The Amethyst Dream
Large paws tread silently through the darkness. The rust colored wolf ran and ran through the blackness, getting no where. He had been running for what seemed like hours, wings pressed close against his sides, his feet slowly starting to ache. His pace grew slower with every step, each one more agonizing than the last. As much as he wished to stop, he had to keep running.
A calm soothing voice echoed out through the cavernous nothing. ‘Seraph,’ it said. The wolf stopped in his tracks, looking around to find where the voice had come from. He finally spotted the source, a small fox, quite far ahead of him. Her gorgeous frame was lit from behind by an unknown source of moonlight. Her shape softened by the light illuminating her fiery red fur. ‘Seraph,’ she called out again. The wolf ran faster this time. Running towards her with a renewed burst of energy, but every step he took the farther the vixen sunk back into the darkness. She called his name again and again, sounding increasingly distant with each utterance of ‘Seraph, Seraph...Seraph...Seraph.....’
‘Talia!’ He cried out into the darkness, running ever faster towards her. She suddenly stopped moving. Seraph ran a few more seconds before stopping, she seemed much, much closer now. The two sat down in unison, still facing each other. ‘Darling, where have you been? I missed you,’ Her voice chimed through the depths ‘I missed you,’ said Seraph as he gazed at her half illuminated form, a small smile crossing his black lips. ‘I’ll take it this is a dream.’
She nodded, a malign twinkle in her obsidian eyes. Something Seraphim didn’t fail to notice. ‘If I said I loved you, all my life I've loved you, would you think me cruel, to presume as much? Should I take more time to declare? Would I seem the fool, to admit as such? In my heart you've always been there.’ ‘You’re not her, are you?’ He said, his smile twisted into a snarl.
‘I am, the lucid dream,’ She said, her eyes now wide open, like holes right through her skull, showing naught but the nothing behind it. Seraphim couldn’t help but stare into them, the sound around him grew muffled. Thus he awoke.
Wake Me Up The rusty wolf came to his senses. He cracked open his still blue eye, than his amber one. The brute looked around, suddenly remembering where he was, noticing the frost covering the trees, the thin coat of snow covering him. A long shiver was sent down Seraph’s spine, a shiver of joy, of fear. The fluffy white powder shifted off him as he stood. He shook his whole body, riding it of snow, an attempt to get blood circulating faster. The wolf stretched his wings out to their full extent, at the tip of each long feather there were markings, which seemed to be eyes. Eyes which blinked. He flapped his wings twice before shooting upwards into the chill early morning air. The brute needed to get going before the morning dew hit. Just as the sun rose he spotted the outskirts of a thick forest, composed of multitudes of species of trees. ‘As good a spot as any,’ He thought to himself. Seraph glided towards the snowy grove, admiring the rays of the rising sun, soaking in their heat. He needed to eat. His thick paws hit the snow, making a crunching sound, he was terrible at landings. The wolf trekked about a mile on foot, till the trees grew thicker. Noticing a few scent markers, he decided here was the place to call out. Seraphim reclined onto his haunches, unruffled wings folded at his sides, he tilted his head back, exposing his throat to the chill morning air. A low howl bubbled up from his throat, slightly quiet at first, than louder. He held his baying for several long seconds before subsiding. [/blockquote]

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - Vanya made her way through the forest she called home. Her steps where soft and silent against the snow covered ground as she threaded her way through the tall trees, her every move was a display of grace and elegance. She only stopped a few times in her patrolling to renew some of the older markings near the borders of the forest before continuing on her way. It was a nice, chilly morning, as it was usual in winter. The dim light of the rising sun made the fresh snow around her shimmer softly. She had been used to start working early in the morning even before joining the pack. But not only was she used to it but she enjoyed it as well. Everything was so calm and peaceful at this time of the day. She sighed contently as she advanced, the serenity of the forest sinking in her very soul and making her relax. She was overall in a rather good mood despite the cold weather that engulfed the lands. Her day had started rather nicely after all; it was a beautiful morning, and little details such as that one never failed to brighten up her spirit.
She smiled to herself as she walked through the woods, taking in her surroundings as of to never forget them. Every texture, every scent, every color; it was all registered in her mind, and it was all linked to one single thing: home. And to think that the mere idea of such a thing had been almost absurd to her some time ago, just because it had been out her reach. But now she had a home and a family again, and it was her duty to keep them safe and together.
She kept on her way silently, musing over different things, from both past and present, and even future. She had a tendency to do that a lot, especially when she was alone. Though there were things that she would rather not think about, like what had happened to her family; it just put her in a dark, angsty mood and she definitively didn’t like feeling that way. A distant sound snapped her out of her thoughts though. It was a low, powerful howl, and it definitively was not from one of her pack mates, so that confirmed her that a loner roamed through the land. ‘Another one?’. Lately a lot of new wolves had been coming over in search of a home, and she knew exactly why. After all the plains no longer belonged to them, and she actually was glad to be able to provided them with refuge, because she knew what it was like to be a wanderer without home. Of course she had expected a lot of wolves to come over, but never these many; it surpassed her expectations. She couldn’t even imagine how much work Minou had had with things the way they were before she stepped up the plate as Alphess and took over a lot of it herself.
She wasn’t about to make this newcomer wait though, so she hastily got on her wait, tracking down the low song that had caught her attention in order to find its source. Her small frame raced through woods, ears perked up in order to catch any other sound. Soon enough a familiar scent made her stop on her tracks. A wolf, yes, male from the looks of it, and definitively not from her pack. Now that she had a bit more of insight as to who this loner might be she focused on finding him, she knew he wasn’t far. Her search wasn’t long though, because just a moment after she saw a large figure amongst the trees ahead of her. There he was. She approached him coolly then, but she was cautious too; never was she to underestimate a brute, especially if she was on her own. She had learned that the hard way when she was a loner herself, males were naturally larger and stronger than females after all.
Her delicate paws drove her beside a rather large tree that stood near the brute. She still was a reasonable distance though. Her yellow-green orbs glinted in the dim morning light as she watched the male before her carefully before speaking, analyzing him carefully. He was large and bulky, obviously a strong individual, and his rusty colored coat contrasted with the whiteness that covered the woods. This only took her a few seconds before she finally decided to speak. “Greetings brute. I am Vanya, Alphess of the Toko Forest pack”, she paused for a second then. “And who might you be?”, she asked calmly, her voice smooth and gentle.. - - - - - - - - - -

The large wolf waited for several minutes. His eyes were illuminated by the bright morning light, his right, a pale icy blue, like his sister’s, his right, a dark orangey yellow. The faded light of the sinking moon lighting up his fur from behind silhouetted the strange runes entwining his body. Seraph spread his wings wide, taking in every drop of golden sunlight. He felt the warmth spreading throughout his body; down the roots of his wings, up his spine, over his ears and torso, down through his legs. The fiery wolf gave a contented sigh. The heat calmed him, let him think.
The dream; that strange dream, he had seen Talia. As a figment of his memory she was exactly as he remembered her to be. But what was that voice? Seraph closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath.
The Amethyst Dream
He was submerged in absolute darkness. The wolf looked around, nothing. Not even the tiniest spec of light to indicate which way was up or down. ‘Talia!’ His cry echoed through the dark. A minute or two later of silence, a fox-like figure appeared thirty yards in front of him, once again illuminated by some unknown light source. ‘Talia,’ Her name whispered through his black lips. ‘The monster,’ The fox’s voice deepened, grew more throaty, changing genders, no, species. ‘In your nightmares,’ Her once musical voice, now three octaves lower, boomed out through the dark. The fox’s eyes, now black pits, even darker than the nothing surrounding them. Seraph was drawn into them. He couldn’t look away, they were engulfing him.
Wake Me Up
The wolf gasped for breath. His eyes opened, bright light flooding his vision. He silently thanked his ancestors for the morning sun. When he finally regained his senses he realized he was shaking. It took several more long breaths to calm him enough to compose himself. ‘By now someone will have heard my call.’ Seraph held his wings close to his sides, keeping him warm, it was almost comforting.
It wasn’t until the she wolf spoke that Seraph took note of her presence. He cocked his head to one side, examining her small form, the color of her pelt, the way she held herself. Even through her confidence he could sense her sentiment of caution, Seraph respected that. “A fine morning isn’t it Vanya, Alphess?” The rusty wolf asked calmly, dipping his head respectfully towards her, but not moving from his seated position. He waited a few seconds before responding. “I am Seraphim of the Blood Maw pack.”He paused, licked his muzzle, than decided to continue. “Let me start again; I am Seraphim, last survivor of the once proud Blood Maw pack; which makes me a loner in search of a home, and a pack. Feel free to call me Seraph, most I knew did.” He added as an after thought.

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - She waited patiently for the brute’s reply. There just was no real reason to rush. The chilly morning air had a ‘strange’ calming effect on her, and she really appreciated that. Then he finally spoke. He started with a simple and rather friendly question. She would have answered to him, but it was pretty obvious it was a rhetorical inquiry when he just carried on with his speech. She didn’t mind it though, he had shown respect, and that was what mattered for now. Not that she was some kind of egocentric jerk, no, but it was a part of her duty to ensure that her position was respected, and she would make sure for it to be that way. True, she could be nice, caring, gentle, anything; but others had better not to forget that she was a step above them because of it. Otherwise they would meet with the ‘not so nice’ and rather ‘scary’ side of her.
The male introduced himself rather nicely, Seraphim was his name. But what caught Vanya’s attention and almost made her shiver were the brute’s last couple of words. He had referred to himself as the last survivor of his pack. Her ears slide back slightly at this: that just needed no explanation, something had happened to his pack, his family. ‘Were they killed?’. That single thought made her freeze where she was as a sudden rush of memories flooded her mind. She could see her parents being torn apart in front of her, she could see her family being destroyed in a second. And then she could see it all repeat itself again not too long after. All that blood … ‘Stop’. A stern command in her mind, but it worked, and she was soon brought back to reality. She felt a bit uneasy, but she paid no heed to it, and soon her attention returned to the bulky male in front of her. This was just not the time to be feeling angsty out of nowhere, she could go a curl up in a corner of her den if she wished later, but right now she had work to do. Plus, she wasn’t the only one who hadn’t had a pretty past, so she thought it was just selfish of her worrying about herself like that when others probably needed her support.
It only took her a few seconds to recover from the unpleasant flashback, and she hoped she hadn’t shown too much emotion in that moment, especially if that could bring out questions from the brute. She didn’t like sharing her past and history with others, especially with someone she had just met, so she would rather avoid anything that could bring the subject out. Vanya decided that she wouldn’t keep him waiting for a reply any longer then, even if just a few seconds had passed since he introduced himself. “I am sorry to ear about your pack … Seraph”, she hesitated a bit when it came to mentioning his name. It just felt a bit weird to call someone she had just met by a nickname, but since he had mentioned it she assumed that he would rather be called that. “You are welcome to stay and join the our pack if you wish. It may not be the larger pack around but I can assure you that this is a good place to live in, and you might as well be able to find the home you seek with us”. Her tone was pleasant and honest. She knew what it was to be without a home after all, and if this brute, Seraph, was looking for a home she was happy to provide him with one. - - - - - - - - - -

Hexxus had been out doing his rounds in the middle of the territory, He wasn't expecting anybody but those who were on patrol this early in the morning to be up. He enjoyed the early morning, a light snow had fallen during the night making the air crisp and refreshing. The oddly colored Grey, and ruby red pelted male walked slowly threw the new snow, his paws seemed to be silenced by it as he moved, but his pelt in the colorless environment was a dead giveaway.
As he walked turned down another older trail he was stopped by the presence of a fallen tree. "Well time to put these powers to use and warm them up." He said to out-loud to himself while smiling. He first began focusing on the fallen tree and his eyes began glowing bright amber brown, The forces of his elemental power began to manifest around the tree completely covering it in a golden glow, as the glow intensified large amounts of sand burst out of the icy ground and started swirling around the log.
As the sand began to increase in speed, a howl broke Hexxuses concentration sending a spray of both sand, dirt, and shredded wood everywhere in a small dust cloud. That was something he wasn't expecting, but regained concentration quickly after coughing and sneezing several times, and settled the dust quickly. "That was a wake up call." he spoke shaking his fur out to get rid of the remaining dust but now he smelled like a pine tree due to ultra fine particles of pine tree dust that got into his fur. He waited to see if a howl was going to be returned and when none was spoken back from his pack he decided to answer the strangers call.
He calmly lifted his muzzle and let loose a musical howl himself, telling the other male he was on his way, however Hexxus was unaware that his alphess was already there. After hexxuses howl died off he started making his way toward the location where he heard the howl hopping the male was still there when he reached its location.

Seraph sensed the she-wolf's sudden pang of suffering. He yearned to reach out to her; dash over and give her a reassuring lick on the muzzle, press up against her, keep her warm. The sun was slowly rising now The wolf only managed to restrain himself knowing that eventually there would be a time for this, all he had to do was wait. Even knowing this, it was still hard to sit there and watch her, hard to hold his tongue.
Finally the fae seemed to come back from her own abyss. And she spoke. An invitation to join her pack, quite generous of her, having only known Seraph for a few minutes.
"Thank you, alphess. That's quite a generous offer, and I will gladly accept it. I do not wish to be a burden, so any task you assign I will fulfill glady," His ears perked up as a melodic howl sounded through the air, the tone was friendly but made him slightly uneasy none-the-less. He wasn't at all fond of crowds. The bulky wolf sat there for a moment, pondering what to say next, the sun was rising ever higher in the sky, it was about morning now, although still somewhat early.
"A friend of yours, Vanya?" Seraph asked. The rusty wolf let out a small relaxed yawn and licked his chops. He felt he was warming up to the femme quite quickly, and vice versa. The brute decided to take a chance and readjust himself, and moved towards her ever so slightly as he awaited her reply.
Ooc:// Sorry, rather horrid today, better than nothing though. Your go chi.

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - Vanya would have said something in return to the brute, but just when she intended to do so a melodic howl echoed through the woods, catching not only her attention but his too apparently. Her ears went up as she listened carefully, looking in the direction where the sound had come from with her muzzle slightly raised in the air, as if to catch any possible lingering smell that could be related to the howl. She didn’t need any scent to know the source of the song though. With enough time she had come to recognize each one of her pack members not only by their scent but by their voice as well, and she recognized this one as well. It didn’t come from too far away, she could tell, so it wouldn’t be long before the wolf that had called joined them.
What surprised her was the fact that there actually was someone else up beside herself: the camp had been completely silent and void of activity when she set off to patrol after all. But then again, that had been some time ago, it was only natural for others to be up and tending to their duties as well.
Seraph’s deep voice brought her attention back to him though. He asked her about the wolf that a howled a mere moment ago. “Yeah, you could say so”, she said calmly. “If I’m not wrong that must be Hexxus, one of our fellow pack-mates”. She paused for a moment then, as if pondering something. “He must be coming this way as well, and from the sounds of it he isn’t too far away either, so he should be arriving soon enough … We may as well wait for him before heading to the dens”. There was another short pause before she continued. “He is a good wolf, so there shouldn’t be any problem”, she said, as if to reassure him. To tell the truth she had only met the male a couple of times before because she was constantly on the move, patrolling her lands, and apparently so was he, so they rarely had the opportunity to meet.
Of course Vanya did not miss how Seraph had seemingly started to feel more comfortable around her, he even looked more relaxed. To tell the truth she felt quite at ease around him as well, the wariness of the unknown now fully washed away from her mind. Then she saw him move in her direction, approaching her slowly. She didn’t move away from him as he did so though, it didn’t really bother her. If anything she was glad that he actually wanted to approach her; some wolves were just so hesitant or scared when she was around: seriously, was she that scary? She wasn’t even what one would call large to intimidate them like that, but then again she had been told that her glares would seem to be able to kill. ‘Maybe it’s that …’. Really, that was such an innocent and naïve though it amused her to even consider it. But alas, one must never leave an option unchecked as long as it’s possible.
Her previous childish thoughts as brought, unknowingly to her, a small smile to her face as she looked absently ahead of her. ‘Really, how much of a fool can one be?’, she laughed internally at herself for this: sometimes the silliness she was capable of surprised even her own. And then she remembered that she had yet to welcome Seraph into the pack. Not that she did that often, but today was different: she had been in an amazing good mood ever since she woke up, even indulging to her own silliness like a moment before. She turned to look at the male, her eyes shimmering with a joy that seemed enlighten her whole form. “Oh, and Seraph … Welcome to the pack”, she said with a tiny smile. Now they just had to wait for Hexxus to reach them.
- - - - - - - - - - OOC - Ok, so here I'm assuming the Vanya and Hexxus have already met before, is that ok with you? If not just tell me and I'll edit :3 [/blockquote]

Hexxus continued at his current pace easily moving threw trails he knew would bring him to the source of the call, he had noticed an increase in the number of wolves who were trying to enter packs since the fall of the untaken lands that now belonged to the mountain pack. It irked him that the power hungry bastard wasn't satisfied with a single land no he had to come and take others if anything him, his mate, and his offspring all needed to be killed so his rain would be history. He couldn't let these thoughts make his day bad, and bushed them to the side.
After several minuets he finally broke through a an area of small bushes and stopped his forward motion, immediately his alphas was smelled along with a unfamiliar scent, and he immediately went into submission when Hexxus came into view of her and the stranger. "Good morning My-lady." He said before bowing very respectfully to her and then turning his attention to the new wolf and then standing at attention. "Greetings." His voice calm as he dipped his head toward the male, however his senses seemed to be on alert in-case of aggression from this male, if he meant harm to the alphas he was going to protect her.
However the male didn't show any signs of aggression in fact he seemed pretty calm, and so did his alphas but it didn't mean he wasn't, he didn't know this stranger, and until he did he would keep an alert status high. He also knew if the alphas gave him clearance to be accepted into the pack. Hexxus was going to do his job of either designating him a empty den, or he would give the newcomer the option for him to constructing one for him with whatever materials he liked. he still needed to ask the alphas if she wanted one constructed for her, or the one she had currently to be updated to something more her style.

"Hexxus," The wolf said slowly, letting the name roll off his tongue. He shrugged slightly. "A good name. And the less trouble the better. Only the gods know I've had enough to last a lifetime." A large smile drifted across Seraph's face. He couldn't resist letting his tail swish back and forth slightly. This was the warm welcome he was hoping for. The rusted wolf laughed lightly as Vanya spoke, she seemed so, so cheerful; he had no reason not to be.
"Thank you Vanya, I appreciate it." He wasn't quite sure what kind of question to ask, or how to ask it. The brute paused to mull over it for a few seconds. "So, is there an alpha, or are you running things all on your own?" Slightly rocky question, but better to be blunt than give the wrong impression.
Seraph looked over her finely toned frame, admiring the subtly of it all, how the shades in her pelt kept the thickness of her muscle well hidden. The symmetry of everything about her. The she wolf didn't seem to be at all phased when he moved slightly closer, that was a good sign. Maybe he could make a move sooner than he expected.
The wolf's gaze drifted skywards, it was now quite bright out. The pastel tones of dawn fading into crystal clear blue, the solid wall of sky only broken by the occasional wisp of cloud. He tilted his head back slightly, closed his eyes. Let fresh smell of the woods engulf him. He was at peace here. A slight rustle at the edge of the forest closest to them.
Seraph's survival instincts kicked in; in one swift movement he was on his feet, his head had whipped about to face Hexxus as he emerged from the underbrush. A growl surging in his throat, which he managed to suppress. He promptly sat back down, "Scared the living shit out of me." He thought to himself. "I shouldn't let myself get that deep in thought. Might end up hurting someone."
"Hello, Hexxus I presume?" Said Seraph, giving his best attempt at a smile to indicate his pacifism. "Sorry, you caught me off guard there. I didn't think you'd arrive that fast."

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - She cast the brute one last glance after he finished what he had to say, before turning her attention to the direction where she knew Hexxus was coming from. As flattering as it would have sounded to say that it was an intuition driven action, she knew it really wasn’t. She was just guessing that that might as well be the right direction to look at because the howl announcing her pack-mate’s approach had come from there. And apparently, there was nothing else to do than to wait for the approaching male to meet them for the time being. And so, a short, yet pleasant silence fell between both wolves.
And it was indeed a short silence, because it didn’t take too long before Seraph decided to speak again. And what he asked next nearly made her choke on the air that was about to enter her lungs. She wasn’t shocked or offended by his question though, at least not overly so; it had just taken her out of guard. In all the time she had been living within the pack, she had never considered the possibility of having a companion, a mate to support her. It hadn’t even crossed her mind, and this was due to the fact that she never really had the time or the energy to think about it. Before she joined the pack all her attention was fixed in Akai’s and her own survival. Then, when they had finally been accepted into the Toko Forest pack, all she had wanted to do was to put her mind at ease and recover from the physical and mental stress that had been inflicted into her. It didn't take long after that for her to step up the plate as the new Alphess, and ever since then she had just been too busy fixing a pack that had been without a real lead for far too long. So yes, she had definitively not given it enough thought, which meant she was pretty unprepared for having such a thing asked to her out of the blue.
She was quick to collect herself though, not letting any hint of her inner turmoil show ... Or at least she tried for it to be that way. She tried to keep a calm and relaxed façade, barely letting her expression change as she turned to look up at Seraph. But it was in moments like these that the expressiveness of her eyes tended to ruin her perfect act, and she really hopped that this wouldn't be the case. She sighed softly in resignation to whatever might happen before addressing the male next to her. “Well … I’m on my own for now”, she said softly. Ok, this was definitively awkward, but she continued nonetheless. “I’ve gotten used to it though, so it’s not much trouble”, to tell the truth it wasn’t even a “trouble” at all. She loved her job, but she didn't feel like getting into details, so she tried to make things short and simple for now. “Besides, my Betess, Minou, is a great help if things ever happened to be too much to handle”. Though if she recalled it well, it was her who had stepped in to help Minou. After all, the blue femme had been taking in both the role of Alphess and Betess before she even came into the pack, so she guessed she probably had relieved a lot of that work load off of the older fae’s shoulders. Now they worked as a team, helping each other when needed while protecting the pack; effectively accomplishing their responsibilities as its lead.
But then something else hit her … Had she just admitted that sometimes things could be too much to handle by herself? ‘Really, how stupid can I be?’. She had just disclosed something that could be seen as a weakness to a stranger, and in her book that was one of the things not to do, ever. Hell, she wasn’t really open about herself with the ones she trusted either, so just blurting things like that out was pretty stupid in her opinion. Because obviously she did not share her weaknesses with anyone, specially being the proud and headstrong female she was. But then again, she had already done it, and now there was no turning back. Maybe she could just pretend nothing had happened and go on with the current subject?
It wasn’t long before she forced back to reality though. There was a slight rustling in what little foliage was left during winter near themm and that deffinitively got her attention. Ok, something was there, and she knew she didn’t have to let her guard down. But she definitively hadn't expected what happened next. Another wolf came out of the bushes, as expected, and in that same moment Seraph got up violently, a deep growl surging from his throat. It was such a unexpected and violent reaction she almost had the urge to jump out of the way immediately, startled by the sudden action. But she held her ground instead, giving her companion a surprised and slightly alarmed look. Her expression soon turned back to normal though, as she processed what had just happened. And here she had thought she was unpredictable … Well, apparently Seraph had just won over that.
She gave a last, concerned glance in the rusty male's direction before turning her attention to the new wolf that had just joined them. She could easily tell it was the brute they had been waiting for. “Ah, Hexxus, it is good to see you. I supposed you were heading this way, so we were just waiting for you”, she said while forcing a pleasant grin onto her muzzle. But then she noticed just how tense and defensive he was, and Seraph was probably the cause of it. ‘Males ...’, she grunted to herself in a mix of annoyance and defeat. She guessed that it hadn’t even occurred Hexxus that if Seraph actually had meant any harm to her or the pack she most likely would already have fried him to a crisp, and she wouldn't be talking so casually with him. It seemed as though she was still underestimated by some, but she took no offense in it. If anything she was glad to see the desire to protect the pack in the brown male’s actions.
She didn’t want unnecessary tensions floating around though, so she decided to intervene. “Relax Hexxus …”, she said coolly. “Seraph doesn’t mean us any harm”. She tried to make sure for the brute to know that she was not scolding him or anything of the like, she just wanted to pacify the current situation. Vanya gave him an understanding look to make this clear. She knew he was only trying to protect her, but he was worrying too much when it was not needed. “Actually … I think I have yet to introduce you”, she paused for a second then. “Hexxus, this is Seraph … I mean, Seraphim. And as of now he is one of our fellow pack members, so please pay him the proper respect as your fellow pack-mate”. She then turned to look at the rusty male near her. “And as you guessed, this is Hexxus, one of the warriors in our pack”. She waited a moment for both males to acquaint each other before adding a new bit of information. She looked at the Seraph before uttering a word though, as if she wanted to know whether or not he was okay with what she was about to say. “I was about to show Seraph the way to the camp so he can settle down in a den of his choice and relax a bit … Unless there is something else you want to do before we go, Seraph”. Her eyes then shifted back to Hexxus before continuing. “Would you like to come over or would you rather continue with your patrol? I just don’t want to hinder you”.

He listened to the alphess's words and immediatly calmed himself down after she said for him to treat him with the same respect as any of his fellow pack members, Hexxus's responce was "Im sorry my lady, its just been really hard to trust those whome I dont know with all this mess of the Mountain pack taking all the lands it has been hard to trust any from the outside i fear somthing will happen every time a new commer comes around." his words seemed to be that of fear and that of worry of an impending attack yet none has occured.
He turned his attention back to Seraph and said "please forgive my actions Seraph its a pleasure to meet you." He once again and turned his attention to his alphess as she asked him to join him and her back to the main camp. "Mylady I would be honored to join you, this will give me time to get to know our newest pack member a little." With that he waited for the two members to start moving toward camp, but before they set off however Hexxus asked. "Seraph this might be a strange question but for the time being i have been asked to make and clean out dens, would you prefere a den already made and used, or I can create you one out of whatever earthly material you like thanks to my element." He offered the new male with a shallow wolfish grin.

The second the words came out of Seraph's mouth, he felt a pang of regret searing through the large X shaped scar on his chest. "Shit. You idiot!" He said to himself, "What the Hell were you thinking? Asking her something like that." The wolf felt even worse after Vanya's reaction to his question; which was not quite as bad as he expected, but still pretty bad. "I'm sorry." He said quietly. "That was out of line, what I said....It wont happen again."
And than, after Vanya's introduction of him to Hexxus, "Please, Seraph is more than enough to have in a name, a few I knew were bold enough to simply leave it at Ser." The wolf chuckled lightly, "After all, its just a name." He was glad neither of the two took his spurt of aggression too seriously. He seemed to have been able to get a grip on himself before seeming too dangerous.
"I don't believe there's anything else I want to do, at the moment." Seraph said. A complete lie, there were so many things he wanted to say and do at the moment, he wanted to dash over to the femme, embrace her. Have her sleek form pressed up against his, lend her his warmth. She seemed so lonely. Cheerful on the outside, but with a large aching pit inside her. Of course Seraph let none of this show, not even a sideways glance out of the corner of his eye to reveal his wishes.
The wolf's eyes widened slightly as he heard Hexxus' worries. Well, his right eye, did anyways, his left stayed the same; a moon yellow iris, pupil, black as a moonless night, the scleras the same obsidian color. An extremely thin scar ran from an inch above to an inch under his yellow eye. A vein twitched ever so silghtly under it, Seraph paid no heed, but the vain twitched anyways, as if agitated by some unknown force. The runes circling around his body, seemed to move faster, quavering just the slightest bit.
"What's this about a mountain pack taking over?" He asked, suddenly on edge once again. His bones ached, his power begging to be released, even if just the slightest bit. He was restless.
And in response to Hexxus' most recent question, "A most generous offer, Hexxus," Said Seraph graciously, "However, I must decline. I feel most at home when surrounded by the material, no one but I can manipulate." The rusty wolf grinned. "What might this mysterious element be, you ask?" He let out a barking laugh. "Why, myself of course." He let his power flow freely. He could feel the bone studs in his shoulders growing, piercing the top layer of skin and fur, a few drops of blood staining his already red pelt. The bone expanded over him making a caprice of sorts, this one fairly thin but covering everything. He could feel other studs on his ribs breaking through his skin as well. Seraph winced slightly, still not used to the feeling. He finally stopped when he had a large shell covering his whole back and tail, going all the way down to his knee's. He laid down slowly, breaking the studs off from the rest of his little hut.
"Magnificent isnt it?" He said, more to himself than either of his companions. Seraph felt suddenly drained, and rather hungry. "I'll make another when we get to the nesting grounds. This ones no use to anyone here." He crawled out of it, walked around behind and put his paw through the back, shattering it. A small smirk crossed his lips as he watched it crumble.

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - Vanya could easily tell that Seraph was uncomfortable, though she couldn’t exactly tell why. It wasn’t until he apologized for his previews questions that she understood what was going on. Was he regretting what he had asked? But why? Really, she didn’t mind it. Though it was true that to any other the inquiry would have seemed disrespectful and out of line. Maybe she was too soft or something of the like, or maybe she was just different. Unlike other leaders she actually enjoyed getting to know her pack members, and asking questions about each other was pretty nice way to do it. It was true that they had to respect her as their Alphess, but Vanya was of the belief that building walls between them and looking down on them was just not the way to make things work. Her audits slid back slightly then; she wanted to tell him this in order to reassure him. But alas, before she could say anything Hexxus finally appeared before them, effectively cutting off their previous conversation.
Things had started a bit oddly between both brutes. The atmosphere was tense, but eventually things seemed to lighten up and introductions were made. Seraph made a small comment about his name while this was done, and it obviously was meant to sport some humor to it, lighting any lingering tensions. This earned him an amused smile on her part. From that point on things seemed to be running smoothly once again, seeing as the tensions between both brutes dropped. Hexxus apologized for his previews behavior, but she couldn’t really blame him for his mistrust of the brute standing besides her, who was a stranger to him after all. She nodded knowingly at his small explanation. After what had happened with the Plains and the mountain pack it was just normal to be wary of every wolves that came into the forest. She had learned to leave her mistrust aside though, because not all wolves came over with ill intentions, and she had to act accordingly when that was the case, which was most of the time.
The deep sound of Seraph’s vocals in response to Hexxus statement made turn to look at him. It wasn’t really a statement but a question, a question that certainly surprised the young femme. He didn’t know about Lucid’s claim over the Kumori Plains? Her first reaction was to think he wasn’t being serious, or that she had misunderstood the question; but the brute seemed to be taken aback by the news, which obviously pointed to the fact that he didn’t know of the latest happenings in the Plains. Vanya tilted her head to the side slightly, unwillingly giving her the cute looks of a confused puppy. After Lucid’s call to reassure his claim over the plains she had never expected to meet someone who didn’t know about it. After all, by now it would have been just normal for every wolf in Aelyn to know about Lucid’s recent actions. She doubted anyone had missed his call, and even then, she knew that news like this tended to spread like a wildfire. From loners to pack members, this was the kind of things that no one missed. And yet here was Seraph, who apparently had no idea of what had happened in the last weeks.
This surprised her, but she wasn’t about to start questioning him about it. Instead she decided she might as well explain the current situation to him. She turned to look up at the rusty male then, this was something he needed to know if he intended to stay. “You haven’t heard? … Not too long ago Lucid, the mountain’s pack’s Alpha, claimed the Kumori Plains for himself. The Plains are supposed to be free lands for loners and everyone who doesn’t want to join a pack to live in, they are not meant to be claimed by anyone”. She paused for a moment then, not sure if she should continue. After a few seconds of deliberation and a small air intake to her lungs, she decided to continue. “What makes this all the more troubling is that we have no idea what his intentions are. One thing is for sure though, we need to be alert at all times, because if he decided to turn on the pack lands, with the newly acquired force of the loners that might have joined him, it would be devastating”. She fell totally silent then, her gaze lowering as if to avert the brute’s eyes. She was worried, she couldn’t deny that, her home’s safety was possibly at stake after all; and as much as she would turn things over in her head nothing seemed to make sense anymore.
Her attention was soon diverted by Hexxus generous offer of providing Seraph with a den. A small smile made its way to her lips then, it almost looked forced, but at least it was there. She should have expected for the brown brute to offer such a thing beforehand. He was definitively a good wolf, so dedicated to the pack and always willing to help, it was good to have him around. The weight of previous worries seemed to lighten a bit off of her shoulders as she looked curiously at the exchange between both males, that spark so characteristic her apparently having returned to her eyes. Seraph graciously declined the other male’s offer, but what was this other element he was talking about? It wasn’t long before she had an answer to that though, as bone studs started to protrude from the rusty brute’s body. Her light eyes widened as she watched in awe the bone expand around him, until he was completely surrounded by it. The young femme was speechless, never had she a thing like this, was this his power? Well, it certainly was a very unique one; she had met many wolves in her life, and seen many different powers, but she had never seen a wolf able to control his own body like. The little hut he had created was made from his own bone after all. “Amazing …”, she murmured more to herself than anyone else, her eyes still wide in shock; though a smile had made its way to her face again, making her whole expression look a bit weird. She turned to look at his companion then, quickly recovering her composure “Is this a power of yours Seraph?”, she inquired, “It truly is one of a kind”.
It was only then the smell of blood on the brute’s coat reached her though, immediately picking her attention. She looked at him worriedly, knowing what this meant; he also looked spent and tired all of a sudden. “Are you quite all right Seraph? You see to be hurt …”, worry was obvious in her voice as she said this. “Maybe it would be good for us to head to the camp so you can rest, and if you’re hurt I could ask Minou to check you, she’s an excellent healer after all”, she said the last part rather pleasantly, not wanting to start an unpleasant atmosphere around them. She looked expectantly at him, hoping he would choose to go with her and recover from whatever had worn him down. She turned around then, ready to guide both males to the camp. She cast a small glance back at them, just to ensure they were okay with it. “Well then, are you ready to --”. Just then an oh so familiar sound caught her attention. It was a loud and low bark, calling for her to come to its source. Wait a moment, she knew that voice, she was pretty sure she knew, but she was having a bit of trouble placing who was its owner.
But then it hit her, and her eyes widened in shock when she figured it out, ‘It can’t be … What is he --’. “Lucid”, she murmured softly, looking to the ground beneath her in utter concentration, as if she was trying to convince herself that it was really him. “I have to go”, she uttered suddenly, agitation evident in her voice. For a second she actually thought about bringing both males with her, but she dismissed the idea as soon as it appeared. Seraph needed to rest, and in order to do so someone had to guide him to the camp, and seeing as she apparently wouldn’t be able to, Hexxus would have to do it. She quickly changed her direction, but before going she turned to look at both of her companions, “Hexxus, could you please take Seraph to the camp in my stead? It seems I have pressing matters to attend”. And without even waiting for an answer she was gone.

He listened carefully to the alphess' telling of the problems with this 'Lucid' character. He sounded like quite a bastard indeed. He was going to give an explanation as to why he had no knowledge of this before, than he realized, he didn't know how he'd even got here, forget about current events. This slightly disturbed him, but he paid little heed, there wasn't much these days that wasn't strange and confusing anyways.
Seraph let just a hint of a smile cross his face in Vanya's awe of his power. They seemed to be getting off to a good start. The bulky rusted wolf was so used to having his skin pierced and nicked by his power, he had hardly noticed the few drops of blood trickling down his shoulder. He listened carefully, taking note of the pang of concern in her voice. A warm fuzzy feeling descended on him; he knew the alpha was kind-hearted, but this was rather unexpected, extremely pleasant, but still unexpected. He chuckled slightly as he spoke, "Oh, this? I didn't notice. I thank you for your concern Vanya," Said Seraph gently, a smile crossing his black lips. "But I can assure you I'm quite alright.
"Minou sounds like quite the competent beta indeed. You must be lucky to have one so reliable under your command." A deep and powerful, almost menacing bark resonated through the tree's. His ears perked up instantly. He noticed Vanya who, just seconds ago, was perfectly composed, even cheerful, suddenly on edge. His ears picked up the single word, definitely and unmistakeably; "Lucid". A low growl rose involuntarily in his throat. He gave a slow, full body, shiver, unnoticeable, but it was there. His hackles raised. The tone of her voice indicated surprise, worry, anger, and several other emotions. But not fear. His mind raced, he didn't hear the last of what she said. She darted off through the forest, and he followed in hot pursuit.
