Synopsis Of Thread: A newcomer, Chevara, challenges Nynx for her title of ruler of Nigori. Nynx refuses to fight, making Chevara the winner by default. Kerrigan joins Chevara, attempting to woo her into being his mate. Chevara sternly declines the brash offer. |
The black femme padded through the dense undergrowth. She had a mission and her mission was one that would change the Marshlands forever. She padded onward, wings held tight and tails flowing behind her. She was silent as the grave as she neared the heart of the marshlands where she found the den area. "Nynx! Get out here! I wish to speak with you." She called out, her voice carrying out around the entire marshlands and quite possibly farther to the trained ear. She stood tall and... was it... dominant? Her tails were held high and her head was held dominant... almost as if she were going to... challenge... the Alpha. She padded and prowled around the den area, as if she had claimed it for herself. She had marked the territory as her own as she prowled the edges of the territory, getting a view of it for herself. "Nynx, I challenge you. Come out and play." She howled to the sky, her eerie song jittering through the lands. She looked around and waited for the femme Nynx to show herself.

The large female stalked into the clearing. She was being challenged and naturally she would accept it. She returned the howl with just as much vigour. "I accept your challenge." Nynx lowered her muzzle, growling, and trotted off to the challenger.
She found the female scent marking her den. Nynx bared her fangs as the anger welled up inside of her. "Ready to play?" Nynx taunted the strange female. Her tone was playful as she lifted her head, tail lifted in that dominant pose that clearly defined the Alphess.
Slowly, Nynx circled the fae. It was obvious to her that this was a match she could not win. She was an inexperienced Alpha and if she lost this fight, she would become the Gamma of the pack, or even worse; the Omega. She couldn't face that. Something clicked, and her expression faltered.
Nynx backed off, she had chosen to not spill blood. Simply, Nynx walked away. Good luck... You'll be an better Alpha. I want the Nigori marshlands to prosper. They won't prosper if I remain Alpha. and just like that, Nynx was no longer an Alpha. She was a loner.

Chevara sighed and flicked her tails.
"Is that all? Wow, you really aren't much of an alpha, are you? Well, no matter. I am now Alphess due to your forfeit. Have a nice life." Chevara smirked to herself as she padded around her new den. She was now Alphess and she could do what she wished. She looked around and made sure her scent was strong upon her new den and connected herself to the lands.
She felt foreign energies within her lands and she pin pointed the area of where these foreign energies that were not of her pack might be. She discovered them to be near her boundaries where four wolves were sitting, as if it didn't matter they were on her newly claimed land.
This sparked a thought in her mind. She had to call out her claim. She raised her maw to the sky and sang her song.
There is a new Alphess upon these Lurid Lands. The Nigori Marshlands have now been reclaimed by me, Chevara. Any and all who dare to trespass or tread my lands and attempt to harm me or my pack in any way shall reap the consequences. She finished her song and stood tall and proud, as an Alphess does.

he purred mentally, rising from the damp bed of moss. Slim, muscled legs stretched, muscles tensing and then relaxing. He took his time, until the echoes of the howl faded to a slight hum. He arrogantly angled his head and then raised his maw. A devilish cry broke the silence, full of amusement. I come now... it whispered about. He let it drop slowly and pricked his ears to listen to it. He smirked. Good. She knew he was here. He could set his sights on a new goal. This Chevara. Kerrigan shook out his midnight pelt, tail swishing int the wind. He pulled in the breeze, leather nostrils flaring. He caught her scent. Strong. A perfect Alphess strength made. With that, he leaped forward. His lightning squiggles rippled over his large muscles as he rolled over the marshy plains with ease. He'd 'lived' here for a bit. A short time in truth, but this land was well enough for him. His splashed into a deep puddle, crashing through the ice, the water arching about it. He grinned, sabers flashing, as he leaped up, not pausing to shake the freezing liquid from his pelt. And then he spotted her. Tail high, bearing erect. He snorted and stopped, flicking his tail almost as high as hers. He raised an eyebrow and let out a woof of arrogant greeting. He bowed, almost mockingly, to the new Alphess. He wanted this position, of alpha. And he'd get it. Mating her. Or taking over. Either way, it was in his favor. His lime eyes glinted as he scanned her form. Black...almost blue but not really. Wings...and three tails? Oh, that was intriguing. He raised his eyes to hers. "Greetings, new Alphess. Kerrigan at ye service, M'Lady," he drawled, flicking his large, fluffy ears forward to catch her answer. This may be interesting.[/ul][/blockquote]

Chevara heard the call of the brute and flicked her tails, waiting for him to approach her. When she finally saw him, she watched his movements carefully. He was cocky... she could see this. And arrogant.. very arrogant. His very movements showed her that he was into more than just joining her newly forming pack.
She continued to hold her head high as she looked at his bow, seemingly mocking her. She sneered at him and replied with no emotion on her face or in her voice.
"Hello, Kerrigan. I am Chevara." This was all she said. She would wait for him to make the first moves and make the conversation. She was always one who didn't give way to her own past or her thoughts easily and she wasn't about to do it with a wolf such as this. Especially one with other intentions.
She looked into his eyes, her silvery optics not wavering in his stare. Many thought her stare was creepy, having no pupils and no iris.. but she tended to ignore these wolves. If they couldn't handle it, then they shouldn't stare at her. Some even skipped over her eyes completely and looked at the scar that was over her left eye. This irritated her even more, though she never let on in any way, shape or form.
She continued to look at the brute, daring and waiting for him to make the next move. Her body was at a calm ease, though she could instantly be in a defense if anything should arise with this brute. She wasn't afraid to fight if it came down to that and she wouldn't be easy on her opponent, no matter how much they may beg for mercy.

he thought, shivering in delight. He clicked his fangs in answer to her reply, more a second greeting like the one he'd given Nynx the first time he'd meet her. And, where had that femme gone? He raised his muzzle to scent the air. He caught her scent and shrugged. To another pack it seemed. Pity. it took a long while to find another saber wolf like himself. He shook out his pelt, driving the crystal that had begun to form away from him. He turned his lime green eyes back to Chevara, meeting her silver eyes. Like melted metal... he thought in curiosity, blinking easily, not slightly creeped out; more intrigued than anything. His eyes moved away to scan her face. She had red, very interesting designs, like make-up, around her eyes, a scar that caught his eyes. He wondered how she got it. That had to be a story. Deep red; he had a feeling many stared at it. But he moved his eyes away with a will. With a snort he moved forward, pelt rippling. He stance was one of ease, more like a felines, always ready to shift into a crouch. He twitched his tail and came along side her. He flicked his ears forward and breathed in her scent. Hmmm....very strong. "Ah, tenshii, what a nice scent you have," he drawled, a wide grin making his teeth flash a brilliant white. He moved his eyes to hers and held them, lifting a large paw to touch on of her three... three! tails. "Hmmm...even stranger than a saber wolf," he mused aloud. He moved back and shook out his pelt. He sat down. "Pleasure to greet you Alphess Chevara. But, I'm sorry to say, but I want this pack," he said with a apologizing tone, shrugging his thick shoulders. His eyes glinted devilishly as he turned back to her. "What are you going to do about it?" he purred daringly, rising again, his lightning designs seemingly crackling along with his delight. Chevara looked at the brute and sneered. He was trying to take her newly founded pack lands away from her... or flirting... or a combination of both. It seemed as if he would do anything for the honor of the Alpha position. Chevara thought quickly, taking all options into her mind.
She growled deep in her throat when he touched one of her tails. How dare he touch her! He was acting as if he could do anything he wanted, even if she was the Alphess of these lands! Well, he'll soon be put right.
"Ahhh, so you want to be Alpha? Well, there are only two ways that you can achieve that. I'm sure I don't need to go into detail about it, now do I?" She looked at him with her silvery eyes and didn't show any emotion. She had become quite good at suppressing emotions in order to retain a somber or composed appearance, even if she was angry or upset or whatever other emotion that she felt at the time.
"What if I don't give up my Alphess position? What then shall you do?" She looked at him with no expression showing in her eyes or on her facial features. She wasn't going to give much away about herself to this brute who seemed to think that he could take over and claim an already claimed land.
Sure, she had just done that very thing, but Nynx was not fit to be an Alphess.... Chevara, on the other hand, was much more fit for the part and she wouldn't give it up that easily.

he purred huskily, lime green eyes hypnotic on hers. He did indeed like the idea. She would be a strong mother and the way she was built would indeed make an easy birth. And it would further his cause. But then again... "I could always kill thee, but I don't see either of us wanting that, eh?" he rumbled cheerfully. This was entertaining, playing word games was a specialty to those of dark blood. A few threats a bit of goading, smirks and purrs, love play that was more like hate play. How joyful![/ul][/blockquote]

Chevara sneered at him as he spoke, with each word her dislike for the brute growing. Her face, aside from her maw, remained expressionless, so one would think she smelled a bad smell, or something to that effect. She allowed him to finish his words before she spoke. At least one of them would show proper courtesy. She wouldn't... stoop... to his level.
"How dare you bequest or say such a thing. I am Alphess and I choose who shall sire pups to me. As it is, you're going about courting me all wrong and I am afraid you are fighting a losing battle. You don't just sire a femme for pups. You should do it for the pack as well as for your mate. Yes, a mate... not some tool for your own personal gain. And who's to say a female pup can't inherit the pack? Sure, it may be that brute's may be stronger, but a female is just as capable, thank you! Honestly." Her voice was cool and collected, no emotion showing within it, nor within her face. Her sneer had faded and she was looking at him directly in the eyes with her solid silver orbs.
Chevara wouldn't back down if this brute chose to fight her, though she didn't want it to end up like that. She needed pack members, but she wouldn't give up her newly claimed terrain so easily. He'd have to earn his place in the pack and, if he so wished, court her properly, before she would even consider him as a mate.
When he said he could kill her, she didn't flinch nor waver. I'd like to see you try... was all she thought, though there was no way he would be able to tell that. Chevara wasn't one to back down, nor was she one to fight without a plan or strategy. She had held her own against brutes before and she would do it again, should it come down to it. She wasn't one to be underestimated, for she was much stronger than she may appear.
She held her head high, tails erect, and looked at the brute who was out to steal her pack lands. If he wanted to try to kill her, she wouldn't back down... not like that coward Nynx. Instead, she would fight with all she had and then some. It was in her nature, her blood, to fight with all she had and she wouldn't let this brute be the first one to keep her from that ideal.
She held her form of dominance, the pose of an Alphess, and waited for him to make his move. If he chose to attack, she was prepared, though she was alert and that was the only way that one could even come close to knowing that was what she was preparing for. She looked him in the eyes and waited for him to speak.

he said smoothly. He would play by her rules awhile. With a glide of muscles, her moved forward and pressed his nose to her chin. "Pleasure to meet ye, Alphess Chevara. You will do me fine," he said, smiling at her, a real smile this time. His lime eyes twinkled as he moved back. With a wink of fair well, he leaped away and bounded down the slope, leaving the Alphess be for now. He'd annoy her later. His form disappeared into the dark, the almost silent pad of paws fading as he started to patrol the borders. Hey, he should prove his worth if he was to win this Chevara over. He smirked and twitched his tail, leaping onto a boulder, pricking ears and looking back at the stiff form of her. Aye, she would do him fine. Chevara knew he would try again to either sire her or take her spot, but she would be ready and wouldn't allow him to catch her off guard. She had been gaining the feel of his energy while speaking with him, that way she could keep her senses on him and know what he was up to... or at least, where he was.
She did feel, however, the creeping of the mating and birthing season upon her and she knew that her instincts would tell her to pick a mate and have pups... but who would she choose? She didn't have a large pack right now and the only brute she had met had been an arrogant cocky jerk... but she had to admit, she was attracted to those features of him. He was strong, and he had the aspects of a good leader... he would be a great Alpha and make for strong pups, but did she really want to mate him?
Her mind thought about all of this as he padded off to patrol her borders. Well, at least he was giving an effort, right? Chevara sighed to herself and nodded to him, relaxing a bit. She knew that tensions between her pack as well as all other packs in these lurid lands would rise as the mating season drew nearer. It was only mere days, maybe a week or two, away before the season would be in full kick and instincts would want to take over.
A pack needs to have pups every season... that way, there is always new and young blood in the pack as the other pack members grow older... whether she liked it or not, for the better of her pack, she would need to choose a mate soon, and odds were, Kerrigan would be the only brute that she would deem worthy.
She flicked her tails and padded back into her den, more to think and ponder what was going on and the dilemma at hand, as well as the days happenings.
