Cindershock stood atop the great falls that blocked their den from veiw. She looked out over the lands she had once had to be responsible for all by herself. She smiled now, she had Zephyr. Her beautiful, wonderful, mate. She was grateful for his help in watching over there family, and it was hard to thinkt hat soon they would be starting one of their own. It made her eager, and a little apprehensive all at the same time. What if she was a bad mother? What if, after the pups were born Zephyr didn't love her? Cinder shook all the awful thoughts and butterflies out of her stomach and thougths. It was irrational to think like that. She knew Zephyr would always love her, and Puru seemed to care abotu her as well, so she wouldn't be that bad of a mother, right? She shook again. Damn it Cinder stop it. She bounded toward the end of the waterfalls and took flight, coming to a graceful landing ath the foot of the pool created from the falls. She looked into the pool as if it held all the answers to the world. She stared at her reflection, her red fur, her purple eyes. She tried to imagine what her pups would look like. She smiled at the thoughts. She splashed her paw in the water and watched the ripples spread like wildfire thoguhout the pools of water. The water was a slight gold from the sun. Cindershock stepped carefully underneath the spray, her fur getting slightly wet, she shook and continued in. She looked around and saw her mate. Her Zephy and called his name "Zeph?" she wanted to talk to him about somethign she had been thinking about, a meeting of sorts. Outside by the pool, now if he agreed. She said so. He had chosen this fine sunny day upon which to take a wnader and reinforce the boundaries of his and Cindershocks packlands. He searched well and wide for each border, scenting it and marking it making sure their presence was well known and strong here and there. Every time he came close and touched that invisible border that signalled the ends of his lands, the brute felt a small shiver pass across his spine. The land was trembling, he felt that, all the others must have too; something wrong or tragic must have been happening elsewhere in Aelyn. It worried his heart and mind to feel it and know nothing of it, what of it's velocity, its strength, its manifestation? It may have been a simple shortage of food, but Zephyr was none the wiser and it was this limbo of not knowing that pained him so.
Still the pang of pride echoed in his every step in ensuring that his lands were well kept, his plants well fed and watered, making sure the wildlife was plentiful and not deathly scared or ill. Though prey was a little scarce this fine day, what he saw pleased him and put a smile upon his handsome features. He started his way back to the den at a leisurely pace, which knowing Zeph, quickly broke into a playful run, him with his tongue lolling out, the suns rays glinting oddly off his golden fur and his crimson dipped, sun-shined wings.
Panting heavily now, he slowed to a jog as he neared the dens, breathing in the scents of all his packmates old and new. From the wise old grisly scent of the storyspinner; Durion to the newest scent of little Snippet, still formal in her ways and very respectful of her Alphas. His heart shined at the pups now, Little Puru and Rain both doing very well in their new habitat.
And he and Cinder! So looking forward to, after their recent discussion, the prospect of parenthood. He could not say for sure whether Cinder had become with child, but they were certainly hoping. Time would tell, he guessed, only time would tell, but for now no wolf could not see the happiness that rang from Zephyrs eloquent voice as he hummed a tune, skipping a little as he walked towards the waterfall.
He gave the ever constant flow of drumming water a cheeky smile before letting it cascade over his aching shoulder, soothing the taught muscles, used from running and bounding, feeling the cold water trickle through his fur, the pure bliss of it. He shut his eyes and opened his mouth, letting the sweet liquid pour in as he drank it hungrily, swallowing and gulping more.
Now he walked through, shaking his head and his fur off with the shaking of his lips, making a funny sound like the sound of a woodpecker, hammering against the old bark of a tree. Just as he sat to rest, his darling mate entered the waterfalls, calling his name. His ears pricked up, still damp as they were, and he sidled over to her, giving her a loving lick on the nose.
"Yes my dearest? How are you feeling today? Any better or worse?" He always had concerns for her, even more so now that they had decided to take that step to having children, and he often feared for her safety; that she would become ill when with pups, and that he may even lose her.

Cindershock knew that her darling mate was out checking the borders, making sure that they smelled like Fukai, so that any loner, or even any wolf from another pack would KNOW that this land belonged to herself, Zephyr, and their family. No one could take it from them. She felt as if something big was going to happen, she didn't know what it was, but it had been bothering her. She couldn't place the feeling.
When he came in and walked to the place beside her her eyes lit up and her face broke out into a grin. He licked her face, and she licked his ear lovingly in return. She really was happy that he loved her, as much as she loved him. In her opinion they were perfect for each other in every single way. ((OOC-Words can't bring me down!!! No don't go bringing me down....TODAY! tee hee))
"I feel great my darling," she said smiling at his worry, she had yet to tell him that she was with pups, she wanted to surprise him at their special spot, the outcropping of waterfalls. Her insides were just bursting with joy, and she found it hard to comrphend that there were lives growing inside of her. Her smile widend so far that if it got any bigger it was sure to split her lips.
"Come with me to the outcropping?" she asked, the meeting could wait until she told him, she couldn't hold in the news anymore if she did she would explode, and everyone would know before he did, and she would feel abd then.

Zephyr shivered as Cindershock licked his ear, the feel of her rough tongue against his ear sending electric sparks along his spine, and he gave a goofy yip of joy. Cinder always gave him the butterflies, but recently she seemed more beautiful than ever, making the butterflies rise up and fight against each other as if they were to burst forth from his throat like an odd, insect related song.
Perhaps he was simply seeing her in a new light. His love, and now, indefinately, his mate as well. He feared for her health and her safety all the time now, he hated to leave her sight - it was natural. Not just because she may be carrying his pups, but because she put her own health at risk by possibly carrying them. He knew a fair few faes who were not strong enough to carry the pups and support themselves, caught in the throes of death. His heart jolted at the mere thought of that happening to Cindershock. He had to make sure she was still healthy, and well fed. But she had said she was feeling great, and he should trust her with that. He smiled, reassured by her comforting words.
"Ah yes, the old outcropping, where we first met and fell" He meant of course, in love, cocking his head and looking to the celing with a nostalgic smile. It seemed so near and yet so long ago now that they first giggled together underneath the falls, and he first marvelled at the sheer beauty of her fur, the subtle undertones of her gorgeous eyes, so dangerous yet so enthralling.
"Yes of course Cinder. Elegant faes first, or shall we have a little race?" He gave her a cheeky smile, but raised an eyebrow that let her know that if she wasn't feeling up to it, he was perfectly fine with just a happy stroll.

Cinder grinned as he shivered, his reaction to her still made her grin. She was happy she could still make him feel like that, she knew he would always make her feel like that. She stared at her mate, the light from outside surrounding him in an angelic haze. Her eyes teared up slightly at the beautiful site.
She shook her head, breaking there gaze, and as a result distracting her from her speechlessness. She didn't need to seem even more of a silly girl in love. She remembered telling herself she would never fall in love. Not after what happened last time she gave her heart to a brute. He mutilated it, chewed it up and spit it back into her face. But that was before she met Zephyr.
She knew he could never do that, but deep in her heart, she knew if he ever did she wouldn't survive. She smiled at him, "Thats the one." She would never forget those precious moments. She smiled at the memories. Dazzled by his smile she just stood there, she shook her head once again and glared at him playfully.
"You wanna get your butt kicked again?" she asked grinning. She snuggled her body against Zephyrs and then ran outside, hoping that it distracted him. She then got distracted by the beauty of the waterfalls cascading down the cliff side to the Fukai lake beneath it. Oh how she loved the lands. She waited for Zephyr, shocked to a sitting position.

He grinned his devilish grin at her, all the time reminded of that first day he and she made their vows. Love, such a wonderful and eternal thing. He hoped he was never short of it.
He was about to say something just before she brushed up against him and spirited away through the waterfalls, but was stopped by the amazing feel of her fur against his own. He smiled in a foolish way, staggering about a little. This was a natural reaction, however what he did next was totally staged for effect, and to make Cinder laugh.
He decided to go for the drama king approach, yelping loudly, as if he had just, at that moment, been struck by an arrow. Then he twriled around a little, rolling his eyes in the traditional fainting way, and collapsed to the floor, adding his final touch as his tongue lolled out to touch the floor of the den.
Expecting to hear lively laughter, he was surpirsed when the only applause he got to his little act was the constant roar of the falls. After a inute or so of waiting, he opened one eye to find...nobody there. He groaned a little, realising now where Cinder had gone. She was going to beat him to the outcropping!
Jumping up, he crouched back and then sprung forwards through the falls, building up speed as he skidded around in a u-turn, for the direction of the outcropping. He laughed loudly as he did it though, he was such a fool. Such a lovestruck fool. Still, he didn't mind it.
His powerful leg muscles brought him up to top speed quickly, working their way up through the steps, pumping in keen rhythmn. He had to at least catch up to Cinder before she got there, otherwise she would never let him live it down!
As he ran, he howled playfully, letting all who lived and passed through the packlands of the Fukai Waterfall know of his good mood today. Today was a good day. He could feel it.

The pounding of the waterfalls, and the absolute beauty of it always dazzled the crimson fae. The sun shown down on her red back, and her plume waved in the air in happiness, though the sun was greeting the world there was still a bitter coldness in the air, and she was sure that the falls would soon freeze. She would miss the roaring until spring. But she looked forward to the snow.
She rose from her position when she heard her Zephyr crash through the falls, spraying water in his wake every which a way. He didn’t pause; in fact she wasn’t even sure if he saw her, he just kept running. So Cinder took his unspoken advice and took off as well, racing to catch up, and remembering their first race to the outcroppings, it made her smile a huge smile as she ran. Her tummy got that fluttery feeling that she could now identify as true love, and she fluttered her eyelashes to keep in the tears of joy.
She spread her wings, tired of being on the ground and got ready to take flight, to soar above her mates head and into the air. She gave one leap and made it into the sky, her huge black wings pumped the empty space lifting her into the air, as high as the clouds as she always said. Her tummy was mixed in it’s feelings now, apprehensive mixed in with the love she felt, she was nervous about telling Zeph that she was with pups, that they would soon have little joys of their own. But on the other paw she was excited to tell him, she knew he wanted them, so why was she nervous? It was one of those feelings that had no substance behind it and she knew it, but yet she couldn’t help but feel it. It was irrational, but everyone had those irrational thoughts and feelings, so why couldn’t she?
She pumped her wings faster seeing Zephyr turn into a tiny ant and she knew she had won once again.
((OOC: I think we should have Zeph win this time? Is that okay with you?))

The spray of the falls rushed through his fur, making little droplets in it as he ran, which quickly dropped to the floor or dried out from the wind running through his fur. He grinned like a stupid pup, his gums pulled back, the wind drying up his teeth. He must have looked a complete fool but he didn't care much. He shut his eyes happily to feel the wind whistle in his sensitive ears and rush through, making his eyes water slightly.
It seemed inevitable at first that he was going to win the race, but soon he felt the quick pounding heart and the drumming paws of his beloved. He gave a happy sigh as he opened his eyes, just in time to see her spread her wonderful wings wide and take flight, dissapearing above the bare trees with their wide branches. He inclined his head, speeding up to keep up with her flight, watching her graceful arcing for a while.
Then, without further ado, he leapt into the air, his paws angled forwards as his golden wings unfurled, and with two powerful strokes, thrust himself into the air. He caught an updraft after a few moments which sent him up above the first layer of trees, and with some effort he rose above the trees, in line of sight with his Cinder once more. He gave a joyous laugh and quickened his strokes, angling his feathers to create a smaller surface area and lessened wind resistance.
He sped up, watching Cindershock slowly grow larger and larger as he forced his wings onwards, his heart pounding harder and faster, in time to his powerful strokes. His thoughts turned to what could possibly be upon her mind. It had to be important if she wanted to talk to him about it in private, especially by the outcropping of the waterfalls; where he first proclaimed his love for her. It was such a romantic setting. He wondered what she could possibly want to tell him.
He lowered his head, laughing now as he caught up with her, sticking his tongue out at her aimicably. He passed her after a few minutes of hard flying, sighing in surprise and relief, perhaps he was improving! And as he neared the outcropping he slowed his stroeks, making them more evenly spaced and less urgent. Finally, he glided down, pulling his wings back at the last moment so that he dropped gracefully behind the small waterfall that held such a perfect memory for the both of them. He laid down, his lungs aching a little, and crossing his paws, he sat before the rush of the falls, waiting for his Cindershock to burst forth through them.

Cindershock tried as hard as she could, but once Zephyr passed her again she could not gain the lead back. She huffed and puffed, and pumped her wings faster, but she still stayed a ways behind him. She figured it was fair, he beat her the first time, but when she told her mate about their pups that were going to be born, she would use that as the excuse. Cinder sure did hate losing, but it was good that it was to her mate she loved him.
Because she could not get closer to him to pass him, she settled with watching him fly. His golden brown pelt sparkling like the setting sun hitting the lake in front of their den, and his powerful wings stroking up and down, with there random mix of crimson, and ending in white tips, perfectly well groomed. She sighed with her love pouring out of her breath and traveling to him in staggering amounts. This didn’t really happen of course, but it was the metaphor that counts.
She saw him disappear behind the waterfall where they first proclaimed their love, and she sighed once more, this time speeding up to be with her love again. She arrived at the waterfall, and instead of taking the way behind it she crashed through it spraying her entrance everywhere, defiantly letting her mate know she was there. She walked of to where he lay and shook the water off on him, and licked on droplet off of his back before laying down beside him, folding her wings next her sides once more. She closed her purple orbs and waited for him to announce his curiosity of why she brought him here today.

The sun was warm even under the cover of the falls, but at this angle it shone perfectly through the falls, illuminating the outcropping through a fantastic spectrum of colour. Zephyr's eyes were dazzled with the colours of the rainboiw as they scattered around the rocks and rockfaces behind him. He smiled, wondering how far he had overtaken Cindershock, and how much she would be irritated him. he knew she hated to lose, but he had to win once in a while, didn't he?!
Cinder was never annoyed with him, so he didn't really expect it, only folded his wings over his head slightly to warn away a slight headache due to the sudden warmth of the sun. His crimson wing feathers reflected a bright red light through his squinted eyes, and he saw sillhouettes through his wings upon the walls. He heard the fast approaching wingbeat of Cindershock, and smiled aimicably. He wondered sometimes if anyone could love another as he loved her.
The way the waterfall ran off her perfect tan fur as she bathed in its waters, the calm hue of her gorgeous eyes early in the morning. The tiny woofs she made as she nudged her in the night, sharing their body heat. He wondered that a lot, whether if he died, if she would ever love another. He knew that if his mate died, his Cindershock, he could never love another like her. She would not be replaced. Some hearts were fickle, but Zephyr knew that under the circumstances, his heart would die with Cinder.
But now wasn't the time to be thinking of death. If, heaven forbid, it came down to it, he would deal with that issue when and if the time came. Now, he sat eagerly, awaiting her no doubt dazzling entrance into their outcropping, their private spot.
He was rewarded soon after, with the lovely Cindershock echoeing through the spray of the waterfalls, her body framed by the very waters that parted upon her entry. He sighed at the sight of her, her sillhouette glowing against the sun.
Shying away from her lick, but more out of playfullness, he gave her a sly lick back, hoping to catch her just across the nose.
He waited for her to settle, resting his muzzle upon the gap between her shoulderblades for a time. After a few minutes of listening to the sound of her heart beating, and the quiet roar of the falls, he spoke.
"So what occasion do I owe my love to take us to this outcropping where we first confessed to each other?"

Cinder couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive about telling her mate about the pups that were coming. She couldn't help but wonder if Zephyr, even though he asked her about it, still wanted the little bundles of joy that they were going to have. Her eyes stayed closed as she lay in the warm sunshine, letting it dry the droplets of water left on her coat.
She frowned slightly when he moved away from her tongue, but trying not to think anything of it. He was probably just playing. But in this moment, she couldn't help but feel a little self conscious. He licked her back then, just across her delicate brown nose, and she sneezed. Her purple eyes crossed slightly and she laughed out loud, the sound echoing through the little cave that they had come to rest in.
She let him rest his head on her back, and she sighed contentedly just listening to the sounds around her. The steady breathing of her mate behind her, his breath warming her shoulders. The roaring sounds of the falls all around them, crashing and spraying there bodies with the cool refreshing droplets. The chirping of the birds, sweet and delicate, so happy and carefree. All the sounds of nature filled her ears and her eyes closed in utter joy of being able to enjoy it here with her mate.
But even the happiest of moments couldn't last forever.
"So what occasion do I owe my love to take us to this outcropping where we first confessed to each other?"
His sweet voice came into her ear. Her eyes snapped open once again, and she let out the breath she didn't even know she had been holding. 'Damnit...'
"My dear Zephyr," she paused trying to gather her thoughts, her heart raced in nervousness and a little bit of fear, though she had no reason to fear. Her mind knew this, but her heart and feelings could not contain themselves. "Do you remember when you asked me to have pups with you? And I agreed without hesitating?" She had no idea how to word this, nor how to tell him, or anything. Basically, she was babbling, and boy did Cindershock hate babbling... "Well, right now, in this very moment, I am pregnant with your pups, and I couldn't be happier." Her sweet voice trailed off a bit in the end, and broke on the word pregnant. She knew he would be ecstatic, so why did she feel like she did?
Words: 399 OOC: SORRY! I know it's uber late, and Zephyr didn't know about the puppies until the day before they were born....xD! I'm really sorry about the over use of "couldn't help" but I think I'm having a crappy post day!
