The green side of the gentle giant slowly rose, up and down, gently. Asleep. It had been quite a long time since he had slept soundly, after all. The sun beat gently down upon his green figure, which blended into the grasses quite well, all but the tangle of vines and rosebuds crushing several tufts of unruly summer grass. The scents of wildflower pollen and damp soil had calmed Melee's senses in a most amazing manner, and for the first time in a while, he had sank into a deep slumber. He had been asleep for at least several hours now.
A light breeze gently ruffled the large male's thick, soft fur. Crimson eyes opened sleepily, surveying the lands around their owner through the blades of grass. With a sigh that seemed to create a gentle hum within the warm air, Melee rose to his large paws and raised himself above the grasses to observe the lands around him with his mild, tranquil air. The scent of the roses, which had lessened in his sleep, returned, fresh and powerful. His olive paws began to carry their strange owner through the grasses and wildflowers with their typical serenity. The vines protruding from his rump twirled and spiralled, in constant, dizzying motion, wrapping and roiling about one another and creating a fierce tangle of thorns and rosebuds.
Melee was quite something to watch as he strolled across the Kumori Plains so calmly. His elevated stature certainly made him look as though he was some kind of important, even here, and the strange features that he encompassed made him appear an impressive mystery.
The male paused, eyes locked upon the grass a few feet away. A small rabbit sat there, frozen, amazed at the scent of the roses. Another of their impressive powers - the power to attract female prey. But Melee, though not having had a meal in a while, did not have the heart to kill any creature that gazed at him in that gentle manner.
"Shoo," he said gently, his deep voice resounding sweetly into the air as he pressed a red talon gently against the rabbit's side. Starting - as if just now realizing what this creature was - the rabbit took off, darting away into the tall grasses for cover. Melee stood still, looking after it regretfully. The rabbit had been the first company he had had in quite some time, and truth be told, he liked being around other wolves. The impressive wolf eased his haunches to the earth and lowered his elegant skull to the assortment of flowers before him, inhaling deeply with closed eyes.
These plains were the most comfortable of places. Why, he could surely make a life here, pack or no pack. He would have the company of the flowers, if nothing else.

She had sensed the presence of another being... not of this Earth, so to speak. Sure, he tread the lands and was seemingly a part of the Earth itself, but he wasn't like the other wolves in the lands, much like Angel herself. This is what had sparked her interest. This is why she was looking across the plains in search of this mysterious brute. He seemed to be almost as mysterious as herself, for she was that of the Ancestors themselves, an Ancestral sent Angel... literally.
The wind had caressed her beyond pure fur, gently setting the soft strands into a gentle motion with the wind. She loved the wind, for it was peaceful and, although you couldn't see it, you could feel it and feeling was what she did most often... she felt life, she felt death, hatred and love... all of it, all the time.
Her wings were folded gently to her sides as she padded through the tall grasses of the planes. She knew exactly where the brute was and was heading straight toward him. Finally catching his scent.. beautiful as roses... she padded forward and stood feet from him, looking at him with wide, ever-changing blue eyes. She had never seen another wolf like him.. he was purely unique in every way, with the scent of roses about him and the aura of life. This was unique and slightly odd to Angel, for she hadn't met another being that was so like her, yet so different.
"Greetings, Melee. I couldn't help but realize you are not exactly like the other wolves here. From where do you hail and what is your purpose?" Sure she knew the answers already, mostly, but she always liked to hear it from the party she happened to be speaking to. She always wanted to give them a chance to speak, to say something for themselves, and for her to seem as if she didn't already know everything about them.. their past, their thoughts... everything.
She waited calmly, sitting down as she did so, watching the brute with her pools of blue. [/blockquote]

Melee raised his head carefully, drawing his overlarge canines into his mouth, hidden slightly by his lower lip. The female that had greeted him.. her voice was as pure and magical as those rarely met females who guarded the Misted Dew in Kanama, the water guardians. His red eyes scrolled across her angelic body curiously. How was it that she had come to know his name already? He had not shared this with her, as of yet, but not matter. He straightened up, gazing into her spectacular blue eyes with his rose-red ones.
"No, ma'am. You are quite correct. I am not like the other wolves in these lands - I hail from the realm of Kanama, from the Earthen Clan. I am one of the final guardians of the Earthen Orb, held now by a friend and colleague in its protection." He paused, melodic voice falling away gently, tails unwinding into three seperate vines for once, standing straight up and curving gently away from his body mass, finally still. "I come to these lands of the mortal wolven to seek love, with which I may finally allow these cursed rosebuds to open and view the sun for the first time." He gazed upon the female as his lovely speech faded away upon the summer breeze.
"I see that you are unlike the wolves here as well, friend. From where do you come, if I may ask, and what is your calling?" His ears pricked with interest, watching her carefully. His lush forest fur ruffled gently in the breeze as he awaited the seraph-like wolf's answers.

Angel held her head in a delicate angle and gazed at the brute calmly. "My calling is Angel. I have been since the Ancestors themselves, treading the lands, the skies and the waters of Earth in my mission to bring peace and well-being to any and all lands so the Earth may live in harmony and peace for the rest of it's time. My goal is to bring peace between packs, harmony in the balance of predator and prey, and hope to those who have lost everything. I am merely an agent who lives to protect and serve Earth and the Ancestors in this goal that seems nearly impossible." Angel smiled at the brute after saying this. She paused for a moment before continuing.
"I lay hidden in all realms of the world, guarding and guiding those whom seek my help. I appear only when a great event that could change the very way of life as we know it is about to happen or plans to happen. I don't interfere with fate or with what the Ancestors have planned, but only guide those and try to convince others to walk a more peaceful path. That is my purpose." She flicked her tail as she finished and sat calmly, resting her large golden wings to her sides.
The wind blew, caressing her pure angelic fur and setting it into a flurry of gentle waves of motion. [/blockquote]

Melee blinked, great red eyes blank. So Angel.. she really was an angel? And there was something in the female's voice that he believed without a doubt. She told only the truth. Maybe, due to being a higher creature, she was incapable of lies, even. He lowered his fine head in a delicate bow, sliding down upon his crimson pads to show his respect for her duties and diligence. Pulling himself back into an upright position, he watched the female with quiet reverence.
"Angel," he said, deep voice crooning to the grasses as the blowed gently towards him in the light wind, "am I to understand that you come to bring peace to these lands?" Melee's tails finally began to twist and turn again. They could never stay at ease for too long. "If this is your duty, I offer my full allegiance to you, for we are more of the same than any in these lands are to us." He tilted his head gently, eyes becoming more intense as he searched her ever-changing blue eyes for the answer.

Angel looked at the brute, glad to have another to aide her. It often got lonesome doing the job she did, all things considered. She wondered quietly to herself as to what the threat might be, though she couldn't be entirely sure. She could only have her guesses from her instincts, which, more often than not, were right. She looked deep into his rose colored eyes wit her pools of blue and sighed.
"Alas, I am not entirely sure what the threat may be, but the lands and the creatures within them have something about them. There are wolves here that have intentions beyond what would be peaceful, and this is why I am here to do my job." She paused, looking into the brutes eyes once more.
He had said he would help her in her mission, which was always great. "I appreciate your help, but don't think of it as an alleigence... think of it as a partnership, please. I would much rather treat those as equals, for I am no more special than any other creature upon these lands. I am no more or no less than those whom I work to guide. We are all equals." She bowed in respect to him, showing she was more than willing to treat others as she was treated, for she truly felt she shouldn't be treated any better... her life was just as important as any other life. "I do not interfere, for it is not my place, though whatever you feel you need to do, please do it, for I shall not wish for my actions and my ways to deter you from your natural way and the actions you would originally pursue." She smiled at him, showing her appreciation for his kind actions and his choice to aide her in her quest.[/blockquote]
