Name: Aeryth
Nicknames: None (yet)
Age: Seven
Gender: Male
Desired Pack: Toko Forest
Desired Rank: No rank desired, he simply wishes not to be alone.
Looks: The best word to describe this wolf might be "ordinary". Aeryth is a timber wolf and has nothing in his breeding to mar the traditional image. He may be a little lanky, might be a little slim for a male of his species, but the short ears and the long muzzle and the thick coat all pretty much scream "wolf". He is a ruddy, smudged color - his wiry fur is a tumble of reds and browns and dark colors, though lighter underneath, as would be appropriate in dense woods that experience all seasons. Aeryth is rather concerned with his appearance and keeps himself up to maintain a clean and polite first impression. One might notice upon speaking with this wolf that he does tend to wear his heart on his sleeve, so to speak. He has an expressive face and does not attempt to hide what he is feeling. Beyond emotion, however, he wears no ornaments or decoration and has no unusual scars or markings. Aeryth is a timber wolf, and what you see is what you get.
Power: Aeryth discovered at a young age that he had the unusual ability to move water through its phases, from solid to liquid to gas. With concentration, he is able to freeze a puddle into a block of ice or, if he so desires, Aeryth is able to melt the ice again and then reduce the liquid water to a cloud of steam. This uniqueness seems to be tied to his moods - something the level-headed wolf often forgets - and if he is not careful to exert control, odd circumstances have been known to arise when anger or goodwill have overtaken the wolf's better judgment. Aeryth's power is rather limited, as he has always been rather unimpressed with his own talents and has never taken the time to really develop the skill. Unless asked, he generally does not explore his talent and prefers to think of himself as a "normal" wolf. As a result of disuse, his ability is perfect only within a certain radius; if the source of water were to move to a distance, Aeryth would be unable to manipulate it. Similarly, water that is moving with great speed or momentum creates difficulty for his talent. For example, a puddle or pond is simple to manipulate, where an avalanche or river swollen with snowmelt is quite difficult for him to control.
Eyes: It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. This wolf's eyes are a rather unexciting shade of gray, though he wears expression unrestrained on his face and his eyes are quite telling, especially in surprise or anger. The right eye appears clouded when seen in low light; Aeryth is blind in that eye, the result of a scratch that did not heal well, though it is never something he will offer about himself unless asked directly. No one has yet noticed, therefore no one has yet asked, and the wolf continues to go about his business as usual.
Wings: Aeryth does not have wings
Personality:: As mentioned in his description, Aeryth wears his heart on his sleeve. He is relatively quick to trust strangers, especially females. In general, this wolf cares deeply about others and maintains strong loyalty to an organized pack. This quality, however, also means that he takes betrayal - whether real or imagined - very seriously, and although he initially trusts easily it is extremely difficult to build that trust back once it has been broken. Aeryth is a little shy and can be reserved when meeting new creatures. Once friendship has been established, he is careful and caring and will put others before himself, always. In his previous life as a member of a pack, not all of his packmates exhibited powers; as a result Aeryth is rather shy of his abilities and does not use them often or in front of an audience - the consequence of ridicule and teasing. He is a thinker, and will carefully consider his thoughts before speaking, especially when asked to offer advice. This wolf is patient and forgiving, and he is not uncomfortable with quiet. Rather, he puts great value on the ability to sit with another in silence and understanding. Aeryth tends to do well with pups, although they make him a little uncomfortable sometimes because he is not entirely sure how to handle young inquiring minds - seeing Aeryth as a pupsitter is quite the comical sight. He has a quiet sense of humor and a happy-go-lucky attitude and wants nothing more than to brighten your day or offer a shoulder to lean on. When Aeryth reflects upon his past, he can become a little reticent, or distant, or troubled. He tries to use a child-like wonder of the world to push his past from him, but a desire to understand brings him back. Fairness and kindness are paramount to this wolf.
History: Aeryth's mother was the alpha female of a pack that ranged along the far distant coastline. During her pregnancy - for reasons that she never shared with Aeryth - the pack was disbanded. The expecting mother traveled inland to an allied pack and was taken in. Aeryth never met his father, nor learned of his sire's life; it was something no one ever spoke about. But he and his siblings, a sister and two brothers, were adopted into the new pack and grew up without knowing any other life. Aeryth was loyal from a young age. He and his littermates were only a few months younger than the litter of the pack's alphas, and Aeryth grew to idolize the alpha pair's only son. When their son chose to be a warrior for the pack, Aeryth knew he would also choose that path. He soon learned to be an honest fighter, though Aeryth was a better diplomat - this skill earned him a place on nearly every peacemaking mission that his alpha embarked upon. Eventually, that same skill became the reason Aeryth abandoned his pack.
About three springs before Aeryth's arrival in Aelyn, he and a team of ambassadors went with his alpha to greet the leaders of a new pack that had taken up residence nearby. After several days of travel, they arrived and were greeted with kindness. Aeryth's alpha met with the new pack's leaders and discussed terms of alliance; Aeryth was present at the meeting, and was pleased with the outcome. All parties satisfied and friendly, Aeryth and his ambassadors returned home. The warriors drilled through the summer season - if their routine was more demanding than it had been in years passed, Aeryth failed to notice. He was content in his place. In the fall of that year, his pack's alpha called the warriors together. Aeryth gathered with his fellows and learned that they would be marching on an enemy to defend their livelihood. So the pack marched, and fought, and won. But the "enemy" was the same new pack that Aeryth had negotiated with that same springtime, and their easy defeat stood testament to their peaceful nature. The young wolf could not ignore the betrayal of his alpha or the blatant disregard for the agreement between the packs. All winter, Aeryth struggled with what he felt, looking for answers. But the celebration of the pack's victory held not a shade of remorse. Unable to accept his alpha's deceit, Aeryth quietly walked away from the pack on the first day of spring, and has never turned back. Sometimes, on quiet mornings and especially in autumn, Aeryth remembers. But he has never been able to forgive himself, and seeks to be always kind in testament.
Parent Description:
Mother: A small timber wolf with a coat in black and white and all shades of gray in between. Her name was Miara, and she was formerly an alpha female, more recently adopted as a member of the Gyral Ridge pack, where she raised Aeryth and his siblings. Miara never shared her history prior to joining her new pack and pretended ignorance of Aeryth's father.
Father: Aeryth never knew his father, nor was he ever able to learn anything about the wolf beyond his breeding: Aeryth's mother always asserted that he and his siblings were full-blooded timber wolves. That is all that Aeryth knows of his father.[/blockquote]
Mate:Aeryth does not have a mate.
Pups:This wolf has no pups
Zodiac Sign: Aquarius[/size]
