Sway felt rather annoyed at this femme for her lack of respect. Sure, they were all loners, but that didn't mean she shouldn't respect us. She kept her cool, though, as she looked kindly at the femme and smiled.
"If you don't recall, Sphinx and I have introduced ourselves already. Now, if you would be so kind, what is your name? From where do you hail? Sphinx and I come from a place long away that I have long since forgotten." She smiled at the femme as she said this.
Sphinx stood back and looked at the small group they had formed. Things got off to a rough start... maybe things could be mended with some kind words?
"Sorry if we in any way offended you. We're loners here just as you are. We all got off on the wrong paw... Start over?" He smiled at them all and looked to Sway to see how she reacted to this. Sway smiled and nodded, agreeing that it was a good idea.
Sphinx looked to Obsidian and the other femme for their thoughts on his idea. Sphinx thought it was a rather good idea to start over where they had begun, without the sudden crashing in of snow and bodies.
Sway sat calmly and looked to the femme, kindness shining within her facial features. She didn't want things to end badly... and she didn't like it when things were going in a negative direction, so she hoped things would work out and that they could start over on the right paw instead of the wrong one.
The air was still and silent as they looked from one to the next. No wind.. no animals.. just the sound of silence.

The female flicked her ears slightly with the sound of Sway’s words. ‘ a place long away that I have long since forgotten’ ? She had to refrain herself, with a great internal struggle, from rolling her eyes…how cliché. But something told her that the couple before her was full of cliché moments, she was reminded again of how the male (Sphinx was it?) had introduced themselves. ’I am this one’s lover’ please! She gagged mentally at the gooey, love-mush that seemed to spew from the couple’s closeness. But it was her own opinion, she was never really one for romance of any sort.
Sphinx’s comment caught her nearly off guard…nearly but not quite. Hadn’t he already apologized in the event that he offended her? No matter, his last statement had given her the perfect chance to submit one of her traditional snappy remarks.
She brought her now clean paw down from her face and looked directly at Sphinx eyebrows half-cocked in an amused manner. ”Sorry to disappoint but I don’t have a right paw.” She stood to her feet and trotted rather proudly to Obsidian’s side. ”The name’s Kay, keep it at that.” She turned back to Sphinx but still stood at Obsidian’s flank, a mischievous smile curving her bang-covered face. ”I am this one’s acquaintance.” [/blockquote]

Obsidian stared at the wolf and found it more than difficult to prevent himself from laughing. The utter sarcasm that this femme flaunted was even more potent than his own, he felt almost challenged but he did not feel insulted by it. "Kay..." he thought. "A very fascinating wolf..." he played through in his mind. If there was anything that Obsidian did agree with, it was about the relationship between Sphinx and Sway. As soon as he had met them, he felt overwhelmed by their 'lovey dovey romance' that seemed to blaze from them like the corona of a star. Being that he was gay, it constantly reminded Obsidian of how alone he actually was, and how hopeless the idea of finding an actual male wolf who was the same sexuality as he was.
"It is nice to meet you, Kay." Obsidian said, almost dumbfounded by her actions and sarcasm. While part of him wanted to just burst out laughing, Obsidian's other half restrained himself and remained the almost cold-eyed wolf that he always was.
"Nice to know I'm not the only fiery one here.....I think now I may have some competition." the fiery wolf muttered as he glanced at Kay while wearing a slight smirk on his face, hoping to show her that he was decently sarcastic as well.
Finally, Obsidian turned to Sway and Sphinx, expecting something to come from their maw.

Sway held her composure as Kay had addressed them. She knew that she was mocking Sphinx when she spoke, which bothered her. They hadn't done anything wrong, why should they be punished or poked fun at. She could sense both of their emotions and she didn't like them very much.
"Obsidian, go ahead and laugh, I know you want to. Of course, you of all creatures should know that having yourself poked fun at is not pleasant, am I right? And Kay, nice to meet you fully, but honestly, this is no way to make friends, as I'm sure you, from the looks of it, don't have many of." Her voice was calm and collected, yet curt. She wasn't going to allow them to walk all over either of them, not again. She had had enough of that in her old homelands and she wasn't about to let that happen again.
Sway looked to Kay, then to Obsidian, before she rested her eyes on Sphinx, whom she knew would have something to say about this.
"You dare mock me, or Sway, what gull!"
Sphinx growled slightly and flexed his muscles in a mock fighting stance. He didn't feel to playful anymore, nor did he feel very happy about the rudeness that this Kay way showing toward Sway and himself.
"We are all loners here, what makes you think that you can show this kind of rudeness toward anyone?"
Sway knew that he would be upset with what was said and that he would confront them somehow, she only hoped that things wouldn't get too hostile. After all, the life of a loner was hostile enough without the adding of other hostilities that could be avoided. She remained quiet and looked quickly back to Kay and Obsidian.

Kay looked to Obsidain…he was getting too comfortable with her. And she had a nasty habit of making people being more…’uncomfortable’ with her. It was how she dealt with people, and she had scars to prove it. Without warning she pushed herself from him, shoving him slightly in an unneeded manner. Kay didn’t like closeness…it bothered her. So naturally she wasn’t irked at the least with what defensive snaps Sway and Sphinx held. She was merely poking fun, not insults. People who took things too closely to heart and got angry about it deserved to get angry about it. It wasn’t her problem they couldn’t take a joke.
She looked directly at Sphinx, his last comment echoing in her head. Well duh, wasn’t the answer obvious? She wasn’t bound by any rules, so basically, yeah, she could show this kind of ‘rudeness’ (if that’s what they thought of it then fine, but she was just poking humor) to anyone she pleased. She smiled at him, not mischievously, not slyly, not sneeringly, she just smiled. ”Because I’m a loner.”
It was true, she had no friends…Sway’s words hurt as Kay fully absorbed them. But the hurt didn’t linger, it never did. It quickly turned into anger, but she never showed anger, and she didn’t so much as feel it as it actually was inside her. She hated anger inside of her…
But she held the same air and feel as before. Kay always carried herself the same; shoulders back, head held proud (especially when she was not). She always held the feel of calm assertiveness. Kay never projected her anger, at least not to others. No, she always found ways to project it upon herself later.
Unfortunately, the anger that Sphinx was emitting, whether he realized it or not, was beginning to overwhelm her. Kay held no powers of the mind to sense other’s feelings or hear their thoughts in any way, but it was natural, to all creatures, that when one of their accompanied projects a bad air, the surrounding begin to mimic the bad example. Now Kay had no problem with fights, and certainly no problem whipping flaunting males into their place, but something made her stop her snappy words in her throat, words that would have most definitely created grudges and even feuds. She didn’t blame herself for the now tense situation, no it was most definitely the other’s fault for overreacting, (Obsidian’s for thinking that she had ‘taken his side’ and flaunted it, Sway’s for not being able to take a small joke of sarcasm, and Sphinx’s for having such a ridiculously short fuse…no, it wasn’t her fault), but even as it wasn’t her fault, Kay felt as if she were the only one who could resolve it. Sway was too defensive, Obsidian was too proud, and Sphinx was too hot-headed…that left her…gods she hated being the responsible one!
Even though she held the urge to leap upon Sphinx and put him in his place, Kay sat calmly down, shoulders back and head held proud. She placed her paws calmly before her. Her posture was perfect, and she knew it. Sitting calmly signified that she meant no aggression to anyone, it was the language of the wolf after all.
”Cool your jets, desert-head,” Hopefully poking fun at the origin of Sphinx’s name would ease the tension, but who knew, with these short tempers, one of them just might explode. ”Anger’s contagious, and considering I haven’t had my vaccination, please keep it to yourself.” She turned to Sway, expression calm as when she spoke with Sphinx, calm…and assertive. ’ this is no way to make friends, as I'm sure you, from the looks of it, don't have many of’ Kay wanted so badly to snap ‘well where are yours?’ right back, but she still held her calm air and feel. ”I never really did, so you’re accurate on that mark.” And finally she turned to Obsidian. Thinking for a moment, Kay considered how much fun it might have been to actually take his side and bully the couple in the most fun way that would be not-fun for them… But she slid the thought aside. ”You!” She snapped sternfully, like a mother scolding a pup. ”Be nice.” She flashed a smile at him and winked so only he could see, knowing he would catch her ‘motherly’ sarcasm. A sly stare smeared across Obsidian's face as he listened Sway's words regarding his emotions. If there was anything that made his blood boil, it was the sensation of someone else probing his emotions and revealing them to everybody rudely.
"Be lucky I kept my mouth shut. Ever hear of the words, 'If you sense emotions you don't like, then don't sense at all.' I'm not trying to be rude to you my kind wolf, but I find it very disrespectful to dig into someone's thoughts and surface the inner most feelings in front of everybody else. Since I respect you as a fellow empath, I would not do the same to you. I was not trying to disrespect you, I was laughing at the fact that Kay was feeling a few similar emotions that I had been feeling." The fiery wolf paused a moment until he thought of another thing to say, "You should consider what other wolves around you are feeling. I respect the fact that you and Sphinx are in a beautiful blossoming relationship, but you have to remember that there are others who have not gotten to experience such things----and probably will never get to feel such things." Obsidian lowered his head as he pondered about his hopeless sexuality in the world of Aelyn and how it would not get him anywhere with what he wanted most----love. Any wolf who knew of how he really felt deep down, they'd find him to be a sickening abomination to the world. With great composure Obsidian then turned his gaze back onto Kay, hoping to rid his mind of the downing thought of never being able to experience what Sway and Sphinx had.
"I can sense your emotions and feelings just as well as Sway can, be lucky I do not surface yours. I know you are trying to find a flaw in all of us----but in all honesty, every wolf has a flaw, nobody is perfect." Obsidian smiled as he gazed at Kay, "And now I almost feel like your pup. It is mating season my dear wolf, if you want to mother pups so badly you should go find a mate if you want to feel that type of dominance." Obsidian winked as he chuckled a bit, hoping to show Kay that he too was joking sarcastically.

Sway flicked her tail as she listened to Kay and to Obsidian. Yes, she knew she was joking, but it still hurt. She had dealt with things like that all her life, with her parents demeaning her in every way they could, she didn't show it often, but it bothered her to no end when others did such things to her.
She looked to Obsidian and corrected him. "I'll have you know, I am not the one who has shown such affection... or have you not noticed? If you haven't, I've been trying to be discreet, so don't pin it on me." This always irked her when others said that they didn't like the closeness they shared. It wasn't her fault that Sphinx wanted to show their affection for each other. She liked to show affection as well, but that didn't mean that she would do it in front of everyone... she felt that affection should be kept private, aside from the nice peck here or there... nothing that would disgust others.
She chuckled slightly at Kay's comment to Sphinx's name and looked to Sphinx for his reply.
Sphinx looked to Kay and snapped back, though back in his playful manner again. "At least I can say my full name out loud, Kay, maybe I should just call you Z from now on." He smirked at her as he said this as his glowing dimmed and he relaxed.
Sway let out a air of relief as she realized tensions were lifting.

Kay’s ears pinned back with all of their snappy comments. It wasn’t the fact that she couldn’t take a joke, it wasn’t that at all, and even though both Obsidian and Sphinx insulted her, she could honestly care less, no, the reason her ears were pinned flat was simple… …they all needed better jokes…
The thought irked her...how could some even think that what came out of their maw could be considered 'funny'? Kay wondered sometimes if she was the only one that truly understood the concept of making others laugh. But at least she had accomplished what she wanted, tensions were lifting because of her humor and words. She flicked her ears back once more. All of this started because she had to open her mouth and others couldn't take her jokes. Why did she even bother opening her mouth at all at times? Kay didn't know. He mouth always seemed to get her into trouble. Subconciously she rubbed her left wrist with her right paw, tracing the three-star design on the arm ban that she always wore. But she quickly snapped herself out of the past, it was the past, nothing could be done about it now.
'Well, now what?' she thought to herself. Kay had a feeling that if she cracked another joke, someone was bound to get the wrong idea. She could make fun of herself...that always seemed to make other's feel better. Her ears flicked once again as a quip came to mind.
Kay stood, her tan tail with the black tip upon the end wagging lightly behind her as she walked forward to the indent of snow she created with her fall. She looked around to all that seemed to circle her; Sphinx, Sway, and Obsidian. "Well I suppose you've all had your fill of me..." She smirked slightly and looked up to the broken branches that were also courtesy of her. "But I doubt I'm leavin' the way I came."

Obsidian shook his smokey main as he felt Kay's emotions. He was relieved to know that she wasn't angry with them regarding things----it was true, he was not always that good at making jokes. Sarcasm yes, but often jokes seemed to escape him unless he was in a definite joking mood. There was something that fascinated him by this wolf. To him, she seemed so restricted within herself.
"You don't have to leave us, Kay. Why don't you tell us a bit more about yourself? Where are you from?" Obsidian asked in a polite manner.
The smokey wolf inched his way between Sphinx and Sway without thinking, knowing that if he tried to be positive about things, that Kay may feel like she fits in a bit more with the group of loners.

Eyes watched them for a few moments. So the one without wings was called Kay. What were the others called. Chevara had watched for long enough. She flicked her tails and padded into the open, head held high and tails erect.
"Yes, Kay, please tell us more about yourself. Where do you hail from? What are you doing on the Nigori Marshlands."[/b] There was a slight pause as Chevara's cool voice floated around them. She flicked her tails again as she looked at the other three wolves.
"As for you three, names please? I think it kind to introduce yourselves... after all, you tread upon claimed lands. Same questions go for you guys."[/b] Chevara looked around the group of wolves. Kerrigan should be joining her soon, though she could handle things without him. She watched the loners closely, waiting... almost daring... one of them to make a false move. Her tails flicked idly behind her as she gazed around the circle.
--------------------------------------------
Sway could sense the emotions of Chevara even before she had approached. She turned to face the rather large femme. Her emotions were complacent, almost as if she were not caring or showing any. That had to be some talent for a wolf to be able to conceal emotions that well. This intrigued Sway as she watched the femme. She had got caught in the silvery orbs that were similar to her own, though only silver. This femme had no pupils, no iris', exactly like Sphinx and herself. She turned to Sphinx and opened her thoughts.
Do you see her eyes? They're just like ours... no pupils. She's the Alphess of these lands, though I'm sure you already caught that. She hides her emotions well, I can't pick up on them. This unnerved Sway as she had always been able to pick up on the emotions of others... it was both a blessing and a curse. She experienced the emotions herself, something that was both good and bad, and she could alter emotions, though she tried to stay away from that most days, what with free will and all.
Sway flicked her tail and nodded to Chevara. "I'm Sway. A mere loner who has traveled far. I did not mean to trespass." She nodded courteously toward Chevara, showing her respect for the femme.
She glanced at Sphinx, wondering if he were to reply soon.

Sphinx was wondering what the alphess of these lands was thinking, but dared not try to read her thoughts. That was something that Sphinx tried not to do to those that he respected or felt that he should respect. Even though it was something that he did frequently with Sway, to keep others away from there words they didn't want known, yet. This alphess, Chevara, commanded to know who was on her land. This was to be aspected from one in a leadership role, so Sphinx promptly answered the questioned presented to him.
"I am Sphinx, also another loner, well.... sort of. I travel with Sway, she is my mate. I have also come from a far away land."
Sphinx wasn't sure if this answered the alphess, but he was sure if it didn't, that she would surely tell him. Sphinx waited, paying almost all of his attention on the alphess, but still keeping a link of thoughts with Sway.

Kay’s ears flicked with the smooth sound of another from the shadows. Right off the bat, she decided that she wasn’t too fond of this dark female. She looked the new one up and down, admiring her scruffy appearance, but not admitting it to herself. Wings…Kay had to physically refrain herself from rolling her eyes. But the feature she found most queer about this dark one was her rear hind…more specifically, the three tails that flicked behind her. Now what could possibly be the purpose for that? Kay flicked her own tail with the thought. One was good enough for balance and the sharing of emotions and feelings, so what would the extra two be useful for? Her ears flicked again as the others, Sway and Sphinx, replied right away.
Kay didn’t want them to speak, she didn’t want to give this dark female who held herself so much higher than the rest of them, considering herself better, to get what she wanted. But she also knew their reasons for speaking. This female stated that the lands were claimed, and by the way she carried her arrogant-acting self and the fact that she had another nearly upon her heals, it seemed safe to assume that she was a higher ranking member, if not the alpha, of whatever pack settled in the Marshlands.
Kay’s ears flicked again with her annoyed thoughts. She never had cared much for authority. She wouldn’t respond, though snappy quips were just begging to fly from her quick-witted maw. Kay kept her mouth shut, with some physical effort noticeable. She looked away, looking to Obsidian. It didn’t show, but she was quite curious to what he would say. [/blockquote]

Obsidian stared at Chevara's dark for and coudln't help but to admire her appearence. Despite her very rigid personality, Obsidian realized that she was probably a higher ranking wolf in the packlands. Obsidian knew that he should be respectful, but he didn't want Chevara to believe him to be a push-over. He knew he had to be established logically in a manner that would make Chevara respect him as well.
"I am Obsidian. I too was not on the intent of trespassing. In fact we find this land quite fascinating. We have no ill intents despite the fact that we are loners." Obsidian explained in a calm yet respectful manner.
The fiery wolf glanced back at Kay, who was the only wolf remaining who had to introduce herself to Chevara. Part of Obsidian knew what was going through Kay's mind, yet he was anxious to see what she'd actually say.

Sway watched the others speak... all except for Kay. This made her question the loner femme's intentions and her reasonings for doing such a thing. Surely she realized this was the Alphess of these lands? Sway watched Kay carefully as Chevara began to speak once more.
------------------------
Chevara looked at each in turn as they spoke. Her eyes rested upon Kay, for she was the only one not to speak. She turned her head to look at the other wolves, though her eyes lingered on the plain femme for a moment longer.
"Your intentions may not have been to trespass, but you are. I'm sure you picked up the scent of marked territory when you tread upon these lands, did you not? Wouldn't you think it polite to seek out the Alphess of the lands before lingering for so long upon them?"[/b] She looked from Sway to Sphinx to Obsidian only to finally rest her eyes on Kay. Her voice was cool and calm as her face still shown no expression.
"And as for you... you have yet to speak your name. Are you a mute? Deaf? I know you hear me and I know that you are neither of the previously mentioned, so why is it that you hold your tongue? Don't you know that it is respectful to answer one of a higher rank when spoken to? Surely you've learned something to that matter on your travels as a loner?"[/b] She looked at Kay for a time, waiting for her to reply. Her words weren't meant to be disrespectful, though the way they were worded would be taken that way. Her voice held an air of calm, yet dominant vocal arrangements. She waited patiently for the femme to reply.

Such disrespect toward the alphess. Was Kay asking for a death sentence or just pausing to think of a way to tick off the alphess. And this other male wolf behind the alphess, who was he supposed to be. Who ever he was, he looked like he was trying to hard to hold something back. Sphinx wanted to know almost so badly as to use he's own ability to read others minds, but this was something that he seldom did, because it can be rude to know others thoughts and not tell them you've read their mind. But that was also a gift in itself, being able to know thoughs without others knowing. It gave Sphinx great advantages when he needed it. The alphess seemed to be handling herself well enough, but also holding something back. This intringed Sphinx as well, again to the point of wanting to read her mind to find out what. But in the end, the only one Sphinx felt completely comfortable with reading minds with was Sway. This was how they communicated, most of the time. Now, time to answer the alphess' question.
"I didn't mean to tresspass on your lands. There were things that needed to be dealt with among those standing here, even though I'm not sure if they were totally resolved."
This all sounded so vague coming from Sphinx, even though that's how he talked a lot of the time.
"I'm sure that we can get to the bottom of everything that is going on right now, even the stuff that no one is saying aloud."
This might have been stepping out of line by saying that, but how everyone was acting, there was more going on then was on the surface. And Sphinx was eager to find out what.

”No, you’re right,” the tan Kay spoke suddenly, directing the alphess in a rather matter-of-factly mocking tone. ”I’m not deaf, and certain as shit not mute,” she smiled cockily, ”I can yelp, howl, speak, and swear better than both you pack-wolves combined. I’ll tell you why I hold my tongue, ‘cause I can, that’s why! Silence is as much of a freedom as speaking is, and nothin’s gonna take it from me. That, Miss Chevara, is what I have most certainly learned from life as a loner.” She looked to the loners around her, all three of them, maybe they’d learn something. ”You there,” she turned to the accomplice of the alphess, the packwolf who’d yet to speak. ”Aren’t there things held on your tongue that you’d much rather voice openly? Well, what’s stopping you?” She looked to the alphess accusingly. ”oh…that’s right…”
Kay smirked smugly, not that she didn’t know exactly how the alphess would take it, oh, she knew, she just didn’t care. The hierarchy of the pack was a terrible thing. Rules were meant to be broken, and the only reason there’s authority above you is so you can point out its flaws. It was always meant, since the history of time, that those below should serve those above, Kay was in the middle, and she served no one and expected no one to serve her.

Obsidian chuckled mentally to himself as he listened to Kay talk down to Chevara. Sometimes he wished he had the guts to do that to an alpha----usually without the aspect of pissing off the specific wolf. Despite the amusement he was getting out of this, Obsidian had no intentions of saying anything more----the last thing he wanted to do was agitate the current situation. One thing did almost force him to speak though----it was Sphinx's fascinating choice of words. He could feel that Sphinx though he spoke that way most of the time but the only way Obsidian was used to seeing was the 'in your face' type of attitude from Sphinx. So to him it was very fascinating.
While the interesting conversations continued between the alphess and the others, Obsidian decided to crouch his legs and sit down----finding a lot of entertainment from his fellow wolves.
