pade It wasn't the squish of the ground that repulsed the wolf as he made his way through the marshes, desperate for a place to call his own. No, it was the paw he saw as he looked down at the ground. The paw of his neglecting father. It made him sick to think of the alpha who refused to recognize his own son, just because of a case of infidelity. Yes, the bastard should own up to it, especially when the only survivng proof of the conception had been abandoned by its mother. It just wasn't right for Spade to have had to suffer because his parents both refused to acknowledge him. It was sick for them to refuse his existance and upon doing so, forcing the jealous alphess to raise him- lest the alphas lose the respect of the pack by letting a pup die when it could be avoided. His life rested in the hands of the politics that made up a pack.
But he was getting a new start. Yes, he had already gotten one before, his former mate, Ku and his wonderful daughter Miraj, but those were happier thoughts left for the dreary days when he needed an emotional helping hand. This was here, this was now. He had no clue how close to the solid ground - where he presumed the dens were - he should get. Too close could make an alpha angry, and too far could make them irritated for making them go so far out to greet a single wolf. It was a balancing game to see just how close to too far and too close you could get. He hadn't played it so well with the last pack; accidentally getting too close to the pack and to a wandering pup. He'd gotten away with a scratch to the flank. Nothing that wouldn't heal, but he had been lucky. The next alpha could be brutal and maybe even kill him without a second thought if he lost this balancing act. But what could he do?

The splash of water rebounded through the high grass and mossy rocks and trunks. Movement again was interrupting it's restful silence. But the land was used to this. It was familiar. Just something it now expected, and particularly from this brute. It seemed the grounds embraced this creature and set forth most of its good resources and showy appearances. Even now, with winter freezing the surfaces and making the place chill, it was beautiful in the eyes of the brute. Not that it could be anything but. This was his land after all, one that had been won and that was loved infinitely. Nearly as much as the male loved his mate. And that was saying a lot. But the truth was, if Zephora wanted to leave, Kerrigan would leave this land as well. Luckily, she understood is bond with these soggy, sometimes harsh marshes and she loved the rich, early smell of it almost as much as he did. And he loved her so very, very much for it. His bright eyes blinked, scanning the horizon line. The mist that rose over the icy waters was less that it would be come summer time, but still high enough to shroud the clear view. Not that the trees helped any, but still. From here, the large rooted trees ended their little section, and the plains as he liked to call them stretched until the border.
Seeing nothing, he hoped off his perch - which happened to be a large root - and onto thick ice. His legs slid a bit, but lime claws dug in and held on. His nose crinkled in distaste, liking his mushy, watery marsh than this frozen tundra, but he knew it was only in some places. And his paw proved him right by landing in a freezing mud with a squelch. His eyes turned sheepish and he moved on, tail flicking behind him as he agilely transversed this familiar territory. His patrol had been going on all morning and now that it was later, the sun not even reaching its highest, it was soon to be time to hunt up some more grub for him and for his mate and pups. A self satisfied smile could not be stopped from sliding across his mug. Yeah, a pregnant mate. He still couldn't get over that fact and it traveled through his mind quite frequently. Not that it could be helped. But then, sometimes he needed to think about other things. Like that odd shape over near the tree line, but yeah, could totally not be real. He settled his gaze more firmly on the figure and his eyes focused.
Yup, there actually was a wolf making its way through the territory.
He lifted both eyebrows, head lifted high in curiosity and in possessiveness of this area. What wolf traveled so freely through the lands? The flash of red caught his eyes, reminding him of Lydia, but he new that was not it. This wolf had too much of the bloody color. Pun not intended. That one loner-wolf he had met with Chevara? What seemed like ages ago now. No, that one had been fae with black wings. From what the male could tell, this was no femme. The brute wasted no more time, starting back into motion, following the trees toward the border and the intruder. His stance was confident, and it was no lie who he was. He hid nothing, no sound. He let his paws splash, and his legs brush through tall grass with a swish of motion. His head remained high, but not awkwardly so. And his tail flagged behind him, not yet curled over his long spine.
Lime markings twitched excitedly across his black pelt, and he slowed close enough, turning slightly at an angle, flicking his ears forward. He was a massive brute, but he didn't really think about it. He scanned the male, finding him...interesting, before opening his mug and letting a greeting out. "Gree'in's, loner. Yew be on pack-lan's. Nigori Marshlander, ta be specific. I be Kerrigan, alpha 'ere, an' I'm no' sorry ta poin' ou' ta yew, tha' in'rudin' be wha' yer doin'," he spoke, his Scottish brogue thick. And he felt in a good mood, a small smile curving his muzzle. T he words were friendly enough for a stranger-to-stranger meeting. He tilted his head, not asking any questions, wondering if the male would tell him what he wished for. Not that he expected anything less.
ooc - random muse. hope is okay. kerrigan's being a weirdo. and by the way, i love your wolf :3

pade He could hear another wolf faster than he could see them. This other varg must clearly have had no qualms with making themselves known. Not that this did anything to Spade, merely forewarning him that someone was approaching. Maybe it was another loner, someone to be accepted with- a potential friend. Or maybe it was the alpha or alphess. It wasn't uncommon for the ranks of the pack to patrol, and quite possibly, he classified as something one would investigate upon finding during said patrol. But, ah, he was rambling.
His thoughts were finalized - alpha - as the brute became visible. The lime green markings were just a tad bit blinding. But no, even the bright markings did not compare to his size. The sheer height of the brute far outweighed the flash of his pelt. Now when he thinks this, he does not mean it in a horrendous way, but more in a way of sizing up someone- a comparison. But this brute was a pure monster. It was not in Spade's knowledge that wolves this big existed. But now he knew, but the shock still struck his system.
He was still for a second, looking over the large brute with calculating, mismatched eyes as said varg spoke. His mind worked to keep up with the accent the large male had, and it didn't quite surprise Spade that this wolf, Kerrigan, was the alpha. It was only fitting. He seemed to be a pleasant wolf unless angered and his sheer size and the bulk of his frame made him a fit candidate for the alpha position. It was a brief thought, but had any wolf been foolish enough to challenge this male.
Straightening his posture, Spade stood to his full height - nothing compared to this canine - out of respect. His ears folded back just the slightest and his dipped his head briefly. "My apologies. Every place I go is different, and the last few alphas have become angered at me for making them come too far out just to greet me. I am Spade,"

A tilted head took in the male. Of a good height, with strong lines and a good muscle mass. Slick fur, the color of sticky blood slipping out from a wound, and a good feel about him. Well 'good' was not the best term. The feel of the male was one Kerrigan was okay with having in his pack. He did not seem like a happy-happy-joy-joy, but the right level of past regret, present determination, and future stability. To far into it, sure, but then, this alpha really liked taking the wolves that asked to enter his land, and trying to see where they would end up. And he loved when they exceeded his vision, and when they made their own. But this was not the point here. The newcomers eyes were separate colors, giving him an intriguing appearance. Wouldn't be long before some female took a fancy to the brute. And man, his pack did have a lot of them. The ratio was about even now. He had worried for a while, that he needed to change his 'anyone can get in' but a few females turned away, and a influx of males and the pack was on track again.
He straightened his skull, twitching his lime nose even as he took in the markings over the males eyes. And Kerrigan made up his mind before the male said a word. He'd be accepted, and the black male already set that in his mind. He didn't need the other to speak, to ask for a home. If it turned out, just a day or two was needed from the pack, just to give the loner a moment of rest, then that would be fine. But Kerrigan found nothing odd about this wolf, and so would have no problem with saying yes to his request. Kerrigan liked to go with his gut. The organ had become rather reliable over the years and he did not want to second guess one of the best devices for finding good wolves for Nigori. And why not? Listening and worry and weighing options came in handy, but it took a while and would probably come up with the same conclusion. Asset to pack, non-asset to pack. It was that simple. And more strong wolves would make them that much more powerful. And they needed all they could get where Lucid was concerned.
He flicked his ears forward as the male seemed to finish his own quick study and settle into a firm, strong stance. Kerrigan nodded slightly in approval. No cowering male, but one that was proud in his bearing. Not arrogant about it, or challenging, Kerrigan noted, eyes scanning the lowered ears. He payed attention as the male spoke, not really understanding the concept, but then sorta he did. Kerrigan just found it more respectable to meet at the borders instead of a loose canon running around. But he supposed other alphas were lazier than he. Or wanting to stay near pregnant mates, come to think of it. Kerrigan tossed a glance over his shoulder briefly, toward camp and Zephora, before responding the male. "Well, I hae me own rules, bu' 'tis fine. No 'arm done. Pleas're 'hen Spade. O'her alphas yew say? 'Ried ta fin' a pack more'n once?" Kerrigan inquired, voice curious. Multiple alphas and yet no pack? Maybe he'd made his decision too soon.

Z e p h o r a "Mm'..." came the gentle sound of the young damsel as she stirred from her afternoon nap in the sunlight, eventually lifting her head as she gave it a shake. Tired. She'd been feeling plenty of it as of late, but then of course, it was hard to do what she usually did with the new weight held within her belly. Yet, she kept herself looking pretty fine and was never one to be lazy nonetheless, continuing to help out with the pack when it came to patrols, hunting, and other things. She was a hard worker, a strong yet compassionate alphess, a fine lover and a caring mother to the whelps that were yet to be born. She was the alphess of Nigori Marshlands and the beloved mate of Kerrigan. She was Zephora.
The young drappa rested where she was for a while, letting her saffron stare look about her surroundings as she took in a gentle breath of the cool and delicious air of Nigori. Closing her eyes, she listened, soft smile found upon her lips as she then felt the shifting of her offspring within her womb as they seemed to wake from their nap as well. "Come along, my little ones. We must find your father. "
cooed her soft voice as she spoke to her unborn pups. It would be an odd sight to see to some outsider who was staring in at her, but it was a bond and thing that could only be understood by a mother and her children. Even though they weren't born quite yet, Zephora still did her best to teach them what she knew with each and every day that passed. Whether they'd remember the things she told them when they were within her womb, would be seen when they finally arrived. Eventually hoisting herself back to her limbs, she gave her thick and smooth pelt a shake, leting her chest dip down for a moment as the tendrils of her coat lashed about like a mass of white snow. Her jaw gaped for a moment as she drew in a deep breath yawning, and then she was off. Content with how she felt, and revitalized from her nap, she then took off through Nigori at a grand gallop. She wasn't exactly the smallest of vixens, being only a little smaller than her beloved Kerrigan, but even so she was rather graceful and awe-inspiring when she was in motion. Muscles rolled and bunched beneath her pelt that rippled with each bound as she ran, and those eyes of hers scanned the horizon for anything out of the ordinary. She knew where she was going, for the mating bond of she and Kerrigan allowed them to find each other anywhere as well as helped them keep track of their pack. The grass tickled against her chest and belly as she drifted through its mass, slowing her pace to a trot then as she set eyes upon the very being she'd sought to find. Kerrigan. Magnificent looking as always, she couldn't help but find her heart skipping a few beats as she paced her way towards him. He wasn't alone, for she'd seen a blood red wolf with him, but even so she didn't mind and continued her way towards the two's meeting. "Kerry'.." cooed the soft sound of her voice as she came up from just behind her beloved, letting her shoulder brush his side before she swept his cheek with a small lick. Her ears splayed as she gazed at him adoringly, soft smile found on her maw. She winked, then looked upon the brute before them with a soft flick of her beautiful plume that was held faintly above her spine. "I see you have company, dear." she said as she looked over the crimson male. Paws then carrying her form to settle shoulder to shoulder alongside of her mate. pade Spade felt the corners of his mouth twitch up slightly as he figured out that Kerrigan was not terribly angry for him stepping too far into the land. He opened his maw to respond to the question the large alpha had presented him with when another varg, of just as large of size, approached them. He felt like a dwarf compared to the gargantuan sized wolves. The new, white fae was just a tad bit smaller than Kerrigan. From the way she brushed against the large male's shoulder and gave his cheek a soft swipe of the tongue, Spade assumed that this lovely female was Kerrigan's mate - and she looked a bit swollen with pups.
Ah, pups. Spade clearly could remember Miraj as she only came up to his belly. It was a shame that his mate had to abandon them just because she was a vain creature and her only surviving offspring didn't look like her enough. It sickened him and made him question the world. But Miraj had been such a cute puppy, and Spade had loved her with all his heart and only wanted the best for her - even though he didn't know where she was now.
"Greetings, Miss" He spoke to the fae, "I'm Spade. And to answer you, Kerrigan, yes, other packs. A while back, I had a pup with me - my daughter. I wanted a good life for her, but the timing was bad. It was nearing winter, prey was running short and they couldn't afford to feed a full grown male and a growing female." He answered, remembering the way that they snapped at Miraj and himself. The way it made her terrified of the world outside of his protection. It was a disturbing thing. He had pleaded with them to at least take her and make sure that she survived, but they refused and he was left with the same things he had the day before.

A soft snort flared his lime nostrils as he heard the steps behind him. His lime jowls curled a bit, whole demeanor softening. He knew those footsteps. And, his ears flicked, the waddling gait they were starting to take on. Soft pads, the click of nails against ice, swish of fur, huff of breath. All familiar to him, and relaxing in a way that nothing else could be. While his eyes remained on the male in front of him, his ears were flicked back, attention split between a new packmember and his mate. Both were important, but with Zephora, Kerrigan just couldn't help himself. A puff of hair surrounded his muzzle as he tilted his head around to peer at his approaching mate. His tail swished lightly in greeting, maintaining his dignity. In private he would act like a pup, but in public he was alpha. And while he did not mind showing her affection and he did not keep himself from her, he still wanted it understood that he was not soft. And that he was just as powerful in love as he had been out of it. He watched her approach, keeping an eye on Spade. The male may seem nice, but he wasn't taking chances with his mate. Especially in her condition. He watched her approach, her white pelt usually standing out against the murky colors of the marsh, but not so very much this season with slight clumps of snow and frozen patches turning it the same clean, crisp cream.
His expression turned disgruntled, annoyed at her being up and about. She was with pup, for the Ancestors' sake! She needed to be resting. he could take care of the land. He didn't like the idea of her taking on loners at the border when she was not as deft as she had been previously. Her sides were round, but not so swollen, but still...She needed to be back at camp. He could take care of her just fine and he wasn't risking her or the pups because she wished to do her duty. He opened his mouth to tell her so, but his brain caught up and he clamp his teeth hard together. She was stubborn enough to make him sleep in the warriors den if he tried to go high handed on her. But he really wanted to. He swallowed a whine, but her soft voice had his muscles - starting to clench in stress - ease a little. He side brushed his and he huffed a breath, white air brushing the air. he curled his tail, brushing her wings. His head tilted as she swiped his cheek and his nose briefly nudged behind her ear in affectionate greeting. He cleared his throat as he turned back to the loner. The welcome to his mate had lasted only seconds, but he still felt uncomfortable having a witness.
He shook out his pelt self consciously, before straightening and pushing it from his mind. Zephora moved to his side, and he flicked a glance down at her. She was only slightly smaller than him, but that 'slightly' was more like a head. Her ears flickered right below his eye in height. She was still much larger than the male. They were a sight alright. Her lilted tones came again and he nodded briefly, but kept silently, allowing the male to introduce himself as was polite. And Spade did not correctly address his mate, but it was polite enough, if...off. His lime toned down a bit, the color dying to an almost sedate appearance. But the male answered his question and Kerrigan's face hardened. What type of pack was this? Not taking in a pup in winter. Of course prey was low, but it did not mean let another die, specially a wee baby. His markings sizzled, and his eyes narrowed a moment. He didn't understand some packs. Anyway, having a new pup would add new blood to a gene pool and a strong body for hunting the next winter once she had grown. As well as her father who could have helped hunt for the pack.
His teeth flashed seconds before he spoke. "Ach. I doonae believe a pack woul' do as such. Is almos' an insul' ta me. If yew ha' ma'e it 'ere, yew would hae been accep'ed, no ma'er 'he season," he said, ears flicking back a little at the thought. He shifted a little, pressing his side against the rounded belly of his mate. He understood, vaguely, how the male must have felt, having his child turned away from the best chance of survival. His own pups would get the best chance at life, and he would make damn sure of it. He sighed, sharp eyes taking int he fact there was no daughter by Spade's side. One ear quivered up and his mug opened again. "An' where be yer chil' now? Surely she 'id no' perish?" He spoke softly, if a shock in his voice at that thought. Maybe it was bad to bring it up, but he had to know. For some reason, he just had to.
ooc - if you have problems with him talking i can translate. the longer his speech, the worse his accent gets i'm afraid.

Zephora was more than happy to see the face of this new male, her ears swiveling forward upon her crown as he introduced himself to her. Her plume gave a beautiful yet soft swish upon the air behind her and she smiled. "My name is Zephora. Pleased to make your aquaintence." soothed her smooth lyrics, her gaze then flickering to her side upon which her beloved stood. She smiled to him too, but then looked back upon the male as he spoke.
Zephora's ears were then found slowly swiveling to face back upon her crown as she heard the story of the pup that hadn't been accepted into the pack for fear of food running short. Her brows furrowed with disgust of the fact that another pack could be so unhospitable to a pup, and she felt a soft ache within her chest just thinking of it. She, too, had noticed that the pup was nowhere present, and the though of that in itself slightly unnerved her. She allowed her ears to swivel forward upon her crown again as her beloved spoke. She nodded in aggreement to his words. "Indeed."
she said, then looking upon her right with a soft furrowing of her brow. "Turning away a father and his beautiful pup. It's a disgrace." she said with a fine snap of her tail. Zephora drew in a soft breath to calm herself as her beloved brushed against her, but then looked back upon the male that stood before them. It seemed that the mind of her mate was in sync' with her own, for he asked the very question she wished to ask as well. She swept the cool tip of her nose upon his jaw lovingly in a soft nudge, then breathed a sigh of relaxation and content as she savored his scent quietly, watching the male. "Yes, where did your precious pup go? I do hope that she's alright." she said, her ears sweeping forward upon her skull again. OOC;; Sorry for the wait, I had no muse for a while but it's coming back. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

pade Their reactions filled him to the brim with pleasure. This place was not just another harsh pack that felt that his story was just a lie to get some sympathy. Those other packs had pushed him away, calling a liar, never believing a word he said. And yet he longed to cry out for his daughter. "No, she's alive. About three months ago, she left on her own. She always was a wild one." He smiled wistfully. His daughter had become more distant after the rejections and over the course of a year, she would always wander further and further from their resting place. One morning, she was just gone. It didn't surprise him as much as he thought it would. It was like somewhere deep down, he had known that she would leave him. The only thing that made him howl to the early morning sky was the realization that Miraj was just like her mother. They had both left him.
"I'm not sure where she is anymore, but I am quite sure that she's still alive. Call it a father's intuition if you wish." He said, following his words with a short bark of laughter. His eyes showed age. Not years of wisdom beyond your belief, for Spade wasn't that old. But they did show his hurt and his pain. They portrayed everything he had experienced in his seventeen years of life. Some moments had been happy and others had been sad, but every moment he had lived since his daughter had left, he always wondered if it made him age a little more.

He felt Zephora's reaction, how it mirrored his own. He smiled internally, wondering how they had become to aligned to one another that they even had the same morals now. While they had their problems, nothing to grand had arrived to mess up their lives and he truly hoped nothing did. He sighed as she spoke, flicking his glance to her approvingly. He felt her nose brush his jaw and he let it fall a little so she could reach him more and to press a slight caress back to her without seeming to forward. He was one for affection, but not blatant displays in front of a male. Especially one who had lost his mate and his pup in one way or another. That saddened Kerrigan, knowing this wolf had traveled alone. He listened as his mate seconded him on his question, his curiosity kindling again as it trailed from other thoughts. He shifted his feet in the mud, not uncomfortable, just feeling them sinking and because remaining still for so long made him a little twitchy. He tail gave a flick to relieve some energy before he fell still again, none of his random thoughts or his want to run showed on his form as he waited for the males answer.
He could immediately tell that their concern touched the scarred male. It was gratifying to see the light in those tired eyes, even from something as small as a bit of politeness that Kerrigan considered normal. Sad, some wolves these days. He sighed out a breath, his nostrils flaring out with it before pulling in more scents. Nothing perked his interest so he tuned back in as the male spoke. Kerrigan smiled lightly relieved for the male that his daughter was alive, if elsewhere. He frowned, returning to a previous thought. So he was not alone by Fate's choice, but because his daughter had wandered away? While Kerrigan could understand independence and the want of a new life away from family, he also knew loyalty. The fae should have stayed with her father until he had another companion. Loner wolves had trouble catching enough food oftentimes, and leaving him to trail listlessly with someone to converse with was nearly as bad. Kerrigan knew that feeling, and it was not a pleasant one.
Spade's next sentence had Kerrigan wondering. Would he feel the same about his pups? Then he found that a stupid question. He already felt the little ones, their lives so connected to his own already. He would know if one passed, even if no proof was given to confirm it. He caught Spade's eyes and nodded, giving his understanding of those words. He curled his tail and he ignored the feel of Zephora's pelt brushing his to reply to the other. "Aye, I ken well wha' yew mean. I be sorry s'ill for yer 'rials wi'h o'hers. Yew are welcome 'ere, as I consider yew a fine male an' a good asse' to us." He snorted to emphasis his point and twitched his ears forward, green eyes understanding, his own weariness carefully hidden. While his life had not been so cruel, it had not been easy.

Zephora smiled at the words of the male that stood before them when she spoke of father's intuition. A glance was then cast upon Kerrigan as he spoke of these things, and she couldn't help but feel a little more excited about the upcoming arrival of their whelps. She knew that Kerrigan would make a fine father, for he was a fine leader and a wonderful lover. Zephora found her mind briefly wandering about as it then took to wondering what their beautiful children would look like, and what their personalities would grow to be with the time in the pack they'd have. But soon enough, all of these thoughts settled down, and Zephora's gaze reluctantly left Kerrigan to then look back upon the very brujo before them.
"Well, hopefully Kerrigan and myself will be able to meet your dear daughter some day. "
spoke the damsel with a perk of her ears. Indeed, she was rather curious to know what the daughter of this lone male looked like. Zephora was sure that she'd have grown to be a fine young huntress as well. Kerrigan soon welcomed this new male to their home, and Zephora gave a soft nod of her head. "Yes, please feel free to make yourself at home. You're safe here and welcome in Nigori." she spoke with a gentle swish of her tail. Zephora's ears then twisted back as she felt something, a rather harsh set of four kicks within her rounded belly. Her gaze went distant for a moment as she payed attention to it, then smiling as she realized that their whelps were merely getting settled and ready for a nap of some sort. By now, she'd picked up on their patterns and was pretty understanding of what to expect unless they threw her a curve ball. She glanced up to Kerrigan with a soft flick of her tail, then leaned in as she nuzzled his shoulder softly before she turned to head back towards their den. "I take it the pups are ready for a nap. Speaking of which, shall we head home you two?" she offered with a light tilt of her head, her attention remaining settled upon the two males that stood before her. pade Would it be wrong that Spade's smile got a little brighter at the words of acceptance spoken from the two alphas? No, not after his long, loveless past that left him desperate to find any form of companionship. His abandonment on multiple occasions has left his sense of adoration a bit haywire and so for this one wire to be correct, it is simply a miracle of his mind. A home. Something he finally has. Not a den that belongs to a hateful stepmother or a den shared by brutal siblings or a night spent with the degrading Ku. It was somewhere he could start over new and it left Spade with a giddy feeling- like everything was going right for him. But at what cost? The rest of these lands were in peril, having to fight off against this translucent Lucid character, and yet Spade was probably having the best days of his life. Such a shame. And as Zephora spoke the words of a home, Spade's heart felt like it would burst. It wasn't his imagination this time. He really had somewhere to sleep safely without fearing if he would wake up the next morning. "Thank you, both of you," He muttered with a small smile gracing his features, waiting for the two of them to lead so that he may follow to this new place he would call a home.

Kerrigan gave a low hum, a thoughtful sound as he listened to Zephora talk to the new pack wolf. He let his mind drift, content enough for but a moment. His mate was beside him, their young safely nestled in her belly. His pack was getting larger, and spring was arriving, threatening the chill in the air. And while the chilling ideas from Lucid and his mate still circled in his mind, it was toward the back for this one moment. He sighed out a breath, his nostrils constricting with his lungs, forcing the air out. He just wanted to relax a moment, enjoy his life. But that was not possible for long and while he knew that, he took this second to enjoy everything that had happened, everything that was now, everything he had wanted that had come true. Zephora, his pack, his pups. All were something he could not even describe. To himself, to others. His lime eyes were closed, having lowered somewhere between the hum and now. But it was a blink, a long one, but nonetheless a few seconds later they opened as Zephora spoke again, about the pups. He had missed most of what she had said before. Something about the male's young, something about....something.
His mind drifted away from the peaceful state and began to buzz with his worries and things he needed to do. He felt a poignant moment of grief over the loss, before moving on. Life was something no one could still. His ears arched forward, eyes drifted over his mate. He did a visible check, a very brief one, as she leaned in to nuzzle his shoulder. He shifted his weight more toward her so she could lean, even if they would be moving in a second, and spoke. "If they are ready for a snooze then we shall return," he woofed, his voice brooking no argument not that any would come since she had suggested it and the male needed a den. But there was no reason to a mated male. Zephora came first in all things. Before his pack even. His tail swished and he heard Spade speak. A soft smile tilted his muzzle. "No problem, lad. No problem t'all." He looked toward camp before nudging Zephora and nodding his head to inform her and Spade they would be moving.
"Come along then. Time for a nap and a den, then. I ken well you'll want to pick out a den for yourself. You'll no' see me stopping you."
