Zircon smiled slightly at the falling snow that seemed to make the waterfall lands hold so much more majesty and beauty. The one place he thought couldn't get any more beautiful and wondrous continued to surprise and amaze him as he stepped from behind the icy falls into the bold moonlight. He took a deep breath, enjoying the way the crisp air filled his lungs, before making his way down the pathway and onto the frozen lake.
Though he thought these lands were beautiful, they also terrified him, for his element was easily conducted by the lands beautiful cascades of water. Only one thing caused him to hold his place within these lands, and that was his beloved Obsidian. He would go to the ends of the earth for his mate, and thus he remained because he was accepted here and because his mate seemed to feel more at home here.
He tread carefully upon the water, careful to listen to the ice and to assure he didn't fall through. Once nearing the middle of the vast lake, an object on the other side caught his eye, glinting from the moonlight above. He tilted his dark head to the side, flicking his head to remove the dark bangs that fell into his face out of his view to better see this shimmering treasure.
Slowly, he padded forward, his steps careful and light as he made his way across the rest of the frozen tundra that was the lake. His eyes never left the frozen image before him, causing his steps to grow slightly careless. Once realizing what it was, he had instant plans for it, of breaking the hardened stem from the small bush that remained and giving the frozen rose to his lover as a romantic gesture. A soft smile fell on his face at the very thought, causing him to lose track of his footing. Soon, his foot fell through a soft patch of ice and he found himself scrambling to stay out of the water the best he could.
Thoughts raced through his mind... would he see Obsidian again? What if he drowned? Zircon worked his hardest to stay out of the frozen water, but soon created a larger hole in the soft area of ice. He whimpered slightly as his whole hind end became submerged in water. The electricity upon his body began to conduct itself throughout the entire underside of the ice, causing the water beneath it to make the lake glow a bright electric blue as bolts of lightning coursed under the frozen surface.

A sharp pain coursed through Obsidian's heart as he sensed fear emanating from the lake. Instantly he knew something bad had happened---he never felt strong emotions as such if it wasn't from somebody he was close to. Quickly Obsidian rose from his resting place and sniffed the air, tracking the scent of Zircon who was not resting next to him. Panic took him as he leapt into the sky and fanned his wings, stirring up the dusty snow as his body raised from the frigid ground. Once he was high enough above the trees, Obsidian could see bright blue flashes under the lake. It almost seemed like a beacon was shining beneath the surface; however, it was not something that usually happened. The brute's heart began to thump in his chest when he noticed the seeping hole in the jagged ice not far from the flashpoint of the light.
"ZIRCON!" the fiery wolf cried as he dived down toward the ice and delicately landed on the surface. Nervousness took him when he realized that he was dealing with the water element---something that was very unhealthy for him due to his fiery properties. The last time he encountered water was when he was a small pup, the difference was that it was an avalanche in the mountains, not actual liquid water. Obsidian ended up becoming fatally sick due to his body heat being sucked away by the snow.
Obsidian could not delay any longer, he had to take action. Zircon was drowning and he would not allow his lover to die. With one swift motion, Obsidian dove into the perforation that swallowed Zircon. Instantly sharp pain stabbed at every inch of his body due to the electrical currents blazing through the water. Not only that, but the water itself began to take its toll on Obsidian's vital systems---the fire within him slowly died. He had never swam before, but he figured out that he could project himself more quickly through the flashing liquid by flailing his wings as in flight.
In the distance he could see Zircon skimming the bottom of the ice, and the closer Obsidian swam the more pain and weakness he experienced. He knew he could not falter, the well-being of Zircon was paramount. While using his legs and wings to thrust himself through the water faster the wolf rose above his lover. Swiftly he grabbed onto the back of his lover's neck with his maw and flapped his wings with all his might. The combined weight of both wolves was enough to break the ice above them.
Water drained from their fur as Obsidian carried Zircon toward shore. Instantly, the brute fell to the ground and began coughing profusely, his lengthened exposure to water nearly blotted out the fire within. His wings and back bled as jagged ice chunks from breaking through the lake glittered down his fur along with the blood trickling from his wounds.

”There’s something I’m missing from long ago" Egypt
”I always say How I don’t need you” ”But it’s always gonna Come right back to this” xxxxx Egypt normally could sleep the whole night through, and if Imha or pups permitted him, long into the afternoon as well. He was one who could bask in the sunlight for hours on end, just absorbing the warmth of the sun. But alas, it was winter, and therefore, he curled closer to his mate to keep himself warm. He picked up his head breifly, looking about as he heard a noise. But upon seeing nothing out of place (at least that he could see), he scooted closer to his large mate and closed his eyes.
Yet, a particularly loud cry went through the air and Egypt was up without a second thought. His parental instincts kicking in as he fled from his den. He ignored Imha's indignant cries at the loss of warmth and ignored him yelling at him to come back. Egypt couldn't ignore such a cry and ran forward toward the lake. He knew it was dangerous this time of year, the ice would be soft in parts, making slipping under an easy death for a wolf.
It was there, he spotted the two wolves upon the shore, looking worse than death itself and he quickly made his way over to them. He was speechless, unsure what to do as it seemed that these two brutes were clearly not made for water. Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see the jagged holes in the sheet of ice that covered the lake. There was ice in the back of one of the males, and Egypt's eyes softened. "Sorry," He murmured, gently taking an ice shard from the back of the brute with his teeth, making sure he didn't touch the other in anyway. He did this for all of the shards, glancing over to the other brute to make sure they were still there. "And sorry for intruding, but we don't need you getting an infection." He mumbled, his tongue sticking out before making contact with the wound.
Egypt's body went rigid as his body shook and the taste of copper filling his mouth. The small pebbles of the ground lifted through the snow and hovered in mid-air. One would say that a sureal atmoshpere engulfed the lake as Egypt touched another wolf. The past flashed before his eyes, and as he watched the ridicule of this wolf, whom the memories called Obsidian, endured for his lifestyle. A style that Egypt followed himself and it pained him deeply. But Egypt couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. Many wolves had lived long, but this wolf had only lived for three years, making his glance into his past shorter than the norm that Egypt had come across in his life.
The pebbles dropped, and Egypt withdrew his tongue, nausea crashing against his brain like waves against the shore. But he had to hold on. He had to help these two. The thought of calling someone to help did pass his mind, but it might take to long to wait for more wolves and he continued to clean the wounds on the brute.

Zircon flailed his paws underwater, the electricity not hurting him, but the sheer fear of what the water did to his electricity scaring him. He didn't want anyone else to get hurt and a sharp pang of fear fell through his heart when he heard his mates cry from near the waterfalls. No, Obsidian... its too dangerous! Zircon thought as he tried harder to make his way through the ice to the surface.
He knew his lover wouldn't think twice about saving him, and he only hoped they both survived this. It was far more lethal for Obsidian to go into water than it was for Zircon, and this worried the dark brute. He watched as a shadow fell across the surface of the ice and as Obsidian dove in to help him. His sight was slowly blurring before him as he felt the soft tug on the nape of his neck that was Obsidian. He felt himself break surface, but it all seemed way too dream like to him as he was drug to the shore of the water.
Zircon coughed several times, water splashing the shore. Instantly, he began to shiver and instinctively moved closer to Obsidian, whom he usually shared warmth with, but he felt a pang of fear as he felt how cold his mate was. Without a second thought, he pressed his body full to his mates side to keep him as warm as he possibly could. He was careful to avoid the shards that stuck into Obsidians back, and he curled his long tail around the other side of Obsidian to help him regain heat.
Faint pawsteps caught his ears as he heard a brute approach. He had yet to actually meet and talk with this brute, so he was slightly wary... that was, until he caught the scent of the pack on him. He relaxed a bit, coming to trust the wolves in this terrain more than he had trusted any other wolves, only because they were all very kind and he had yet to meet a wolf that had any sort of bad intentions... well, almost.
"Th-thank y-you. Y-you're n-n-not intru-ruding-g." Zircon shivered as he attempted to warm up his mate and himself. He thought it a bad idea to use his electricity to warm himself up, for it would conduct into the now freezing water that was on both his and Obsidian's fur.
Zircon watched as the brute began to take shards out of his mates back, and he nuzzled his mate to comfort him, for he figured it would be painful for such a thing to be done. When the brute began to lick the wounds, Zircon flicked his tail ever so slightly, wondering if he was just cleaning them or if he had some sort of other power to him. He watched as the pebbles rose around him as he did so and he tilted his head to the side, curious. He still shivered, but his first concern was Obsidian.

The pain became so overwhelming as Egypt removed the shards from Obsidian’s back. His vision briefly went dark due to the loss of blood and body heat. It seemed as though the only source of heat for him was Zircon’s body around his and the breath of the fae-like brute tending his wounds. Obsidian’s own emotions combined with the fear and concern from the other two sent his empathic power into hyper drive. Images sped through his mind’s eye in his unconscious state---he recalled random memories of his childhood, the death of his parents, and eventually the first moment he met Zircon. At that point Obsidian did not know whether he was alive or not. Fear overtook him once he realized he was completely alone deep within his own thoughts, he always ended up alone. The idea of potentially losing Zircon scared Obsidian senseless. Over the three short years of his life the brute was robbed of his family and had no friends. He had nothing to lose after that, yet after meeting Zircon and the experience of nearly losing him reminded him that he had a lot to lose.
“I…I…can’t lose…him…” Obsidian moaned and twitched in his unconscious state, not distinguishing reality from his cold dark imagination. Ice formed on the brute’s furled wings and the grayish-orange hue his body had once gleamed diminished slowly. He was no different than a candle losing its wick. Blood seeped onto the snow around Obsidian, causing the powdered water to lose its pearlescent luster. Conveniently though, the bleeding had stopped; however, he had lost so much.

”There’s something I’m missing from long ago" Egypt
”I always say How I don’t need you” ”But it’s always gonna Come right back to this” xxxxx To be honest, Egypt didn't know what to do for the brutes. One was slowly dying out like a fire and the other was shivering wildly. It left Egypt at a loss. He had no special powers like healing or heat to help the two frozen vargs. No, all he could do was invade their past and use the smallest bits of the ground. He had stopped the bleeding, and felt somewhat proud of himself for it. But so much blood had been spilled from the shards and the brute's color was slowly fading- it made reason for panic.
It may have seemed harsh, but he didn't want to touch the other male if he didn't have to. He didn't want to encroach upon another's past. One was enough for the day. Egypt didn't have his own past to remember up until his adventures with Alten and Imha, but that didn't mean he wanted to know others' pasts either. Some wolves had secrets that they wanted to remain hidden, and with a simple brush of fur, Egypt knew all of it. He knew a lot of things that could ruin a varg. One reason he liked pups so much, they didn't have much of a past to hold secrects in.
As the wolf identified as Obsidian mumbled, Egypt shook his head. "I don't think he wants to lose you either. Now don't go to sleep, keep your eyes open." Egypt warned, nudging him with his nose. He looked to the other wolf- whom Obsidian's memories had called Zircon and let a pleading look cross his face. "Is there anything we can do to warm him up? Anything that might help in the slightest?" He wanted to know if he needed to call someone for the pack. He knew that it would waste time to wait for someone to answer, so he needed to know if there was anything they could do here and now.

Zircon watched as Obsidian seemed to grow weary and fade away before his very eyes. He had to do something, anything, to get him to stay awake and with him. Zircon knew that should Obsidian fall asleep, it could prove fatal, and that was the last thing he wanted.
"Obsidian, I'm right here... I'm right here and you're not going to lose me." He nudged his nose to his mate, urging him to look him in the eyes. "Look at me. I'm alive, I'm fine... I'm right here beside you. Stay awake, my love..." He nuzzled him again before thinking hard. The best way Zircon knew to warm Obsidian up was through his lightning, so he concentrated hard and made the lightning that coursed over his body warm, yet not harmful to the touch, and allowed it to work its way over Obsidian, starting with his chest, where his heart and most vital organs were, then extending to the rest of his body, until he had the electric blue electricity dancing around his body like a sea of lightning. He wasn't sure if it would help, but it was the best thing he could do at the time. "I don't know what to do. The only wolf I know of in the pack with any sort of fire abilities, is Obsidian." He looked to the brute with a worried expression on his face as he spoke, before turning his gaze back onto his mate. He pondered for a bit, before wondering if singing a song for his mate would bring him back to him, specifically Obsidian's song. He took a deep breath and cleared his throat. He ignored the shivering that his body was doing, to keep it from effecting him as much with his singing voice, and began to let the music flow. His voice shook slightly from the cold, but the tone and meaning behind it didn't change. If there was one thing that Zircon had talent for, it was singing. He continued to sing Obsidian's Song, hoping it would bring him back to consciousness and keep him breathing and alive, instead of the more grim option.[/blockquote]

Obsidian opened his eyes widely and could feel the oxygen escaping his lungs, causing another bout of violent hacking. Even thought the pain was overbearing he managed to wear a smile when he noticed his lover hovering above him, those eyes would make even the most violent storm calm. Unfortunately his body wasn’t a storm that could be famished---blood dripped from his maw from the coughing, soaking more of the snow in his steamy ichor.
“Zircon…I think…I’m not going to make it through this…” the brute managed to utter between coughs as he turned his gaze from Egypt to his lover. Obsidian’s vision clouded with fog as his faint condition began to overtake him. He could feel the slight warm of his beloved’s electricity running through his body but it wasn’t enough to re-ignite the flame within. Even then, he didn’t know if a stronger electrical shock would work, he could have been far gone.
Obsidian could not believe what was happening. At first he was confident and determined to save Zircon’s life and now the roles were reversed. There were many times he came close to meeting death, but it was closer this time than it had ever been. In fact he was convinced he was going to die in that moment. Slowly with a slight quiver, Obsidian used what strength he had to touch his lover’s face with the edge of his scaly wing. The fiery brute enjoyed the touch of the warmth in Zircon’s pelt, it was the only thing comforting him in that moment.
“I’m sorry…that you have to see me like this…” Obsidian whispered, regretting the situation of his lover having to see him in a weakened state but not regretting the fact that he saved Zircon’s life.

Zircon held back his tears as he watched his loved one fade before his eyes. He was so unsure of what he should do, that the tears began to fall down his face, against his own will. He turned to the other brute, completely at loss for a solution or for what to do. He nuzzled Obsidian as he spoke, flinching at the blood coming up from his coughing.
"Don't worry, love... I'm here... Don't you say those kinds of things... You'll be fine... there's no way that I'm going to let anything happen to you." He still wasn't sure what he was going to do. He was watching his mates life slip away right before his eyes and he wasn't able to do a damn thing about it! It was frustrating him to no end, and in this instance, he lost concentration of what he was doing with his electricity. Zircon, who usually held a calm, collected air was slowly growing more and more angered at the situation. This is not meant to happen! There's no way he should be having to go through this, nor should Obsidian. They were both happy and loving toward each other. He growled slightly in frustration, turning his attention to the rose that had started all of this. Part of him wanted to tear it apart, the other part of him wanted to give it to his love, in case this were the last moments they would ever have together. His romantic side got the best of him, so he quickly stood and ran to the rose, ignoring the screaming his muscles gave him. He picked it quickly, careful to keep it from shattering, and carried it carefully over to Obsidian, setting it in front of him and nuzzling his nose, giving a small kiss on it. "I wanted to get this for you... This is why I was out on the ice.. I thought of you when I saw this and instantly knew I needed to get it for you. I'm so sorry..." His tears began to fall down his face even harder as he looked at his lover, growing more and more angered in the situation. He cuddled up next to Obsidian in hopes to comfort him and show him he wasn't alone, should this be their last time together. He shoved his nose into the nape of Obsidian's neck, nuzzling him and taking comfort in his scent... though the coldness that eminated from his mate scared him greatly. It was growing to be too much... too much for him to handle, and he knew he was going to lose control... and Obsidian's next words pushed him over that edge. "Don't start acting like this is goodbye! You're not going anywhere... I can't live without you... you mean everything to me... please don't leave me." He sobbed, his tears streaming down his face at the sight of Obsidian... the warm electricity that was coursing over Obsidian grew warmer until it was electrifying, while Zircon didn't even notice it until the bolt was at a high enough voltage that would potentially be dangerous. When he realized what he had done, he jumped back and controlled himself, not sure if he had caused any harm to Obsidian. He hoped beyond anything that he hadn't caused more stress on his mates body... but he couldn't help but feel fear creep into his mind as he looked at his mates weakened form. He was apalled at the fact he had lost control like that and began to cry harder, running back to his mates side and nuzzling to him, mumbling and speaking between sobs. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, love... I'm sorry... I love you so much... Please, don't leave... I'm so sorry..." Yes, he sounded like a pathetic pup, whimpering into his potentially dying (or even dead) mate, but he truly loved him and couldn't imagine life without him now that he had experienced it with him. He remained nuzzling Obsidian's pelt, tears streaming down his face, hoping beyond anything that this wasn't the end of him.[/blockquote]

”There’s something I’m missing from long ago" Egypt
”I always say How I don’t need you” ”But it’s always gonna Come right back to this” xxxxx Egypt felt his heart ache as he watched the two wolves interact. They loved each other so deeply, and weren't afraid of showing it, at least, that's how Egypt saw it. He and Imha were not the kind who showed such open affection towards each other. They just revolved around each other as they went about their days. Never touching. There were no slight brushes of fur- though this was mainly due to both of them fearing Egypt's power. The few times Egypt had touched Imha, he had not been able to see his mate's past. But he was still afraid. He could see every other wolf's past, so why not Imha? There was always a small chance that it would work, and Imha feared Egypt seeing his violent past. Imha always feared Egypt seeing the carnage and destruction he had caused before he had to take care of two small pups. The only time one could truely say they saw Imha and Egypt close would be when they were sleeping. Egypt would always stay up until Imha went to sleep, and then slowly curl up against his mate's side.
Their relationship was so messed up by the ticks of time, but this couple here, in front of Egypt made him think of just what he was missing. But he wouldn't give up Imha for anything in the world. He kept a close eye on Obsidian as Zircon retrieved the frozen rose, giving it to his mate. Yes, presents were one thing that Imha did give Egypt to show his affections.
Egypt thought it sickly sweet- that something so beautiful would cause so much pain. That something so loving would cause something so dire. He was shocked, in an emotional way, as Zircon seemed to lose his cool, and Egypt took a single step back. He watched as Zircon regained himself, going over to apologize to his mate. Egypt honestly wished he could do something to help them.

The cold silk of the rose's petals rested against the blood-soaked snow in front of Obsidian's nose as all breath escaping his maw gradually stopped. The tension in his muscles and wings gave out, causing them to rest against the snow lifelessly like a fallen seed in spring. The brute's deep eyes closed, and his face became motionless. He could feel his heart slowing in the fretful gaze of his lover, it was time and he knew it.
"I...love..." Obsidian's mouth hung open as his last sentence barely escaped. Snow trickled from the sky like angelic orbs as the icy red beneath Obsidian began to freeze once again.
Deep within Obsidian's dying mind he could see more images illustrated from his past. The warm faces of his mother and father staring into his, the terrifying trek away from the Misuteriasu Packlands after they were murdered and the finding of Celestia's heavenly orb. There were only three wolves Obsidian thought of during his dying moments, and those were the ones who had the most meaning to him: Zircon, Celestia and Masina. Three friends who adopted him into their loving care after being a social reject for years. At that point Obsidian knew it was too late to say good bye to them, at least he was able to say good bye to Zircon---it was time.
Just when Obsidian thought his life in Aelyn was over, the vital spark of Zircon's electricity re-ignited the fire within him. A deep painful breath escaped his maw and his eyes opened widely only to find Zircon's tear stained face hovering near his.

Zircon watched his love as he faded before his very eyes. He couldn't help but sob away as the only wolf that he was ever truly able to care for and have the same care returned slowly slipped away into the realm of the spirits.
Obsidian attempted to speak, but all Zircon could do was nuzzle up to him and comfort him. He knew that Obsidian was dying and he couldn't do anything about it... As he felt the last breaths escaping his mate, he silently weeped, feeling fully responsible for his mate dying on what was once a beautiful night.
Zircon curled closer, though he could find no warmth within Obsidian. He had to be gone... because Obsidian always had some sort of warmth to him. Zircon touched his nose to Obsidian's face, and was shocked backward, his heart skipping several beats as a miracle happened.
Obsidian took a gasping breath of life, and Zircon sat back, utterly lost and dumbfounded at this brilliant recovery. His eyes held shock and awe, as his mouth hung open wide. He shook his head and blinked a few times to make sure what he was seeing was real. He couldn't believe it, feeling as if this were all a dream and that he must be hallucinating from the chill or something.
Zircon sat back, stunned and afraid to move, frozen in place at the sight before him. He didn't believe it... Obsidian had been dead, hadn't he? There was no way that this was really happening, or so Zircon thought. ((Horrible lack of muse... forgive.))
