Crow’s ears perked as he looked to Elva from the peripherals of his solid blue eyes. He hadn’t noticed the affect that Zytka had upon her. After all, she was still a pup wasn’t she? He often let himself forget simply because she did not act like her appearance suggested she should. She looked barely to be a year, but when she spoke and acted, one could be completely fooled. But Crow supposed she was still a pup, somewhere inside. His cold scowl curved his features once more as he stepped over to the small female. He said nothing, but his expression read ’are you ok?’ He looked her over as Tola and the stranger conversed, his hackles yearning to rise with every arrogant sentence that the crude female uttered. After assuring himself that the small, violet pup was in one piece, his attention snapped to the Zytka.
His black jowls curved downward in a warning as the largest wolf in the packlands slowly made his way to be a barrier between this stranger and his packmates. A slow verbal warning rumbled it’s way through his chest as his blank eyes glared down to her. ”I don’t know what you did to convince my sister to reward you entrance to our pack. But I expect you to prove yourself trustworthy.” His jaws snapped lightly as he spoke, putting a threatening emphasis upon his words. ”If our alpha had not already punished another member with the lowest position I would gladly brand you with it until you gain the proper respect to others that deserve it.” His thick skull turned as he glanced at Elva for a fraction of a second before returning to Zytka. ”Consider yourself a half-step above Omega. Elva is your superior and you should respect her as such. Apologize.” His hulking form gave no way for compromise. Twin-tails stood erect behind him as did his white-tipped ears. Large, black wings shifted slightly as he unfurled them only a small tad, causing him to appear even larger than his massive frame already was. A nasty snarl caused his thick fur and wings to vibrate. "And mean it."

She still shivered slightly, the scent of the blood strong upon her sensitive little nose. Her eyes widened as she coughed quietly, her head finding its way to Crow's powerful legs, and then up to his face. He had stepped towards her, why was this? His face was full of concern, oh yes, she was shuddering. Her eyes flickered, he seemed a little blurry, his eyes looked to her for but a moment, asking her, she nodded, an automatic reaction but still there. Her head swayed, stilled, swayed again.
No! She must remain calm. The blood was
(TaKe Me BaCk)
...It rained that day. Cascaded. Torrents and torrents of red, showers upon showers. Her nose was smeared with it, not her own. Her fuzzed eyes did not take in the full horror of it yet her audits heard it loud and clear.
The moaning...the never-ending moaning. A long, lonely howl, the crushing weight of the body pressed against her. A chattering, her own tiny teeth clacking against one another. And the laughter. The deafening, endless laughter, roaring around her, flooding her senses with the torrents if red, clouding her vision.
The thumps continued, things falling. What things? She can't see. Crimson covers the plains but she can't see anyway. The stench, the stench and the sticky feel of it clinging to her fur. The putrid stench filling her lungs, making her cough and gag...
(bRiNg Me FoRwArD)[/i][/color] less strong now, now that Zytka had moved away. The little pup forced herself to stop. A bored expression slowly returned to her face. She was calm, she was collected, she listened to what was being said. This calmed her slightly, Crow's words. Oh Crow, his sharp, strong voice, brought her back to her surroundings, and her ears perked up slightly when she realised he was talking about her. Her rank within the pack, above this newcomer. But of course, though she was young, in physicality, she was more deserving of a rank than this fae. Of course, these bitter feelings could be her miniscule payback to Zytka of the scare the older fae had given her. That memory, those memories. Were they hers? She heard them, triggered by certain things, but of course she would never really know what significance they were to her just yet. A part of her had blocked out what had happened that night, and for good reason. But why were these memories surfacing now? She held her head high as Crow denounced Zytka, a small nod emphasizing his words. She would learn that this pup would not be pushed around easily. But if Zytka knew how to irk her...Elva may find herself an adversary in the fae very quickly. Words: 459 OOC: Bit of background and such...o.o

"I shall prove myself worthy, Crow." Said Zytka. The fae was much more serious now, she could tell the temporary alpha possessed a strong disliking for her from her rather bad first impression. The white she brushed away Crow's comment of making her Omega if it wasn't already taken, but not before her eyebrows furrowed just a fraction of a centimeter.
The comment was quite far from appreciated, she wasn't used to such stern methods of communication being directed towards her. Her years as the alpha's daughter had made her soft, it disgusted her. She hated the idea of apologizing to this, well, pup. Zytka hadn't hurt it, simply scared it. But no matter, time was slowly running by, seconds turning into tens of seconds. She decided to speak up again. "Well, Elva," She said slowly, "It seems I owe you an apology. So, please, forgive my insolence; my intent was not to be disrespectful."
It took every shred of Zytka's will to stop herself from shaking. "This, this pup? Superior to me? What knowledge or fighting skills could this runt possibly have? She was dry heaving her stomach out her throat at the stentch of blood. Pathetic whelp." The fae swallowed to restrain herself from saying something that might well get her killed. "Nodding her head along with everything he has to say. She is nothing but a pup." The wolf could feel time slow. Or was it her speeding up? She felt the blood slowly coursing through her veins. Each individual thump of her heart through her thick silky white fur. One second. Two seconds. Three seconds. Time passed gruelingly slowly as she waited for a reply from any of the wolves.
Ooc:// Sorry for the delay in post guys. As I'm sure you all know, I'm anything but sane and I'm far from having a normal life. Sorry my personal shit has to destory my muse and make you wait on me for something that should have happened a couple days ago.

Tola sat back, watching the exchange between her brother, Elva and the newcomer. This newcomer, in Tola's humble opinion had a lot of guts to begin her first impressions the way she did, then act superior in a way by intimidating a fellow pack mate that was not even half her size. Tola's tail flicked behind her, her glowing eyes piercing toward the female.
What irked her the most, was this female seemed to fear Crow, more so than she feared Tola... and that bothered Tola. Why was Crow so much more intimidating to this female than herself? Tola was larger than this she-wolf, easily, so it couldn't be too much to do with the size. Not to mention, Tola's muscles and tone fit her body more, while Crow was a little more on the gangly side of things. What made Crow so much better than herself in this instance? She stifled a growl in her chest as she pondered this, her eyes taking on a slight blue tint that melded with the golden glow that emanated from them.
Crow asked the female to apologize to Elva, which was, in Tola's opinion, a very good thing to do. Force this female to show some humility. With a small smirk on her face, Tola watched as the females demeanor changed ever so slightly. She could tell she was concentrating by her posture to keep a level head and to control something, though Tola noticed quite obviously it wasn't her emotions. She watched as the markings changed to a sunset-like appearance, orange tinted with hints of red, and her smirk grew wider.
Tola waited for her to finish her apology, before she spoke up for the first time in a little while. "What's the matter, Zytka? Not exactly your cup of tea? Being below a common wolf when you, yourself are the daughter of an Alpha? You mentioned it yourself. Does miss 'you are like me, an Alpha's pup' not like having to be below most other wolves, just a partial step above Omega? Oh, how far have you fallen now..." [/b] She wore a smirk on her face, stepping forward and standing tall next to her brother. She flicked her tail behind her, adjusting her wings ever-so slightly to accommodate her change of position and her movement and to fix what the chill wind had put out of place. "Careful, Zytka... some would think you wear your emotions right out on your fur... Oh wait, you do!"[/b] She gave a small laugh after this, one that would probably prove annoying to most because of the fact that Tola was having so much fun with this aspect of this female. She could see very well the connection between her marking and the emotions the female conveyed if she wasn't working on hiding it, and Tola was going to hold this to her own advantage at any and every opportunity she could. She continued to smirk at the female, daring her to make a retort or to make some sudden move that didn't lay well with any of the three wolves she stood before.[/blockquote]

Crow held strongly to his dominant pose. Tails high, harks erect, he would take no more crap from this stranger. Black claws gripped the rough ground as his white-flamed paws flexed. Finally, he was making his mark as the alpha’s son. He would prove himself; it meant everything to him. To be noticed, to be acknowledged by Father and the others…especially Father. Then, when his time came, he would step up as alpha and pass on his own rule. But, what rule would it be… Crow falter in his thoughts as the same worry that always nagged him surfaced. Would he trace the silhouette that Father left, or create his own? Lucid was the reason that the Mountain pack was the most envied, the prized land of this realm. Who was he to change the ways that had been so steadfast, so successful? He mentally shook the thoughts from his head before they showed upon his face. His tails lowered, hearing Tola’s voice finally come from her maw. Crow didn’t see why she was at a loss of words before, his sister always (always) made her thoughts known. His hardened expression flowed into one of disapproval and confusion. What was she doing?
”Tola!” He turned slightly to her and snapped. ”That’s enough!”
They both had already made their point clear, and Zytka had done as requested and apologized. No good would come of aggravating her. The pack had to work as one, not be at odds. That was the exact reason he had demanded that she apologize. Zytka could not prance around, thinking herself better than Elva, simply because she appeared younger.
”I’ll not have us at ends.” His harsh tone had turned into a gentler one of explanation and understanding. ”There’s no sense in tormenting others once they know their place. We’ve both had our say. That’s enough.”
He turned back to Zytka. So that was why sister held her tongue; she had been observing Zytka carefully. And after she had mentioned it, Crow noticed it as well. The female’s unique markings faded from shade to shade, with higher and lower saturations, seemingly at random. But he now saw the connection, between her emotions and her colors. Honestly, Crow could not decide whether or not it was a burden or a blessing. On the one paw, she could easily communicate with others if they knew her colors, knew what they meant. Her words would never be misinterpreted. But on the other paw, others would always know what she’s feeling. She couldn’t hide her sorrow or her fear of something. His large head tilted slightly as he thought. Maybe this was why she held such a strong front before. Using anger and aggression to shove aside what she truly felt. Is that why she shook now? Containing her true emotions?

Elva allowed herself a small crooked smile as she watched Zytka being downsized. True, she shouldn't show this much pleasure in a...now fellow packmates telling off, but it was on her account. The fae should have learnt to give her the proper respect she deserved. Perhaps now she would be more amicable towards her and not treat her like some inexperienced whelp.
She gave an arrogant sniff as she watched the fae's odd coloured markings change after apologising to her. So Zytka thought it below herself to be apologizing to a pup? An Alpha's daughter, Tola had said? Well she had better get used to it. With a slight inclanation of her head, Elva managed to look down her nose at the larger fae whilst also looking up at her.
"Your apology is accepted" She said quietly, moving slowly closer to Crow and Tola. It seemed Tola had also been enjoying Zytka's humliation as she suddenly piped up, every sentence making Elva's grin a little wider. That was, until Crow shut her up. Oh Crow...his voice was an odd harmony, even when harsh it chimed like bells in her ears.
She shook her head, forcing her thoughts clear. Now was not the time to be listening to each incline and decline in the tone of Crow's voice. He sounded mad. She looked up, craning her neck to see the two siblings. Crow had chided Tola...odd. She would not like that, but then again it was bad conduct to dispute in front of a member, let alone a newly joined one. She just hoped Tola wouldn't rise to the challenge, but her heart knew that Tola had a fiery spirit and would not take kindly to her brother's telling off. Maybe she would simply shake it off and leave, but the violet pup doubted it. The sibling rivalry was far too strong.

Zytka scanned the trio opposite her carefully, looking for any misgivings, a hint of thought. She caught Crow's tentative gaze at her markings.
"If I have even the faintest sliver of whats whirring through your brain right now, I can take a guess from where you're looking and deduct that its my markings. Assuming you're as smart as you've made yourself out to be, everything you're thinking is correct." Zytka's eyes grew wide, her lips drawn back in a grin. The fae gave a loud barking laugh,
"Aha! Haha, ha ha, ha...ha." Letting out a long sigh as she finished her laughter, finally regaining herself enough to continue.
"What of wearing my emotions on my skin. I think of it as a gift not a curse. Being able to communicate what i mean without ever having to move a whisker."
"You are mistaken alphess." Said Zytka with her merry tinkling laugh still echoing through her voice,
"Being a hair above omega irks me some, yes, but that is not what I was thinking about. As much as I seem above apologies, I am not. I simply am quite bad at them to be truthful." The fae's eyes twinkled menacingly, her markings slowly fading to a dark blue.
"Your eyes however, Tola, are open books. They tell me everything I need to know, or more so what they don't say is what I'm interested in. Now, to not go against your brothers wise decision I shall hold my piece for a later time." She said in a quiet monotone voice, making it clear she wanted to end the argument.
The she-wolf shook her thick white pelt, letting the thin layer of snow once again building up on her back slide down her silky fur and merge with the powder coated ground. Face head on into the wind, eyes squinted she turned her body slightly, blocking the cold north winds from getting under her fur. Her markings slowly faded back to the icy blue, so befitting of their surroundings.

Tola growled at Crow when he chided her. In front of the new wolf? In front of another pack mate? She wouldn't stand for it. She couldn't. She hated being bossed around, especially by her brother. Yes, he may be older, but that didn't make him any better than her. She was just as easily open to win the packlands one father grew too old to keep them himself, just as well as he was. He had this notion in his mind that just because he was the oldest, he was the rightful heir, but she knew that she was great competition and would make a great Alphess. Tola had been the one to greet most of the new loners, and how many loners had Crow greeted? How many alphen duties had he pulled? None that Tola could remember. So for him to chide her really irked her and caused her to grow angry very quickly.
Her body temperature grew warm very rapidly as her eyes turned to a fierce glowing blue as she looked at her brother. "You're no better than I, so don't you dare chide me. This female, to my own opinion, was not entirely sincere with her apology. From what I could tell, she still holds some sort of superiority within herself to Elva. But we'll see who's right in the end." [/b] She calmed her temperature and anger down, her eyes fading to their usual golden glow. She flicked her tail behind her and turned her gaze toward the female once more. "Yes, but your markings also give away your true feelings when you are trying to hide them in a difficult situation, therefore, they aren't always a blessing, now are they?"[/b] She flicked her tail, brushing her own comment aside like it was nothing, and listened to what else the female had to say. The females fear of Crow both amused and irked Tola. Tola was larger than this female, so it couldn't entirely be Crow's size that she feared... Tola had just as much to be feared about her as her brother, but for now, she let it go. She would show Crow later how wrong he was to chide her, but for now, she flicked her tail and pondered.[/blockquote]

Frustration swelled in his chest: how could Tola think he was chiding her! She had been the one out of line! There was no need to torment Zytka, tease her. They weren’t pups – minus maybe Elva- and they didn’t need to act like it. Why couldn’t his sister simply grow up. He stepped closer to her, so he could whisper in her ear. The other pack members didn’t need to see their dual leadership quarreling like coyotes over scraps of meat. He didn’t want it to appear that they were at ends with one another- though at times it felt that way to Crow. They needed to appear strong, unified, if they were to watch over Father’s pack.
”Tola,” Crow kept his voice stern, but cautious as he whispered to her. He didn’t want another outburst from her. They were both supposed to lead the pack together. They had to cooperate. They had to listen and understand one another. He felt he understood her too well at times: she was so immature with her thoughts. ”I didn’t meant to call you out, but understand that though we are leaders, that doesn’t mean we demene our subordinates. Whether or not she was sincere with her apology may be up for debate, but she knows her place now; even if it might not show. If another outburst comes along, then it will be dealt with in time. But don’t provoke her into one.”
He stepped back from her, looking to Elva and Zytka before turning back to her. He wanted to say more, something to the others, but his train of thought was lost as his harks perked with the sound of another (here). He held back a sigh as he leaned into his sister once more. "I'll handle it, you stay here." Crow stepped back and unfurled his wings to their extreme length. "And Tola," he uttered, barely above a whisper. "please behave."
Crouching down, he lept into the air, and creating his own heated updraft, he was lifted high and fast into the dusk's light.

Elva knew at what times it was wise to speak, and at what times it was wise to stay silent. Now was one of those times in which she stayed silent, yet she would certainly speak at the end of it. The tensions between Crow and Tola were certainly rising, and were perhaps growing to be something more than simply pretty sibling rivalries competing for fathers attention. In her small violet eyes, Elva had seen them both work hard for their fathers pride, yet neither had recieved it yet. Lucid was sparse with his giving out of compliments.
Yet now he was not here, and they would have to work as a team if they were to rule the packlands successfully together whilst Lucid conquered other territories elsewhere.
A word made Elva's ears perk up. Zytka had called Tola alphess, perhaps that would soften her up a little. A respectful title, yet perhaps it was also a small dig, a hint of sarcasm at the fact that she was not yet alphess, only merely filling in for the time being. How Tola took it was up to her.
She managed to keep herself from sighing as Crow whispered past her, the fragments of his scent upon the wind echoeing into her sensitive nose. Soon he was gone, the fast heated air currents that remained the only inkling that he had been here.
"Well then" She said after he had left and she had had some time to regain her senses. "Perhaps you would like to see where you are going to be sleeping?" A hint of mockery resided in her tone, but just a hint.

A slight nod to Crow was given as he flew off. 'Good bye' Her eyes said. "Another?" The fae thought to herself, "Someone I know? Has someone been following me? Did I...? Shit I there was someone I missed, someone I over looked. No." She thought this last bit firmly to herself. "No. I counted before I left." Zytka was careful to control what her eyes and markings gave away. She had already let too much slip between her paws as it was, no need to let more leave her. The wolf noticed a yawn coming on and caught it in her throat. She inhaled slowly. She let the breath out with a huff, a tiny puff of pale smoke flowing from her lips.
"Sleep sounds highly appealing," Said Zytka quitely, standing up as she did so. The thin fae shook herself thoroughly, ridding her long silky white fur of the majority of the snowflakes. She took a deep breath, holding it in for several seconds before exhaling. Zytka could feel the cogs in her brain whirring quietly. Invisible chains pulling thoughts out of her subconscious.
"I haven't slept since that night." She said nonchalantly, watching the thin wisps of smoke trail out of her nose and into the cold evening air. "Its been five whole days..."
The fae's vivid icy eyes grew wide, pupils constricted. She snapped her jowls shut when she realized she had been speaking aloud. Zytka had become accustomed to speaking her thoughts out loud in the short time she had been packless. Her head bowed slightly as she started to pad towards where the two wolves in front of her. "By all means, lead the way." The fae said, dipping her head at Tola.

Tola flicked her tail in agitation at her brother and watched him take to the skies. She watched as he very quickly disappeared, and cursed at him inside her mind before she turned her cold gaze back to the female.
"Lets go then." [/b] She flicked her tail and adjusted her wings before she took a few pawsteps forward. She looked behind her to make sure her two packmates were following before she pushed onward, choosing the easiest path to get to the den area. Before long, they made it up the mountainside and into the small alcove that led to the sleeping quarters of the mountains. A ledge stood out at the entrance of the den, where you could see all of the mountain packs lands and clear out to the Kumori Plains, with small spots of visuals on the other wolves packlands as well. Tola looked at this and always admired how beautiful it was, and she loved being able to wake up each day and gaze out over this sight. She sighed slightly, before turning her glowing golden gaze toward her packmates once more. "Elva, would you like to show her to the area where Sinis sleeps? She can choose a place around there for her sleeping area."[/b] Tola turned her eyes toward Elva, their coldness dissipating and turning to her average look for her packmates and family. The calm, collected look that she generally tried to wear all the time, but that disappeared when her temper got the best of her.[/blockquote] ((Really crappy post that barely meets the requirements, but I wasn't sure what else to do.))

Often one would have company whilst walking the path to the Mountain Packlands den, and although there were three wolves walking this path upon this day there was only one companion. Silence. The small, violet pup padded upon light pawsteps, unmindful of the silence. She happened to like the silence sometimes more than speech, it gave her time to muse. But today was not a day for musings.
Elva walked, keeping up with the two larger faes, simply enjoying the sparse warmth of the sun upon her small back, the breeze of the wind as it swooshed through her tail. Birds that had not migrated yet chirped, lively and bright as they flew from branch to leafless branch.
They soon reached their destination, though the den was high up in the mountains Elva had walked that path many times before and could reach it easily even in the throes of twilight. The weeks in the mountains had hardened her lungs and her spirit and though she was still a frail and weak pup she could certainly hold her own when it came to stamina. In truth that was the only thing she needed to have a lot of; stamina.
Elva hopped up onto a few large boulders for the last few meters of the trek, watching Tola silently as the Fae surveyed the packlands, coupled with the whole of Aelyn. She knew that all members of the Mountains pack felt a great deal of pride when looking out into Aelyn, a feeling of being above those wolves, those wolves that could never hope to reach the tips of those great and perilous mountains. The only other high grounds in Aelyn were the waterfalls, but they never even came close to the magnificence of the mountains.
She waited for her instructions, and when they were given she simply nodded, saying nothing, but giving Zytka a sharp, violet glance that indicated 'follow me', before turning into the comforting darkness of the Misuteriasu den.
It didn't take long to find Sinis' mess of a bed as it was one of the ones every member first came across, being so close to the outside and the wind and the cold. A few large, tattered leaves lay inside a hollow in the wall of the den, slightly chewed edges of the leaves showing Sinis' easy boredom in the late and cold nights of winter. Tiny bits of fluff were interspersed with the leaves, remains of rabbits fur and many snapped twigs were strewn about the floor of the den. Sinis was certainly an odd creature, but the little purple pup was not to judge.
It was untouched, the Omega having left with their Alphas to complete some unknown task. Elva did not question these things, they merely were. She surveyed the three hollows beside Sinis' bed, each big enough for a good sized wolf, each empty. She nodded without turning back to the larger fae.
"You may take one of these three hollows. There are leaves and furs at the back of the den. Do not take more than you need to survive. Know your place. Protect the pack. That is all" She reeled the lines off emotionlessly on the surface, but there was a slight underlayer of pride in her words. A part of her like being above another, being worth something more. Not that she had ever been told she was worth anything less, but it was nicer to be something more. More fulfilling.

Zytka did as she was instructed by the pup, ignoring her obvious attempts to boss her around. "The cold is my life force, what drives me. I embrace it." Said Zytka, in a surly tone. "Bedding will hardly be necessary, my pelt is more than enough to keep me warm." Regardless, she padded to the back of one of the hollows, sniffing at the fur and leaves, searching for any hints of mold or rot. She gave a small sigh.
The fae dug her claws into the cold earth. She raked at it, within 20 seconds she had carved out a nice sized dip under the bone chilling top layer. She paced around in it twice, laid down and rested her head on her forepaws, facing the entrance to the den.
Even as the wind coursed through the entrance of the den, tousled her silky fur, whipped around her ears, she felt nothing. The cold did not affect her, her insides felt colder than the outside. She let out a small, discomforted puff, watched her breath swirl through the air. Watched little tendrils of smoke stray from the cottony ball.
The fae's eyes followed the wisps until they floated up to Elva and out of the den. Only than did she remember she had company. The wolf's ears in an upright position, her tail curled up at her side. Her icy blue eyes caught Elva's gaze. She gave the pup a half nod before getting up and padding out of her den.
"Well, Tola," Zytka said quietly as she approached the wolf, "What are my duties?"

Elva watched Zytka get comfortable silently, showing neither interest nor impatience. She had shown the fae where she was to be sleeping, that was all. She wondered briefly if this display was merely for show, or if the fae actually did not feel the cold. The test would come tonight, when harsh winds blew across the land. She has sensitive ears; she would hear anyone getting up for extra bedding in the night. The thought amused her slightly.
She sniffed though at Zytka's sigh, irritated that the fae was already bored. She had a place to sleep and a cave over her head, what more did she want? This one was certainly an Alpha's daughter, used to royalty and all the above. Then again, who was she to judge.
She blew the delicate wisps of smoke away with ther own frosty air, shivering slightly. Although the larger fae did not 'feel' the cold, the small violet pup certainly did. Shivering again, she felt her muscles twitch in order to get her blood pumping and she warmed up slightly.
She listened absentmindedly to Zytka's request of Tola; though the fae might have trouble with her, she was pondering. Her pawpads made light thudding sounds as she bounded to her own den, further away and sheltered in the darkness and warmth of the inner den. Even here the cold bit at her underbelly and frosted her breath.
As her eyes adjusted to the sparse light, Elva scented that familiar musk that was her own bed. With an expertise she prided herself in, she leapt in, arranging things as she so liked to test the warmth levels and how much she could feel the draughts. She had had enough comfort for today. She lay there for a while, letting her eyes go heavy. Perhaps a small nap was not a bad idea...
