Synopsis Of Thread: A newcomer, Dark Fire, enters the packlands, greeted by packmembers Lucia and Sini. Sini is distrustful of the new fae, but Lucia takes her straight to Kerrigan, where she requests a spot in the pack. |
Dark Fire padded through the damp earth. She was only on the borders of the wetlands, and already she could smell the border markings. She lifted her snout to the air and paced a couple steps before halting. So many questions had swirled in her mind during the time of Dark Fire's lone travel. She had preferred that, the pure black vixen had never been to fond of the company of others. They hated her anyway. They suspected something evil in her, something that made them fear her with no reason. Why must she be outcast for her likeness for another? They hadn't exiled her themselves, but they might as well have. Well that would change, Dark Fire would stop anywhere to find a new home, and answers.

Silence. She was a lithe cat, stalking a small mouse... She moved forward, slowly, slowly... Her hawk was her eyes. She needed not those eyes, she could feel the mouse, hear it's small little sounds. She could taste it's life. She moved closer, closer... She knew that not even her bright green pelt could hide better if it was solid black, or even striped. Nay, it mattered not, for she was silent as a stalker so brilliant as herself.
And then she charged! Her jaw parted in a snarl, as she raced towards her target- it fluttered away as much as it could, but even with the wind on it's side now it couldn't escape. Her jaws clamped down with a solid snap on the nearly paw-shaped leaf, and her tail wagged intensely. "I GUT IT!" She woofed through her teeth- her feathered friend watching with disbelief. Sini's little wolf was old enough not to be a pup, yet she still acted like it.
But then, suddenly, her ears pricked, and suddenly the lime green wolf stopped, lifting a paw into the air to raise herself up more. What was that? She asked wordlessly, her nose flaring for the scent of the pawsteps she heard go messily through the swamp. Unlike Lucy, who knew the marshland well and moved through it silently, this wolf had no idea where she was.
She pinpointed the wolf. She was farther off, but not too far. Grinning, she turned her head to the flutter of wings from her friend and the light chime sound of her companion changing shape. She never knew what form Sini took, nor did she know quite what the bird looked like. That, of course, all came with being blind. She nodded towards where Sini was, and with careful directions, she padded off silently through the wet marsh, her paws finding the perfect spots to step so she wouldn't make much sound.
"Hewwwoooo~?" Lucia half-howled, half-barked, knowing she was getting close. The wolf was a female, like her and Sini! She liked that. Females should be nice to her- since they were the same, practically. She trotted to a clearer view, with less brush and more open marsh with a lot less reeds and more squishy, loud watery swamp. The wolf was close, she turned her head to where she heard the sounds of paws. "Ms. Wolf! Ms. Wolf, you know where you are? Are you lost?" She asked, trotting closer, and stopping far enough away that she could run if need be, or far enough away not to be imposing. She wasn't going to be friendly with a complete stranger- she had a pack now! She had family to be happy with.
Her obvious childish-accent clearly showed the bright, happy mood she was in. It was a carefree, not serious mood at all, "Ms. Wolf, you are in the Niggggore-EE Marshie-lands. Do you know you are tress-passering?" She grinned widely, friendly. "Kerrrrrrrrr might not like that. May I has your name?"

Dark Fire heard the female wolf before she appeared only 10 paw steps away. For a moment she was surprised at how quietly the young she-wolf had been, but she immediately guarded her expressions. She could tell by the way the bright green wolf's eyes stared distantly that they were of no use. This half pup was blind.
The dark wolf smirked as she heard the lime green wolf speak, but she was annoyed as well at this immature vixen barked. At last Dark Fire replied, adding mystery to shroud the happiness, "Me? I am a shadow."
The words were soft and menacing and Dark Fire paused before continuing, "My calling is Dark Fire, may I see your Alpha, Ker?"

The wolf made Sini worried. The wolf, even, made Sini call out a sharp, eagle-cry, flying high above the two of them. Lucy, however, was oblivious to the possible danger. She opened her muzzle to respond with a bright Ash Adow! She repeated the name of what she thought Dark Fire had met, but when the wolf added with a woof that her 'calling' was Darkfire, she tilted her head.
What did that mean? What was the difference between who you were and what your calling was? She didn't quite know, so she ignored it for now. She flicked her ears backwards, and blinked once, making sure her eyes were set on where the other wolf was. Not that she could see, but because to her, it seemed polite. Even though it would be seen as the 'glare' or a 'threat' by most wolves... Maybe it seemed creepy- her eyes did seem to stare past things, hollow and empty... She knew none of these things, however. Growing up with only Sini, it would be impossible to expect more.
However- Dark Fire, or Ashadow, whoever this wolf was, wanted to see Kerrigan. With a bright grin, she raised her head high, and asked Sini to keep a watch out for her Alpha, as she howled to him. It was a long, drawn out note, high in pitch and very, very young sounding. It had yet to be finely-tuned like adult wolf howls. She hadn't been with others long enough to know how to make her howl sound, so she only had instinct.
"Kerrrrrigan!" The howl started, asking for his ear. "There is a loner here! She wishes to see you, come as soon as you can, please?"

to the pack. Maybe he considered himself big brother material or father like image. Maybe he was crazy. He stalked across the wetlands, legs long and easy, muscled body made by long travel. Lime paw pads hit the ground, scratched and calloused and travel worn from his years as a loner. He flicked his tail as he moved strong and bold and unafraid. An Alpha if anything was. He snorted, a low, husky sound and twitched his ears. Unlike a normal wolf, he wasn't doing this for any other reason but to follow the youngwolf Lucy. Now....he knew she'd survived the world with just the bird, but now the wolfess was his as all his pack was and he had this irrational fear she'd find something dangerous. He huffed and paused to shake out his coat. She was blind. He knew this now, though he'd been a little stupid in the beginning since he'd never met a blind wolf. And the bird kept her in line so it wasn't that easy to notice. But the swamp had sand and sink holes and things. And the bear that had taken down Chevara was something to worry about as well. More bears could come. He'd heard a big cat scream the other night from just outside the terra. He'd been tempted to track down and kill the animal seeing as he was about the size of a giant mountain lion. Bigger. Kerrigan had little to fear from the world. He flicked his ears, blinking lazily until a voice he didn't recognize hit him. He jerked up, eyes sharp and glowing as he tilted his head up and filled his lungs with air. The wind was moving ...at an angle that gave him no scent! Bullocks. He growled softly and then hunched forward and bounced forward in a hunting stance. His tail rose a bit and he lifted his head listening to Lucy chirp away in her happy tones. She was such a sweet thing. He grinned at it then his smile of pride was wiped away as the darkness in the tone of the fae grabbed him. But then Lucy's call pierced the air and he flinched at the pitch of it. He straightened and stalked out form behind Lucy, darting Sini a look full of....thoughts. The bird knew his mind. He lifted his head and slid to Lucy's side, lip curling lightly over his saber fangs. "I am Kerrigan to ye," he growled, or more like rumbled. The deep Scottish burr a menace of it's own. He tilted his skull and dug his lime claws into the dirt. "What do ye want, femme?"[/ul][/blockquote]

Dark Fire immediately responded to his coming. She bent down, low, and lowered her tail limply. The Fae's ears flicked back as she pointed her nose to him. She had always hated submitting. The position was uncomfortable and lowly, she wanted to feel on top of the world, but she knew that only happened to those who slowly raised their levels. The huge male was around the same hue as the small fuzz ball of a wolf, so she could only assume they were related. She heard the wariness in his voice, and she knew he'd been strengthened with leadership and power.
If there is a fight, I'm dead! Dark Fire thought begrudgingly. But her tone was calm as she spoke, "Oh Kerrigan, Alpha of the pack that resides in the wetlands, I must stoop down to inquire."
A better word would have been beg, but Dark Fire never begged.
"If there is a spot in your pack for one more wolf, I will gladly take it. I don't mean to be hasty but..."
The vixen paused before continuing, "I have traveled a long way, exiled from a pack long ago because of my father."
