V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - Vanya sat atop of a small hill, watching the lands that she had come to call her home during the last few weeks. True, it wasn’t the tallest mount around, but at least it she could see most of the forest from there without going too far away from the dens. The hill was all covered with trees, as if it had been swallowed by the forest. Most of them were completely void of foliage now. The various patches of green that were still visible from her vantage point were most likely pines and other conifers. Those were probably the only ones that could withstand the harsh weather that came with winter. There was just a small clearing at the top of the hill, it was abruptly cut by a small cliff, steep and rocky. One ould have a clear view of the land from there though, and that was exactly where the young femme sat now, and the edge of the cliff.
Light green amber orbs scanned the land before her. Everything seemed to be frozen and covered in snow, and a cold breeze blew gently against her fur. She didn’t mind it though, because even in these conditions she was still very aware of the beauty that these lands held … Her lands. ‘That’s right …’, she thought, forcing herself to not lose sight of the reason why she was here in the first place. She hadn’t climbed up here just for the pleasure of sightseeing after all. No, she had a task to achieve, and she wasn’t about to leave work unfinished, especially when it was of this importance. She had indeed an important message to pass on to every wolf in the forest and lands surrounding it, wherever her voice would be carried. That’s why she had chosen this place; sound would be carried further away from a higher place.
She just sat there for a moment, her gaze lost in the horizon as the dim light of the fading sun illuminated her form. Many thoughts crossed her mind then. Things had been rather hectic lately. After all, the ambitions of a single wolf were now putting not only her pack, but also the whole land of Aelyn in peril. And it was just in these urgent times that their Alpha had disappeared out of thin air. They had looked for him, but it was to no avail, he was gone. And so, without someone to lead them, the pack had slowly started to fall into chaos. If their Betess, Minou, hadn’t been there to keep things under control who knows what could have happened. But fortunately things seemed to be stable once again, and the union between the wolves of the pack seemed to be as strong as ever as they supported each other in these difficult times.
That’s when she came into play. She had been worried about her pack seeing the current course of events; this was her home after all. It was true that she had just arrived recently along with Akai, her little protégé. But the time she had spent in the forest with pack had been more than enough for her to cherish both the land and her pack mates. And so, driven by worry and inquietude she had gone talk to their Betess. She wanted to help in any way possible. No, she didn’t just want to help, she wanted to put on her everything and push the pack forwards no matter what. ‘Indeed …’, she thought to herself, agreeing with her previous thoughts absently. She would definitively not let her pack fall apart, not now that the ominous shadow of Lucid threatened all of Aelyn, not ever. She would keep them together, she would protect their land, and they would be strong. Yeah, that’s how it was supposed to be … They had to be prepared for anything now.
When she had gone to talk to Minou the sore topic of their missing Alpha had come about. There was a slight uncertainty as to what they should do now, she had been told that this was the second Alpha that had disappeared without notice like that after all. They had had a rather long conversation then, and many things had come about. There was one specific topic that was directly linked to her current situation though. After a while both females had somehow ended up talking about how she could be fit to a be leader. The Betess had pointed it out first, and Vanya hadn’t really known what to say about it. As they continued talking something ignited inside of the young fae though, and eventually, driven by … to tell the truth she wasn’t exactly sure by what, she had asked the older femme if she could try out those skills she had pointed out and actually step over to lead the pack as Alphess.
It had been an impulse, foolish and naïve impulse in her opinion, unacceptable behavior. She had expected Minou to laugh, or frown, or just say something to turn her down. Nothing was said for a moment though. And then she had been truly surprised when the Betess actually accepted her proposition. At first she had thought it was some kind of joke, but the expression on the older femme’s slender face told her she was completely serious. And so, as of that moment she had turned to be the new Toko Forest’s pack’s Alphess. She was now responsible for the well being of the whole pack. And to tell the truth she wasn’t worried about not being fit for the job, because she knew she was. She knew she could handle it and keep moving forwards. Her life had been hard and difficult up to the moment she had joined the pack after all, and as cruel as it may have been, that probably was the best preparation she could possibly have had. Thanks to that she was now ready for anything, and she most likely was able to deal with a lot of things that other wolves probably couldn’t. A new flash of determination ran through her body then. Yeah, she would take this position with pride, and she would make it work perfectly in order to make sure that the trust her pack mates put in her wasn’t misplaced.
And that’s how she had ended up where she currently was. After that her new position into the pack had been decided, it had also been decided that it would be better to let every wolf around know of the change. She was slightly worried as she wondered if her pack mates would accept and recognize her as their Alphess though. She had after all just joined them some weeks before, and she was quite young too. Nevertheless, their opinion wouldn’t hold her down; she would prove herself worth, no matter what they might think. And if she had to make herself respected then so be it, she was rather good at it anyway. There was one thing that would change though; whether they shunned upon her or not, she would always keep pushing them forwards, and she would always protect the land that they called their home. And that was a fact.
Her eyes lit up as a small smile graced her features then. Yeah, she would definitively make this work. And if Lucid or any other threat ever entered her lands she would make sure for him to regret it. She was no pushover, and she was not afraid of confronting the brute if it came down to it, especially if it was to protect her lands and her pack. ‘It will be ok’. Indeed, it would be … She would make sure of it.
With that thought in mind she stepped up on her paws, her attention returning to her surroundings, seeing as she had been lost in thought for a while. The sky was darker now, but the various hues left by the sun on its way down to the horizon were still visible. The young femme sighed as she watched night slowly fall over the lands. It was beautiful, yes, but she still had something to do here. After a few moments she finally raised her maw in the air, and with that gesture a smooth, melodic howl echoed through the lands. The message was simple and clear enough: as of that moment she, Vanya, was the Alphess of these lands, and that was to be respected. - - - - - - - - - -OOC - Omg, my muse decided to work at last =o Anyway, I hope it isn't too cheesy or something, I just went with the flow. And of course this is open to all pack members. Note that your wolf must have been accpeted before Vanya actually became Alphess o.o
Oh and Ker, I kind of had Minou do a few things there, I hope you don't mind it. If you do just tell me and I'll edit :3 [/blockquote]

"Pain and love seem to have the best tango together" Aimer
”We’re young but Old enough to build up” ”For it wasn’t false love Wish this song would end” xxxxx He enjoyed the feel of the frosty air streaming through his proud coat as he ran in between the multitude of trees. It was good to just let his instincts take over once in a while- good to forget about his past, even if just for a moment. He could feel the primal urge of the wolf calling to him from the earth. Each paw step electrified his body with more and more energy. He wanted nothing more than sprout wings so that he needn't waste his energy on his powers to fly through the air. He closed his eyes, just letting the sound of the woods take over him and guide him.
It was about then that he heard the howl, a call of recognition, and upon opening his eyes, a particularly spiteful root was just a tad bit larger than the rest, and curled up. In so, our lovely brute tripped, hard. He went spiraling through the air, skimming above the ground as he came to a grinding halt against the trunk of another tree.
He groaned, peeling himself from the plant and shaking his pelt free of the tiny pieces of bark that decided to stick to him. He grinned. He had been in the lands for a little while, wandering to and fro, just hovering under the radar, but now he had his chance. He tracked the call, letting his mind think of just who was the alpha of the pack.
But his thoughts were soothed as he was met with the sight of a fae. Not any fae, but a powerful looking fae. So it wasn't an alpha after all, but rather an alphess. With a cocky grin, he presented himself to the femme. He dipped his head down, "Ah, such a beautiful voice you have, ma cheri." He spoke, raising himself back to his regular height and sitting down on the ground. His long tail created a steady beat against the ground as it displayed his pleased emotion. So long had it been since he had been faced with such beauty. "Forgive me for intruding. I am Aimer- is there any chance I could know the name of someone like yourself?"

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - After making sure that her call had been heard the young femme decided to stay were she was for a moment longer. The darkness of night would soon cover the lands anyway, so she might as well profit of the last minutes of light that the day had to offer. She had always liked this particular time of the day, when the sun was about to hide behind the horizon and its soft light painted the sky and the surroundings with different hues of gold and orange. She found it beautiful and peaceful, relaxing even. It also was the perfect moment to think about the things that she wouldn’t allow herself to think about during her daily activities because normally it was too distracting.
So she just sat there, watching the sunset, her mind slowly starting to drift away as memories started to flood it. She tried to focus on the good ones, because the others tended to ruin her mood in a second, but unfortunately there weren’t many of those. Those unpleasant remembrances didn’t haunt her as often as before now though. She didn’t really understand why, but it probably was because things finally seemed to be working the way it should be. A sudden rush of wind made her snap out of her reverie though. The chilly breeze brushed against her fur, ruffling it ever so slightly, but wasn’t unwelcome. She closed her eyes for a moment, sighing in contentment as the cold air filled her lungs.
It was then that a slight noise behind her caught her attention, putting an end to her little moment of enjoyment. Her yellow-green eyes snapped open the moment her ears picked up the sound: the cracking of the snow under soft steps. Yeah, someone was approaching, so she decided to get up as she turned around to see who was it that was coming. She hadn’t expected for that ‘someone’ to be already standing just a couple of feet away from her though, apparently she had been rather distracted for her not to have noticed before.
She stood proudly as she looked at the stranger, though that probably just came naturally because she wasn’t really trying to impress anyone. It was a brute, one she didn’t know at that. He didn’t carry the faint scent characteristic of her pack though, so it was easy to tell he was a loner. He wasn’t overly large, but neither was he small, just the average height a brute should be. He was still taller than her though, but that shouldn’t be surprising. His blonde fur seemed so … neat, well kept and soft looking. At least this one seemed to actually take care of himself, not like other brutes she had seen. She looked at him for a moment longer, taking a few seconds to read him as she used to do with others. Though it didn’t take a lot of effort to realize that he meant no harm, especially when he grinned at her.
He was the first to speak, she had expected for him to introduce himself right away like most did, but rather than that he complimented her on her voice and only after that did he proceed to make introductions. He wasn’t disrespectful at any point though; if anything he just seemed to be honest. She smiled at this; he seemed to be a pleasant individual. Her ears twitched at the sound of his smooth voice, and she didn’t fail to notice his different accent. She didn’t comment though, and she just limited herself to tilt her head slightly in curiosity, a gesture that was more on the ‘cute’ side even if it was obvious she hadn’t realized that.
She nodded softly in acknowledgement as the brute introduced himself, and then he asked for her name with a pleasantry she was starting to deduce was a normal part of his speech. It was only then that she realized that up until now she hadn’t uttered a word herself ever since they met. “Ah, Aimer, it is a pleasure to meet you”, her voice was soft and pleasant, and she meant what she said. It wasn’t an everyday’s occurrence to find a wolf quite like him after all. “And yes, you may know my name. I am Vanya, Alphess of these lands”, though she doubted he hadn’t heard her previous call, she thought she would make it clear just in case. He was a loner after all, and lately the only reason for loners to cross her lands was because they were looking for a home, most of them escaping Lucid’s claim of the Kumori plains. She was still curious about this brute though, so she decided she might as well inquire a few things about him. “I take it you’re no native to these lands ... So, what has brought you over to the Toko Forest Aimer?” - - - - - - - - - -OOC - Bleh, sorry for the long wait and the crappy post. My muse just hasn't been cooperating x.x [/blockquote]

"Pain and love seem to have the best tango together" Aimer
”We’re young but Old enough to build up” ”For it wasn’t false love Wish this song would end” xxxxx Aimer let a bit of a sly grin slip into the pleased smile that already covered his face. She hadn't spoken a word and he found that he was oddly pining to listen to her speaking voice. Her howl had been quite lovely, surely her words would only further that notion and he cocked his ears forward to listen attentively. Her voice simply was a pleasure- as most wolves he met nowadays had gruff voices or were simply repulsed by him for some odd reason and refused to talk to him.
Was it really so great meeting him? He was inwardly glad that he had at least brought a smile to her face. Oh, how shocked he was to hear her name- not a bad shock, but more of a shock because of how well the name seemed to fit her form. Seriously, if she had gone off and been named anything different... well, he just couldn't imagine it. Masking his surprised with another dip of his head, he murmured "Enchanté, Vanya." He brought his head up, his blue eyes looking over her form. He noticed the strength, hidden under the sandy brown pelt. She was deffinately not one that wolves would mess with. "Such a befitting name for someone of your beauty." Ah, Aimer, have you no shame? Actually... no. Aimer was not one to hide his thoughts, if he thought someone beautiful, he came right out and said it. Likewise if a wolf was horribly disfigured, but he had been practicing at holding his tongue in moments like those.
She had guessed correctly, he was not from around here, rather from somewhere he could no longer find his way back to or call home. He'd rather not dwell on such things and look forward to the future- forget the biased pack he once was a part off. A pack that were against those who had once been their brothers and sisters and prejudice against women who could fight. He could clearly remember all of the faes of his pack being pupsitters or pup bearers... none were allowed to hunt or lead or even have any job outside of pups and denkeeping. It wasn't a lifestyle he had wanted to suscribe to, and therefore, had left the lands he had once called his home. "Indeed I am no indigène, you have quite the eye. I have come from... my wanderings in search of a home- something I have not had in a long while." He hoped his answer was sufficent enough for her, though he would not mind if she were to ask of more in later times. But at this moment, he would not be willing to indulge his past to a fae he has just met.! t r a n s l a t i o n s. [Enchanté] Enchanted [indigène] native

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - The young femme hesitated for a moment after listening to Aimer’s words. His compliment was most certainly welcomed; but she wasn’t quite sure as to how she was supposed to react to it. After all, despite what it might have looked like, she was still young and inexperienced in some aspects of life, and this seemed to be one of them. She brushed it off though, her pride puffing over her doubts: it just wouldn’t let her show her hesitance openly. She would not make a fool of herself in front of a loner, as nice as he might be, or in front of anyone as far as she was concerned. So seeing as she wasn’t sure as to how she should react, she decided she would just pretend she did then. She just smiled slightly, tilting her head to the side softly in what could have been a mix of amusement and curiosity. She wasn’t going to shun him for such a small thing, especially when it didn’t really bother her. It wasn’t like he was out of place or anything … Yet.
What definitively caught her attention was his answer to what she had asked earlier though. ‘He comes from … ?’. He never said, instead he seemed to avoid the subject by talking about his search for a home. Of course she was quick to catch what was happening here: he obviously didn’t want to talk about his whereabouts. As curious as she could have been, she decided against pushing the matter any further. After all, she knew herself what it was to try to erase those unpleasant parts of one’s past, and most of the times avoiding to talk about it seemed to be the best solution. And added to that, they had just met. It was only natural that neither of them would be compelled to talk about their lives under that circumstance. Yeah, she understood that perfectly, so instead of trying to dig on the subject any more she decided to just focus on what he had mentioned, about him looking for a home.
“A home …”, she whispered more to herself than anything else, her gaze shifted slightly to the snow covered ground, her expression suddenly serious and pensive. She quickly snapped out of it though, and her light yellow-green orbs met Aimer’s blue ones again, her face holding a gentle expression as it had before. “If it is a home what you’re looking for then you’re welcome to stay and join my pack if you wish. We may not be many, but trust me when I say it is a nice place to live in”, she said with a smile. ‘Right … “Not many” my ass’. Truth to be told the Toko Forest pack was far from small by now. The number of wolves that could call themselves members of it had just skyrocketed the last few weeks. The pack was probably twice or maybe even thrice as large as it had been before. Vanya wasn’t quite sure if it was because she doing a good job as Alphess or if it was just the massive exodus of loners that Lucid had triggered by claiming the Kumori Plains, but it sure was nice to have more pack-mates around. She just had one more thing to add, because not everything was about enjoyment and pleasantries. “Just be aware that any ill toward my pack will not be tolerated”, she said sternly. As nice as she would like to be she just could not forget her responsibility to keep her pack safe. “As long as you understand that then you’re welcome to join us”, her tone was gentle and pleasant again, not having a reason for it to be otherwise with this brute.
Ah, a home indeed … Something that many craved for. Especially now that one of the larger lands on Aelyn had been claimed: the plains, the lands of the free, home to everyone and propriety of no one. Lands that where not meant to be claimed. And yet, all those who seeked freedom and independence in the large plains had suddenly had their home snatched from them by one ambitious and dark hearted wolf. Everything came crashing down ever since: the ones that called the plains their home and had no desire to call the dark being that was Lucid their leader had been forced to leave, and where else could they go then? The pack lands of course. Having said this, of course Vanya felt that it was her responsibility as the Toko Forest pack’s Alphess to welcome those wandering loners into her lands. She was not about to deny someone a home … Unless they gave her a good reason to do so.
She realized her current course of thought was pretty out of place though. The fact that the brute in front of her was a loner didn’t mean that he had forcefully come from the Kumori plains because of Lucid, he could have been wandering around before that even happened. But then again, he could have come from there too, and if that was the case he could know something, anything, that would enlighten her a bit more about the current situation in the plains. She had to know, any additional knowledge could be an asset in case her land was attacked, and she had to keep her home safe at all costs. So yes, she had to ask. “I have but one question for you … Do you by any chance come from the Kumori Plains? If so, do you per chance know anything about the current situation over there?”. Nothing more than that. She understood that he didn’t want to talk about his whereabouts so she wasn’t about to push it. Her question’s goal wasn’t to have him tell her about what he obviously was avoiding to talk about, she just wanted to have some insight as to what was going on in the plains. Any detail would be well appreciated, seeing as she only knew the basics of it.

”We’re young but Old enough to build up” ”For it wasn’t false love Wish this song would end” xxxxx Aimer was slightly shocked when the beautiful fae's tone of voice went from soft and sweet to protective. Not to say he wasn't expecting all rainbows and butterflies from the fae who had become an alphess. Surely she was strong and powerful and would have a dedication to her pack. He wasn't appalled by her strength. No, in fact, it seemed to add more to her beauty. He had come to notice that she was not like other faes he had met. She held herself high and was not afraid to show power. It was a pleasant difference that he hoped he would be able to witness more often. "I wouldn't dream of bringing any ill will towards a pack that has done no wrong to the world." He commented, leaving the thought hanging in the air. Oh, yes, he would not mind leading an attack on the pack of that bastard Lucid. But Aimer had renounced his blood thirsty ways long ago. He didn't want another Joan around while he was alive. As soon as he was dead and slowly becoming part of the earth again, they could have their battles that would use female wolves as their martyrs. But not while he was alive and kicking, no sir.
He shook his head gently- now was not the time to be thinking of Joan. She had passed and there was nothing he could do to bring her back. He could only live and know that because of her, he had seen the wrong his pack was doing. His ears perked to attention as Vanya spoke again, and he gave her a gentle face in his reply. "Ah, sorry, ma cheri, but I only passed through there briefly. Not enough time to know what was going on there." He spoke, his suave grin forming halfway into an apologetic smile. He hoped dearly that his uninformative answers would not upset the alphess; such a pretty face should never be shown in anger.

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - Vanya nodded slightly in approval when the brute next to her made it clear that he meant no harm to her pack. Of course, with that response he had also ensured his acceptance into the pack, which meant that as of that moment he was one of her fellow pack-mates. Now she only had to guide him to the camp so he could settle down, meet the others if they were there by the time they arrived, and choose his own sleeping area within the dens. By that time the young femme had already decided that Aimer was one of those wolves with whom it was easy to get along with, so it should be nice having him around.
He then answered the question she had asked previously. She had actually hopped for him to have some kind of information that could turn out to be useful, but alas, you can’t always have what you expect for. It turned to be that Aimer didn’t know much about the current situation in the plains, and she couldn’t really blame him if he had just been passing by. She sighed softly at this, knowing there was nothing she could do about it. “Ah, I see … Do not worry about it then, we will have the insight we need in due time. Thank you though”. Her voice was soft and pensive as she said this, looking absently ahead of her, a hint of dread flashing through her eyes. Truly, having such a limited knowledge about the current situation bothered her. It made her nervous because she was used to be always a step ahead; she was always ready for whatever might be thrown at her. But now … it was as though she had been blindfolded, being left with the constant apprehension of not knowing what to wait for, and that certainly unnerved her.
As soon as she realized she was starting to spaz out she shook her head slightly in order to regain her senses. It wasn’t polite to just leave her companion waiting for a response like that after all. She looked back up at him then, tilting her head slightly as she tried to regain the calm and gentle expression she had had before. “Well then Aimer, it is getting quite late. Please allow me to guide you to the camp so you can choose a den for yourself”, she said with a smile on her face once more; effectively shoving off the grim thoughts that had been invading her mind just a moment before. She turned in the direction of the camp, giving a small step to the front as if preparing herself to get on the move depending on his answer. Her head turned in his direction once more though. “Oh, if there is anything you wish to know please feel free to ask”, she said pleasantly. Her gaze didn’t move from his form as she waited to see if he had something to say before they were off.

"Pain and love seem to have the best tango together" Aimer
”We’re young but Old enough to build up” ”For it wasn’t false love Wish this song would end” xxxxx Oh, what Aimer wouldn't give to have the power to read minds at this moment. To know what was working behind those oddly shaded green eyes. But alas, he had no such powers of the mind. His powers of the mind could only lift himself and objects off the ground. He could not whisk anyone into the air with him, even if it were in pure fun and not during a battle. Shaking his pelt, he gave her an apologetic grin for not knowing more about the Kumori Plains. He wondered if it would hinder his eligibility of being accepted into the pack- long term. He brushed that thought off, pushing it to the back of his mind and focused on the fae in front of himself as she once again used that lyrical voice.
He smiled wryly and walked up beside Vanya, still giving her some space. "I would be upset if it wasn't you who showed me to the camp." He replied suavely. Outside he was calm, his tail slowly beating back and forth at a steady pace and a peaceful yet coy expression on his face. But inwardly he was just like a little pup who had just made his first sucessful kill and was being praised for it. Truth be told, he had never quite had a den to himself. He either had to share with his siblings or with another wolf from the pack. During their war, they had never stayed in one place too long and even during that week span that they stayed in one place, no one slept in the same den twice... there just wasn't room.
He was brought from his thoughts by Vanya's voice and if possible, his grin widened. Questions? "Well, ma cheri, if you don't mind me prying, does a beauty like yourself have a mate?" His mind was racing. Would she reject the question? Or would she answer? And if she answered, would he like it? If she had a mate, he would walk away, now, before he got any deeper in, but if she didn't, would she mind if he decided to persue her? It truely all depended on her answer.! t r a n s l a t i o n s. The time was just right, the sky was warm the breeze as well. Light feathery wings took flight as they flew over the warm forest. Perhaps in search of something to do? Of entertainment at that. A strong witted wolf never wasted their time like this, but was Vizorus witted at all? Though her loyalty blinded her at times was she witted? Her wing flapped once or twice in awhile but the wind currents were just perfect this day. The fae hummed a slow song as she spread through the air looking at the forest below her. Two wolves, she noticed one was her alpha the other she had no idea who it was.
I wonder if there is trouble? But, if not oh well I guess I could help out with anything they needed. Especially Vanya. She thought with a sigh. As the wind died Vizorus folded her wing in such a way she fell towards the two wolves. Right when she was at the treetop she spread them again lowering her speed to a amount of a glide very suddenly. As she neared closer she dodged branches and tree tops reaching the ground. Instead she found herself perched on a tree her light brown eyes watching Vanya and the newcomer. Am I intruding something? Vizorus thought as she branched herself onto another tree.
Vizorus always had the impression every wolf thought she was starving. After all her ribs were always showing and her torso stretched over her spine making her look like literally only skin and bones. Her fertile smelling fur came in handy when trying to hide, along with her green and brown patched fur she had. But, this was not the time to hide. After some consideration the female jumped from tree to tree out in front of the two. "Am I intruding?" She asked Vanya politely dipping her head in greeting.
Vizorus wondered what if she was invading? After all, for one to intrude on an Alpha was just plain wrong. The way Vizorus was she would obey Vanya no questions asked, she was no doubt loyal from when Vanya accepted her to when she had almost skipped into battle. The female sat down making grass grow around her to have something soft to sit on. That was her powers, earth things like plant things growing. The female looked at the alpha folding her wings up and lifting her head once more.
