Karin Little Karin sneaked her way threw the many trees. She was so tiny most wouldn't even notice her. She didn't much mind this fact though. Her sleek black fur was ruffled from her long trek threw the pokey bushes. The bright blue of her eyes shown like tiny stars against her fur.
Karin glanced around as she padded at the ground with her front paws. After running threwout Aelyn for a few weeks, she had found herself lost in the middle of a forest. She wasn't the best with directions and had lost the route she had come from originally. Sighing quite audibly to herself, she sat down at the base of a nearby tree.
What was she supposed to do now? She could continue to run about this forest and get lost, or she could just sit there and wait for another wolf to stop by and spot her. With her poor luck, no one would come by and she was still continue to be lost. She wasn't even sure if she was within a pack's land. She would be rather pleased with herself if she had managed that.
A soft growl protruded from her small stomach. Karin frowned and laid down. She could go hunting if she wanted... but that would mean moving from this spot that she had hoped someone would find her in. She glanced around and felt her nose sniffing wildly. So there was prey nearby. She stood up and lowered herself toward the ground as she continued to fallow the scent. It was a small animal, but that woud be perfect for her. She was, after all, about the size of a little bush near the opening of the forest.
Karin stopped quickly. Her bright baby blues caught sight of a small little rodent near the base of a tree. She pounced quickly. Her small form flew threw the air like a little cloud in a quick breeze. She landed on the little rodent and sunk her teeth into it with ease. She smiled to herself and sat down under the tree. She dropped the dead animal at her paws and licked her maw.
"Perfect!" She muttered to herself with delight. Her voice was high pitched, but soft all the same. It matched perfectly with her size.

Corrinth was running through the woods, for he was on the hunt. Nothing was really making itself known, even with Corrinth running slightly stealthily. Then out to the side he heard the wind break under a birds wings, followed shortly by a sharp high-pitched, "Perfect" Was there a new loner wandering throught the forest. Corrinth slowed until he stopped, then opened his sences to focus on energy in the area. This was something that Corrinth rarely did, because it gave away every living things' presence away, and he enjoyed hunting skillfully. But when Corrinth used this ability, he could sence a very small pup, and she had just snuffed out the life energy of an equally sized rodent. Corrinth simply walked over to the place the pup was and sat next to her.
"Hello little one, it is nice to see that you can hunt for youself, but how is it that you have come to these lands all by yourself?"
Corrinth waited silently for a reply, thinking to himself how such a small pup could have gotten this far into the forest without getting hurt or detected.

Weylyn had been watching the pup from a slight distance, as he was ever so protective of young youth. She caught her meal well and he smiled to himself, glad to know she could fend for herself, though he didn't know how well she'd fare against any other wolf that might try to harm her.
This was when Corrinth stepped in. Would he treat her the same that he treated him? Scar her like he scarred him? She had hunted on lands before making her presence known to the pack. Sure, this was a pup, but surely you couldn't show favoritism for that? It's considered unfair and unruly. She obviously know's how to hunt and she obviously could smell the scent of packlands. She surely wasn't that inept?
Weylyn padded forward, knowing that Corrinth would have already detected his presence. He smiled lovingly at the pup as he sat down on the other side of her. He was in his wolf form, and he had layed on his stomach to get eye level with the pup.
"You're quite the good hunter, aren't you?" He smiled at her. ((Posting Order: Karin Corrinth Weylyn Any objections?))

The muscles in Karin's body tightened quickly as she heard another wolf walk toward her. Her bright blue eyes shot up and immediately widened at the size of this new wolf. She could tell that he was an alpha, which meant that she was in pack lands. And that she was intruding. Swallowing hard, she spoke softly, "My, uhm, parents were killed. I've been on my own for, uhm, awhile now."
She stood up but slinked back into the tree behind her. Her baby blues widened even more as she watched another wolf protrude from the forest. She wasn't to sure whether to think she was going to be okay, or whether they were going to hurt her. They were close or even more than double her size. She was sure they could kick her right out of there in no time. And being who she was, she wouldn't disobey at all.
As she looked at both of the male wolves in front of her, Karin sighed softly as the other spoke to her. If it wasn't obvious, she hadn't had much experience with other wolves. She nodded her head and muttered, "Yes, I guess."
She glanced down at the dead animal and waited for thier next move. She had, after all, taken food from their lands and now she just wanted to get out of there. Karin would be more than willing to give them the rodent at her paws.

There was stillness that no one could ignore in the forest. Weylyn had just walked up to the pup that had just hunted in the forest, and she wasn't part of the pack. Weylyn had already been made an example as to how Corrinth felt about this, and he wasn't about to treat a pup any differently, as age meant little to Corrinth. Ignorance wasn't something that Corrinth was fond of either, and since she had truly overstepped the bounds of the pack lands, the mark of the traitor of the forest would be dealt to her the same as Weylyn. But Corrinth wouldn't just attack someone with out any kind of warning, so he'd have to explain. But first, Corrinth turned to greet Weylyn.
"Hello, Weylyn. It's a pleasant surprise to see you here. I can see in your eyes, you know what must me done."
And with no further time to spare, Corrinth turned to the pup, and spoke to her, with all the command an alpha held.
"You have crossed the boundaries of the forest young one, and you are by no measure, above to law of the forest and it's pack. You have also hunted in the forest without permission, and without making your presence known the me, the alpha of the forest. So, if you know what's best, you will except the mark I'm about to give you."
Corrinth then sent the same exact firebolt at the same exact place on her head. And if she knew best, she would take the punishment.

Weylyn, feeling compassion for the pup, knew what Corrinth was about to do before he even spoke to the pup about it. Granted, at first, Weylyn wanted to have the pup have the same punishment that he had, but he felt compassion for the pup and wouldn't allow her to stand such a mark upon her young frame. Surely she didn't know any better? Her parents were killed. She'd been through enough.
Moments after Corrinth began to speak, Weylyn had already decided what he was going to do. It was just a matter of... was he quick enough? The time was near... Corrinth would be ready to mark her soon... so Weylyn had no time to spare but to leap and hope he caught the fireball for her. He would deal with the repercussions later.
"Corrinth. I'm sure you're not happy with my choice to retain the mark instead of her. But hear me out. I wish to bear the burden of the mark for her. Please do not force her into this. I accept her punishment. I accept responsibility for her hunting upon the lands and even for her if that's what you so wish of me. Please, spare her the mark that you have given me." Weylyn looked at Corrinth, almost pleadingly. He would do whatever it took to protect the pup from Corrinth's mark of a traitor.
Weylyn held his posture proud, though it wasn't arrogant. It was more or less a statement that he was serious about his plea and that he was more than willing to protect the pup with his life if it came to it.

Karin stood there speechless. The way this alpha was carrying himself... it scared her utterly. She bent on her front paws and nudged the dead rodent with her nose toward the alpha, while he spoke to the wolf named Weylyn. She could tell only to well what was about to happen. This alpha was stern and took his control to heart. She had hunted on lands that she rightfully didn't belong on. Her head shot up right as he began to talk to her again. Swallowing hard, she took in what he was saying. Mark? Why would he give her a mark? She had no clue she was on pack lands and she had no clue that he was the alpha of these pack lands. At least at first she didn't.
Her heart pounded loudly in her small chest as she watched the firebolt come toward her. Little Karin, being scared out of her mind, shot a gust of wind toward the firebolt, praying that it would shoot it off course. Pain was not something she enjoyed. She tucked her head to her side and coward to the best of her ability. That was when she felt the soft rush of wind hit her fur. Her tiny heart skipped a beat as she looked up and saw Weylyn standing in front of her. Karin's jaw opened slightly as she leaned over just enough to look beside him and at the alpha.
Why would someone do something like that for me? And why is he taking all the blame for me? She thought to herself as she tried to retain everything Weylyn was saying. He didn't even know her, and yet he was going to take her punishment for her. Why would he even bother? No one ever bothered to help her, and yet here Weylyn was, blocking her from an alpha nonetheless.
What would the alpha do now? Karin couldn't just let him hurt Weylyn for her disobedience. It wasn't right, morally and ethically. However, she couldn't get her voice to work. Every time she tried to speak, it caught in her throat. A few tears rolled from her eyes as she looked at Weylyn's back. She didn't know how to thank him. In fact, she thought that words wouldn't even be enough to thank him.

Weylyn clearly did not know this loner, nor did her owe her any loyalty. Still he took the mark that was meant for him. This was very forward of him and not to mention disrespectful toward the alphan authority. And with many thoughts racing through Corrinth's mind all at once, he paused subtly and thought more clearly on the matter. Weylyn was protecting a pup that he had never met before this very moment, and even praised her for the skillful hunting. Then took a mark not meant for him, and now he carried two marks of being a traitor to the lands instead of one, like he was supposed to. He had only betrayed the lands once, but the jester of taking the loners mark for her had meaning behind it.
"Weylyn? I don't fully understand yet why you would take a loners punishment, but I am thanking you in this instance for doing so. You have proved to me that you are no traitor to these lands and that you are also a loyal member of the pack. So I shall have to have a friend of mine remove those marks from you and restore you to how you once were."
Corrinth was thinking to himself now. He was sure that this would make both of them look at him strangely, but surprises come when you least expect them to. Now to seek out his friend to heal them. But Corrinth would wait around to see things through.

Weylyn, wondering what was going through both the pup's mind and his alpha's mind, waited in silent thoughts. Was he making the biggest mistake of his life? Or would he be recognized for his efforts? Or will Corrinth, alpha of the Forest, ban him from his newly found pack and thus force him away from Snowdrift and away from his newfound home? Weylyn could only begin to guess.
The pup, sounding completely silent and at loss for words (It was noticeable for him, though he wasn't sure if it was as noticeable for Corrinth) and this made Weylyn want to check up on her, but he couldn't break his gaze with Corrinth.
Corrinth spoke, and what he said next nearly left Weylyn himself speechless. Weylyn looked at Corrinth and nodded, unsure of what else to do. His mind was blank for words and his thoughts were racing.
"Thank you Corrinth. Do you still plan on marking this pup? I'll take full responsibility of her keeping and her management until such a time she is fully fit to fend for herself. Please do not punish her in her search for even a decent meal. Didn't you notice? She even offered it to you in order to show she was sorry. Let her eat, please.. not a command, but merely a request. She's scared and afraid and alone and I would be honored to take her under my paw and adopt her as my own if that's what it takes. Please, I know you have the compassion and love inside you to take into consideration my wishes. Please consider my words." He looked pleadingly at Corrinth.
Weylyn always had a soft spot for pups and he was more than willing to stick up for this one, even at the cost of his removal from the pack or even his life. He hated seeing harm or anything negative happening to the youth and future of packs, and this pup was no exception.

Silently, Karin peaked around Weylyn and at Corrinth. Complete awe was shown in her baby blues as she looked between them. So the Alpha was actually seeing him as a loyal pack member? And, he was going to have him healed from the marks? That was awesome! She smiled to herself softly as Corrinth's words traveled threw her mind. He didn't seem much like a bad Alpha... He was just intimidating. Very, very, intimidating.
Karin looked up at Weylyn as he spoke, her mouth agape. She swallowed lightly and cowered as her stomach growled softly. Crap, she thought. She looked down at the dead rodent, and then back up at Weylyn as he asked if she could eat. She didn't understand why he was doing all of this for her. He was even willing to take her in and look after her until she could properly look after herself.
Her head tilted to the side in a cautious manner. She had taken care of herself for some time, but it would be nice to actually be taken care of properly. She stood up and quietly walked under Weylyn's stomach. She looked at Corrinth threw Weylyn's front legs. Her eyes were filled with emotions. She was sure he would sense them as soon as he looked at her. She was nervous, scared, sorry, and some what happy.
Corrinth's change in mood seemed to lighten the tension a bit. For her at least. Karin's dark head peaked up at the bottom of Weylyn's maw. Would he really take her in? She would surely behave and do as she was told. She wouldn't want any pain to come to her, or him for that matter. She owed him so much now. As she looked up at him, she muttered softly, "Th-thank you." Her voice was soft, barely over a whisper, but the tone was high enough that it would have hit his ears.

Weylyn was acting very bold. Corrinth only felt understanding for Weylyn, and even more so for the pup. Corrinth would not harm the pup, even though he thought that the pup could clearly handle herself and also had a clear view of life. But at the very least Corrinth would help the pup out for the time being, she seemed to be scare out of her mind.
"No, Weylyn, I have no intention of harming the pup. In fact, I did notice her offer her meal to me, and that was one of the small deciding factors that I will allow here to stay in the pack, if she so wishes. But if she does decide to stay, you will become the Gamma of the pack and watch over any pups that come to this pack.
Corrinth felt easy going at the time and sorry for the small amount that the pup was trying to call food.
"Little one, you will tell me your name, and then we will help you get something better to eat. And as I offered, you may stay as a member of the pack, if you wish to."
This would be interesting to explain to the rest of the pack, the first pup in the pack wouldn't be from Corrinth's line.

Weylyn looked at Corrinth and then glanced to Karin at her words. His eyes held kindness and a twinkle of amusement and perhaps even love as he gave her a reassuring smile. He was such a sucker for pups.
Then Corrinth began to speak. He wasn't going to hurt the pup, so Weylyn was glad for that. Weylyn loved the idea that the pup would be taken care of and that she would have a home.
Corrinth's next words caught Weylyn off guard a little bit. Gamma? Of the packlands? What an honor... especially from a former "traitor". Weylyn glanced at Karin and then looked directly back at Corrinth.
"I would be more than honored to be Gamma. You're sure about this, yes? And may I ask.. why do you so choose to make a former traitor the Gamma of your pack? What makes you feel I am qualified for the position? Merely questions that I have. In no way am I questioning you, I am just curious to know why you chose to give me this honor." He nodded kindly and respectfully toward Corrinth and waited for whatever was to happen next.

Karin glanced at her paws as she dragged the tip of one of them threw the dirt nervously. Her baby blue eyes raised to Corrinth as he spoke to Weylyn. Her lips curled into a happy smile as he said that he wasn't going to hurt her. She looked up at Weylyn and smiled back at him. She was going to do whatever it took to keep him happy. She owed him quite a bit. He should take Gamma. He would be excellent!
As soon as Corrinth addressed her, Karin became quite a bit nervous again. "My name is Karin... but my father used to call me Rinny." She swallowed hard at the thought of her father. He meant so much to her and then he just left her. She shook the thought from her mind. She knew she had to accept the fact that her parents were gone, and joining this pack would be a great step.
"May I really stay? I mean.. I would really like to stay." She looked up at Weylyn quickly and continued speaking, "May I stay with you?" [/b] Her eyes widened at what she said. "I'm sorry. I don't want to intrude in your life. Or be pushy, for that matter. I'm sorry." A soft sigh escaped her tiny lips. [/blockquote]

In only a few moments, Corrinth had made a lot of changes to the pack. Weylyn would very soon be the Gamma, and Karin would become a member of the pack. But the questions asked of Corrinth needed addressing. First Weylyn, then turning to Weylyn answered.
"It is because of your compassion for this young one that I see now that you mean no harm to the pack or the lands. That also, in my eyes, makes you exetremely qualified to do the task of being my Gamma."
Then turning to Karin, Corrinth spoke only to her.
"You say you desire to stay in the forest, then you shall stay as a member of the pack. May I be the first to welcome you to the forest pack, young Karin. You have no further need to fear me, or any other member of this pack, you are now apart of our family."
Taking a step back, to more clearly see both of them at the same time, Corrinth spoke to them both.
"Would you join me in a hunt? Karin looks very hungry, and I too could use a little to eat."

Weylyn looked at the pup at her question and smiled. She was very adorable and Weylyn had basically fallen in love with her... in a fatherly way of course. He smiled kindly down at her, a twinkle in his eyes and replied to her rapid questions.
"You're more than welcome to stay with me, should the Alpha, Corrinth permit it. I have no issues or problems with it." He grinned at her again before turning to Corrinth, who had begun to speak.
Weylyn listened to his words and felt a sense of pride well within him. He was very fond of pups and he was loyal... despite his previous act of hunting the lands before talking to the alpha. Curse his stomach! He laughed to himself, not audibly, and nodded respectfully to Corrinth. "I fully accept your offer then and I would be more than honored to be the Gamma of the Toko Forest Pack. Thank you." He bowed his head once more in respect before replying to Corrinth's later question.
His stomach growled right on cue. He sheepishly grinned and laughed slightly at the timing of his hunger. "A hunt sounds great to me. How old are you, Karin? You're quite the good hunter, you know." He turned back to Corrinth and flicked his tail calmly and absentmindedly. "I would love and be honored to hunt with my Alpha." He nodded his head respectfully before waiting for the next to speak. Karin grinned happily to herself. Her small paws hit the ground with a soft dud as she bounced quietly with excitement. She had a place to stay now and a pack to belong too. It was perfect!
As soon as Weylyn asked her how old she was, she cocked her head to the side and wiggled her nose in thought. Karin shrugged lightly as she spoke, "Uhm... A few months.. almost a year I think. I've been on my own for about a month now I think... So I had to fend for myself." She smiled sheepishly at him before looking at Corrinth.
Her paws hit thudded against the ground as she jumped toward Corrinth. "Thank you so much!" [/color] Her bright blue eyes glistened with glee as she looked up at him. She quickly turned to look at Weylyn before speaking, "Where to?"[/blockquote]
