Obsidian rolled his eyes as Lucid and Nynx both left his presence, realizing that they were wolves just like any other----avoiding him and leaving him alone. He stared off into the distance, wondering whether he should just stay in the spot, or move on to a different place. Innerly, he was very conflicted about his next move. As much as he wanted to be in with a pack, he want to be alone just as much. Obsidian could not help but to feel negative vibes from Lucid----he seemed so dark, even darker than him which he found amazing. Despite that, he did find Lucid to be VERY good looking but naturally he would not inform the dark wolf of that specific fact. He came to a decision after shortly thinking about lucid's amazing appearence and decided to remain the spot----hoping that either he or some other wolf would return to find him there.

Stillness encompassed both of them as they padded quietly, side by side. Their darkened appearance hardly contrasted with the murky and dark surroundings of the marshlands as Sway and Sphinx padded towards the scent they had caught. It was another brute wolf... a loner from what they could gather. Sway felt a lonely factor emitting from him, which, in turn, made her feel lonely, though she had Sphinx right by her side. She sighed to herself as they trekked onward through the dense and frozen marsh.
Sphinx paused. "What's wrong?" Having heard Sway sigh usually meant something. Whether it was good or bad was yet unclear. And he wasn't going to read her mind to find the answer, he'd known her to long to disrespect her like that.
Sway paused herself and looked lovingly at Sphinx. "Oh, this brute we're tracking... he has a very lonely nature... its almost depressing." She flicked her tail and padded onward, leading the way toward the brute now. "I'll be okay, honey. Just give me some time to shield myself from him." She took a deep breath, in through her nose and out through her mouth, and sighed. "There, that's better." She smiled. She raised her head and continued to smile as she padded onward.
"We're almost to him, he's just up ahead." She said to Sphinx. She kissed him lightly on the cheek in a rather playful manner and continued padding onward.
Smoke seemed to be rising from just ahead as Sway and Sphinx came upon Obsidian. Sway approached calmly as she quietly, as to not startle him, said "Hello. My name is Sway. What might your name be? We mean you no harm." She smiled kindly as she gestured toward Sphinx, who had come up behind her shortly after Sway greeted Obsidian.

Yeah, so the Marshlands were claimed…but she didn’t care. As far as she saw it, she wasn’t causing any harm, so what reason did the alpha have for holding a grudge to her? Trespassing…well these lands had been trespassed on before hadn’t they? And right now, excluding her, weren’t they being trespassed on right now? All sorts of animals, besides the alpha, lived here, so in a sense, all of these animals were trespassing, after all, she was sure that they didn’t ask the alpha for permission to tred the Marshlands, so why should she?
A slim, tan form trodded through the snow, despite how deep it continually grew to be. It just wouldn’t stop snowing, and it wasn’t that light snow that was accustomed to plains, no, this snow was thick and sticky, and she soon found herself winded. It wasn’t that she was out of physical shape, nor was it costume of her to become winded so easily, but the thick, sticky snow that stuck to her fur weighed her down as well as caught on the remainder of the snow that she tried to walk through. The whole situation made her feel as if she were being pulled down and back. But hey, she was by far used to things pulling her back and forcing her down.
The young female looked around, searching for something to get her out of the nuisance-snow. A large tree, its size godlike compared the trees buried in snow around it, promised a small refuge. So she struggled through the deep snow to the tree. It’s enormous roots had grown too big for the ground below it and bulged through the surface, acting as large stairs and walkways, twice the size of even a bear. And the best part was, that the roots were barren of snow and ice. The large branches above, equal to the roots in size and girth, provided a cover for which to block the snow from the roots. But even though she had found an escape from means that held her down, no smile of satisfaction curved her frozen lips.
She leaped gracefully from root to root until she met the base of the tree, and it too was enormous. The tan female sat, much like the manner of a cat, upon one of the smaller roots, only about as thick as her own body. She looked up to the dark canopy of the tree above her, then down to the whitened ground below, not really searching for anything. This female was never one to sit and do just nothing, so to occupy both her mind and her body she began grooming the snow that clung to her fur and waited for the heavy snow showers to cease so that she may continue her travels.

Obsidian's ears perked as he heard the voice of Sway echoing beyond his smokey mane. He could sense two wolves approaching him and he quickly rose to his feet and tried to be respectful toward the two wolves. Despite the fact that Obsidian was excited to meet these two wolves, he was extremely nervous at the same time. Not really knowing what to expect from them even though the words of Sway seemed to be kind-hearted toward him.
"I am Obsidian, I'm....I guess a loner wolf." he whispdered while trying not to appear stupid. Obsidian was a proficient speaker when it came to other wolves or other creatures----however during circumstances where his loneliness bothered him, he found it even more difficult to address the situation.
"Are you guys members of this packland?" he then asked curiously.

Sway smiled at Obsidian in encouragement as he answered her question.
"Oh, this is Sphinx, by the way." She gestured to her partner as she gave him a loving gaze. She then tore her eyes away from her lover and looked back to Obsidian.
"No, we're not a part of this pack. We're both loners as well." Sphinx said as he looked Obsidian up and down, taking in his features and observing his posture and his persona.
Sway smiled at Obsidian and added "What brings you to these lands? Surely you must come from somewhere else? You seem so.. oh what's the word... lost, maybe? That's not quite the word I was going for, but I think you get the idea." She laughed at this as she tried to make the brute feel a little more at ease with their presence.
Poor thing, he's so alone. He's very nervous too, honey. Sway thought this in her mind, giving the subtle hint that was only known between them to allow him to know that she was speaking to him by her thoughts. He could, after all, read thoughts and send thoughts telepathically, so of course she would use this to allow him to know she was thinking something to him. Her eyes and expression, however, never left Obsidian, so any traces would be nearly impossible to find.
Is he now? was all that he telekinetically thought. He grinned at Obsidian, his pearly white canines standing out against his midnight black fur.
"Are you without a single friend out here?" He grinned and added in a manner that was open for suggestive purposes, though is heart remained true to Sway "I can be your friend..." He grinned at him and waited for his reaction.
Sway giggled slightly, but quickly regained her composure before waiting for Obsidian to reply.

The tan female stopped her personal grooming. Her laidback ears suddenly rose and seemed to pull her head up in the process. Voices in the distance, were there? She looked back down to the thick snow and frowned slightly. She had already trod through it once, and resented the idea of trodding through it once more. And so, quickly accepting the fact that the voices would only be discovered if she trod through the snow, the tan female decided that she simply would have to live without discovering their source. But oh, how little did she know herself.
Not only a minute had passed before her curiosity had grabbed hold of her and shook her violently (so to speak). She stood in a hasteful manner and began pacing the length of the large root, hurriedly looking for a place of little snow where she could walk. Finding none, she growled silently, cursing the damn winter brought onto the marshlands. Her bushy tail flicked and for some odd reason, her attention was drawn skyward. Too bad wings were not part of her makeup, and then flying would be a simple way to reach whatever corners of the land that she wished.
She growled once more and plopped dramatically down onto the root where she lay. The gears ticking in her head brought about other means of reaching them; she could howl, that would certainly grab all’s attention, but outgoing means of catching attention did not become of her, she was more of the unnoticeable breed (by her choice of course). Another idea was to simply trod through the snow, but the only reason she gave to not do that was stubbornly because she didn’t want to. Then, suddenly she stood, and whirled to look at the enormous trunk of the swamp tree. Could she, perhaps, climb?

Obsidian rolled his eyes as he could sense the meaning behind Sphinx's words. Of course he had heard jokes like this before, other wolves pretending to be gay just to get him excited----however it was just an intent on making him feel even more alone. Deep down Obsidian knew that Sphinx didn't necessarily mean it offensively, but he also knew that he would not stand for actions like that.
"I assure you my dear, that I am not lost. I am quite familiar with these lands because I travel them all the time. I'm just looking for a group of wolves to be with because I'm sick of being a loner constantly. It would be nice receiving the chance to be with another wolf." Obsidian sighed as he stared at the ground nervously.
Obsidian turned his gaze toward Sphinx and smiled.
"I would advise against tempting me....I tend to be quite fiery if you know what I mean."Obsidian winked.

Sway laughed as Obsidian mistook her term she used for "lost".
"Oh, I didn't mean in the literal sense! I meant you seem as if you're lost within yourself... not the literal sense 'I don't know where I am' lost. Inner battles and conflicts were my meaning." She smiled kindly at him as she looked to Sphinx and shook her head slightly.
"You don't have to be in a pack to be without company, Obsidian. Sometimes friends are all someone needs. Sphinx and I were thinking about joining a pack, but we haven't decided yet. It might be easier to stay loners. You're welcome to join us if you wish." She smiled at him again.
Sphinx listened momentarily while Sway talked to Obsidian. He nodded to Sway, knowing she was referring to their relationship.
Sphinx smirked as he looked at Obsidian.
"Maybe I like fiery!" Sphinx said as he replied to Obsidian's comment. He stepped a pawstep closer to him.
Sway giggled as she touched her paw to Sphinx's to allow him to know that she loved him, but that he might be being a little too outward with Obsidian.
Sphinx looked to Sway quickly and smiled, his eyes full of undying love for his partner, best friend and lover. He nodded to her and padded to her. He nuzzled her lovingly on her neck to show his affection for her and to show that he understood. He gazed into her eyes again and smiled.
Turning back to Obsidian, Sphinx waited for him to reply to both his and Sway's words.

From above, snow and deceased leaves fell from the sky. The branches overhead shook as an odd form struggled to regain it’s balance. Whatever it was strained its hearing to the point where it was leaning nearly completely off of the branch that it was perched upon. Damnable trees! They were too high!
Only Hell knows how the tan female managed herself to the canopy directly above the troop of wanderers, but indeed she did. The tan leaned dangerously over the balance point of the branch that she struggled to keep her footing upon, trying desperately to hear what the three travelers had to say without confronting them directly. Most likely there were just a group of rogues, out to make trouble for themselves. It was times like this that she wished she had such abilities as to spit fire or make herself invisible. But alas, she did not, and so she struggled to keep herself from being seen. But being off-balance in a trees’ canopy in the middle of winter can only keep one unnoticed for so long, that is, until that one slips and finally looses their footing completely. And so she did, and she did it by leaning much to far forward in her quest to discover exactly what the three below were speaking of.
She gave a yelp as she lost the ‘ground’ beneath her feet, eyes watering, and fur ruffling from the cold air that whipped past her as she fell. With a rather loud thud, and a very large explosion of snow, the tan loner landed in the dead center of the three wolves and disappeared beneath the deep snow that had acted as her pillow.

Obsidian rolled his eyes and the fire in them seemed to grow brighter as he stared at Sphinx with a demeaning glance. Of all the wolves...he did not expect this one to tempt him so.
"Becareful....you can be burned by the fire." Obsidian gibed as he turned and concentrated on Sway instead, knowing that she at least would not tempt him.
Suddenly, Obsidian's smokey mane flared out as the wolf howled due to being startled by the object that landed in the snow between the wolves. He leapt backward and nearly ran into a tree as he gasped.
"What in the sam-hell!?" Obsidian hollered as he cleared his vision of snow. The dark wolf of brimstone shook his fur and let all of the snow whip around him. Anger boiled in his eyes, if there was anything Obsidian hated, it was being startled like that.

Sway shook her head at Sphinx and looked at Obsidian. She was about to say something when the sky began to fall.
"What on Earth was that?" Sway asked, half laughing as she gasped. She looked up to where the tree limb was still shaking. She hadn't even noticed the snow that had gathered upon her fur. Taking notice of it, she sighed and shook her fur off.
Sphinx, slightly startled, looked at the newfound hole in the snow. He went to peer over it, when a large clump of snow from the trees above fell directly onto his head, knocking him face first into the growing heap of snow.
Sway began to laugh hysterically as she saw the whole entourage happen. She looked to Obsidian as she fell to her side, laughing at the site. She hadn't laughed this hard in a while and she was loving it!
She caught her breath before she stood up and shoved snow away from where Sphinx lay buried. "Sphinx, honey, you okay?" She suppressed a giggle.
"Oh yeah, just perfect." Sphinx replied sarcastically as he stood and shook the snow from his fur and his face. He looked at Sway, who was snickering in an attempt to avoid laughing.
"Oh you might as well let it out!" Sphinx sighed to her.
At this, Sway burst into another fit of laughter. She wanted to go check the spot where the... thing... fell, but she couldn't. She was laughing way too hard.

((whoa guys, didn’t even see this ‘till today))
A snow white form peered suddenly through the gap. The shape was vague, but seemed to slightly resemble the head, neck and chest…of a canine. The snow statue stood perfectly still in its erect position, and just as one might lean it to see what was to happen next, two black tipped ears flicked forward, discarding the snow that covered the moments before. Just as the ears uncovered, two brown eyes opened through the snow in a very comic-like manner.
Just as the snow covered, once tan female felt the urge to shake the heaviness from her form, he eyes lay upon the object to her front. A black male stared vividly at her, his eyes burning might wildly with anger. Anger before had brought bad experiences upon her, and she still held the scars to prove it. So naturally, she couldn’t help shrinking back down into the hole slightly with the male’s violent gaze. Not even hearing the laughter of the other fae behind her, her dull eyes never left his angered ones. [/blockquote]

Obsidian sighed and calmed down after a few seconds. The innocent fear the wolf displayed seemed to soften his mood enough to forgive the startling. Slowly, the dark wolf moved toward her and leaned down, catching a closer glimpse of her face. The snow piled all over her body and he could not help but to feel sorry for her. Between another male wolf flirting with him, and being startled by some uknown femme, Obsidian felt as though his day was just going to get better. *sarcasm*
"Are you okay....what is your name?" Obsidian questioned under his breath as he scanned the wolf, then turning back to shoot a glance at Sway and Sphinx.
With respect, Obsidian brushed some of the snow off from her body, and used the heat emitted from his body to warm the frigid form. Obsidian also did so in order to ensure that he did not mean any violence toward the quivering wolf.

Sway finally caught her breath as she slowly got up off of the ground and shook the remaining snow from her fur. She flicked her ears as she padded to the heap of snow that had moved. She picked out a set of wolf ears, concluding her idea that yes, this was a wolf... and from her emotions that Sway was picking up, she was scared.
Poor thing... Sway thought sadly as she padded to the front of her and gave her a warming and welcoming smile.
"Hello. My name is Sway. Who might you be?" Sway's voice was calm and coaxing to the femme to try to get her to relax and not be so afraid.
Sphinx sighed as Sway finished her laughing fit and padded to the other side of her, where he was always most comfortable at. He looked to the frightened fae and read Sway's mind after she gave him the unnoticeable signal.
"Greetings. You may call me Sphinx. I am this ones lover." He nodded lovingly toward Sway as he said this last part.
Sway smiled at Sphinx in a quick glance before turning her attention back to the fallen femme. She waited calmly for the femme to reply. She began to think that all these faces staring at her would cause some alarm or a sense of being uncomfortable for the fallen femme, so she turned to the two brutes beside her.
"Take a step back you guys, let her have some room to breathe." Sway coaxed as she gave them both looks that meant it was for the comfort of the new wolf.
Sphinx nodded as he took a few pawsteps back.

Shrinking before them was a natural reaction to her circumstances, and she regretted having it. It showed her weakness and fear to complete strangers; it revealed her past and her present state of mind. She wanted no one to know anything about her. And now she had revealed a flaw, a major portion of her past, and even who she was with one natural reaction. Immediately she regained herself. The kindness shown from them was a wasted effort. Once the black male before her spoke, her eyes narrowed in distrusting suspicion and her black-tipped harks rotated to the side. She would show no more weakness to these strangers.
”I’m fine,” she somewhat snapped, then shook the snow from her fur rather violently, and also purposely flinging it onto the angry-nice male in front of her. She looked away from him immediately before he could look back at her through his snow-covered face. She looked the other two up and down cautiously. …lovers…feh! How cliché… ”And rather open, I might add.” She snorted in a discreet, impolite manner. What pair goes about to every being they meet, announcing that they are lovers? The thought made her turn away from them and roll her eyes so they could not see.
She flicked her tail towards the black male whom she had graced with snow and pawed her way out of the pit her body had created from the fall. She sharply sucked in air between clenched fangs as her front right paw shook painfully beneath her weight. But she didn’t limp as she walked. She wouldn’t show weakness.

Obsidian wore a slight smirk on his face as he felt the emotions of the femme. His anger had simmered into a slight tenseness in the eyes as he scanned her from head to tail, attempting to assess if she had any wounds or not. Obsidian could feel that she did not wish to be addressed as an 'injured wolf', a trait the he found in himself very often in which he found quite ironic. He also felt the femme's sickedness toward Sphinx and Sway's closeness with one and other. After all, love was something that escaped Obsidian's grasp at every turn----he was so different from other wolves, and not many sought the love that he sought, reminding him of how alone he actually was.
"Well now that we know you are okay...what is your name?" Obsidian said politely as he melted some snow off from the femme's fur. With all his might, the dark wolf tried his hardest to be presentable and caring toward this new stranger.

Sway looked at Sphinx. "You know, many people don't want to hear things like that. I'm sure she could tell that by just looking at us." Sway sighed as she looked back to the femme. She had told Sphinx this many times before.
"I'm sorry for his openness... Where do you come from?" She was trying to make friends with this femme. She could feel her emotions as well and wasn't about to find a way to insult her, though with her luck, she would find that way anyway.
Sphinx looked at Sway and smiled. "Well, it's the truth." He then flicked his tail and turned to the femme. "Okay, I'm sorry if I offended you. Forgive me?" He looked at her with kindness in his eyes.
Sway sat down calmly in front of the femme. There were several emotions emitting from all the wolves around her, but she could easily tell whose was whose. Obsidian was lonely and sad because he had not yet found love, this new femme was angry because she didn't want to be addressed as a weak wolf.
She sat there, waiting for the femme to reply. "If you wish for us to leave you alone, just let me know... I was just trying to be of assistance... not because I think you're incapable of doing things on your own, but because you caught me by surprise and it is within my nature too try to help others, no matter who they might be." She smiled at her kindly.

The tan female flicked the tip of her tail, much in the manner of an annoyed feline, at the question that the dark male insisted on asking. Twice now, was it? What was her name? Her tail flicked lightly once more as she smiled almost slyly at him. ”Well wouldn’t it be more polite to introduce yourself before asking me to do the same?” Her smile widened slightly and her tail flicked once more. She turned to the female who also seemed persistent on knowing more. ”Same goes for you.”
She turned to the open-mouthed male, the other’s mate. Gods, they were all speaking to her at once! She couldn’t help back away from all of them with a few small steps. ”There’s nothing to forgive.” She sat once more and brought her left paw up and began cleaning the underside of it, much in the manner of a feline.

Obsidian's eyes widened as he listened to the femme's somewhat rude response to his question and he glanced at Sway as if something just came and slapped him in the face. Deep down, something about this new wolf boiled his blood more than the fire that heated his body. He could sense this wolf's caution and intent as he gazed into her eyes. Knowing that Sway possessed the same ability he imagined that she could feel what she was feeling as well.
"Well forgive me for not abiding to your ideals....it's not like I've met you before, my dear." Obsidian flicked his tail as he rolled his eyes and tried not to appear too rude to the new wolf. Instead he gave in and decided to heed her wishes.
"My name is Obsidian...I'm a loner wolf. And your name is?" He asked politely yet with a bit of scorn in his voice.
While awaiting an answer, Obsidian turned and shot another glance at Sway and Sphinx, expecting them to say something.
