"My monsters are far worse than yours" Ruh
”You come around When you finally face this” ”You come around When you find me faceless” xxxxx Where had he gone? Ruh knew that he used to play all sorts of games with the wolves of the plains. Messing with their minds and their emotions. It was always so fun to watch someone twist and contort as he told them the truth of what they were feeling, doing, or thinking. Apparently, they liked being lied to. Did he love them? No, and he told them so. Did he consider them friends? No, and he told them so. But they wanted his false heart and his crumbled trust. But his heart was small, something that no one would have ever gotten, and his trust had been killed as Neamhord had killed his family. His father, his brother, his mother. All dead and with them, his life.
At least, that's what he used to think. But Lucid had called out- join or die. And Ruh had run. Lucid reminded him so much of the terror that Neamhord caused Ruh in his nightmares. But running to the Forest had been the best thing- because he met Minou. Yes, many wolves nowadays were good looking, but Minou had an elegant pride to her that drew Ruh's eyes and dragged his trust out of Neamhord's grasp, kicking and screaming. They had played a twisted version of twenty questions and never had he told anyone as much as he did that day. Still, to this day, barely anyone in the pack knew him. He was just the figure on the walls, watching silently and waiting. For what, no one could figure out, not even Ruh himself. But with the mundane routine of pack life - patrol, hunt, lounge, sleep, patrol, hunt, lounge, sleep - the nightmares had grown less and less. Neamhord had slowly begun to fade from his mind along with the sight of his brother dropping to the ground. Alee shouldn't have died that way. But back to Minou and their questions and answers. He hadn't played any mind games with the feathered fae, he hadn't tried to pull whatever answer she gave into the open and give it open heart surgery. He had commented, maybe asked a side question, and then let sleeping dogs lie. Was Ruh simply starting to lose himself, or was he just beginning to find what he really was?
Ruh sighed and stretched out his limbs upon the large rock he had found in the center of a clearing. The new spring sun was beating down kindly on him, making his coppery pelt shine just the slightest. It used to be that Ruh knew where he was going in life, but ever since that day, Ruh can no longer see himself in the future anymore. Laying his paws in front of him, he rest his head on his paws, his ear flicking and causing the small bell on his ear to ring the slightest. And there was a jump in the forest as prey that had gotten too close scattered at the sound. The caused a grin to grace Ruh's features- the forest still feared him.

Hunting.
A way of life for these animals. Hunting was how they got food, how they exercised, how they bonded. Hunting was a pastime. Something to do when one got bored, a way to alleviated the pressure of the day. Hunting was an escape. The time spent focusing the mind, making it concentrate on one thing for hours allowed worries to disappear, pressing matters to become not a problem. It was a simple way, one that was provided at every opportunity. The pack needed to eat. Hunting could be used to be cruel, to kill thoughtlessly for personal pleasure. This was an odd idea, one she had never understood. To kill for a reason, but enjoy it so. It was a death to fed a life, but it was sorrow to see something snuffed out. But all wolves felt the joy of blood. It was instinct, as most things were. But Minou had never found real, true pleasure in it. For her, hunting was almost a game. Not one for cruelty, but one for practice. She did not use her mental powers. That she considered cheating, and it burned to be connected when the soul fled. But she could let go, see how close she could get, see what skills she could employ. It was not a unique game, but one nonetheless. She did not have real fun usually, and the rush of adrenaline and excitement gave her a high nearly that of her flight. Or rather her falling.
She shifted her weight into her haunches, feet silent. The bright white toned blue coloration was enough of a problem with the stealth issue. She had to become quieter to help with that. her small, elegant shape made that easy, the seemingly frail thin bones making her a good stalker. Her current prey was a rabbit, feeding cautiously under a bush. She could smell it, not see it; sense it, but not hear it. The hare was there all right, wary of the wolves it could smell. But not wary enough to stop eating. Her tail twitched slightly, ears quivering atop her head and she stared without blinking at the leafy covering. She became so close, her nose was nearly under the plant, her slow, stalling movements keeping her out of the rabbits warning zone. The wind was playing nice today, moving her scent away. She pounced, more fox like for once, leaping over the bush and letting the rabbit flee before giving chase. She may not be cruel, but she was wolf.
Her slim bodice condensed as her hind legs came forward nearly to her ears. Her body was made to run as it was made to fly. Her large ribs cranked down, then popped up ass he breathed and her ears were flattened against her skull. The rabbit was in nearly the same position, running for it's life in zigzag lines. She leaped forward with a last burst of speed as the rabbit broke the cover and flashed across a clearing. Her jaws opened and she snatched the animal, nearly rolling over as she swerved in front of it. As it was, the rabbit set up a ruckus, kicking in her jaws until she bit down seconds later and a few tuffs of grass and moss were lifted from the ground by her claws. Her sides heaved, dragging in the rich air with a whistling sound through her nose. Her eyes were alight, the blue sharp and excited. She quivered. And then did so again before the bell caught her attention and her head whipped around. She rose slightly, tail lowered looking for the source of the sound. Then she relaxed, since she recognized the scent. Ruh.
The male was younger than she, but old in his soul. He was a gentle wolf, yes, sometimes, but also a hardened brute and she respected that in her own way. He had also captured her attention more than he should, and when he was around she knew it. It surprised her she hadn't noticed him before. Since he was sure to have seen her - how could he not have? - she clamped the hare tighter and trotted over, small paws nimble as she made her way over. She jumped on a tree trunk, one that had fallen and blinked up at him on the rock. A smile tugged at her mouth, slightly lopsided because of the rabbit before she set it down and licked her lips. "Want some?" she inquired, her voice rich, but more excited than it ever had been before. Adrenaline still coursed through her veins and the freedom of it made her so much younger.

"My monsters are far worse than yours" Ruh
”You come around When you finally face this” ”You come around When you find me faceless” xxxxx For a moment, the forest seemed silent and still, until a small patch of light movement caught his eyes. His dark green eyes slid in their orbits as they watched the fae approach. How could he not have noticed her right away? Had he been to wrapped up in his thoughts that just so happened to be about this wonderful fae? His grin widened as she hopped onto a fallen tree with a rabbit in her mouth. She was a strong varg- one that did not need others to look out for her. She could take care of herself and it was painfully obvious. She just had this air about her that drew Ruh in. He stood up as she offered him some of her kill, and who was he to refuse that offer? Shaking his pelt out to wake up his lazy muscles, he smoothly jumped from his perch upon the rock to the tree that Minou had choosen to stand on. He gave her a small nod and a chaming smile, "Az lon' az yurself woul'n't mindz, myself wou'd e'joy sharin'z with yurself." He spoke, sitting down in front of her. For a moment, he just let his eyes look at Minou. Her feathers were unique- never had he seen another wolf with feathers like such. She was sleek and slender and was definately an attractive wolf in his book. It was hard for Ruh to believe that no one had ever attempted to be her mate. And he wouldn't have believed it if the words had not come from Minou's mouth- he assumed that she wouldn't lie about something like that, possibly anything. He hoped she wasn't.

ooc - wolf, fer serious post a little longer. sorry to be a bitch, but i feel like i wasted my time with the other one :c and my post is crap because of it.
She tilted her head at the beast, studying him in the few seconds she had. He was a handsome male, if young...younger than she, if Minou remembered correctly. Not by much really, but still. He was growing out of his lanky, adolescent build, putting on more muscle every day in the forest. It was hard to remember what he looked like the day he'd come to ask for a home, but to her eyes it seemed his pelt had become less fluffy, more smooth. But that was probably just a lie. He was a interesting color, and his pattern was also different. Nothing odd, for she had seen some crazy stuff, but just a unique design. His copper pelt shone brightly like metal, but it was dampened by the white and black places on his body that weren't metallic. He was lanky and tall, bigger than her in both aspects. Not that it was rare to find a wolf that was built heavier than she. Minou was rail thin, willowy and long. And though she knew the male had his faults, his eyes were kind enough; at least when he looked at her they were.
She lifted an eyebrow as his rose to his feet, unsure what he was doing. And as he bounded onto the tree trunk she'd taken to make them sort of even, she snorted lightly. She let her eyes roll, an expression she barely allowed herself. There was more than enough space on the rock he'd settled himself on, and not nearly enough for two wolves to eat on this tree. 'Moron,'
she thought to herself fondly, and then she frowned slightly and brushed away that odd tone she'd given the thought. It was nothing. She rolled her shoulders and her serene face leveled out again. She listed as he spoke, used to his interest speak patterns. She huffed at him, her tail swinging. "Well, if you wanted to share you should have stayed on the rock. I'm not eating here," she said, in a rare show of spunkiness that was out of place. She picked the rabbit up and bounded onto the rock. Sun feathered her coat, enhancing the blue sheen as she sat on her rump in the center, blinking at him questioningly.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

"I need a second chance to forget" Ruh
toko - subordinate - speed - unmated ”Why give up Why give in” ”It’s not enough It never is” xxxxx Ruh was just a tad bit concerned with the look on her face as he leaped down to her. Was she disappointed? Surely he was being a gentleman, coming to the fair maiden instead of making her come to him. So Ruh didn't know if he was more shocked at Minou's playful, spunky tone or at the fact that he had missed the obvious lack of space on the trunk. But he shook the look of surprise from his face and smiled wryly and somewhat fondly up at her. He couldn't help the feeling of his heart speeding up as she leaped away from him. This had been the first time that she hadn't been overly polite, and Ruh liked it. He hoped that he was one of the few, if not the only varg to see this wonderful side of Minou. She was so much more attractive when she had that smile on her face- something that Ruh was not afraid to admit that he thought about almost constantly. Her smile was addictive, and even if he could never be anything more than a friend to this fae, he wouldn't care as long as he got to see her smile.
Looking up to the rock that he had previously been perched upon, he let the smooth thought that she looked so much more radiant from this point of view, slither over his mind. The spring sun was kind and seemed to wash over her and the rock and Ruh didn't want to look away. He stared, no matter how creepy it might have been, this was an image that he didn't want to forget for a long time. The beautiful Minou could not be compared to the sun, she was far brighter and lit up the world more than the celestial body could ever hope to do. At least, that's what Ruh thought of her.
Letting a chuckle slip from his lips, he let another smirk crawl over his maw. "Myself apol'gize," He spoke, crouching and springing up to the rock, standing in front of Minou with a half smirk, half grin smacked across his face. "Fer azzum'in o'herwize." He felt a bit sheepish, not realizing that there was indeed no room down on the log. But he was more embarassed to realize that it was because he had been too caught up in the fact that Minou was there- he hoped that she wouldn't come to the same conclusion as he had. It wasn't something he wanted out in the open. He was hardly sure of what, if anything, she felt for him.
[word count: four hundred forty-eight [muse: better than last time [mood: delightful [ooc: sorry about that Ker, I didn't mean for it to be that short... guess my muse was dying of sleep deprivation. I hope this is better :D

Her smile turned a little tense as he stared at her in that way of his. Her ears angled back shyly at the look in his pale eyes. She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, unsure of his thoughts since she turned her own blue gaze away and to the rabbit at her paws. Her heart fluttered and she flattened her audits harder against her skull, tail curling around her paws as she pushed the feeling away. She was no lovesick pup and she wouldn't act like one. He was just a male. Nothing special. She ignored the little voice that said he was somehow and twisted her head back to him as he seemed to finish his little rendition of an owl and settle back into the Ruh she was used to. Relaxed way of being, a slow, deep voice and intelligent eyes. She didn't like sitting here alone while he watched her from below. What had she been thinking jumping up here? It made her feel like the center of attention, and while she was used to having eyes on her this was different, no matter how much she tried to convince herself it wasn't. She flicked her ears forward, her mood mostly gone and replaced by the genteel one that she usually held so close. She straightened her spine, her muzzle forming a pleasant smile as he spoke.
His smirking smile made her insides turn but she only wrinkled her nose at him, about to brush aside his apology. But he jumped in those brief seconds and even with the greater area of the rock he was close. Her skin heated and her muzzle dipped a bit as she moved slightly away from him. The blue of her nose was slightly pink on the edges, her pale white skin flushing interestingly under her fur. His sheepish tone was lost on her, caught up as she was, but she smiled tightly at him in response. She cleared her throat, a soft sound, before speaking. "It's perfectly alright. I shouldn't have been so brusque about it." Her tone was soft and smooth, rich and watery in the way only Minou had. She lowered her muzzle and shoved the rabbit to him, offering him the first bite since she'd lost the edge of her hunger for some odd reason. She wouldn't think about where it had gone. She flicked one ear back while the other stayed up and waited for him to speak or move or do something along those lines.
ooc - it's crap. sorry. no minou muse but i'm posting everywhere. i haven't gotten into the romance swing of things in months.
