Kaji If only you knew the true me [/color] Her treads fell gently as she walked a familiar path, one she'd only taken once before but would never forget. Kaji paused around looked around, the area seemed so different now, yet still held the aura of warmth and protection. The large waterfall creating a light mist that formed a thin layer around her fur, so cooling, so refreshing. She closed her eyes and remembered for a second her first time here, a dreaded memory, but one that lead to such peace of mind she had no fear of reliving it any longer...
it was dark, darker then Kaji had ever seen before, the blackest night of her life, both in form and feel. She was running, running for dear life as she felt her pursuer on her heels. Her eyes shut tightly as she mustered her strength and tried to move faster. She felt something building inside of her, an energy like never before, and without warning released it. Her paws shone bright blue and her strides carried her further then before. Her paws seemed to never touch the ground but rather simply skim across it for a breaf moment. She traveled forward for what felt like miles until she finally began to decelerate, slowly feeling her muscles begin to feel the brunt of the run. Her legs ached and she felt top heavy until her body could take it no longer. The young wolf collapsed, her head landing on the ground with a thud. Slowly her vision faded to black and her eyes shut, she'd never been this exhausted before n her life.
Her face twitched as she felt small droplets of water falling on her closed lids. She opened her eyes slowly and strugged to lay on her belly. Her entire right side was covered in dirt from how she'd been sleeping, but this didn't matter to her, all that did was the sight that was before her eyes. She sat shocked as she gazed apon a large waterfall, the tiny droplets of mist making a rainbow against the dawn sun. Kaji stood up and shook herself off, but needed to spread her legs slightly to steady herself, she was still not fully restored from last night's run. She looked more intently at the waterfall, seeing a hole behind it, could this be a den? her thoughts suddenly paused in horror, was she in another wolves territory? She turned her head quickly, her mind still in a daze. She looked to her left and locked eyes with a wolf, glaring down at her. Her eyes widened and she stepped back, her eyes never leaving the stare.
The wolf was a Fae and had a powerful presence about her, Kaji could sense this was no low ranking member of the pack, her tail was raised high and she wore an aura of dominance...had Kaji come face to face with an Alpha? The Fae looked her over then stepped closer and leaned her head in. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" She asked, she had a gentle but firm tone to her voice. Kaji gulped, how should she react? Should she show respect? Should she try to assurt herself? She just wans't used to confrontations with other wolves. The fae leaned back and took the pup's silence as a sign on fear, perhaps she was being too forward. "I am Cindershock, Alphess of this pack, and you would be?" She asked, keeping her firmness but hoping that relieving her own information would encourage the fearful pup. Kaji gulped once more and took a deep breath. "I'm Kaji, I don't have a pack..." She said, trying to sound assertive but only having it come across as a pitiful attempt at bravery. The Fae chuckled lightly at the pup's lack of confidence. "I see, and why is a pup as young as yourself all alone here? In my territory no less?" Asked the Alphess, her tone seeming more taunting now. "Well see, I got lost..." Stated the pup, shifting her weight from foot to foot. "My mother was attacked, and I ran...I didn't know what to do." She said, looking away, her ears tucking to her head in shame. At the moment she felt a sting in her ear and quickly flicked it, only to have it sting more. She laid down and dragged a paw over her head then examined it, finding it coating in a thin layer of scarlet. Cinder watched as the pup examined her paw then shifted her eyes to Kaji's ear, there was a laceration and it was bleeding ever so slightly, it had obviously bled out during the night. "Well that explain the smell..." Muttered Cinder, looking away from the pup for the first time now. "And what about your father?" She asked, staring off into the waterfall. "No idea." Stated the pup rather nonchalantly, she never knew her father, and never wanted to. He'd left her at birth, so why bother wondering about someone who didn't care about you. Cinder tilted her head slightly and watched the pup, it seemed so wrong for her to be left out on her own, it had happened to her and she'd never wish it on any other. She leaned her head forward and touched the tip of her tongue onto Kaji's wound then stepping back. "Come with me, please." She said, turning and begining to walk, but pausing to look back and see if Kaji would truly follow. Cinder wanted her to, but she wasn't going to force the pup to join her. Kaji stared on, not fully understanding this Fae's kindness towards her. She shook out her head and blinked her eyes tight and she thought everything through as deeply as her mind could allow, but all she could think about was a voice screaming at her to follow. Kaji hopped to her feet and stepped forward. "Where are we going?" She asked, looking around, she tried to take another step but felt a sharp sting in her hind leg. She whimpered and looked back to find a group of three large slashes going down her right thigh, it was filled with dirt and still bleeding. Kaji shut her eyes as a fresh flash of pain swept through her, another whimper escaping her tightly shut maw. Cinder looked back worriedly at the pup, then turned and for the first time saw the injury, she stepped forward and examined it, a deep would that would probably scar... "You are coming with me!" She said, her mind now firmly set on taking care of this pup. She picked her up by the scruff of her neck and carried her over to the water's edge, Kaji squirmed violently against the alpha's grip, but there was no escape, she watched, horrified as the water came closer and closer, she shut her eyes tight. "Please don't kill me!" She shrieked as she was lowered into the water. She felt it touch her tight, the coolness easing her stinging leg, and the ripple pushing away alot of the dirt that smothered her wound. Her eyes opened as she was once more raised then placed on solid ground. She looked back at her leg, the cuts were now clean and bleeding less, she turned her gaze to the Fae, she no longer knew what to think. "Listen, you're hurt, you're young and you have no where to go, please, just come with me, join our pack, we'll take care of you." Cinder's words came out gently, a motherly tone filling them, Kaji paused and watched the female for a short while, she'd helped her for no reason and now wanted to take more care of her? Obviously Kaji had chosen the right direction to run to. Kaji smiled lightly at the alphess and nodded slightly. "If you'll have me I'll be happy to stay." Her words came out softly. Cinder smiled and turned to walk, glancing back at the pup and gesturing with her head for her to follow. Kaji stepped forward, cringing in pain as her hind leg moved. Looked back at her leg in disapproval, listed it slightly off the ground and into a limp. Kaji turned back to Cinder, who was staring back worriedly as the pup began to walk forward, her limp showing prominently.
Kaji was snapped back to reality as a bird flew over head, calling out loudly for it's mate. Kaji watched as it landed in a tree, next to another bird, the two greeted each other lovingly. Kaji let a little smile creep across her lips and she stood up slowly, planting all four paws firmly on the ground and looking around her. She'd been here a while, the morning sun had risen and was now almost in the center of the sky, the wind had picked up and was flowing a chill through Kaji's fur. She shook herself out and began walking away from the waterfall. She'd been in the pack for just under two years now and was ready to take on the responsibilities of a full pack member, she was actualy slightly excited to do something for the pack, to prove herself worthy of Cinder's kindness that day...

The cascading torrents of gushing water had fallen on deaf, over-sized ears for the past two days. Finally, the noise registered with a *click*, the enigma’s brain refocused and he was again animated and in motion, finally alive to the world. There was a very simple reason for the statuesque absence to every single thing that surrounded this pup. Tarquinn had been thinking.
In fact, the male had been lying there for the better part a few days now. Having been beaten by the falls once, completely thrashed by their sheer power in comparison to the absence of his own he was more determined than ever to take back his victory and see the water goddess whimper with her tail between her legs. Now he just had to figure out how. And thus it was that the pup had been lost within his cavernous mind with only the zillions of questions that bubbled into life in that damned, concocting brain of his. Now that he was finally awake to the world once more and still sat in the exact same spot, staring at the exact same falls, with no others around him to talk to nor quiz upon possible solutions to his dilemma, he began to question the only thing close; His rumbling stomach.
Taking two rumbles or a particularly loud one as yes, or one or a quiet few as a no. (As you do). This muttered string of questions was now the only focus on the little things mind and straight away he began discussing ways to defeat a waterfall with his belly. The result of which led to many useless ideas that all involved an awful lot of tummy rumbling. Eventually after a great load of getting nowhere fast the pup sighed and settled instead with the idea of confronting his belly on its uselessness. This was a rather loud affair.
“Well this really is quite ridiculous. I’ve been consulting you for the best part of [/b]*Rumble* ….. And I’ve got nothing! (don’t distract me!) If you’re so darn hungry why don’t you just tell me what you want to eat so I can get it for you!? … Of course. BUGS!”[/b]

Kaji If only you knew the true me [/color] The wind blew an icy chill up Kajis spine as she began walking away from the den, but she stopped suddenly as a sound caused her lip ear to perk slightly. She turned back to the rushing waters and saw a faint shape behind the blue veil. Kaji stepped closer and squinted her eyes to try and see who or what it was, but it was to no effect, the water was moving too quickly and the smell of fresh rain was blocking her from picking up the scent. Kaji stepped forward, carefully bounding on the slick stones as she came behind the waterfall, peeking her head into the pack's den. A small body was laying flat on the ground, making rather loud sounds and who ever it was seemed to be talking to themselves...odd to say the least...
Kaji stepped closer, keeping her head low and her ear perked -the good one anyway- as she stepped cautiously towards the pup, sniffing the air gently as she approached. It was an odd smell, but one she'd picked up before, she'd never actually spoken to the pup, but he seemed nice enough. He appared to be bickering with some unseen person...Kaji paused...was this pup mental? no, he was a pup after all, pups acted strangely. Kaji took another silent step forward but stopped mid tread as she heard the pup speak once more...something about food. "Did you say bugs?" Kaji stared at the pup in disgusted shock, she'd eaten a lot of things before, but something about the thought of consuming a BUG just set her completely off food... "I'm sorry, but there is no way you can actualy WANT to eat a bug, sure if there was nothing else, but really, REALLY?" She stepped forward, then after a second realised what she was doing and stepped back. Lifting her head up and blinking blankly. She let out a light cough then looked away from the pup, trying to have an air of dignity, but after her last show doubted the pup would actually believe it. "Listen, if you're hungry, then go catch a rabbit or something, not a bug, please..." She said glancing at the pup and looking him over, perhaps she needed to help him, she wasn't a perfect huntress but a bunny should be easy enough...she hoped "How about we go out and I catch you a little bunny to eat hmm?" she asked, looking to the pup, a small smile developing on her face, trying to act confident, but gently rocking back and forth on her front paws as she tried to think of how EXACTLY she was going to get a rabbit if the pup actualy wanted one.

The little pup halted mid leap-prep, rear still in the air and tail wagging as his fore-paws and head lay low in the grass. His ears pricked up as he heard a voice. It was pretty and what’s more it was COMPANY! =D The male was up on his feet in an instant, all previous thoughts lost to his mind as the sound of another had made the trigger that now pushed aside the rest leaving a train wreck of thought that would be sat there to gather dust until his wet nose stumbled upon it once more.
Seeing the fae his eyes lit up and he, in an instant came trotting over towards you, tail in the air and head held high, his curiosity already getting the better of his sense of caution (the existence of which can certainly be questioned). Upon reaching your feet he stopped. His front legs were close together, hind legs slightly parted and his head was held high. no way was he motionless however as his tail, lilac-tip and all wagged with his rear at a rate that was threatening to capsize the mini rainbow pup. He then looked up, his ears falling back on his head as his nose raised higher so that he could look up to the fae. His moth open in awe at her patterns and her colouring. Never before had he seen such colours beyond what he’d seen in the earth, to him it was fascinating. His brain and his eyes were at work and instantly he had formed several million million questions to inflict upon his latest victim.
“Wow, you’re pretty. I like you’re voice *smiles*. How did you get to have so much brown in you? Is it mud? ‘Cause I can help you clean it if it is. Is it your fur? Wow, it’s pretty. *ears perked up again*. Wow! What happened to your Ear!? How did you get those scars!? Was it a fight? Did you win??”[/b]
For a brief moment he halted as the words from this femme registered in his brain. His tongue lolled from the corner of his mouth before he licked his lips and proceeded to reply.
“Of course I eat bugs! They’re scrummy! Have you ever eaten one? I bet you haven’t, I’ll find you a really tasty one, tastes just like chicken! Though I don’t know what a chicken is but I’ve heard the phrase.”[/b]
The ball of fuzz and energy then began to look about him frantically, surveying for the best possible place to find the bugs that “taste like chicken” so that he could convince the fae he wasn’t mad. His movements were quick, his questions exhausting to keep track of and what’s more the damn pup’s movements threatened that he would, in a second, dart off after a luncheon of Bugs!

Kaji If only you knew the true me [/color] Kaji stared on as the pup spoke, tilting her head slightly to the side as she tried to take in every word the he spoke, which wasn't an easy task...she looked around uneasily, trying to find some way of getting the pup to back off a bit, she just couldn't take this type of attitude towards her, she wasn't akin to it. Her eyes flashed wide and she stared at the pup as he spoke so vividly about her appeal, stepping away slightly and glancing around quickly. oh my god...is he hitting on mel? her thoughts streamed through her mind but her reaction suddenly changed to a blank, emotionless stare as he mentioned her ear and scars, a low growl escaping her throat, to low for him to hear. She watched nervously as he scowered the area for 'a bug that tastes like chicken' that thought sent a chill down Kaji spine making her hair stand on end.
"L...listen, okay just stop...for 1 second, leave the bug, I don't want a bug." she said softly, watching the pup bolt around in front of her getting all the more worried that he'd actually find a bug to feed her, how could sh turn it down? he had this face and those huge ears and she could just tell that if he tried, he could make his eyes so huge she would half collapse from the cuteness. She looked around warily and hopped at the sound of a cricket, chirping happily. She stared at it in shock and in a total whisper begged it to shut it's trap before the pup heard. She glanced over at the pup in panic and then back at the bug, he didn't seem to have noticed it yet. She continued pleeding with it but it only got louder. Quickly she stamped her paw down atop the little bug, apologizing gently as she did so then turning quickly to face the pup once more.
He seemed easily distracted, which gave Kaji a plan, she looked around quickly to make sure that there was no one around she could dump the pup on, but she was alone...drat... She looked to the pup and coughed, trying to get his attention. "Hey, wait, if you're gonna feed me at least let me know your name." she said, looking at the pup and smiling brightly, inside her head screaming that the minute he was distracted again she'd make a break for it. Though this thought didn't last long, he was just an excitable pup, she'd have to just grin and bare it, maybe he'd calm down a bit once he got to know her...then again...maybe not

The pup stops for a minute, in fact the little pain-in-the-arse is as close to Still as could be imaginable for one with so much energy, even for a kid. His ears rose up again, oh god, not more energy. The pup was taking in every word you were saying, smiling as he did so, his eyes full of his childish innocence and good intentions and maybe even another question or too. And yet he held is pose in silence as you continued to assure him that you really didn’t need a bug for lunch. Finally he lowered his head a little as though pondering his options. He was about to raise his head once more to give the “okay” and allow you to skip the meal, although it was ill advised and that skipping meals was bad for you. But then his gaze fell down upon the fae’s paw as it crushed what seemed to be a little cricket. His ears fell slightly before he turned to look at you, but instead of sorrow his eyes are glistening, his ears slowly rise again and his maw broadens into a huge grin.[/i]
“Oh wow! You like squishing bugs too!? I love squishing bugs! I love my paws, their so big. They’re Perfect for it, it‘s great!!”[/b]
His body once more threatened to burst into a bound of energy but upon your question in relation to the pup’s name he smiled. Fell, quite deliberately onto his rump and began to scratch at his ear with his hind leg while still attempting to look up at you with a smile despite the claws, tugging and scratching at his skin.[/i]

Kaji If only you knew the true me [/color] Kaji watched uneasily as the pup approached her, trying hard to hide the splattered remains of the bug, still hiding under her petite paw. She cringed as she saw the pup examining it and awaited his big eyes staring up at her, that cute little voice cracking up, but was shocked by his excitement. She looked down and saw the joy in his eyes. "Y...yeah...let's go with that, I like squishing bugs." She said, looking away from the pup to hide her eyes from his gaze. She raised her paw and gently wiped off the slime on the grass as the pup gave his name, and obvious nick-names. "Oh okay, Quin it is." Kaji said, smiling lightly down at the pup, he seemed to have calmed slightly, but was obviously rearing to explode with another dash of energy. "I'm Kaji by the way." The small fae said, looking down at the pup and giggling lightly as he scratched at his largely over sized ear.
Kaji looked around for something to entertain the pup, she was here and didn't want to leave him bored so took it upon herself to locate something, anything to have him enjoy himself. Kaji let out a light sigh as she shut out the memories of her puphood, which in her mind didn't last very long at all. She only had 4 months with her mother and after that she'd done her best to mature quickly, another sigh. She looked down to the pup and wiped off the look of depression which had covered her face. "Okay, what's your favorate thing to do.....other then squashing bugs, none of that, I'm all squashed out." Kaji said, looking down at Quin, her eyes gentle, she wanted to help him enjoy his youth the way she wished she could have.

The little pup watched as the femme attempted to de-slimify her paws of the bug goo that was now present and along with her comment on the matter he sniggered. She wasn’t very good at lying, at least not to him but he went along with it. It wasn’t doing him harm after all and she seemed to only be trying to occupy him. She was thoughtful, despite this it was still amusing to see the femme’s, what looked like first, ever bug squish go slimy. Just the way he liked them. His smile widened as he received a new nickname as well as learning the name of his new friend. It was a pretty name for a pretty wolf, well that’s what Tara thought anyways. He finally let go his face and returned his paw to his side. He smiled at her soft and pretty giggle and sat there then as he watched her look around with curious but quiet(!?) anticipation. He was far from still though. He instead progressed to wagging his tail in a very hurried motion, fidgeting his digits (much like drumming his fingers if he had them of course.) and shaking his head to and fro, grinning with ridiculous amounts of pleasure as his giant ears flopped to and fro with his head and stroked the top of his head and his cheek as they did so. Finally his friend had returned her gaze to him and he was likewise smiling up at her, his mouth already parted to answer her coming question.[/i]
“Hehe I dunno. Thinking is intriguing but talking and playing with others is even better! We can play tag if you like, or hide and seek, do you wanna be “it”? Oh! And I promise I’ll think up a really good nickname for you in return!”[/b] =)[/i]

Kaji If only you knew the true me [/color] The wind swept softly through Kaji's fur as she stood, gazing down at the young wolf, his slow rocking was rather entertaining for Kaji to watch, his overly large ears flopping around seemed to make her feel ready for fun, as he seemed to be all the time. She listened intently to him as he chatted on lightly, he seemed a lot more calm, to Kaji's great relief. Quin mentioned the games which through Kaji into thought... Right okay, let's see, Hide and seek...hmm no, that'll be too easy, I can smell better then he can....Tag? but I can run much faster, I mean look at his paws, they're huge.... Kaji's thoughts raged on as she stared at the pup, looking him over and for the first time really noticing everything about him. He had a truly odd fur color that seemed to intrigue her, the mix of almost every earth color she'd ever seen, his ears were far, FAR too big for him, but it just added to his pup appeal. His huge paws made it seem like he'd one dy be quick the strong male. Though right now he seemed barely capable of taking down a bunny, without simply crushing the poor thing.... Maybe he'll be good at hiding though, even with my good nose his fur seems to be very similar to the leaves and ground, I might not see him.... "You have a very interesting fur color, never seen another wolf who looks like you." She said softly, knowing she slightly changed the subject, but this might help her know what games he might win at.

Having listened intently the little fuzz ball was sitting with his tongue lolling, just waiting for a chance to speak. Instead he laughed, a little prideful at the comment to his fur and its ludicrous colouration. He then rose back to his feet tail wagging, back legs parted once more and forepaws closed. He was grinning again.. Oh no.[/color]
“Hehe, nor have I. Even my family don’t have these colours. I think they’re pretty.. So did mum. I’m sure she still does, aren’t you?”
This question seemed a lot more needy than what showed with the words said and his eyes almost looked scared as he waited for a reply. His ears lowered a little and his divine eyes wished for no questions. A one worded answer was all the little thing needed to hear. He then breathed out, trying to calm himself as he shook his brain free of his little mind blip before his smile returned as did the loving animation in his eyes.
“Let’s play hide and seek, I’m pretty good at it ya know!? Tarquinn The Rogue; Hide and Seek player extraordinaire! I’ll hide first, ‘kay?”
As soon as he was able the mini excuse for a wolf-like ball of rainbow slowly began to fade away. His paws began to disappear, as did this make its way slowly up his legs, all the while the little man was giggling to see his powers take root. This was the first time he’d used it for pleasure and it made his body tingle quite amusingly. The ability continued to absorb the wolf into nothingness and soon it closed around his eyes and the pup felt sure he was now set to win. He ran off a little way before calling out to the fae. He was completely invisible! Apart form his tail..[/color]

Kaji If only you knew the true me [/color] Kaji smiled gently down at the pup, she couldn't help but feel a brush of pain as the pup mentioned his mother. She didn't know much about the little male, but she knew he was here alone, this was enough to get the idea through to her. "I'm most positive." She said looking down at the slightly saddened pup. As her words came out he brightened up, tail wagging as per usual, a small sigh of relief escaped her lips. She looked down happily as he mentioned the game and nodded, closing her eyes and smiling brightly. Kaji opened her lids to see the pup before her, her face suddenly dropping and her eyes staring on widely as she saw the pup begin to disappear. Kaji stood up half in a panic, her mouth opened to say something, but hearing the pup giggle settled her slightly, this must have been some sort of ability which came with his odd fur. A small purple dot wagged before kaji and then dashed off into the distance and disappeared. The Fae let out a sigh and closed her eyes, falling into thought.. Right...it's JUST hide and seek, played it a million times, just gotta follow his scent. Kaji's thoughts settled more and she slowly came back to reality. "Okay then Quin." She called out, just loudly enough for anyone within the area to hear. Kaji looked down and shut her eyes, remembering to count, just to give the pup a chance to get settled, he wouldn't really need a place to hide, but just to calm down and lay still.. "1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10! Here I come!" Kaji's head shot up and her eyes flashed open as she took in her surroundings. The constant sound of falling water from the falls was loud, but she could still hear most things, the slight breeze in the leaves, a bird fluttering over head. All she had to do was tune her scenes. Kaji walked forward slowly, sniffing at the air at where the pup had been sitting. Her nose was filled immediately with a number of scents, soil, water, grass, the fresh smell of the clouds gathering above... Kaji looked up, clouds had began to gather, Kaji closed her eyes as a soft wind swept through her fur, taking in all the smells coming along with it. Her eyes flashed open "Gotcha." Kaji got a smirk and her tail began to sway lazying behind her and she walked slowly in the direction of the smell, keeping her head low and barely lifting her paws before returning them to the ground, making as little noise as possibly she treaded towards a group of trees.

The little male sat low in the grass, his tail wagging frantically in his glee that he was now invisible! This made him the absolute best! Or at least he hadn’t met anyone better, such a notion was an exciting idea and he hoped one day to meet said wolf so that the duo could share their secrets and become the champion team of hide and seekers. As were the ambitions of one so young. His sniggering and joyous plans for the future were cut short however as he silenced upon spying the femme. His ears rose slowly and his nose crinkled as he watched her, watched what she was doing. Panic! Her nose was twitching and her head was low. She was sniffing, tracking. She would find him for sure![/color]
“Gotcha.”
Her eyes had lit up. Ah! She’d found his scent, this was bad! There was no way that Tarquinn The Rogue; Hide and Seek player extraordinaire was to lose his title so soon! He bounded upwards onto his scrambling, oversized paws that seemed to run off without him. He soon righted himself and with a flash of lilac tail, unbeknown to the pup and hopefully to the femme he scampered away from his place of refuge. His footfall let him very quickly almost matching the racing speeds of his whirring brain. He halted suddenly as his vision reappeared in the brief interval with which his brain had paused. Water! He had reached the side of the falls achievements such was the grand outstretch of water that was before him.[/color] --I can just about swim as long as I stay well away from those really powerful falls... I wonder how they got so strong... Ah! There’s no where shallow.. No time!—[/color]
He fought the urge to jump in and instead lowered himself into the waters as slowly, quietly and invisibly as possible. His swimming skills were poor to say the best and only just apt as he franticly puppy-paddled his way about in a hurried attempt to remove his smell, ducking his head and emerging to gasp at the air before repeating the process. Should he be visible he appeared a very miserable state of a half drowned wolf pup. Lucky you can’t see him huh. He then made his inelegant way back to sure, hoping to the Gods and Goddesses of Hide and Seek that he hadn’t been seen splashing about. He climbed out, shook his fur off and made a dash for a new location, his fur still rather damp and a little uncomfortable to be sat in.

Kaji If only you knew the true me [/color] She had just about started running when she halted suddenly, a noise registered in her ears, causing her limp ear to twitch, something was moving. Kaji turned her head and trotted forward slowly, listening as paws fell to the ground in a hurried attempt to get away. Kaji lowered her head and chuckled softly before sitting down, no use ending the fun so soon. She waited a few moments, wondering where the pup was headed, thinking if he'd caught on that she knew basically where he was. A sigh escaped Kaji's lips as she heard something moving the water near by, it was barely audible over the noise of the waterfall but Kaji was still in full concentration. She stepped closer slowly, poking her head between two trees and looking in the water. The pup wasn't there, or so it seemed. She could see a shape in the water, treading unprofessionally in an attempt to swim. She tilted her head, this WAS the pup right? Her thoughts were shown true as she heard the pup gulping for air a few times, another chuckle escaping her lips as she sat to watch the pup. A few moments past before a thought occurred to her, she watched the pup and it didn't seem the he noticed her, so she jumped up and quickly dashed to the other side of the pond, making as much noise as possible, hitting every stump, cracking every twig as she ran. When she reached the other side, she ran further away from the pond, until it seemed that the pup would no longer be able to hear her. She then stopped and quietly snuck back to observe the pup, wondering what his reaction would be.

The manic wolf child snickered as the rush of air caused as the fae bolted sent his ears tearing to the side. This pleased him immensely and as the crashing fell to soft snaps in the distance all was lost as the little pup sat in his place swishing his head side to side and laughing softly as his ears flopped with the movements of his little head. His grin was massive for the size of his head and his eyes where closed blissfully if not openly staring up at his ear tips as they swayed. His tail was wagging, full speed ahead with nothing to stop it. He gazed around himself as he did this, Fukai really was beautiful.
The trees were sleeping but he could feel them living, his mother had shown him how to feel life and he had remembered some of her words as they echoed in his mind. Though the area seemed deadened by winter there was still light. And life. The green of the leaves of some of the trees made him smile as he sat and saw the colour reflected in his own coat. How such vibrancy lived on in some flora and not in others was miraculous to the pup and he was happy to see the colours of those that stay alive even in winter bloom. The gloom that surrounded the air with its chill meant nothing to him. He saw the colours everywhere. The ground was still hard and cold but little bits of green were here even. Mixed in a patchwork network of browns, reds and greys. Even the chilly water he had so recently been the victim of had been warmer this time round. Bluer too and much more full of the growing life. The warmish breeze blew and with it came the delightful sound of the early, slightly dumb birds who were chirping about even in this frozen coldness. Yes the wind here was nothing when compared to the heart freezing winds up north and Tara’s coat would hold out but he figured the poor little flying things would be absolutely freezing due to the likelihood of the poor insulation properties of feathers. Feathers, for certain to this little maniac, wouldn’t even begin to be very warm enough for the little chicks. From this Tara had derived to make up a line of questioning and would therefore make a point to ask the birds said queries later when he didn’t have to be Tarquinn The Rogue; Hide and Seek player extraordinaire. Then he could let them sit on his head and his back And his Tail! And if he grew wings there too! He would keep them safe and warm and squish loads of bugs for them to eat.. He could be Tarquinn The Rogue; Bird Master extraordinaire!!!
Yeah.. It had happened again. The ludicrous ball of infinite fuzzbrains had gone off on one again and was now lost to the ramblings of the questions in his mind. His tail beating madly at the thought of him sat proudly surrounded by little birds, his form glowing with pride.

The warm afternoon sun fell on the charcoal-grey fur of a small wolf pup as she padded along the river’s edge, watching the water flow past. Her oversized paws made virtually no noise on the ground, rendering her passage untraceable. Calm golden eyes regarded the rushing water with interest through the black coon-mask that adorned her facial fur. Snippet, the abnormally small yearling who’d recently been adopted by Riptide of the Fukai pack, was looking for a shallow part of the river to splash in and cool off. Her dark fur absorbed every ray of heat that streamed from the sky, which was helpful in the winter and irrelevant in the cool shade of the woods but led to quick overheating on hot summer days by the exposed riverbank. She finally spotted a quiet, slow-moving bend that formed an almost still pool and smiled.
Snip trotted over to the bank and entered the water, closing her eyes and sighing happily as the cool water lapped up over her back and leeched the stinging heat away from her skin. The size of a seven-month-old pup and not growing any more, it didn’t take a very deep pool to cover her. A happy wriggle coursed through her body, starting at her head and traveling right down to her wagging tail. She bent her knees and sank deeper, submerging herself so only the tip of her nose showed above the water. She could feel her fur cooling off, the heat that so plagued her on these days dissolved by the wonderful flowing river.
Suddenly aware of an odd sound a bit downstream from her, Snippet stood up and cocked an ear downstream. There it was again- staggered splashes, as if something large was bouncing around in the water. Curious, she got out of the water and walked up the bank again. She kept her eyes forward, scanning the area in front of her for the source of the disturbance. Only….there was nothing there. Snip’s ears flattened in confusion. She was sure she’d heard something over here.
Cautious now, she raised her head and sniffed. There was another wolf nearby- two, in fact, but one of them she recognized. A small smile crossed her muzzle. The scent explained everything. The young pup it belonged to- Tarquinn was his name, wasn’t it?- had the power to turn invisible at will except for the bright purple tip of his tail. He was new to the pack, but Snip had met him once or twice. He was very friendly; after their first two meetings he’d decided he knew her well enough to start greeting her with tackles. This had frightened Snippet badly at first, but in time she realized he meant well and in truth was just trying to be nice, so she put up with it as graciously as she could. If Tarquinn was here, that probably meant Snip was going to be tackled soon. Since she didn’t know exactly where he was, Snippet sat down and settled herself as firmly as she could on the dirt to wait for her excitable new friend to figure out she was here.

Kaji If only you knew the true me [/color] A warm breeze blew past Kaji as she observed the pup, squinting her eyes as she saw his tail tip rapidly plumbing the ground, he apparently in deep thought though she couldn't be sure...he might have been sniffing, but the odd look on his face let her know he wasn't really paying attention to much out of his immediate area. A soft sigh escaped her maw and she settled down laying her head on her paws. Today truly was a beautiful day, sun rays were shining gently onto her fur and her eyes blinked lazily as she began relaxing fully, watching the pup was too easy going, he could be energetic, but like this was just too quiet. Kaji's eyes closed for a moment before flashing open again, a new scent had hit her. The fae hopped to her paws and looked around for who the new scent belonged to, she looked for the little purple dot, but it had disappeared, or at least she had lost it.
Kaji looked up and sniffed, trying to pick up the new scent, it was someone from the pick, but she had yet to meet this wolf. She opened her eyes and looked into the water, trying to find Quin, but still nothing, she'd completely lost the little purple tail tip. The fae hopped out of her hiding spot and out into the open, looking around for the pup fully now, she had completely been set off by this new wolf in the area and wasn't too sure on how to act around this new character. "Quin, where you at boy?" Kaji called out looking around for the little oddly proportioned pup thinking he'd hopefully know that Kaji meant game over.
[OOC: Yeah I only meant she saw that the water was moved appart, yknow his shape in the water? sorry if it seemed unfair, but you said splashing around, meant she saw that , also sorry or the late posting, mom's in hospital not alot of muse, too worried]

The pup had been sitting still, silent for some time now and then it hit him. Slap-bang across the muzzle and streaming up his nostrils. It was a smell. One in particular that he knew already, that came from a wolf he was already deeply attached to. Snippet! He felt himself veering to move and jumped to his pads tail wagging eccentrically before he lunged though he halted. Almost statuesque as the reminder of his game struck his memory. His ears twitched slightly and he sniffed again before taking a few exploratory steps forward, lowering his body to ground level, his rear still raised a little as he skulked along the grassy terrain. The birds had gone quiet. Cocking their heads to the side and hopping upon their branch. Making an inquisitive attempt to see what this strange creature was up to. First he’s blabbering to them saying god knows what and now he’s stalking something else, doing god knows what… ridiculous featherless quadruped. Scanning the area he felt himself giggle. He felt like a spy!! Well, Tarquinn The Rogue; Hide and Seek player extraordinaire was not about to lose his game due to the presence of his favourite fae. Staying as low as he could (almost) he big paws made their steady little way across to the shrubs that he had used to mask himself. First out stuck his nose, then the rest of his face as his ears perked up over the shrubs edge. Twitch, his ears tuned in, he’d heard something and like the giant sonar dishes his big ears were he listened to the words of the pretty brown fae.[/i] “Quin, where you at boy?” He slowly emerged from his hiding place, walking a little more than before but he still would not give himself away. He slowly bridged the gap between himself and her as he followed the smell of his little purple elder pup. She may think game over but that didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy his powers a little longer. Besides, if Snippet was about he’d want to have the advantage. His smell much to his annoyance was making a comeback. He had to act fast. He began to run.[/i] --Here I come Snippet! Ready or not!--[/b] Running full pelt, his large paws covering ground nicely his eyes locked on to his target. He’d gone from spy to stealth-tackling machine! *CHARGE!* Tail waging, unable to control his glee he lunged at Snippet paws outstretched, eyes glistening her smell rich up his nose it made him smile. He muttered to himself so that she hopefully wouldn’t hear:[/i]

Snippet held herself very still, her ears straining to their max for the sound of stealthy paws in the grass. Once he caught sight of her, she would never see Tarquinn coming – his invisibility would allow him to sneak up on her until he was ready to pounce. If she remembered right, only the very tip of the colorful pup’s tail would be visible. She knew he loved his special ability- it fit perfectly to his friendly and mischievous personality and he never misused it to her knowledge- but it was almost too suited to him. She’s overheard adult wolves grumbling about the pup and wishing that he couldn’t turn invisible when he chose- it gave him too much freedom, they said. It made him a danger. Snip didn’t see any danger in it. After all, he was nice enough and never stole food or snuck out of the dens at night. But then, adults were always so serious about everything. They confused Snippet often. She preferred to stick with her papa whenever she could. Even though he was an adult, he was always ready to explain things to her if she was confused.
Snip’s ear twitched backwards to catch a new sound from the bushes behind her. Leaves rustled to let something by. She sniffed. It was Tarquinn, alright. He was coming for her. Snip let out a tiny squeak and settled herself closer to the ground in anticipation of his coming attack. Her muscles were taught beneath her fur. Her tail tried to lash from side to side; she forced it to remain still. Her ears turned backwards to monitor any new sounds of the pup’s approach. She was ready for him.
It was lucky that she was, too. In another moment his huge paws were pounding across the ground. She gulped and closed her eyes. His paws got closer and closer and then there was a mighty whoosh of air as his body surged upwards in a leap. The she didn’t need to listen for him- she felt his paws in her back and she was rolling across the grass, knocked flat by the weight of the barreling pup. She finally came to a stop with Tarquinn’s weight on her chest. She was giggling uncontrollably as she fought to push him off. He was heavy.
”Quinny, you big lump, get off…I need to breathe!” Her stern words were spoiled by her laughter.
