Zephora stared long and hard off into the air before her, though it would have looked as if she were looking straight at Lydia. But despite the obvious choice, Zephora's eyes saw nothing. She was thinking. Her gaze then snapped back to attention as Lydia finished what she had to say, and it was then that she glanced upon her beloved and packmate with a forward swivel of her ears. "You can be killed if your head is removed, can you not? And what about your heart? Do you think you'd be rendered dead if someone found a way to impale you through the heart?"
she spoke, looking back to Lydia. "One thing I noticed while we were in their presences was that when near them, I found it exceedingly hard to use my gifts with them.... But I think it had something to do with those collars that were bound about their necks.. The female hated it when I tried to remove her own, and both of these wolves had them.... Do you think.. that if we found a way to destroy the collar/necklaces, it would aid in stopping them?"[/color] she spoke. Zephoras gaze then flitted back and forth between the two wolves before her. If they could do this without actually having to inflict harm upon Lydia, she'd do it that way. But there was another way that she could think of as well, but in order to do so she'd have to call upon an old packmate of hers. Where the packmate was, she had no clue, but if she needed to, she'd need to go out on a hunt by herself to seek them out. Her auricles swept back lightly at the thought of this, for she'd have rather not gone to them for such help, knowing just what they were capable of. . . . The very thought and memory of how she'd seen them slaughter was rather.. unnerving, but she soon snapped her attention back to those before her. That would be used as a last resort, but not for now. Her muscles twitched a bit as she looked back towards those before her, swallowing back the bile that had wished to slip past her maw from the thought of the wolf, but soon enough.. she was calm yet again, though her outwards facade had remained that of absolute seriousness. Kerrigan listened silently, taking in all Lydia spoke of. Beheading....not the greatest way. And he knew that from experience. But when you meant it the killing could be fun. He sighed, flicking a look to his mate even as his mind danced. The deep ache in his jaws, the need to grab flesh and the crunch down so hard it hurt. The thick, salty blood rushing over his muzzle, down his throat. Muscles quivering and the jerky motions and the sound of flesh tearing. Yes, he remembered it with a clarity that would scare anyone inside his head. And some part of him wanted to refresh his memory, to see if it still felt the same. His young days it had been a joy, and he was terrified to find out if he could still find that leaping strength from it. His eyes looked guilty and he turned away from Zephora because he knew. He knew if he had the chance, he would tear Lucid's head from his body and the throb of adrenaline would be so pleasurable. Nearly more so than his private time with his mate. He sighed roughly, not bothering to inform the others of why he did so.
Lydia paused a moment, her thoughts going inward as Kerrigan's had. As she pondered whatever was on her mind, whatever thought had caught her attention in this discussion, his brain whirled. Even if they knew how to kill him, Lucid would need more than one pack to take him down. They needed others. And they needed to tell the Nigori pack before that. And then Lydia spoke again. His eyes narrowed and his lips curled back. Bond? "Wi'h our luck 'tis both. Bu' we can use i' all 'he same," he rumpled, rubbing his muzzle on a front leg irritably. He shook his head and looked as his mate before hearing Lydia speak up with another option. Immediately his temper flared. Not a pouty temper like before, but real rage. A snarl slid from his muzzle and he stepped forward. There was no way one of his pack would be hurt. None! For her to think he would allow that...his ears flattened and he control the urge to snap her muzzle in his and imprint it into her that she was not a sacrifice. But it would hurt him more than it would her and he settled on barking.
"No! Tha' is no' an option! 'Twill fin' some'hin' else, bu' no' tha'! I am supposed ta pro'ec' me wolves and no one will be allowed to harm yew. Even yerself," he snarled, pupils almost gone in his lime eyes. His markings hissed and squirmed over his pelt and Kerrigan growled, turning his face away from both females, unsure why he was so volatile. His tail curled around one of his legs and he whipped back. "Logical 'hough i' is, I will no' consider i'." The restrained edge in his voice was blatantly apparent. His teeth gritted and he gave himself a jerky, brutal shake which had his vision darkening slightly. His mate's words finally connected with his mind. It was an option. But it would not be tested. He would not risk the death of Lydia for any reason.

Lydia turned her dark head toward her Alphess as she began to speak. She pondered for a brief moment about her statement before deciding to answer, looking into her past and seeing the different ways she had seen or even killed her own kind in the past. She sighed out loud before she replied.
"Sadly, I have tried this in the past. The only way I have seen one of my kind killed, that I can recall at this very moment, is through decapitation. If I can think of another way, I will let you know immediately. As for the collars, I'm sure that if we destroyed them in some way, that it would weaken them, but I fear they will still be powerful adversaries. If I recall, you had tried to take the gem from the females collar, did you not? And didn't it just reappear?" [/b] She sighed again as she looked to the ground. She needed to take time to test herself and to see what her own limits were, but these thoughts were shot down as she turned her attention to Kerrigan as he spoke up. She sighed again and nodded. She knew that Kerrigan would not agree with her statement, but she still felt that it would help the greater of all Aelyn if she could test her own limits. She flicked her tail in thought before sighing once more. "Yes, Kerrigan. I understand, and I will not do anything to harm myself to test this theory, though I still feel it would be for the greater part of Aelyn to do so. Sometimes, a lesson I've learned, sacrificing one for the greater of many is sometimes inevitable. However, since you are my Alpha, I will respect your request and I will not put this theory to test."[/b] She gave a respectful nod before pondering further. How else could they gain the upper hand against Lucid? There had to be other ways. She curled her dark tail around her paws and looked between her Alphas. "So what shall I tell the pack? Everything or just the basics?"[/b] She didn't want to speak about all she was, she hated sharing it with anyone, but she knew that the packlands needed to know what kind of threat they were up against and how to deal with it. She sighed once more.[/blockquote]
