her massive weight collapsed upon its back, her bite taking hold of its throat, but soon enough all fell quiet again, her wings keeping the beast beneath her from leaving. It seemed that her kill was interrupted though as she heard a sound coming from behind her, though she stayed rather still atop of the buck to listen. Just who was it that was watching her take down this meal?

"I am no longer alone" Sabbath
nigori - beta - fire - mated ”I’d give you my heart And let you just hold it” ”I’d give you my soul But I already sold it” xxxxx Things had not been the same, nor would they ever return. It had been tragic to find out that the head of this land, the brute who built it from the ground up after the previous alpha had destroyed this land, was dead. The first varg to give her acceptance; to not hate her simply because she was hellish in looks, was dead. The alpha who gave her a rank she had once lost in her previous pack, a thing she never thought she'd witness again, was dead. Kerrigan was dead. It seemed to have struck the land cold. In that instant, as the news was passed to the pack, Nigori seemed to hold its breathe. Nothing moved, no flora or fauna dared to shift until Nigori sucked in a breath and cried out in pain. And then all at once, the world seemed to slow down and it hadn't picked back up.
Sabbath hadn't been the same. Yes, she still shared her den with her love, but everytime she gazed upon the widowed alphess, Sabbath couldn't help but think that at any moment in time, Alev too, could die. Her heart ached for Zephora, such a beautiful fae and possibly the best thing to happen to Nigori- her becoming its alphess. But as she was in pain, showing or not, Sabbath wanted nothing but to ease Zephora's troubles. Sabbath was helping more than usual at making sure the camp was running smoothly, that every varg did their job and did it right. And every night when she would curl up beside Alev, she would tell him of her pain from losing a great friend. And he would lay with her, whether she cried or not, and give her support, whisper sweet nothings into her ears. But if she hadn't cried then, she would at that moment, knowing that Zephora had lost this- lost the love of a mate.
Up in the early morning, Sabbath had been watching the land, curled up in the same place above her den where she had been when Kerrigan had called her to him to make her betess. The memory brought a warm feeling to Sabbath and as the light from the sun hit her pelt and gave her warmth, it reminded her of the strength that Kerrigan used to protect this land. So, as she watched Zephora leave, Sabbath quickly checked around the camp, making sure the pups were taken care of. It wasn't that she didn't trust Zephora in making sure they were safe, but Sabbath's brain forced her to check on the alpha-pups. Part of it was as a good friend to the late Kerrigan. Part of it was as the betess of the pack. And the last part was fear of the past- fear that the pups would perish and Sabbath would lose another pack. So checking on the pups was sort of Sabbath's way of checking her sanity.
After knowing that the pups were safe, Sabbath proceeded to follow the trail of Zephora. She only wished to know that her alphess was safe, that she wouldn't lose another one. She caught up to the alphess, just as the chase ensued on a marsh buck. But, seeing Zephora take to the skies - placing a tinge of jealousy within Sabbath's mind - she decided to follow the buck. She did not chase it, but trailed behind, knowing somewhere within her mind, that Zephora was not about to give up a chase she had started. And oh yes, was she right. Powerful, and showing just exactly why - besides being Kerrigan's mate - she was alpha, Zephora took the buck down with a certain grace that few could behold when hunting. But somehow, she managed to do it.
Half-way smiling, Sabbath approached the fae, nodding her head with respect. "Greetings, Alphess." She greeted the massive wolf. It was around large wolves like Kerrigan had been, and like Zephora was, that Sabbath had a moment of doubt. Sabbath was so small, and yet, she was able to be the betess to this pack run by giants. Why? was the thought that would flash across her mind, but quickly it would be brushed aside. "I'm so sorry about your loss, our loss, the pack's loss... he was a great varg and the children will be told stories of him and he will never be forgotten as long as Nigori stands strong." She spoke, her tail curling up behind her, only to unfurl and brush against the ground. Kerrigan would never be forgotten, and Sabbath could only promise her that.

Z e p h o r a Voice of another soon tainted the air, but with a quiet breeze that flowed through the area, Zephora soon recognized the scent as none other than Sabbath. Her muscles that had been somewhat tense seemed to relax at the sound of her lovely betess' voice, and her bite upon the buck relaxed as well, knowing that she didn't need to guard it. Elevating her head only to turn and gaze upon the beautiful hellioness, one of the first smiles she'd had in a while lit her muzzle. "Greetings dear Sabbath." sounded her soft voice, thick presence of her tail then giving a soft swish through the air. For once, she was glad to see someone alongside of her at this hunt, for she'd been alone by herself for a bit too long.
Letting her form then rock back till her rump settled upon the loam behind her, she allowed her plume to then curve its way about her. Ears of white velvet were faintly tugged to face behind her, but soon motioned forward just a touch before relaxing again. The words of her betess now filled her ears, and Zephora gently clamped down upon her lower lip, her gaze resting low upon the ground as she listened in thought. She'd not cry, no.. she'd not cry at all, not before the betess. Lashes flashing down over her moist eyes, her vision then returned to the face of the betess as she gave a soft nod of her head. "Thank you, Sabbath. Your words mean a lot to me... especially in these times of great pain and loss..." she said. "Nigori's king will always be Kerrigan, for he's what makes Nigori our home. And though he's gone, I can sense he's still here..." she spoke softly, then looking about them to the marsh that surrounded them. "Sometimes I hear his voice in the wind, or I'll be wandering and catch his rich scent... and though he's passed away, I have a feeling that he's still somewhere within the marsh watching us. Watching over our children and the pack." she said, eventually turning back to look upon Sabbath. "We'll be okay.. For though his body is cold and his eyes no longer see, his spirit is still strong and protects Nigori." she said, then glancing down upon the buck. She glanced back to Sabbath before gently nudging the buck towards her with the touch of her right paw. Changing subject, to keep herself from thinking too deeply, she perked her ears. "I've but only just taken this buck down not too long ago, would you like to eat some of it? I was going to bring it back to the pack for a family meal." she said with a soft flash of her tail. Yes.. family. That's what Nigori pack felt like... Each wolf had their differences, whether it be personality, appearance, past or present, but they were what made Nigori so special. They all gave it a sense of home; a sense of family.
