The lands grew quiet, as if a change was happening. It was almost as if the lands were expecting something to happen... no birds sang, no creatures moved... the lands quieted themselves in anticipation for what could only be described as the unthinkable.
The silence, just when one might get used to it, was suddenly shattered by a loud, booming howl. "These lands, the Kumori Plains, are now joined with the Misuteriasu Mountain Packlands. Loners now traverse across lands that are claimed and must report to Lucid before doing anything more. Any challengers, please feel free to lead yourselves to your deaths. Any who wish to join the most powerful pack or join the leagues of the strong, speak with Lucid or Mira. These lands are now claimed for the Mountains and any challengers will be duly killed on the spot." It ended abruptly, but the effects of it still lingered.
The lands remained silent for only a few moments, before a burst of life erupted it from it, taking in and discussing what this all meant. ((Short post, but go ahead and react as your wolves would react to such a thing!))

Faolan trotted briskly through the territory, nose to the ground, searching for any scent of Lucid or another wolf with which he can speak to. He knew he needed to make his request directly, rather than subtly making hints of what he wants. Of course he would respect the alpha's decision and whatever else he thought of Faolan's question.
He stopped, alerting his senses to his surroundings to detect any change in the atmosphere. Suddenly, he heard a loud cry which his ears perked to, listening carefully. He heard the voice speaking of the Mountains having taken over the Kumori Plains, warning loners to either join or get out. This sounded interesting.
Faolan quickly thought and turned in the direction of the voice, thinking that if it were not Lucid, it would be at least someone who could direct him to the alpha. Surely the great wolf could not doubt his everlasting loyalty and dedication he would promise to the pack he belonged to once he made his proclamation.
He sped up to a lope, trusting his memory of where he had heard the howl to guide him there. Meanwhile he thought, I've waited a long while to finally ask my alpha of this, and I humbly ask it, knowing I probably don't deserve it, though no one else has stepped up to the task that I know of. Not wanting to seem too suck-uppish, he continued, Of course he'll accept me.
Giving up on his lope, he fluttered and stretched his wings, speeding up more then leaping gracefully and silently into the air. He slowly beat his wings, dipping and swooping in the wind. This is much faster and more enjoyable. Thank goodness the spirit wolves gave me wings before banishing me. I am grateful. Having reached his destination, he alighted onto a large boulder with steps like feather touches and tucked his wings in neatly. He stepped forward, smoothly landing on the rocky ground. "Lucid, is that you?"

((Lucid is in the Plains... not in the Mountains. I can bring in Tola for you if you would like. Lucid probably won't check back for a little bit.. until a few more posts have gone through or something.))

Crow’s ears shot to the sky as Father’s song dominated it. What? He stood, blinking lightly in disbelief. What did this mean? How could Father claim the Kumori lands? Those were lands for the lost, for loners. The plains were where the sacred circle lies, how could Father lay claim to that? That was the place where those who sought guidance and hope from the ancestors would travel to. Not any mortal was meant to claim them. A confused growl whispered through his thick neck. How could Father just up and claim them? It’s not like there were carved rules anywhere, it was simply a universal norm – the plains were left by the ancestors for all to use. Crow flicked his ears once more as he turned his blue eyes to the sky. Would the ancestors do anything about this? Hadn’t it been their verdict that the plains would be a free land? A small pang of fear struck his chest. Would they smite his father, should he be serious within his claim? Crow shook his head, no, they were beings of Paradise. Only an agent of Hell would do such a thing.
Crow sat back, not exactly knowing what to think…or what to feel. Father was, Father; and more or less, alpha, how could Crow think badly of what his alpha felt was necessary or best for the pack. But then again… ...footsteps interupted his thoughts. Crow turned to the voice that called from atop a boulder to his backside. His blue eyes glowed with solid light, no pupils, as he looked to the wolf. "Sorry, wrong wolf." It's not like it didn't happen often, he was the kin that looked most like his father. Who else was this massive size other than Lucid? When taking a better look, one would see that Crow's shoulder's were a full head higher than his Father's. And instead of red and yellow flames, his paws had pure white flames upon his feet and twin-tails. But from a distance, it was no wonder that the stranger would mistake Lucid's son for Lucid. She had been sitting. Sitting and wondering at the time Lucid made his call, his stand. She had been sitting and wondering atop her place by the mountains, in the snowy drifts of the highest peaks, where she would often climb for the solitude and the freezing crisp air, and the morning sunrises. No sun would rise today, as it had already peaked and was moving fast over the mountains behind her. She could almost feel its piercing gaze burning into the back of her neck.
She had sat and stared, out into the lands of the mountains, from the blizzard-like tundras of the tips of the mountains to the misty, foggy bogs down below where mountanous terrain erupted into shrubbery and gravel. There was wildlife there of course, yet she could not see beyond the mist that shrouded the lower lands from her omnipotent view. From this spot it seemed, her viewpoint stretched the entire land of Aelyn.
She could see right into the distance, where the land met the horizon with a purple, pinkish glare, where the lapping waves of the sea rose up to meet the reddish sky. She saw the distant plains, so vast and far away, yet looking so small atop her marvelous mountain. Harsh winds bit at her delicate fur yet she did not care, she was one with the world.
His howl traversed the land, bringing with it terror and panic, as it would. She herself felt the terrifying chill as it passed through her bones as through a ghost, and all at once she felt so insignificant in the light of things. Somewhere he was there, claiming lands never meant to be claimed, forcing loners to bend to his whim. It was all a part of his plan.
And yet she did not fear him. If anything, she respected him for having the gall to step forwards and try to take what he wanted. She knew that she would never be able to achieve that level of courage. Then again, he was a respectable and well feared Alpha, and she but an orphaned pup that he had taken pity upon.
When Tola, Crow and Haven grew with the seasons, she saw Lucid's all seeing eye turn upon each of them in turn, looking for his successor. He almost immediately disregarded Haven; his heart was not in ruling, however it lingered between the other two. Both brother and sister fought hard for the respect of their father, yet none had received it fully yet. Perhaps their time to shine was approaching.
She often wondered if Lucid thought upon the fact that, although she should have been only a week or so younger than his offspring, that she did not grow. It was a fact she herself did not know. But fate willed her to stay this way, stunted in growth and cursed by nature, and so she did as fate commanded. If she needed not to grow any larger, so she would not grow any larger. An enemy unseen is a formidable enemy indeed.
"The tides are turning" She said aloud to herself, watching the winds sweep across the plains and hearing the winds echo loudly in her delicate ears, urging her to leave this place where she should not belong and return to the comfort of the den, where all pups should be. Slowly, she turned, and then with the agility and clumsiness only a pup can muster, she scrambled down the rickety path towards the mountain pack den.
Words: 589 Ooc: 'nother bit of reflection for Elva. Just thought I'd throw it in there xD

The ground shook were she lay, the nearing wolves were gone, but their howls still erupted from below the mountains. The kumari plains were having some sort of gathering, of what she was not sure. But deciding not to take anymore time out of her search for redemption, she slowly gathered herself and shook the sleepiness away. Her paws still had a sting to them when she walked, but they had finally stopped bleeding. So with one final yawn, she started her journey towards the scent of the gathering. Rocks and stones tumbled and fell as Nera made her way easily down the mountain. The Kumari Plains lay not to far away and a group of wolves were making themselves comfortable in the grass. The alpha, or what looked to be the alpha, stood tall and proud over his fellow wolves. Nera hesitated to enter, could this be the dreaded alpha Lucid? If it was, she knew being accepted would be a goal not so easily accomplished. Nera closed her eyes, trying to concentrate on what was to come, but a storm was nearing, so her visions were blurry. Eventually, after trying many times to concur what the images were trying to say, she gave up. This time she would have to listen to her instincts, her instincts tolder that she might have a chance....
