Large, dark paws moved quickly through the underbrush that was the lands of the Forest as a large brute used his all too keen senses to search out the one in power of these lands. Vanya, he had heard her name on the winds as he stalked each terrain's borders, working and lurking, trying to find which one he could take over next. Toko seemed to him the best choice at the moment, therefore he had begun to make his way through.
His glowing golden eyes scanned the terrain, his enhanced senses picking up every scent change, every sound... as he moved with unnatural grace and speed. He had slowly learned what the current extent of his newfound powers were, and he had been beginning to hone them and to learn the ways they worked. He learned their strengths and weaknesses, if you could call any of it a weakness.
Once he had come close to the Alphess' scent, he let loose a booming bark, beckoning her to him and announcing his presence to her. She would probably assume the source of the bark was the threat coming from the plains, after all, Lucids voice was one that many could never mistake.
Lucid sat calmly on his rear as he waited for Vanya to step forth and to greet him. He had shown no signs of aggression as of yet, therefore he felt he should be greeted with respect, considering he even announced his presence to her and everything. He merely wished to discuss a few things with her and decide what fate would befall more lands of Aelyn. She had a choice in this... at least a little one, therefore he would see what she was willing to do in order to keep her pack thriving and surviving.
Lucid knew that it would take more than one wolf to bring him down, if any could do it. He had yet to find anything that could really cause him harm, not to mention with his size and enhanced strength, he felt he was nearly invincible. This was why he was as calm as he was. His body showed no signs of hostility as he waited rather unnaturally patiently for his nature for the Alphess of the Toko Forest.

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - Vanya sprinted through the forest, her petite paws quickly guiding her to the source of the bark that had snapped her out of her previous activities. A new brute had just come seeking acceptance into her pack, and she had just been in the process of greeting him and guiding him to the camp when the ominous sound of Lucid’s voice had interrupted her, forcing her to leave one of her fellow pack mates to guide the newcomer. Little did she know that she was now being followed though.
She advanced in a hurried pace, eager to reach her destination as soon as possible. She just couldn’t understand what was Lucid, the one that had claimed the Plains, doing in her lands. She had known it was him from the very start, seeing as she had recognized his voice. That’s why she had left what she was doing before in such hastiness. And now here she was, heading in the direction where she knew the Alpha of the Misuteriasu Mountains was. Soon enough she could smell a new scent lingering in the air, it was faint at first, but it grew more intense as she approached. It had to be him.
She slowed down a bit then, advancing carefully between the tall trees. Her heart was beating furiously against her ribcage as her light green orbs scanned the area around her; she knew she was getting closer. The young femme was by no means scared though; agitated? Yes. Surprised to have him here? Yes, but fear was not something easy to find in her. She had dealt with big, bad brutes before, she even had scars as a proof; and she was confident she would be able to deal with this one as well.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of walking silently between the mighty trunks that adorned her land, she made out a dark figure not too far away from where she was. She continued her approach then, her pace a bit faster and steady as ever. By now Vanya had decided that in order to deal with the current situation properly she would have to push her worries to the back of her mind and forget them for a moment so they wouldn’t cloud her good judgment, and that’s exactly what she did. Her whole façade changed in a second, and she went from being an over-agitated bundle of nerves, to the determined and unwavering leader she was. She would find out what business had Lucid in her land; and if he was looking for trouble, if he was looking to harm her pack or her lands in any way, then she would gladly wreck hell loose upon him.
By now she was quite close, so close she was sure it would be quite easy for the brute to know she was lurking around, but she didn’t show herself yet. What she saw then made her stop in her tracks for a second as she watched in awe the black male before her. ‘Holy sh--’, he was huge. She had seen many big wolves before, but never had she seen one that reached the heights this one did. Hell, she had heard about him being averly big, but this was just ridiculous. Being the size he was, she was sure that many wolves would be intimidated just by the sight of him; but not her. After all, this is Vanya we’re talking about; and Lucid might have had an unnatural size and possibly strength on his side, but Vanya had the guts and unwavering determination to confront him if necessary. And so, she decided it was finally time to face him.
Her lithe form moved forward, no longer caring about keeping her presence hidden, if it had been at all before. When the distance was enough for her to address him she decided to speak. “Lucid I assume?”, she asked briefly, yet courteously. He was being quite civil as of yet, so she had no reason to act otherwise. “I am Vanya, Alphess of the Toko Forest. May I ask what has brought you all the way to my lands?”. She stood firmly in front of the ebony brute, her tail curled up over her lower back as if to reassure her position. Her light green eyes examined him carefully as she waited for an answer on his part. She was a bit tense, yes, but she figured it was only normal seeing as something deep inside of her was practically forcing her not to trust this brute.
- - - - - - - - - - OOC - Wee, fianlly, here I am xD. Sorry for taking so long though. Oh, and just a side note if you're confused as to why Vanya is randomly sprinting through the forest at the beginning, I just had her jump from This thread directly, so that should explain where she is comming from e.e [/blockquote]

Seraph padded quickly after Vanya, his slight mental black out caused him not to notice her command to Hexxus to show him the way to the dens. She had left, he had followed. He was slower making his way through the forest than in the mountains, he tripped occasionally on tree roots, protruding rocks etc. He finally gave up and half ran half flew through the undergrowth. Lifting himself just a foot or so off the ground, gliding over bushes, dodging tree branches. This was much more practical.
After several minutes of following he finally regained his senses. 'Shit, she probably wanted me to stay, too late to go back now though,' And so he kept on. He noticed her slowing down, and decided to follow suit, he glid to a landing, than, careful to not loose his footing, crept after her.
Her quite paw steps stopped all together. Something didn't feel right. Seraph held his ground, waiting, a flash of snowy white fur, a scent of blood, the sound of a gasp, anything...but no sounds came. Finally after what felt like hours, he could hear her voice up ahead. Only faintly. He managed to make out a fragment of her sentence "Lucid . . . Alphess of . . . ask what . . . you . . . my lands?"
Seraph decided to get closer. A sliver of her white coat caught his attention, he made his way cautiously in that direction. He stood at his alpha's back.
"Vanya," He murmured, as if to alert her of his presence. He was about to say something else, but something else stole his attention. The massive obsidian black brute, paws and wings a-fire. His huge eyes fiery as well. The enormity of this wolf was astounding, he'd seen wolves much bigger than himself, but the size of this wolf was unbelievable.
He could feel the tip of his nose being tickled by a scent, all too familiar. Death. His lungs contracted, pushing all the air out of him, his throat constricted. There his alpha stood proudly, unafraid of the wolf easily five times larger, yet he, Seraph, stood almost paralyzed in fear.
The edges of his vision blurred contracting into blackness. He felt as if every last drop of warmth absorbed earlier that day had been drained from his body. Seraph could feel his soul being tugged at, lightly at first, than suddenly mind was wrenched from body, and he was submerged into the abyss...
The Amethyst Dream
His eyes were open, but still all he could see was blackness. He was floating downwards, down, down... down into the dark. An unnatural silence was all that awaited him.
"That body," A deep ominous voice boomed out through the darkness. No, it was, the darkness. "That beautiful, perfect body. Its monstrous, it smells so excruciatingly good. Brimstone and malice...and, death." This last word was said slowly, as if the speaker relished in the very thought of it. The voice was cheerful, but a sort of disgusting, stomach wrenching cheerful at that.
"Wouldn't you agree, Seraph?"
"Who are you?" Seraph's voice seemed muffled by the darkness, which was almost tangible. "Who? Who is just the form following the function of what, and what I am is a voice in the dark."
"Well I can see that."
"Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation I'm merely remarking on the paradox of asking a voice in the dark who . he . is."
Seraph snarled slightly. "Quit being a weasel and answer my damn question." The wolf clearly wasn't in the mood to be fucked with.
"Can't you tell?" Said the voice, "Why, I'm you." He laughed. There was no joy in the laugh. It was quite serious. "Heh... Ha... Ahah... Gahaha... Hahehaha... Ahaha... HAH! BaHaAhAhaHahAhaHA! GAhAH!" The the darkness was now definitely the voice. The laugh echoed through Seraph's head. And it stopped.
"I'm the monster in your nightmares" Seraph's old mate's voice suddenly rang out through the black. It was drowned out by the first voice, now deeper and more threatening than before.
"The fiend of a thousand faces..." The darkness opened up before him. Seraph stared into it, and a thousand dark orange eyes stared back.
"That body, that glorious body, will be MINE!"
Wake Me Up The wolf was almost blinded by the sunlight that flooded his vision. He was back, he could breathe. He checked his surroundings, he hadn't collapsed. Lucid didn't have his massive teeth clenching his throat, hardly a second had passed. He took a deep breath. Seraph was ready for whatever stood before him.

Lucid had sensed her presence long before the Alphess could sense his, his keen senses picking up her every emotion that portrayed itself through her scent glands. He placed a smirk on his face as he realized she hadn't come alone, and chuckled ever so slightly to himself.
When she approached him, he was pleased to see she had taken some notice of his size. He curled his tails calmly around his paws as he sat down facing her, his large wings folded to his sides, making his sitting form seem all that more massive. She greeted him politely, though he knew she was wary of his presence on her lands.
She cut right to the chase, which pleased Lucid and amused him greatly. A wolf that is direct to the point was always worthy of some respect, that was for sure. He gave her a bow, as an alpha would to another, showing his respect for her authority over these lands. He took in her body language, untrusting of him and tense, before he considered anything further. His posture, though still and unmoving, showed one of relaxation and no hostility, not even seeming to show his guard was up in a defensive manner. He merely sat, staring down at the alphess before him, and pondered a moment her question before he answered.
"Thank you for that kind and respectful greeting. Its nice to see that there are some wolves that still do respect authority and equal power amongst peers." He paused a moment before speaking again, his smooth, silky words almost like a seductive poison drifting from his maw. "Your assumption is correct. I am Lucid, Alpha of the Mountains. As for why I come to your lands, I am currently greeting the alphas that have claimed lands that touch the borders to my own. Why we have not conversed in so much time is beyond me, so I figured I would traverse lands and introduce myself formally to my fellow leaders." He gave another soft nod in her direction as another form of respect. Shortly afterward, another brute had joined them. Lucid glanced in his direction, though the movement with his eyes would have been unnoticeable, as he held no pupils, iris or anything of the sort to direct where his direct line of sight was. He considered the brute for a moment, before turning his gaze to the Alphess in front of him. "You're right to distrust me. A fine quality in any leader. Trust is something earned and respected, not something to be given lightly, as any alpha or alphess would know, and as I'm sure you, yourself know when accepting members into your pack." He continued speaking, and it almost seemed as if he hadn't even acknowledge the brute. "Alas, I merely wish to speak with you on equal terms and preferably from the prying ears of other wolves. You know, Alpha to Alphess?" He nodded toward her once more, his posture remaining unmoving and still, though relaxed and unthreatening. He waited patiently for her response, considering his words carefully.[/blockquote]

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - So far Lucid had not shown any sign of hostility, if anything he seemed to be quite relaxed and at ease in her presence. In fact, everything seemed to point to the fact that she probably didn’t even need to worry that much, that maybe everything would be just fine in the end. And yet she could not bring herself to be her usual pleasant self, not around him, not even as he addressed her in a very smooth and pleasant tone. Instead, unsettlingly serious, which was quite unusual on her. He introduced himself then, and she nodded in acknowledgment at this, mimicking his previous actions, since she had already introduced herself. He then proceeded to explain the reasons he had to be here, just as she had requested. All was good so far, he seemed to be respectful enough, and as long as he kept things this way she would keep respect running on her side as well.
As he explained why he was here, his own words made her realize something; she had yet to meet all the other alphas that had claimed lands in Aelyn. Maybe that would have been the wisest thing to do after stepping up the plate as the new Alphess of the Toko Forest, after all one can never know when allies will be needed. The sole idea of leaving her pack in such dangerous times made her feel uneasy though; this was certainly not the right time to be traveling around Aelyn meeting new wolves. And this leaded her mind to yet another series of thoughts … The reason why these times were tense was none other than the brute sitting in front of her, Lucid. This mere thought almost gave her goose bumps, since she knew perfectly what she was facing here. She kept her composure though, and shortly after she decided she might as well humor him with a short reply to his speech. “That’s quite generous of you. I imagine it must be tiring to be traveling all over the lands”. The last bit of her sentence came out slightly bathed in a bitter irony. Because of course, now that he had claimed the Plains every pack land shared borders with his lands.
A soft voice calling her name startled her then, snapping her out from her previous suspicions. Oh, she knew that voice, but she had to turn around to be sure that it belonged to whom she believed it did. “Seraph …”, she murmured back at him before turning to look back at Lucid. “What are you doing here?”, she asked the rusty male softly as she cast him a short glance over her shoulder. She hadn’t really expected an answer to that question, but neither had she expected what happened next. The proud male she had met not too long ago had seemingly disappeared, and instead he had been replaced by an utterly terrified wolf. But why? Well, she figured it probably was Lucid’s presence. The young femme closed her eyes briefly then, sighing softly before opening her light green orbs again. Her gaze was directed to the front; not to Lucid, not to anything in particular, just to the front. She addressed the rusty brute at her back then, “Get a hold of yourself, Seraph”, she said, trying to reassure him. In that moment her voice lost the edge that it had held while addressing Lucid, and instead her typical pleasant and soft tone seemed to have returned. Her priority as the Alphess was not to be having random discussions with a wolf that was a potential threat to her pack after all, but to make sure that her pack mates would be safe.
Thankfully, it only took Seraph a few seconds to recover from the shock, so Vanya decided to keep this distraction as short as possible and quickly turned her attention back to Lucid. Her eyes were sharp again as she looked at the black brute; the softness that her features had held having disappeared in a second as she turned her attention back to the business at hand. The Alpha of the mountains blatantly ignored the other brute’s arrival though, and he just kept on with what he had to say. For some reason this didn’t really surprise her though, as if she had expected such a reaction from Lucid. The young femme listened to what he had to say quietly, patiently waiting for him to finish. He made a subtle request then. This made Vanya hesitate a bit though; she wasn’t sure if complying to what he was asking and discussing whatever he had come to discuss alone would be the best of ideas. She couldn’t quite explain it, but she felt as though something was off with all of this, as if this brute’s pleasantries and smooth actions were nothing more than an act. It may have been intuition, or maybe it was just her mind playing tricks on her, but anyway, she decided to go with her instincts; she would not trust this wolf, she would not let herself be tricked by him if that was what she was trying to do.
However, after a few seconds of deliberation she decided that for now she would comply to what he had asked. She wanted to know to know what exactly did he want, and probably the only way to do it would be to give him the privacy he was asking for. “Very well then …”, her voice was serious and sort of detached, but it held some kind of calm too. If he was going to be calm and relaxed then so would she; though hers was obviously a mere act, seeing as her gaze on him was as hard as ever, even if her voice wasn’t. Just after having said her last words she turned to look at Seraph, who was standing at her back. “Seraph, could you please give us a minute? I would seem there are a few things we need to discuss”. Again, her eyes softened as she looked at him, as if she was trying to tell him to everything was going to be alright, that it was okay for him to go. The slender femme sat down on her rump then, mimicking Lucid’s position. Her hard gaze was on him again, as she faced him fearlessly despite of his enomous size. “What is it that you wanted to discuss then?”.

Seraph gave Vanya an apologetic look. He should have been able to exercise more control over his thoughts, especially around rivaling alphas. The wolf couldn't afford to loose it like that again, the time just now had already given a fairly bad impression. Best to not make the same mistake again.
He opened his mouth, about to speak, than realized that giving her his reason for following her right now would only further delay negotiations, and give Lucid the impression Vanya didn't have a firm grip upon her pack.
"Get a hold of yourself, Seraph" She said, the words were spoken with rather abrupt, but sincere concern and kindness, it caught him off guard, but he was careful not to let it show. He gave her a look, 'Sorry,' it said; however, he spoke different, "It wont happen again." He stated.
He ran his tongue slowly over his blackish purple lips, listening to the two alpha's converse. It was like a slow dance, not a waltz; it was like the dance a pair of fencers dance, as they slowly run their swords against each other, each circling the other. Fancy footwork in play, each examining their partner for any weaknesses, any breaking points. Mock blows exchanged, testing one another. But of course the footwork was flawless. It had to be, otherwise the winner would be clear.
Lucid had asked for him to leave. Was he stupid? Even without powers, there was a chance Lucid would be able to tear Vanya to shreds merely using his teeth. But, Vanya seemed quite confident that Lucid would honor the mutual agreement to be civil. Leaving for a few minutes couldn't hurt, and he couldn't question his Alpha's orders.
"Of course, Vanya, alphess." Seraph said this slowly, enunciating the last word. A subtle way of making sure Lucid was completely sure of her title. He turned to leave, pressed his cheek to hers, "I'll be within earshot, just howl if you need me." Seraph said this softly so that Lucid would not hear. The wolf gave light, reassuring lick on the ear before padding off, back through the underbrush.
16. 17. 18...37. 38. 39. 40. Seraph counted each step. Forty of them. Far away enough to let them not be over heard, close enough to hear if they raised their voice to a shout, probably a sign he would be needed. He stretched his wings before sitting down with his back to a tree. The rusty wolf wondered what was with his strange day dreams. They were different from any he had ever had. The female voice, definitely Talia's, but not hers. The male voice... It was strangely familiar, but he couldn't quite place his tongue on it.

Lucid flicked his tails idly as he waited for the Alphess to answer. When she agreed to discuss things privately, he gave a nod in what could be imagined as a thank you, though those who actually knew Lucid would know it was just his way of showing he was glad to have his request taken seriously.
He thought in his mind, very rapidly, how and what he would say to Vanya before him in order to make it seem as if he was providing a solution to things that would be far better than what currently was going on with the packs. He turned his attention to the brute when he moved toward the Alphess, his ears pricking forward as he spoke, and he flicked his tails as the brute moved to leave. Once Lucid was satisfied that the brute was far enough away to not overhear their conversation, Lucid turned his attention back to the female before him.
He pondered for a moment, before lowering his form to lay on the ground, making it easier for her to see eye to eye with him. He figured it would be a respectful thing to do, since he knew that looking up for extended periods of time could really put strain on the neck. It wasn't disrespectful in the least, merely something to add to his demeanor to show he meant no hostilities and that he merely wished to chat, Alpha to Alphess.
"I assume your pack member will not attempt to listen in? No disrespect intended." He flicked his tails, his glowing golden eyes peering into hers as he waited for her response. "How are things within your pack? I hope prey is running well for you." To most, this would seem like idle conversation, but to those who had lived around Lucid, they would know he was putting his non-existent feelers out, searching for any weaknesses and getting what valuable intel he could on the pack. Especially if he were to offer to have them join his ranks. However, he had a feeling that this Alphess would be less than open to joining under his dominant rule. She would keep her lands and run them, the only difference would be that they would be ruled under Lucid as well. He flicked his tails idly, something that even after his undeath he kept as a common habit of his. He looked at her closely, watching her movements and searching for any points that would sway his plans into his favor. He would have all the lands of Aelyn under his rule, that was what his final and ultimate goal was, but the only thing was, would it be through bloodshed or would it be through joining his forces and his ranks? Would this Alphess risk some of her pack members dying in a fight against him, or would she join him willingly to save the wolves that she holds under her own ranks? He thought of these things as he waited for her to respond to him and give way to her own weaknesses.[/blockquote]

A low hum echoed in her slim, elegant throat as she moved forward in a halting stalk. Her ears were laid back as she inched forward, not noticing the sway of the branch. Or maybe she just wasn't paying attention to it. Her light weight barely registered to the thick trees that made up the forest. She stilled again, muscles quivering with daring excitement as the limb wobbled briefly. She didn't stop though, moving closer and closer to the dangerous edge. She stopped again, blue eyes peering to the ground below, bright with energy and feverish interest. It was far below her, and she hummed again, her muzzle curling in a smile of expectancy. Her nostrils flared, scenting the breeze from high up, the crisp scent filled with life and flowers and the slight hint of winter just leaving. She breathed out lightly, her slim sides lowering just a bit. She stilled one last time, then her tail flipped up and she dropped, letting her body twist in the air, the feathers on her body flattening out instinctively to slow her just a little. She stretched her paws watching the ground rise before sighing, allowing herself to reach for her wings, feeling them run out of her body in a smooth glide of magic. The lifted, fanned, and jerked her into a stop, the large muscles that attached it to her body protested sharply but she ignored them.
She pointed her nose skyward and darted upward, reaching high until her lungs burned and her wings protested before folding them and dropping again, letting the wind caress her pelt. It was an odd fetish, this free falling. A constant rise and fall, flipping and diving, gaining speed before stopping. Her time could have been spent on more important things, but she'd done all her duties earlier that morning. Or those that needed to be completed before the afternoon patrol took her time or some wolf came to find her. At this moment, for all extents and purposes, she was free for a few hours. A rumble spread through her throat, notes sliding out idly as she looped, falling, lifting, circling. She was relaxing as she enjoyed to. And while she would have loved to have someone at her side, wings brushing, a playful flight, she was happy with this sedate one. It had been impossible to take time like this as an alpha when the pack was in such upheaval. And she maybe was enjoying her time too much, slacking off, but she deserved a few lazy moments didn't she?
She sighed, a warm gust of air carrying her up as she spread her feathers wide. She peered down, looking over the trees that made up Toko Forest. It was lovely really, the bright greens, the dark ones, all gathered together with springs neons and pastels from flowers. The skinny arms of trees were no longer bare, but covered with fresh suits of leaves. She smiled, breathing deep, the scent of pollen and growth assaulting her nose. A tinge caught her attention briefly, but by the next breath the wind had carried it away. Imagining things again Minou? For shame. This was thought to herself, ruefully so as she smiled lightly. Her tail twitched and she banked left, heading toward camp again to clean out her den, or see if any wolves needed her or if Vanya did. The alphess had taken weight off Minou's shoulders, and she was slowly settling, calming. Her personality defects were easing off, allowing her to be herself. And for that, Minou was more grateful than the other femme knew.
Her ears angled back against the wind as her wings pulled forward, and then pushed down before stilling stretched to float. The muscles burned a little, but it was a good burn. Exercise had always made Minou feel happy. Her pale blue coat rippled like water, colors sparking along it like a river. The dark grey-blue tips of her wings blurred and made a line as they dipped every few seconds. Just a second later, she was shifting her wings, sending herself shooting toward the border. The wind had finally brought her a scent that unsettled her, and as her mind reached forward it had met with Vanya's, and then a barrier of blankness. It was like a hole in her 'blanket' that made her know she would never be able to read that spot. From her alphess' mind though, she knew who it was. Why hadn't she known before? Or Vanya called for her? Had something happened? Thoughts scurried through her mind, not crazy, but...swift. Her lips pulled down as she nearly dashed to the place where this beast was, with her alphess.
Lucid.
How dare he show his face here. After he treated the loners that way, his effect on other wolves. She'd heard rumors, and she didn't trust him one little bit. She still worried why she hadn't been called even as she neared the area. She didn't circle them, for she wouldn't cross the line into the half that the blank spot gave to Lucid. She fluttered, wings cupping back as she descended, elegantly tiny paws touching the ground at a lope even as those wings pulled in the minute she'd felt dirt. It was done in a split second, the land and absorption. Two faint, spotted lines trailed her sides labeling where her wings appeared. She didn't pant and her long chest heaved a little. The sharp curve of her mid section tugged as she moved forward. She caught site of Vanya, positioned serenely, and slowed a bit. She walked lightly, her tail flicking and ears angled up. Her head was high, a gentle, regal position she adopted naturally. Not looking down her nose...just relaxed. Her slightly sloped, borzoi face smoothed as she stepped forward, watching Seraph leave, knowing Vanya had sent him away.
Minou stepped onto to the edge, behind Vanya, but in sight of Lucid. She was only two yards away, but a respectful distance. Lucid spoke, and she remained silent, waiting quietly, for Vanya to acknowledge her or not. But she did show a bit of her unease by slipping lightly into the alphess' mind. Do you need me? she murmured mentally, just a brush of thought. Her face didn't change and she only watched Lucid with light, neutral eyes. He was as huge as they said, though she did know one who was his size as well...She turned her brain away and waited for a response. Her question could be taken that way, but her words were toned with 'Do you want me?' instead. She would leave if Vanya wanted her to, not that she'd be too far away.
ooc - done finally. sorry for the wait. hope it's okay.

The day had been going so badly, first Aly arrived in a completely new area, then she spent the entire night following the strongest scent she could only to arrive in a packs land and not be met by a SINGLE wolf and now she spent the whole morning following this scent again, only to enter another pack's lands and be smothered in new smells, this was so not her day. She stopped as she neared a mass of smells and huffed quietly, she was in no good mood but she just had to make a good impression on this male if she wanted to join his pack. She stamped her paw down softly, making a barely audible thump then trotted forward slightly. This way no one would think she was sneaking around, she was here and wanted people to know it.
As Aly stepped forward and saw two wolves standing by each other far off in the distance, chatting it seemed, Aly stopped. She kept her distance from the pair and was just out of ear shot. She could hear the murdering of voices but not what they were saying, her ears twitched, she wanted to know. She lifted her paw slowly and moved a step closer, still nothing, once more, nothing. Aly sat her rump down and closed her eyes, trying to hear everything she could, but no, she still could not make out the words. A small sigh, she'd have to wait for an invitation to move forward...or did she...
Aly shut her eyes and lowered her head, pulling her ears tight to her skull she ran a thought through her mind Let me closer, let me closer, let me closer She pointed these thoughts towards the brute, hoping he'd pick up on her thought pattern and follow suit. She looked up to see what kind of reaction he showed to this. Aly was using her power to it's full effect, hoping, praying he wouldn't pick it up as her thoughts being sent to him and that he'd just let her come forward. If he did however see through this, well she would play another game entirely...

"My monsters are far worse than yours" Ruh
”You come around When you finally face this” ”You come around When you find me faceless” xxxxx A small section of the forest seemed secluded. Silence was the only sound as the trees cried out but this quite solitude was cut by a single, sharp sound. A tinkling bell. The grass rustled, but by the time the creatures of the forest could look to where the leaves had flown up, the beast that had made them was gone. Another rustle, more leaves, still nothing. And then a high pitched squeal came from a rabbit as it was caught between jaws without warning. Why hadn't it seen this beast coming, didn't it have near 360 degree vision? Perhaps it was because no one had seen this brute coming. The beast spit out the rabbit, and it lay there for a moment, trying to calm itself down.
Lips curled over sharp teeth that it had just been in with a short bark of laughter. "Myself 'aven' 'illed ya yet, ge'z yurself gonez." Ruh mumbled, turning around and leaving the rabbit to pick itself up and scamper away to its family. He was headed toward camp at a leisurely trot, the bell in his ear jingling with each movement. And it was around that time that he caught the murmurs of the lands around him and he knew someone was here. He ran as fast as he could and within seconds he approached the edge of what looked like a forming circle. His eyes looked over the new wolf that he had not seen, waiting on the edge. He could see Vanya and with her was Lucid and it sent a small, quivering growl through his body. This bastard had chased him out of his home. Not that he didn't have something to thank him for. If Ruh hadn't had to leave and join a pack, he might have never met Minou or had a home. Speaking of which, his eyes slid over to behind Vanya, as he was on her left, and there was the lovely Minou. His ear flicked, jingling the bell, as he noticed that something seemed different about her to Ruh, though he couldn't put his finger on it. They hadn't really talked since she accepted him in the pack. And the new Alphess, Vanya. To Ruh she wasn't any newer than he was to the pack, but to all other vargs who had joined this pack before him, she was new. He didn't quite know her that well either, but she was the Alpha and if the thought of attacking her even brushed Lucid's mind, Ruh was prepared to defend his Alpha.

It seems this day was getting more interesting by the moment, the other male turned down his offer to a new den so Hexxus figured he would go back to his other duty's of patrolling the lands. He wasn't aware of Lucids presences until he smelled the ting on the air of lucids presence, he would recognize it anywhere.
He growled deep before making his way to the source of the smell then other smells from other members came into the picture there were other Took forest members here and he knew it. He walked threw the brush slowly but cautiously till he came to a clearing at the edge of the lands. He growled low that sounded more like a slight rumble within his chest as he said silently "What in the hell is he doing here?" When he saw the alphess speaking to the massive male known as Lucid. Hexxus didn't even finch however this male may have been massive, but he wasn't scared of him and he didn't show any of it. He stayed hidden just as a precaution in-case of a sudden attack from the larger male. As a second precaution he began charging his powers to create his ultimate defense armor for extra protection.
Large sheets of steel about half an inch thick began rising from the ground around him, before they started molding around his body. He had to hold his jaws open as metal molded around his maw. and around his face. When it was finished being shaped his body looked like that of a knight or a massive armadillo, he was covered from head to tail in a mass of protected armor every inch of skin was covered. inside his mouth his teeth, and jaws acquired this metal making his mouth shimmer with metal if he was to yawn, growl, or bark. with this metal within his mouth it made them twice as deadly if he was to land a bite on an opponent. and his paws and claws also got sharper also adding to the brute force his male was capable of. The thing he was sacrificing however with this armor was his speed and agility, but his defense for head on attacks, and physical blows rose incredibly. However with this protective metal armor came other weaknesses, to electricity, ice, and extremely intense flames if exposed for long periods of time.

OOC - Post is done, I just need to figure out new colors for my template before posting but I'm way too tired for that now, I need to sleep. I'll be editing this in the morning in order to put the post up. And sorry for the wait, I've just had too many things going on in my life, and if you add a huge writer's block to that it can be debastating. In any case, expect a post from me tomorrow.

Vanya frowned at the slight remark on Lucid’s part concerning Seraph attempting to listen in their conversation. Even if he had pointed out that no disrespect was intended, she couldn’t help but get the feeling that he was just underestimating her capabilities as a leader and the respect her fellow pack members had for her commands, and hence for her. Who knows; maybe he didn’t see her as an equal at all in the first place. This thought irked her, which was no good in the current situation, so she shook her head slightly, trying to drop those ideas for now. After all she was probably just overanalyzing things as she used to do all the time. “He won’t”, she replied dryly then. A short statement, but the tone she used made it clear that there was no room for arguments on the matter here.
Apparently Lucid didn’t intend on staying too long on the previous subject either, because he proceeded to ask yet another question not too long after. Vanya was actually tempted to just raise an eyebrow in disbelief at his inquiry, but she refrained. Hadn’t he said he had something to discuss with her? She had actually expected for it to be something important, seeing as he had even asked her to drive away her pack members so they could talk. This of course led to the one question that was forming in her head now: what was this about? Why was he just asking her about her pack dynamics as if he was an old friend who had come to visit?
The idea of having such a casual conversation with this brute didn’t particularly thrill her, seeing as she didn’t like him; not one bit. There just seemed to be something about him that was impossible for her to ignore, and even though she couldn’t quite tell what it was, it certainly made her uneasy. Not to mention that this was the wolf that had claimed the plains not long ago and that had forced so many loners away from their homeland. Something deep inside of her just told her that this brute was up to no good, and she had learned to always trust her intuition through life; for it rarely failed her. This of course meant that she didn’t really want to interact with him more than needed; after all the faster he was out of her lands the better.
Despite having her imagination running free at each assumption she made, she decided that giving Lucid the answer he was seeking would be the most efficient way of getting done with this. “We’ve been faring quite well thank you. Though it should be even more so now that spring is finally here” Her tone was dry and monotone as it had been since she first met the Alpha of the Misuteriasu Mountain’s pack, though she was starting to take on the pleasant tone the brute had been using previously for this matter. She knew that she had to keep a good appearance after all, and she was starting to sound a bit too hostile, even to herself. Of course this was no good considering the current situation, so with this though in mind she decided to keep going with the “friendly” talk with Lucid a bit longer. Maybe she could even manage to pick up some valuable information. “I trust things are running smoothly on your side as well?”. She asked in a more pleasant tone, though it still was quite neutral. The young femme had never been good at not showing her emotions, so keeping this apparently cold and calm façade surely was a feat for her.
She waited for an answer on his part calmly … Or so it seemed. In fact, despite the cool façade she was successfully keeping for now, every gear inside her mind was running at full speed. Yes, her mind was indeed something amazing and quite peculiar; so complex not many would have been able to understand how it really works. One thing was clear though, it was an efficient and fast-running machine, and in that very moment it was making proof of it. Just in the short time she waited for the brute in front of her to speak, which probably was no longer than a few seconds, her mind was already drawing out a huge array of possible scenarios, solutions, and possibilities. Things were running at such speed inside of her head that one could have actually thought that it was the outside world that was moving in slow motion.
Of course that amongst all the thoughts that were currently running wild in her mind, she was also considering how to push Lucid to go straight to the point, because she knew he hadn’t just come here to chat. But then, when another wave of ideas was surging back into her mind, a soft murmur startled her out of her thoughts, almost making her jump in surprise as her audits turned back. Thankfully the young femme was able to recognize the voice in her head almost immediately. ‘Minou …’. She let a small, relieved sigh at the realization. She had been so lost in her thoughts and in the current situation with Lucid that she hadn’t even noticed the Betess approach. Not that hearing someone else’s voice in one’s head wouldn’t freak anyone out, but knowing this was Minou that wasn’t an issue for her. Even though they had never openly discussed their powers, she was quite aware that the elder female possessed the power of Telepathy; courtesy of some of her pack members. At least that discarded the possibility of her having hallucinations now.
Vanya didn’t miss the other female’s inquiry, which practically was an offering of help and support. Relief washed through her body. If she had asked any of pack mates to come with her it most likely would have been Minou. She just held so much respect for the older female, and even though she outranked her now, it just didn’t seem like it to her. After all she still had many things to learn in her inexperience. She turned her head slightly to look at the slender femme at her back, just to let her know she knew she was there. And then came her answer. ‘Please do stay’. Not quite a direct reply to what was asked, but a reply nonetheless. Even though it was intended to be a casual request it came out almost like a plea; because even though she looked quite serene on the outside, she was still in turmoil on the inside. Hopefully, if Minou had been able to communicate with her through her mind in the first place, then she would also be able to get the reply the same way. But just in case, she made sure for her gaze to meet her eyes in order to let her know that she could stay. It was only right and fair.
And of course the young Alphess did plan on letting Lucid know of her decision, whether he liked it or not. Her light green orbs turned back to the huge brute in front of her then. As much as she mistrusted the male, and as much as she wanted him gone, he hadn’t shown any sign of aggression or even the slightest trace of hostility so far, and for her to do it first could be a terrible mistake. Keeping this in mind she decided that the best thing to do for now was to just follow the protocol and proceed to a casual introduction as it was proper. “Lucid”, she started firmly, “This is my Betess, Minou”. She said the last part while turning her head slightly in the other female’s direction, her bright eyes never leaving the dark figure in front of her. “Minou, this is Lucid, Alpha of the Misuteriasu Mountain’s pack”. Though she was sure there was no need for an explanation, for Minou had probably figured it out already as well. But yes, it was only protocol. Her attention was back on the male shortly after. Determination was clearly reflected in her eyes, and if she had been able to, she most likely would have blasted it his way through them. “Minou is staying”, a statement, not a question. “She is my second in command. If there anything important enough that required you to come meet me personally in order to discuss it, I’m sure it should be alright for her to join us”. She had the feeling he wouldn’t be happy about this, seeing as he had already asked for privacy before. But alas, this was her jurisdiction, her lands; and even if they were equal in ranks, the one that had the authority here was her, not him.
And then a rustling in the underbrush nearby caught her attention briefly, and a soft jingling carried by the wind. They weren’t alone. Apparently Lucid hadn’t only drawn her here with his call. Her pack was lurking, she just knew it. Even if she couldn’t see them as of now, she knew they were there, she could almost feel their comforting presence all over the place. This knowledge alone triggered a small smile on her part, just a bit toned down by her professional façade. This let clear the unity and loyalty within her pack. When a threat was located they all came without her having to ask them. It certainly was comforting.
OOC Well ... I'm sorry for the huge delay. As I said it was due to both life being a bitch and an annoying writer's block. And just when I had planned on posting I had a major family loss, so yeah, my mind as well as myself has been elsewhere. But anyways, here's the post. It kind of fails because I had to rewrite a good part of it and in my current mood I fail at everything.

Lucid remained calm and still as he waited for the Alphess to reply. He had laid down in front of her so she and him could be eye level, a courtesy for him to show on his part, considering looking up into his figure was often a strain on one's neck and body. He only naturally thought it was best to show her a kindness in this aspect, especially if he were to achieve his goals. It was in no disrespect, but quite the opposite. More often than not, he would only do this for Mira, and no other wolf, however, since this female had submitted to his request and since she was Alphess of these lands, he figured exceptions could be made. Her comfort made his mission easier.
Lucid nodded to her response. "Prey has always run well within the forests, and I'm glad your pack is faring so well in this change of season. As for my packlands, all is well. Thank you for asking." Though it didn't show in his posture or his face, this kindness that he was showing was more than difficult for him... though it was only shown because of his ultimate goal... he needed to figure out the strength of the other packs and make deals with them in order to have them under his strong rule. He scented her approach, as well as the other wolves around them, long before she had shown herself. He flicked his tails calmly behind him when she stood next to her Alphess. He knew who she was before the introduction had been done. Though he had wished for complete privacy with the Alphess, he knew that the betess of these lands would stay, whether or not he liked it. So, in order to keep up his growing facade, he nodded kindly to the new female in respect. "My dear Vanya, I wouldn't dream of ordering or requesting your betess to be dismissed. That is not my place, and though you stated her staying as a statement, you needn't have done so. I would have welcomed her presence with open paws. After all, communication between rank is key in running a great pack, which you are very obviously good at doing yourself. You do have a fine pack." He nodded to her in respect and acknowledgement, showing he, too, could tell there were other wolves about. "Its a pleasure to have you with us, Betess Minou." He gave her another respectful nod. Lucid allowed his mind to be open to each of the pack wolves surrounding them one by one, though only one at a time. One mind in particular caught his attention, requesting to move closer. He could also hear that it was directed toward him, which intrigued him all the more so, though his features and face remained as expressionless about his discovery as ever. Flicking his tail ever so calmly, he returned a response to this female voice that had caught his attention. As much as I would love for you to approach, and perhaps join my pack, if that is your wish, it would be best if you remained where you are at until the little conversation held here is over. He waited a moment longer with his mind linked to hers before closing off the connection entirely. This exchange took hardly any time at all as he returned his full attention to the two leaders before him. It would have seemed as if nothing had changed and that his attention had been on them fully the entire time. He thought for a brief moment, his body remaining calm and relaxed as he turned his full attention to Vanya, though still acknowledging that Minou was still present. "Have you met any of the other Alphas of Aelyn? Considering there has not been a meeting of the Alphas in quite some time, I thought it necessary to know each of the leaders and to make their acquaintance in order to create a sense of unity between the different packs of Aelyn. We're all so separated, so distant... surely this can't be a good thing? I know that if anything were to ever happen, Mayonaka forbid, and there was some sort of event that would cause us to have to rely on other packs, it would be best to know the other Alphas of each land and at least remain on common grounds, wouldn't you agree?" He calmly looked at her, his golden glowing orbs facing directly toward her, though in most cases it was difficult to tell, considering he had no pupils or iris. He waited patiently, keeping tabs on how many wolves were around them and the positions of them, in case one should decide to interrupt their calm meeting. Lucid didn't want to be caught by surprise, though in this situation, it would be near impossible to do so.[/blockquote]

She stayed put, but her muscles were ready to move forward at the slightest implication of her alphess feeling threatened. She could feel the bumps that signified minds gathering around them, filling the trees. She felt her lips quirk up at the loyalty of the pack. Strong, ready, but respectful enough to stand back. Her ears angled up, again surveying the black, winged brute that sat on the outside of their ring of warriors. Again, she was amazed with how big he was, especially compared to her. Minou was tall, higher than nearly half the wolves in the pack, almost all the females. But she was thin, sleek and lean. Lucid was a hulking beast, many feet taller and epically more muscle mass. But she could take him, she was very sure. If there was a fight, mind to mind without tricks she would come out on top. But this brute was not one to play fair, she knew. His mind, just the briefest of touches, left a foul sensation in her mental weave and had her wanting to jerk back. But she didn't. Instead she eased away, knowing he had probably felt the testing wash. No thrusting probe, nor a test of strength. It wasn't even a warning. It was curiosity, she knew a second later, not wasting time feeling shocked at herself. Polite and serene she might be, but she was also curious about things different and she knew that about herself.
Her tail twitch, the feathers along her spine and forehead rising in a rare show of anxiousness before forcing them to flatten again. Her paws remained stable and she had just started to worry as she listened to the conversation, when she sensed her name on Vanya's mind. She sighed out a breath, letting her mind leap forward and surround the alphess', catching the rest of the thought to stay. She let her paws shift a little, ready to settled where she stood as her mind ran through what she'd heard of the conversation just seconds ago. Ina ll reality Lucid sounded perfectly sincere, if dangerously intent on getting Vanya alone, something Minou would not deal with. He spoke of hoping their land was good, and as the bettess' mind fit pieces together and broke them apart, she came quickly to the fact it was a threat of sorts. It may be good, but Lucid could change that and he was willing to do so. Ready to do so. Her alphess was acting polite, not trying to draw the wolven's ardor and Minou respected her for that. she could feel the rising tension in many of the wolves surrounding the area, and it made the situation worse. This was touchy, a meeting of alphas, a threat from one and a steady shift around from the other. The blue femme had a feeling this may be the last peaceful day for their pack. She had no illusion that this was just a friendly visit or that Lucid did not indeed have wolves hidden just out of scent range.
She sighed lightly, before catching Vanya shift her body around to face her. Minou raised her eyebrows. She read from the mind of the female what she would be doing before she started talking, and as Vanya turned back, Minou stepped from the trees that had coated her sides with an elegant grace that held no fear or worry. Her head swiveled, eyes seraphic as she gazed a Lucid. Her steps were liquid as she moved without hurry or drag to her Alphess' side. She did not sit, but waited to be introduced. Her stance had no aggression - fore rarely did Minou display aggression - but her eyes did not warm, but remained coolly polite. Ice princess in her dignity. Not that she tried, but now she used it liberally. As Vanya said her name Minou nodded elegantly, lowering her head just enough to be polite, her ears angled back slightly. The fae at her side completed herself, mentioning who the male was, Minou spoke, her voice ever shifting. "I know very well who he is, but I thank you, Alphess, for the introduction." Her tail twitched and she cocked her head, bird like in the motion though intelligence was plain in her eyes.
Lucid spoke again and the blue could not help but feel oil coat her pelt. Her shoulder blades tickled, and she wondered if Lucid understood he was too far gone to even fake caring. She doubted it. He was an egotistical maniac. She let him talk pleasantries, keeping her attention there in body, and running her mind through who was there. She touched with Aly, appreciating her staying close, she also hit Ruh's and held in a smile. Hexxus was there as well, always ready to take action before thinking. She frowned slightly, ready to send him a thought to calm down but as she pulled away from the others she caught that same trickle of unease and caught the dying edge of the conversation. Her eyes narrowed and her feathers twitches up a bit, rising. But the male continued talking, of things Minou cared not about, and she waited till his voice faded before stepping forward a few steps, ears up and body firmly planted. "Before we go any further, brute, I would very much like to ask you not," she murmured, adding no real affliction to her voice, "to speak to our pack members in such a way. We have agreed to talk to you. Not to have you threaten them." She let her gaze lock with his for a brief second, before calling behind her. " Pack, control yourselves. Sit and draw no further attention to yourselves. You cause more tension that I know you mean."
She snorted slightly, flicking her head feathers at Lucid in a gesture that was not so nice, but nor was it characteristically rude. Not that he'd know the ways of feathers wolves. Her slim paws slid her backwards and she settled to Vanya's side. She looked at her alphess then, eyes bright as she erected a wall of weave around the pack, protecting their thoughts and minds. A hard thing really, to do. But Minou was strong in mind as she was not in body and she kept this up. She turned away from Vanya before informing her of the new things. He feels wrong, my alphess, though I'm sure you know that. Sorry for my stepping up, but he was speaking to Aly. Threatening her. I have no love for that behavior. I have taken steps to shield the minds. He cannot hear us. No matter what the collar of his does, it only counts if it is direct to him, but this is not. Or so I'm told. He may hear, yet I care not. He should know well enough I dislike him. She shrugged mentally, lifting her brows at Lucid in a questioning way that was both demanding, strong, and gentle and subtle. She cared not what he heard from her, but she cared for her pack and while Vanya could not hear, she could. And she would be listening now.
ooc - It's kinda crap, but oh well. word count - 1206
