The lands grew quiet, as if a change was happening. It was almost as if the lands were expecting something to happen... no birds sang, no creatures moved... the lands quieted themselves in anticipation for what could only be described as the unthinkable.
The silence, just when one might get used to it, was suddenly shattered by a loud, booming howl. "These lands, the Kumori Plains, are now joined with the Misuteriasu Mountain Packlands. Loners now traverse across lands that are claimed and must report to Lucid before doing anything more. Any challengers, please feel free to lead yourselves to your deaths. Any who wish to join the most powerful pack or join the leagues of the strong, speak with Lucid or Mira. These lands are now claimed for the Mountains and any challengers will be duly killed on the spot." It ended abruptly, but the effects of it still lingered.
The lands remained silent for only a few moments, before a burst of life erupted it from it, taking in and discussing what this all meant. ((Short post, but go ahead and react as your wolves would react to such a thing!))

Her ears twitched, her blood stained muzzle lowering close to the ground. She had known things within the Mountain pack had gotten bad, that their power hungry alpha was slowly seeking more but she had not thought he would be this bold. Her ears pricked and she pranced away from the half eaten rabbit, tongue swiping her muzzle nervously and her tail swishing along her thigh. What now? He had all the loners, any who left....she could not think of what the male would do with those who did not leave. They could receive an influx of wolves, or he would. She breathed out and stretched out her mind to find her packmates, also looking for Tyrome. Her alpha was younger than her, but he was a strong brute and he offered muscle and strength and new ideas while she gave him history and wisdom. Or that's whats he'd heard from others. She was only Betess and he may soon wish to replace her.
She snorted before bounding away from the dead animal, leaving it for the carrion bird that had already gathered. They quickly ripped into the body as the female loped away. Her pace was swift but that was not the way she was going to get to her destination. Her sides flared brightly and from the dark marks on her sides slide two giant wings. Each held feathers tipped with dark blue and covered in the smooth gentle blue of the rest of her body. Her head feathers were spiked in worry as she leaped high and her powerful wings beat down once, twice, thrice and she was airborne and above the trees. She tucked her tiny paws close to her chest and her muzzle stretched forward as her wings beat. No leisurely pace was this, but a fast dash toward her alpha to discuss the news all had heard. They all may know but the pack needed to consult.
She peered between the trees, circled the camp but once before landing with a solid thump, not her usually soundless style. She barked out a call, ears pricked, tail high, knowing Alpha Tyrome was in camp but not knowing exactly where.

Weylyn hadn't done much or been that social, not since Snowdrift disappeared. It was heartbreaking for him, but he tried his hardest to remain strong for their adopted pup, Karin. He wasn't sure how much it affected her, but he knew that it affected him greatly.
He had been on another lonely walk through the terrain, enjoying the lovely fall weather as the leaves changed color, almost as if they were shape-shifters themselves. Weylyn attempted a small smile at that correlation between him and the beautiful lands of Aelyn and the exceptionally colorful packlands that belong to the Toko Forest pack. He sighed silently to himself and continued to walk forward.
After a few moments, a small chill began to ride its way up his back, causing his hackles to raise ever-so slightly. An eerie feeling took hold of him as he realized the fauna around him had grown quiet and the leaves in the crisp fall trees didn't even make a sound, no wind blew. He raised his ears, straining them to catch even the slightest sound... but nothing. That is, until he was jolted and shocked slightly by the booming howl that seemed to overtake all of the packlands, and he assumed the rest of Aelyn. It carried with it a message that made his heart sink. His first thought was That could have been us... Without an Alpha, we could have been taken over.
This thought scared him and he quickly felt himself fill with a mild fear, but more of a hatred for this brute who would push other wolves out of their homes for his own personal gain. How could any wolf be so cold and heartless? He growled quietly before he figured it would be best to head toward the camp. Tyrome... or even Minou, would have something to say about this. He knew that Minou knew more about the lands, but Tyrome was a new alpha, about the age of Weylyn... and he hoped that Tyrome knew what he was doing and what he was getting into. He also wondered what had happened to Corrinth and whether or not he would attempt to take his leadership back, should he ever return. Weylyn thought, that no matter how much he may like Corrinth, that he was not fit for a leadership position if he were to keep disappearing like he tended to do.
Shaking his head, he thought of a hawk, and soon his body twisted itself and shaped itself into a hawk-like creature, but with his usual grey coat with white markings and the white star on his forehead. His goal, the camp, so he could figure out what was going to happen. He knew that this spelled trouble not only for their pack, but for other packs as well. Weylyn didn't know any of the other alphas or even any of the other pack-wolves, but his mind was beginning to think that their best bet for survival was to consult with the other packs.
He took to the sky, his hawk wings taking him as quickly as he could toward the sleeping area. Soon, he was in view, and his first wolf he saw was Minou. Slowly, he circled once, twice... before lowering himself and shifting back into his wolf form. His body twisted and he winced slightly as his body contorted itself. Shaking his fur once his transformation was complete, he gave a low bow to Minou.
"Greetings." He didn't know what else to say. He was sure she had heard the howl... who hadn't? Was there really a whole lot to say at this point without the Alpha present, or any of the other pack-wolves for that matter? He sighed slightly and looked at his betess, a slight look of worry in his eyes.

The forest floor was teeming with little creatures that were running away. There was a sound that terrified the whole forest. A young brute was walking, his ears perked at the sound, it sounded far away but how it shook the forest. The young brute wasn't travelling alone, but he still waited for his counter part. but this brute did say he would check the primeter, because they were looking for a place to call home. Seems like him and his friend came at the wrong time.
He looked around and heard what this howl is about. These lands are now claimed for the Mountains and any challengers will be duly killed on the spot." The brute listened and wondered who Lucid was.
The brute ran quickly back to his counter part howling to him! " It sounds bad! Who's Lucid? He's saying something about loners, and they need to choose where they are going to a pack." The brute looked around, still running through the forest floor, every bush slapped him in the face, the floor was squishy from the night before, but it didnt stop him getting to safety to his friend. he wondered what them two were going to.

Eli's lithe body made quick progress through the underbrush, following his fearful companion. The red stripes upon his muzzle seemed to light the way as he loped forwards, his tail swishing delicately from side to side. True, the howl that had rocked the lands of Aelyn had shaken him, yet it gave him an insight, a goal. Who was this Lucid indeed? And how did he become so powerful as to claim those lands that cannot be claimed? He wanted to find a little of that power for himself.
He gave a little grin as he ran, just about keeping up with Toboe as Toboe ran ahead. Eli kept the young wolf in his sights, never letting him run too far away, but he slowed to a more leisurely pace. Yes of course he understood the urgency, but he didn't want to appear spooked in front of the alpha, if anything he wanted to make a good impression. Eli's position was not that of a warrior, more of a mage but he could fight and fight well if need be. Well...not well, but certainly not clean. He had a few tricks up his sleeve.
"We need to find the alpha Toboe, though his scent is old here. I wonder..." He trailed off, thoughtful as he approached his companion. Slowly, Eli looked around, checking the air for scents of pack wolves. There was a small gathering not far off; perhaps they would know at least a little of the alpha and the howl. He certainly scented a beta female roaming around. He could not smell Yuki though...
"A beta female, to the east? Perhaps we should head over there" He suggested to Toboe, pointing with his paw the direction he scented the fae.
~
The air was cold here. Though the thick canopy of the forests kept the main cold from penetrating into the forest floor, it was still cold. The little wolf's high metabolic rate pumped the blood quickly through his body as he flew beneath the bare trees. Some did not shed their leaves in winter, so he kept near those trees, but the winter cold was bitter and hit him hard in his tiny state. His tail flickered enthusiastically to keep his body temperature up, his wings frosting and threatening to freeze in the cold air. His breath came out in steamy gasps.]
If that weren't enough, this howl he had heard, echoeing through the lands, stinging his sensitive little ears, this howl was a threat. The lands of Toko were not as direct as those of Nigori, bordering the Kumori plains, but they were still in trouble. They all were if Lucid were to go so far as to claim the lands set down by the ancestors as for only the loners. Their lands would be flooded with these loners now, and that thought made him shiver.
Loners were loners for a reason. Some were not sound of mind, some were cannibalistic, some thought it better that they should stay away from civilisation and for this reason Xeno worried. The loners would move to their lands, their packlands. They would mess up the natural order of things, they would bring complications to the harmony of the packs.
A little selfish for Xeno to be thinking this, but he had had enough of change for one lifetime. Personally, he would like to keep it the way it was, but he would welcome newcomers as always. His wings beating impossibly fast for even one so small as he, he zipped towards the scent of the other wolves, familiar scents mixed with the scents of loner wolves that he had not yet met...he gulped apprehensively.
Perhaps there would be loner pups, he loved pups. He could tell them stories and hear them laugh. He smiled at this thought and slowed as he reached the den area, the warmth emanating from it clearly. A part of him wanted to snuggle up there and forget the recent troubles, but the better part of him forced his tired wings onwards. Soon he came up to the meeting area, where some wolves had gathered, puzzled and frightened looks upon their faces. He figured a similar look was plastered upon his own face, the truth was, what was to become of them?

Her ears tipped back, confused. No Tyrome? When she tested the feeling she'd had that he was in camp she found it was a fake. Sometimes the mind, the spirit left an impression when the body was still long enough. Tyrome was always in his den for long periods of time, sleeping. She'd thought he was there from her brief scan, but on further inspection, it was but a residue. Her tail lowered slightly, and she threw her mind out across the pack lands, the span vast for her power. Nothing. She didn't meet her alpha's mind. A shiver of fear and knowing crept up her slim spine. Not another Corrinth. She prayed for that. And she also prayed he wouldn't come back. If he just left them, didn't leave her constantly hoping for the alpha to return, unsure of him, it would be harder on her. Harder on the pack. It was a harsh reality, but for her dainty exterior, she knew what needed to be done.
But as Weylyn gathered, she only smiled tightly in greeting, not speaking, waiting for others. Waiting for Tyrome. But in her heart, in the knowing part of her soul she just knew he wasn't returning. Or not as an alpha. A cruel, angry loathing slid through her, but was gone just as fast. She would have to deal with this. If they were to be left without an alpha in this trying time, she would do what had to be done for her pack. Her tail flicked as another one of her wolves came through the trees. Xeno. She looked at him, then at herself and the other wolves gathered. She lifted her head, doing a sweep for Tyrome. Still nothing. But she felt two other wolves. A Toboe and an Eli if she wasn't mistaken. The names floated at the cusp of each wolf's mind, easy to get without even trying.
She shook her head, not recognizing them, but expecting them all the same. They would be here for a pack. Lucid's threat would carry far and wide. She would be ready for a new flood of wolves. A sigh whispered from her maw, the first sound from the female. She settled her gaze on each wolf. "Tyrome is...not here. I don't know why. But I, as Beta, take charge of the pack. We do not need another alpha like Corrinth. Tyrome is no longer our leader," she said shortly, sadly. Her ears flicked forward again. The pack knew she would have checked the whole land with her powers. And for her to denounce an alpha, it was a big deal. "We have heard Lucid's call. We are not weak, no matter that no alpha leads us. We will have loners, some better than others. Do not be afraid to chase off those that are unfit. Do we have questions? Anyone." The last was a sort of plea. Minou needed to be able to do something to help.

Toboe listened to what Eli had to say about the alpha's scent and by god, it was an old scent. " Yeah your right, maybe we need to move on. It seems to me that the scent has been here a while" He wondered if the scent was in the air all along but then again, with all the commustion was going on, there were bound to be loads of different scents around belonging to different wolves. Toboe looked to Eli. " Yeah i can smell power from this old scent, but then again there's loads of different scents and different emotions."
Toboe smelt the air again, the emotions that were flying through the air was mostly scared, panicky and lost wolves. He shivered and wondered if the lost wolves found each other. He looked back to Eli who looked like he was sniffing the air to, even before Toboe went into Sherlock Holmes but in wolf form. The his ears perked towards his travel buddy. "A beta female, to the east? Perhaps we should head over there" He nodded and smelt the air. This beta female was in range, seeming very calm, maybe she was helping the other wolves, that seemed to be range next to her. Toboe wondered if they'll stay there and hopefully Eli and himself would meet. How Eli was pointed with his paw, he knew that they'd better get a move on before she starts moving again and they loose her scent. Toboe jumped in front and suggested with a side head motion to go and find her.

Hexxus and his odd colored red and Grey pelt moved threw the trees without stopping, the vines literally parting as he moved his speed intensifying with each burst of movement till his pelt changed from its red and Grey to a sudden Ruby red. He was on recon duty of one of the older trails when the call from the mountain pack leader, he didn't like it and knew it sounded bad news. As he moved threw the brush, twigs, and limbs that were covered in ice snapped showing down around him, causing quite a ruckus but he didn't care his only thought was to get back.
He finally came to a spot of brush leading to the camp, and hit it head on like a bulldozer as a shower of twigs, branches, shards of ice, and a shower of snow exploded outward for several feet. Hex then skidded to a stop panting slightly. his tung was lolling out one side of his mouth, and his breath becoming a heavy vapor in the frigid air. "Greetings Beta Minou." He said his tone serious but calm as he bowed to her showing her respect before turning into a guard stance but also that of a submission stance, his undieing loyalty to the higher ups already becoming visible as he stood there. His Earth elemental energy started to build up inside and around him, this would be a plus now that he had perfected his attacks and defence moves, but depending on what or who showed up would depend on what was going to be used.
Despite his quickness to get to the camp he missed her little speech only seconds earlier. He was unaware the Alpha was missing, and she had just claimed the place of Alpha. However he did ask. "What are your orders My-lady." His words seemed to have a serene calm tone to it, but on the inside of his body he raged for a fight, while outside his look was that of a dormant volcano just waiting to erupt. After that Hex said nothing more, and simply waited for orders if told to fight he would do so and fight with the honor he did all these years.
