A small dee-bird sat upon a low branch of a spruce sapling. It’s rhythmic chika-dee-dee-dee echoed with the sound of the falls in the distance. It was just like all the other dee-birds, same size, same shape; the only thing unique about it, was that it was pure gold. Every gold feather gleamed in the bright fall sun, and even the miniature eyelashes glowed with gold iridescence. From the very tip of the small bird’s beak, all the way down to the bird’s pointy little claws, it was solid gold. It was as if the gods had placed a small little treasure onto the world, and in a sense, indeed he had.
Chika-dee-dee-dee, chika-dee-dee-dee the bird called to no one specifically, nor to any specific reason. The small creature simply sang for the pure pleasure in it. Oh, how it had been too long since his last visit here! And the waterfalls were some of his greatest creations! If only the spirit realm could foster them! But then again, if it did, he probably wouldn’t make his infrequent-visits at all! So blessed be, that the spirit realm fostered no waterfalls at all! For he truly did love feeling the air against his body, and within his lungs.
The tiny bird averted its attention to the ground below, a small smile curving his tiny beak as his expected company drew near.

"ACK!"
After the heavy thumps that rang in the air, the female pup sat, her tail flopped lightly over her delicate black face. Giving a huff, the tail flew up and over, landing on the ground with a thud. The pup giggled, for the urge to play was strong in her heart. Those deep orange hues stared up at the boulders she climbed before, wanting to do it again. However, landing on her tush hard was enough to hold her back. Sure, she was a little fighter, but it's safe to say that she didn't want anything to go wrong today. "Where the hell is everyone?!" That tone of voice was a little shy, but the playfulness rang in it like thunder cracking in a thunderstorm.
Standing up, the pup's muscles bulged out a bit, giving her a slightly intimidating look upon her. Quite an abnormal size for her, but she wasn't exactly complaining; she didn't even notice it, in fact. The jet black fur that spread all over her body shone out under the sun's light, and the rays seeped through, making the orange dots on her fur pop out like stars in a pitch black sky. The orange dots coated her from her muzzle down to her tail, but it didn't go past her stomach. It looked like somebody threw orange paint on her; splattered it all over her.
Hence the nickname Splatter, hm?
Once up, the young one stuck her muzzle in the air and gave a loud sniff. "Can't rely on smelling anymore, huh?" Sighing, she felt the emotions of the creatures around her instead; happy, sad, angry. None of them made their appearance though, so she walked. Well, more like she padded down and leapt across rocks that were in her path. The waterfall rang out in the background in her ears, and it soothed her heart, giving it gentle beats.
The gentle beats were going to end now, as she felt something different. Something... unusual.
Those unique eyes set up, and scanned the surrounding area. Nothing seemed to stick out, until they landed upon something so strictly gold. As gold as the sun, no, maybe even brighter than that. Of course, since it was so shiny and out of nowhere, the young pup stalked over to it. Following the gaze up, as it was a gold bird, in a high tree.
Obviously.
The bird's calls were somewhat pleasing to her, calming her heart once more to a steady rhythm. "Hey! Why are you so gold? You can mix in with the sun, you know." Laughing, the pup sat down, unaware of her surroundings now. Instead, she was focused on the bird. Yes, the dotted pup was blunt, extremely blunt. As you can probably tell.

He watched, silently and expectedly as the young Raichu bounded through the brush and ferns that graced the jungle floor. Chika-dee-dee-de, chika-dee-dee-dee he called once more to catch her attention. It worked, as he always knew it would. The small curve of his beak would have grown into a heartfelt grin if birds were capable of grinning. Alas, this form was no good projecting his feelings in a physical sense, though he knew the little Raichu could and would feel his great joy in her spying him perched upon the low-lying branch of the spruce.
Golden feathers ruffled and extended as her sweet laughter reached him. Glimmering eyelids closed slowly as he swam in the gentle music. His small feathers shuddered lightly as he looked back down to her, casting hundreds of small reflections of light onto the ground and surrounding trees.
”Why, my child, would be so bad becoming one with the glorious sun?”
Though the dee-bird was smaller than the size of the pup’s paw, a voice of deep power came from his speech. Power, but also great kindness and knowing. It was a sound mighty enough to move a mountain, but gentle enough to coo a baby to sleep. The dee-bird’s metallic tail twitched, catching the sunlight just right so that it cast a golden shadow right before the pup’s feet. ”I rather enjoy the sun, don’t you?” The deep voice chuckled with the pure joy of finding his company and remembering their conversation.

The bird... the golden bird interested her. So unlike many other creatures, even his color set him off. Not unusual, just abnormal. There was something about the bird before her that made her cock her head a bit in curiosity. The size of him was normal, which was probably the only thing normal about it. Odd enough, the pup just couldn't get those orange eyes off of it; it was like she was in a trance. A trance that it took all her might to glance away for a moment before going back to it. Curling up her muzzle a bit, she watched it flutter down to the young one's paws.
”Why, my child, would be so bad becoming one with the glorious sun?”
The female pup shook her head a bit, seeming to be speechless. Words left her, which was unusual, and she couldn't find anything to say. The gold small sun sucked every literate word out of her. It was a struggle to reply. "Nothing would be bad; besides the fact that you'll never cool off." Another gentle chuckle from her, as she was getting the words back into her thoughts and the warmth of humor into her heart.
”I rather enjoy the sun, don’t you?”
"Yes. Without it, how can we get warm in harsh winter nights?" The pup blinked a few moments before continuing. "I mean, c'mon. The plants need the sunlight to get food, and the creatures that we eat need the plants to survive. It's like the God of the food chain." Giggling, the pup sat down lightly, and kept her eyes on the gold sun. Yes, she may be young, but her voice gave off a bit of wisdom, like she knew more than she should in this world.
