Phrax & Open to all
The trees quivered eagerly with the coming sunrise, the reds and oranges of the wakening sun sparkled off the gentle snowflakes upon the bare canopy. Snow fell lightly, but only from a single stray cloud that could not reach the horizon to block the morning’s light from view. It was a beautiful morning. Light snow nestled the soft ground gently, like a clean bedsheet. The cloud cover that had hid the moonlight in the night had sprinkled white flakes all night long, but had dissipated with the coming light. And as the bright sun peeked through the dense array of trees, it caused the snow to sparkle and mimic its brilliance with reflection. The light was just barely bright enough to make one squint. The peaceful silence of the morning was broken by one solitary voice.
”Hello? Heeelloooo!” O’Malley called – yelled really – into the large entrance of the den of Toko Forest. The only greeting he received was his own gruff voice echoing back to him hello? heeelloooo!. He huffed in annoyance, scowling into the dark and apparently empty cave. Let’s see, he had met up with Phrax who had proceeded to electrocute him – twice – and no one had heard the scuffle. Then he had caused his own ruckus with his miniature-canon he had created from pure genius. Plus, the whole time he and Phrax had traveled, it’s not like they had kept their voices at a whisper. He huffed again, and set his maroon nose to the ground for any scent. How was it that a pack, that scented of wolves – and plenty of ‘em – failed to greet two loners at the border, as well as at the den’s front door. His ears flicked in annoyance. ”What kinda’ pack is this anyways?”
The black brute grumbled to himself. This was the reason he had originally left these lands. The alpha – what was his name? Cornith? Or something…- had just up and disappeared. And now that he returned to his original home, there was no scent of an alpha anywhere. He could have swore that he heard another claim the lands. Black upper lip gave a slight twitch. Maybe he could claim the lands. His bushy tail flicked in amusement as he picked at the thought within his brain. O’Malley sat his rump upon the ground, in a spot beneath a wide oak, and looked to the sunrise peeking through the canopy.

The delicious and heartwarming sunlight streamed down in great torrents through the frozen trees. To Phrax the sheer brilliance of this golden wonderment seemed to lick her very essence as it was welcoming her to these lands. She found herself smiling, actually Smiling!! She felt happy and warm and maybe even.. home? The latter had taken root not long after she had met O'Malley but this place seemed to nourish the new born emotion until it was a stage of further growth. This feeling already felt stronger than it ever had with her old family and though the thought of the dreadful times bit at her spine like frost this warmth was acctually soothing it! And the idea of finding a home that she could live in with O'Malley couldn't've filled her with more joy. Her heartbeat jumped.
She padded forward, a sleepy look about her and holding her tongue. She slowly made her way towards O'Malley before sitting down beside him. Phrax turned to face him then, the sunlight washing over the two of them. Their bodies glistening together as devine wolven deities would glisten in Phrax's mind. Right then she truely realised, not her want but her need to be with him. Always. Her eyes sparkled both as a result of the glimmering sun and the her new ambitious ideas both of a future and of what she was about to do next.--"Ushishishishishi"--[/b] She leant towards O'Malley then and instantly licked his cheek. She abruptly pulled away once more, allowing him to respond. As for herself she just smiled calmly but jokingly, her eyes still shimmering; the one that could see, its colour made crystal-like by the sun. The practically blind looked dark like a void, the light that shone in it, lost. Her tail was still and she finally breethed in the cool, wolf-enriched air and snorted as the smell of so many stung her nose with its unfarmiliarity. It wasn't so much the smell as it was the joy and feeling of belonging that accompanied it here. This place was truely a happy one. O'Malley's comment of the packlands at this time made her giggle, his timing had been perfect for his contradicting opinion to be noted. She smiled up at him, kindly, until it broadened to show her teeth as she opened her jaws."Hehehe. Well dear thing I do believe we have stumbled upon a delighful and slightly incompetent packland. Maybe we'll claim it ourselves and show them just how laziness is Really done."[/b]

Remember, he hasn’t told her his real name yet! ; )
His ears flicked, picking up the light crunch of snow beneath Phrax’s paws. He didn’t look to her, keeping his gaze high to the canopy. Flinching as a breeze caused the trees to quiver and shine the bright sunlight in his one eye. ”Ah.” He looked down, now blind in both eyes. Maroon mane shook as he attempted to shake the bright light from his vision. O’Malley rubbed his paw over his un-scarred eye, opening it wide and blinking it repeatedly. After he had confirmed that he could, in fact, see once more, he turned his attention back to the den. He huffed, his warm breath visible in the chill of the morning. Now why in the world would there be no pack members about? Even the scents of any wolves were feint. He knew, his ears hadn’t deceived him, that a new wolf had claimed the Forest after Corrinth’s disappearance. Which was the only darn reason he had returned here! Stable leadership, no one who’d scat without notice. He huffed again, to think he had traveled all this way for nothing.
His senses told him that Phrax sat to his side, but he paid no attention. Intricate calculations of time picked at his brain as he estimated exactly how much time he had wasted traveling away from the Forest and traveling back for nothing. His fiery eye squinted as he looked to the sky, estimating the position of the sun as it was highest in the sky on this day. O’Malley looked back to the ground, though not seeing anything. A single toe on his right foot tapped lightly into the ground with every measurement of time he calculated. An earthquake would have failed to bring him from his elaborate thoughts. But one thing could always easily bring him back to the world. O’Malley felt Phrax’s tongue lightly kiss his cheek.
His toe stopped tapping, but he didn’t look up. Damn him and his masculine charm. O’Malley had, unknowingly to himself, caught the romantic eye of this female. It took every ounce of willpower he owned to keep from smirking to himself. How he loved the ladies. It was truly his one downfall. O’Malley only had two fantasies he’d pick at his mind with sometimes. One was a world where no one was stupid. And the other was a world where he was surrounded by foolish girls. Girls to flirt with, girls to lead on, girls to swoon over him…that would be the only other perfect world. O’Malley subtly licked his chops, surprised at himself. He was truly unprepared. Usually whenever a fae would act out like this, it was he who had drove her to it. But he hadn’t even purposely tried to charm Phrax. Oh, he was good.
His tail twitched idly behind him as he contemplated what his next move should be. Perhaps a sly remark? Something shadowy, not revealing to much, something that could be questioned and potentially lead her on more. His mind was a work once more. O’Malley heard the words that she spoke, but he wasn’t listening. And as an automatic response, he simply nodded and uttered, ”Uh-huh”
There! He had it! The perfect remark, the perfect response to her show of affection. His grinned inwardly but hid it upon his lips. Just as O’Malley opened his black maw- -a howl sounded in the distance.
He paused, in mid-breath. O’Malley stood, ears and tail high and alert. His nose sniffed the air cautiously, and under his breath he muttered, ”You’ve got to be kidding me.” Someone else had just claimed the Forest as their own.

Phrax looked O'Malley up and own as he responded very dully to her "lick". His tail flicked calmly and he appeared thoughtful, to this she rolled her eyes as he seemed likely to disappear from conciousness once more. She stood then and shook herself down making sure to show no sense of emotion that hinted towards her feelings. This was not something she would like to be known. It could leave her vulnaerable. and with no confromation from his part it wasn't a knowledge she wished him to be in possession of either. Phrax had at least learned all to well that men were dangerous and that letting one in without admition to their side could lead quite easily to a tradgety on her half. She smiled broadly, her insanity kicking in as her brain began to frazzle with increased electric currents that started to form their half voluntary half un-controlable barrier that would seal off her feelings. Her ears however perked up at the sound of the new howl and her expression maddened further both in great new interest at what was just made aware to the pair and at the irony of the timing of this new calls intent so soon after her words. she barked her
"Ushishishi"[/b] and flipped her head over to face O'Malley, the laugh still snickering across her lips.
"Don't get to worked up dear Pussy. 'Shishishi. I still want to try for a proper taste of your flesh so don't think I'm finnished. And as far as the howling, if it bothers you so very much we could always. Call back!"
As the last two words are said, cut off from the rest of the sentance she seems to ignite with static energy and a few sparks fly off into the atmosphere. She's lost it again and continues to snigger just above silence before her eyes open again, glistening with the notion of howling despite the trouble it could cause she throws forth her head ready to flip it back and scream.

O’Malley’s right ear flicked idly with the sound of Phrax’s snicker. It was an odd sound, unique only to her as far as he knew. It often reminded him of a bird call, starting with a medium ‘ooo’ then trailing off into repeated calls of ‘shishi’. Like the bird was shushing someone, ‘shhhh’, but then it followed with a high pitched ‘eee’. It was, indeed, a unique laughter. But he had grown quite accustomed to it. So accustomed, in fact, that the harmony didn’t really faze him. His right ear flicked once more.
Since the howl he had heard in the distance shocked him from his never-ending train of thoughts, O’Malley was again, stuck in the ‘real’ world. His maroon nose twitched as he watched Phrax turn before him, her heavy voice as unique as her laughter. She really was something else, he had to admit. Definitely had some extreme highs and lows that O’Malley had never witnessed in a female before. The corner of his mouth twitched with an insulting thought, that he knew much better than to say aloud. Perhaps she was in…heat… His mouth twitched once more as he deliberately looked away from her as she talked, dancing away from him. After all, females acted crazy around…”that time” right? Which could possibly explain this girl’s odd behavior. O’Malley was afraid to breathe in, terrified that he might, in fact, scent that embarrassing fact.
When he looked back to Phrax, she was staring at him. As if expecting a reply to something. But he hadn’t heard a word she said. This time, his ear and mouth twitched simultaneously. ”Uh, sure?” He nodded his head to her, to give his empty reply filler. His busy tail wagged behind him in slight uncertainty. What had he just agreed to? [/blockquote]

She stood then, her eyes now opened, head raised ever so slightly and gate in his view with the tail poised. This positioning of her rear now matching her eyes and her grin that seemed to be laughing: "Are you Serious?" She waited no longer and threw back her head. Her fringe flicked away from her face and her neck exposed as, almost in slow motion her jaws opened and she H.O.W.L.E.D.!
As the shriek of hysteria and clear amusement had finally made its escape of Phrax's body her head finally lowered once more. She grinned with pride, clearly that had been something she'd been itching to do for a while and her ears lay almost horrizontally flat with great joy of the situation. Slowly though one ear began to lower and it seemed to do so in time with the creaking of Phrax's brain as it occoured to her that O'Malley hadn't made so much as a squeak. --Hmmph!--[/b]
She skulked/trotted over to him smiling still, her jaws curved upwards as if she was resisting the temptation to lick him and then laugh again before her time in the spotlight was up but it soon became aparent that that wasn't on her agenda. Once she reached him she turned so they were once again parallel and facing the same way before she gave him a light *Kick* to the ankle, her glare one of humourous irritation as her tongue slid out from between her lips. "Hehe, you twit. You forgot to howl."[/b]

His fur shot at end as Phrax howled. Even his heavy mane stood tall, remarkable considering how thick the fur was. What was she doing? Sure, he wasn’t impressed with the way this pack appeared to be run, but they didn’t need to draw attention to themselves. Any notion of her previously just going through random mood went out the window. She was nothing more than stark mad! ”Shhhhhh!!” A few drops of spit flew from between his fangs as he shushed her. But she didn’t even hear him with how loud her cry was. O’Malley’s claws dug slightly into the ground as a small wave of nervousness came over him. They were still loners, trespassers on this land, what in the ancestor’s names was she thinking! He would have felt differently if she were only calling out to get someone’s attention, or to ask a pack member for help, but she was just yowling for the sake of it.
He retracted his foot from her as she tapped it, huffing at him. ”No, I didn’t forget anything!” his rough voice was thick with emphasis, but hushed as if more noise would agitate any offended pack members who heard the howl. ”What do you think you’re doing! We don’t even know if we’re welcome here! I’m not going to wear another mark from the alpha,” he motioned to his scarred eye, ”because some crazy female doesn’t know her place. Or, or…lack of place.” He stammered slightly with the last sentence, since technically neither of them had places and were still outsiders. O’Malley ignored his weak word placement and continued, ”If you want to call for acceptance, that’s fine with me, just don’t go around singing in the face of the world our being here.” [/blockquote]

Phrax’s ears fell low as she was shushed but her eyes were still aflame with her unaidable insanity. She smiled, slightly calmer then before opening her maw and licking her lips of the spit that had fallen onto her fur. She continued to run her tongue over jer muzzle until she seemed satisfied that she was clean once more... either that or that she was sure she'd drunk ever last drop. Her eyes drifted over to the side as if she was starting to think rationally again bit the corner of her lips still twitched slightly. Not much chance of normal just yet it seemed… she blinked. And sniggered
“Allright, allright, I shall try to mind my tongue before your fur poofs out again like a giant pom-pom. But dear thing.. You might have to bite it for me to keep it quiet. It doesn’t like to listen to me. And anyway, I was only saying hello. Ushishishi”
The fae then sat once more, her rump nestled on the ground with a soft thud and her tail wagging slowly as she looked around her surroundings before once more falling silent. It was almost as if the quiet femme was embarrassed before her eyes and focus changed, widened at a patch of sunlight that caught the tip of her nose. She smiled at it softly and grinned an odd, childlike grin as it danced whenever she moved her head. She almost sliently sighed as she did so.
--..sorry.--[/b]

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - So it was done. She was now officially in charge of leading the pack, and she didn’t only plan on “leading it”, but she was rather determined to lead it into greatness. Yes, she would make sure that the pack that had turned to be her family turned out to be a big, strong and successful pack. They would be a amazing force and nothing would make them stagger. Vanya smirked at the thought. At first the idea of being the Alphess of the Toko Forest pack had hit her totally unaware. Now she had fully braced the idea though, and she was prepared to assume her responsibilities as it should be.
As of now she was just heading back to the camp after making sure that every wolf in the land knew of her new position. She wanted to check on her pack mates before going to patrol their territory, which she would be doing rather often from now on, seeing as it was her duty as Alphess. She knew that most of them would probably be away either hunting and helping with the regular patrols around the borders. It was a normal happening at this time in the morning; they weren’t lazy wolves after all, and pack activities started rather early. Due to this it was normal for the dens to be rather deserted at this time, but she still wanted to check if there was someone before going away to cope with her newly found duties.
She wasn’t too far now, and she picked up her pace slightly in her eagerness to get there already. Her moves where smooth and soft in the snowy surrounding, threading between the large trees with ease as she practically glided through the forest. But then something made her stop dead in her tracks. A howl, a long deep howl echoed through the tall trees. One delicate paw was left hanging in the air, seeing as she had just frozen in place at this, her steps completely interrupted. It was a matter of seconds before she straightened herself, returning to her senses. Her head rose up sharply then, ears perked up as she caught in the sound.
She was fast to identify it as a stranger’s voice, but she was shocked when she realized the direction it came from. ‘From the dens? …’, she frowned at this, her eyes full of suspicion. What was a loner doing near the dens? She decided that questions would be answered later; right now she had to take care of this. And so, without losing any more time, she was set into motion; her lithe form darted in the direction of the camp. She moved quickly, her every step steady and graceful. To any onlooker it would have looked like a flash of light brown gliding through the forest, disrupting the whiteness that covered it.
When she finally reached the desired location it wasn’t hard to tell what had cause the sound that had driven her there in a rush. There, near the entrance to the dens, stood two wolves, or rather, they were sitting down. She watched them from afar at first, hidden between the trees that surrounded the camp. She slowly approached them, ears perked up as she moved silently in their direction. She watched them carefully all the while: male and femme, large and small, his fur was a deep black while hers was a vibrant indigo color. A couple maybe?
A rather suspicious look adorned her eyes as she advanced. She understood that loners needed a home now that Lucid had claimed the plains, and thus she accepted the fact that they would have a high influx of stranger wolves into their lands. That didn’t bother her though, she was glad to provide a home to those in need that proved to be trustworthy. What bothered her was the fact that they had made their way to the camp, which was supposed to be a safe haven for the pack. Pups, elders and any weakened member were normally there after all, so this was bound to be a safe place. And yet here they were, at the entrance of the dens. They could very well turn out to be some crazy murderous wolves, and if that had been the case just the fact of them being there was a problem. She wasn’t pleased with the current situation to say the least; what were these strangers doing here?
When she assessed that the distance between her and the loners was short enough for her to address them without having to raise her voice, but without getting too near for self-preservation’s sake, she stopped. Her stance was firm and confident as always, and her features soft and graceful, but her eyes … If glares were able to kill someone, these two would have been long dead. Her body and her expression didn’t betray anything though … That it wasn’t until one looked into her fiery eyes that it was rather easy to tell that she wasn’t really pleased. Her gaze pierced into them, and she didn’t really know if they knew that she there or not, but she didn’t really care, they would find out soon enough anyway.
She gazed at them for a moment longer before speaking. “May I know what business do you have here?”. Her normally smooth and lyrical voice was sharp and strict, her fiery temper threatening to flare out if any of these wolves dared to disrespect her. She made an effort to keep it at bay though, there was no need to scare off the newcomers at first sight. “I am Vanya, Alphess of these lands”, she continued coolly. “Who are you and what has brought you here?”. Simple, direct to the point and clear. That’s how she worked, and she expected an equally clear answer. - - - - - - - - - -OOC - I hope you don't mind of I have Vanya pop in already xP [/blockquote]

Phrax’s head snaps up at the sound of the newcomers voice and a wide grin spreads slowly across her lips. Her eyes flare brightly like an explosion of fire just awakened. She slowly lifts herself off the earth and begins to walk. Her little paws making their way right up to greet the Alphess. Phrax comes up a little too short to properly stare eye to eye with the great wolfess but this did not phase the small fae in the slightest. She looked up at the femme before and smiled brightly. Her ego was already present and, like Phrax, it continued to buff out its chest and smirk. Finally Phrax’s true nature was coming to the surface.
“But of course great Vanya. I assure you that we mean no harm. We’re just hoping to find acceptance within your wonderous pack. My name is Phrax.”[/b]
Her words were kind but her tone seemed almost mocking despite the actual sincerity with witch they were meant. Her smile was widening and she seemed to be thinking over the delightful taste of her own words, this grin was then turned kindly towards Vanya and soon to her Pussy. Phrax started to walk once more until she was treading parallel to the Alphess, her shoulders passed by Vanya’s face, her bad eye kept hidden. Phrax walked on until her tail brushed against her muzzle and a tiny buzz of electricity shot to Vanya’s nose. Phrax turned her head and flashed a warm grin.
“It is an honour to meet you.”[/b]
((I'm gonna Kill Phrax for this, she's so akward!!! Sorry Vanya, sorry Chi! Only problem with Phrax is though she's really nice she won't show it and so is a complete bitch. The uncontrolable outbirsts of insanity don't help her out much either... '^^))[/i]

Posting order:: -O’Malley -Vanya -Phrax
(Vanya is next!!!)
He harrumphed at Phrax’s explanation, no, more like excuse. Some females. His eye rolled as he looked away from her, holding his tongue, not looking to receive a shock from her again. One was enough to satisfy any curiosity for a lifetime, thank you. Thick brows seemed to slide slowly downward as he thought – much like the angry glare a cat might give one as a warning sign to keep their distance. But O’Malley wasn’t angry, just frustrated and irked (to say the least) at his companion. He should have just left her lying on her side in the forest litter when he had first come across her. Females, he did love them, but not if they were crazy like this one. Although she was fun to tease, O’Malley had no better word to describe her than insane – and that wasn’t the best word, either. She was unpredictable, her own wolf, he gave her that, but she seemed to be nothing but highs and lows. Phrax was truly a mystery. And although O’Malley loved mysteries, this one he would gladly do without.
Call him a hypocrite – he was about to call him that himself. He had no interest in females – other than to tease and pick at – that had no minds of their own. He hated the ones that depended on others, that expected the males, and their superiors to provide for them. And he especially hated the girls that could take no joke. Phrax was not like this – not after the first impression at least – but still, O’Malley found he had a minor aversion to her. She certainly had a mind of her own (she might even have a mind for two), and she took no crap, really. But she was so…he was at a loss of an adjective. What could she be called? He didn’t think crazy, or insane would be proper descriptions, but he could find no other word in his immediate vocabulary to fufill that void. Perhaps that was why she irked him, because he could not accurately describe her. O’Malley liked being able to describe, to explain things. Never before had he felt himself so frustrated by anything. He had worked the cogs and gears of his brilliant mind in order to unravel the world’s mysteries, but the mystery of Phrax eluded him. He could not describe her, he could not wrap his head around her personality. And he didn’t like it.
He opened his mouth to say something but paused. His attention turned to a patch of bushes in the distance. Movement? Staring intently, he saw nothing else. Trick of the light, perhaps. As an instinct, he sniffed carefully in the air, but found no scent other than the fae’s next to him. His nerves were getting to him – especially sense Phrax had just sang to the world where they were. Maybe he shouldn’t be as bothered by that as he was, but he couldn’t help still feeling like a complete stranger to these lands. And that was a silly thought, after all he was birthed in these lands, he grew up here, he knew the place better than the pads of his paws. And still, it felt so alien to him, as if he was ‘behind enemy lines’ or something ridiculous like that. O’Malley rationalized that his feelings were due to the sporadic change of leadership that seemed habitual lately. After all, since he and Phrax had first met at the far border, there was another commanding the position of Alpha here. He could be smelled everywhere. And now, not only had they yet to meet an actual member of the pack, but another wolf had claimed leadership. It was possible that the male could have found himself a mate, but the nature of the call that he had heard told him otherwise. He had left the Toko land in the first place because of bad leadership. Perhaps he wouldn’t be here for very long after all.
He was jolted from his thoughts as a female seemed to materialize from a shadow a distance before him. He knew he had seen something! She held herself proud and tall and he was instantly taken aback by the amount of authority she projected. But even in her solid stance, beauty hung about her, like a light mist of fog surrounding her fur. Had O’Malley not been intimidated by her, he would have cast her a handsome smirk – but this was not the appropriate time for flirting, perhaps later. It took him a second look to realize that she was rather small, which completely caught him off guard. The way she walked and commanded her body, made her seem to reach to the skies with her height. But she was – again, he couldn’t believe it – rather small. His half-awed, half-intimidated gaze swept carefully from her vivid, yellow-green eyes and over he delicate female features. She reminded him of a swan, the way her body held grace in its fibers. The color of her fur reminded him of the Kumori lands in the fall, when the yellow grass gave into the coming chill of winter and wilted into its golden tan. After taking her all in with his one-eye gaze, O’Malley lowered his stance, bowing his head to show respect. It was obvious she was alphess. And although he still held his doubts, something about her told him that a leader had finally taken charge of the Toko land. His black maw opened slowly to speak his gentle greeting to her— -- but Phrax struck out first.
Instantly O’Malley flinched as she approached the alphess, Vanya, without permission. What was wrong with this chick? He could do nothing but watch (in what is most accurately described as horror) as Phrax spoke out with her whip-for-a-tongue. He shook his heavy head in disbelief as she spoke, her words were innocent enough, but that damn tone was going to get that smirk on her face physically ripped off. He jumped to his feet in shock as Phrax shocked Vanya with her tail. No matter how harmless the small spark would be, she was still the alphess! O’Malley could care less (he told himself) about what happened to Phrax as far as acceptance was concerned, but what he feared was that he would be affiliated with this crazy female!
”I am not with her!” he lifted a paw to point at the fushia-Phrax, his tone on the edge of frantic that he would be chased away along with his ‘companion’.
He flinched again, but at his own words this time. He hadn’t given Vanya any answers about himself – which she had asked – but the black male thought it much more vital that the alphess knew that he and this ‘in-your-face’ female were not affiliated with one another in any way other than mere traveling companions.

OOC - Just to avoid any misunderstanding, I talked with Fox/Phrax before writing this and she gave me permission for everything that happens here.

V A N Y A
- - - - - - - - - - The young femme waited a moment to see what these strangers had to say. She had been clear enough after all, and now she expected answers. The purple femme was the first to speak, and somehow it was rather difficult for Vanya to really believe a word of what she said. It was not that she believed that every wolf that crossed her lands was evil and dishonest, but the way she spoke … It just made it seem like this fae wasn’t taking things seriously. Even as she spoke of the possibility of finding a home within her pack, it seemed like she was just playing around. But more importantly, and what irked the young femme the most, was the fact that she seemed to be mocking her. This definitively irritated her; this female had no right at all to be mocking her and her leadership within the pack. And yet she was apparently doing it in such a carefree manner. For a moment she was tempted to teach her a thing or two about respect, but her rational mind kept her from doing so, seeing as she had yet to hear a response from the brute besides her. It was getting rather hard for her to keep her rising irritation at bay though, which was slowly turning into a repressed form of anger.
Her body language didn’t let out a thing of what was going through her mind though. Her posture remained the same, proud and confident as it should be, and her expression calm, almost indifferent, though a small frown was starting to open its way in it. Her eyes were the one thing that betrayed her almost perfect act; it was as if a fiery flame was burning in them, as if there was a time bomb waiting to explode in her very core, which was very close to what was going to happen if these loners managed to make her run out of patience.
She dismissed the irritation caused by the other female for a moment as her attention shifted to the male beside her; he seemed to be ready to talk at last. This didn’t last long tough, because a second later, before the brute could even utter a word, the purple female started to advance in her direction without further notice. And so Vanya’s gaze -or rather glare- was on her again. A glare that would have made any other sane wolf flinch and run away with their tails tucked between their legs; and yet this fae kept advancing. The younger femme just didn’t understand: what was she thinking? Was this a challenge? Whether it was or not, if she was seeking for trouble Vanya was more than willing to wreak hell upon her at this point, maybe that would teach her something. She decided against it though, she would instead humor her and see what was it that she could possibly want that required approaching without her approving of it, and thus going beyond what was considered to be acceptable. She would just stand and see; and just according to this idea, she didn’t move an inch, merely limiting herself to raise an eyebrow in what could have been a mix of amusement and disbelief at the other femme’s actions. One thing was for sure though, and that was that this stranger was playing with fire here, and she would soon get burnt if she didn’t stop.
Vanya observed her as she approached, her gaze hard and threatening as she watched her every move. She didn’t even stop when she was about to cross the boundaries of her personal space, which would have been beyond expectation for any other. Had this fae no shame at all? Didn’t she have any sense of self-preservation? … Well, apparently she didn’t. She just continued, invading her personal space, and getting closer and closer. A very unwise move on her part. Anyone with at least a bit of common sense would have known that doing this to any wolf, alpha or not, would have been potentially dangerous; and yet she kept going. The young femme felt her body tense. Had she been anyone else she probably would have already snapped at the offending female, but she kept her ground instead, summoning as much self-control into her being as she could.
At this point Vanya had just convinced herself that this femme was insane. Or maybe she was so stupid and naïve that she didn’t realize what she was doing, though this option seemed unlikely. This thought was reinforced when the other female actually brushed her fur against her own, her shoulder passing by her face. ‘What.the.heck!’, Vanya raised her head slightly, keeping an upper place even in this situation as she cast a side-glance at the other femme. Her body was tense, almost trembling as she resisted to urge to take a bite out of her because of her insolence as well as she could. Her plan of holding her composure was totally thrown away when the tip of the fae's tail reached her muzzle though. She could feel a tiny bit of electricity rush from the purple female’s body. It wasn’t nearly enough to be harmful but it certainly was enough to cause a bit of pain.
She never felt said pain though, because the moment she felt the slight numbness caused by the bolt, her own body reacted automatically, sending a small spark of her own to counter the offending incoming energy. That was it. She could just stand so much disrespect in such a small span of time, and this loner had just crossed the line.
It only took a second after that, everything happened so fast that one could have easily missed it if distracted. Vanya violently turned in the other femme’s direction, disregarding the male’s sudden words for now. A snarl was clear in her features and her coat suddenly lit up with electricity as she glared and the other femme, giving her a rather shimmering appearance. She would have none of this any longer. And so, with that light gesture the other femme was sent flying out of nowhere, slamming against the nearest tree, which wasn’t very far away considering they were in a forest. Vanya hadn’t even moved after turning over though, and even she had done so, she certainly did not possess the physical strength to send flying another wolf like that. So it was pretty obvious that her primary power, telekinesis, had kicked in. She normally did not use her ‘gifts’ much because she didn’t find the need to do so, but when she did it could be devastating. This had only been an anger-driven impulse, but she was sure that she had managed to measure the strength of the throw so the other female wouldn’t be seriously hurt.
She waited a moment for the dust and snow to clear up a bit before slowly approaching the place where the purple female had landed. Her coat was still shimmering with electricity, but for now she took no heed of it; it was just another anger-driven reaction of her body and it would eventually go away, or she would just suppress it later. Vanya walked slowly and silently, like a predator stalking it’s pray, the ebony brute from whom she had yet to listen a word forgotten for now. She stopped a few feet away from the other fae, not caring about personal space and things as such anymore. Her bright yellow-green eyes were fixated on her, though her gaze was dark and threatening, as if daring her to do something else as she looked down at her. She did not regret her actions, even if it had been a foolish impulse. The only thing that she regretted was not having been able to keep control over her emotions this time. This fae had crossed the line after all, and she had got what she deserved for it. Vanya may even have been a bit lenient on this aspect, because any other Alpha would have chastised her much earlier and in a much severe way for her lack of respect for their authority. Even now, she could continue in her attack if had wanted to, and she could have given her a permanent reminder of why one didn’t mess with the higher ranks … Or rather, why it wasn’t wise to mess with her. She decided to let things as they were though. There was no need to aggravate the situation any further, so she forced her fiery temper to subdue.
Vanya had yet to settle things with the fallen female, but before doing anything else she cast a glance to the black male to see if he was still where she had left him. She just needed to check: he could very well have fled while she wasn’t paying attention, or he could have been at her back ready to attack and defend his partner. She then remembered what he had said a moment before … That’s right, he had finally spoken. “You are not with her you say …”, she uttered absently as her attention turned back to the purple female, giving her an ominous and dark look. “… We'll discuss that later …”, she paused a moment then. “As for you, Phrax …”, she said seriously, her speech obviously directed at the purple female. “It would seem that you choose who do you mess with quite poorly", she said coldly. "It would be wise of you to know your place when you’re threading through someone else’s land, especially if you wish to find a home in it and be accepted as you said ... Had I been someone else you probably would be dead by now because of your disrespectful display. I do not support unnecessary bloodshed though, so I will give you a chance to explain yourself and amend your actions instead. Use it wisely”. Her attention snapped back the brute then. Her anger was slowly dissipating now, though it was still obvious in the sharpness of her words and her fiery gaze. The soft glow of her coat had ceased too, and her angry expression was turning into a more relaxed and serious one again. “Now, I do believe I asked something … So if you will, I would like to have an answer”. She tried to sound a bit nicer when talking to him; after all he had done nothing wrong. It had been his companion that had caused all this ruckus, and Vanya was not one to judge a group for the actions of a lone individual, so she would not cast on him the responsibility for the other fae’s actions.

The crazed eyes had calmed a little now but she was clearly somewhat hysterical. Phrax rose slowly onto her paws and stood, not still for she was rocking to and fro rather considerably. Her tails also waving nonsensically. She continued to smile, the crookedness still present but again less prominent. An element of sanity seemed to dwell in her minorly focused eyes. An almost pleasurable shiver runs its way across Phrax‘s body and she grins as a semi-loud crack of electricity discharges into the air.
“Bravo, bravo! Just what I blood well needed; A good kick up the arse. Now I know for sure that you‘re a truly excellent Alphess. Don‘t you just love the clouding mists that take over your reason when your mind has sprung of the spring and your left with fragments of what was your brain splattered across the inner walls of your skull? … ‘shishishi” =)
Yes she was still a little barmy and yes there was still an undertone of very gentle mockery whether it was intended or not, the latter the most likely of the two, but the damn fae was clicking into a whole new perspective. She kept her distance, not too far but far enough to avoid allowing her oozing crazy another chance to manifest. The fae was without doubt scraping the “brain fragments” off the wall once more with her trusty “thumbs not required Spatula” and once again trying to ram the pieces into places where they did not fit but held together in a way that could possibly be perceived as almost normal. … If read upside-down… Or if you were blind. But yes, it was now certain. The bitch had seized the loony by the lead and without the added insanity Phrax was simply that little bit worse than your average pain in the butt.

O’Malley’s eyes widened as he watched everything in slow motion. It all happened in less than a heartbeat, he was sure, but the tension and anxiety of the situation (caused by the ever-so-lovely Phrax) magically slowed down time for him. He watched, powerless to stop Phrax, as her tail flicked off of Vanya. And out of no where, he saw the small muscles in the alphess’ face tense and Phrax’s body…how would he describe it? Fly? Shoot? O’Malley had never seen the likes of it before, but he had heard of it. Telekinesis: Alphess Vanya had it, and she had used it on Phrax. He gulped quietly as he watched the magenta body of the strange female ‘fly’ through the air – still in slow motion. O’Malley flinched violently as she hit the ground. As soon as the thud of her impact reached his ears, time resumed as normal. For a mere moment, he glanced back at Vanya with his one eye, a hint of worry mixed with skepticism lingering on his features. Phrax had definitely been asking for something, but he wasn’t quite sure if that display of power was necessary. He supposed that for a new leader, it was needed to throw their power around a bit, to make sure everyone knew that they were boss…but she could have really hurt Phrax, or anyone else in that position. The glance of his one eye narrowed as he looked back to where Phrax lay.
He didn’t see what he expected to. O’Malley would have guessed that anyone would lay still for at least a few moments before rising again, even if they had learned their lesson. Not Phrax. She gathered herself on her paws right away, slightly shocking him. Then again, she was quite an odd one, and nothing she did should ever shock him because he is by now quite used to being shocked by her. He thought an act of coming to her side to comfort her would be necessary (as it would be for any other female for that matter) but as he was only halfway between sitting and standing, Phrax’s mouth had opened and he let his rump sink back to the ground. The slight uncertainty he had felt toward Vanya before dissipated, and her rash act of lashing out at Phrax was quickly forgiven in his mind. He supposed that this hot-headed alphess was exactly what Phrax required in order for her to learn some discipline…and the appearance of ‘sane-ness’. His unscarred eye rolled in a casual ‘here-she-goes-again’ manner as he brought his chest down to the ground and crossed his paws beneath his chin. O’Malley wasn’t quite sure how long Phrax intended to gab at the Alphess Vanya, and he also wasn’t sure how long Alphess Vanya would put up with it. He supposed he could be here awhile, and that was perfectly fine with him. O’Malley shifted his black form more to his side, in a much more relaxed position.
His ears straightened to attention as Vanya addressed him as well, but he didn’t bring his body up from it’s relaxed position. His one brow curved slightly in uncertainty, O’Malley would be more than willing to explain why he had come here and what his ‘business’ here was, but he wasn’t entirely sure if he should speak first. After all, Vanya had addressed Phrax as well, and he didn’t want to reawaken what he had seen as quite a short fuse because he caused Phrax to delay her reply by giving his own. His maroon-tipped tail flicked behind him in thought. Then again, perhaps Alphess Vanya had heard enough out of Phrax – with as looney as she was – and was seeking a brighter, more intelligent form of conversation. He wiped a smug grin from his face before it even got there as he switched his paws beneath him and dipped his rounded ears close to his skull to show that he did have respect for her.
”Alphess Vanya, I have traveled from the distant border of the Kumori Plains to join this pack. And before you inquire, I am sorry to say that I know nothing of this new brute who calls the freelands his own, I crossed these borders before that instance occurred. I will apologize for both” he shot a quick glance at Phrax before continuing ”of us for ‘trespassing’ onto your lands. But in our defense we were here before the Toko Forest had become your lands.” His whiskers twitched as he wasn’t quite sure how much she expected him to say. He could tell her that he was once a member of this pack, some years ago, and that he had left after the tryant alpha gave him the brutal scar across his blind, right eye…but O’Malley thought that really it was none of her business. His ears started to relax a bit, and resume their natural tall position upon his skull, when he quickly pinned them back down; he had forgot to tell her one thing…
”I am Steel, Alphess Vanya, and that lovely, loon over there is Phrax.”
Ah, sorry about the wait guys, dontcha hate when reality nips ya in the behind? Well hopefully the beginning doesn’t seem too aloof, I didn’t really feel the grove of O’Malley until about half-way through.
