{{open for pups and parents}} He drew the hot late summer air between clenched teeth and held it, blue eyes watering. White flamed paws spread apart, creating a steadfast stance, digging small gray claws into the graveled ground for extra grip. Sharp, white tipped ears folded back, parallel to the ground, while two white tipped tails stood straight up, perpendicular. Just as he felt his small chest burn, ache, and scream for more air, he closed his eyes tight, cutting his vision to the semi-circle of half-boulders around him, and let loose his pent-up breathe in a mighty gust. …nothing happened…
Crow growled, his still-growing snout contorting in a puppy-snarl. The sound was higher pitched than he liked. Why couldn’t he snarl deep and true like his father? But Crow didn’t know that when he grew up, his growl would match, if not surpass, his father’s. But for now, he still growled the cute and adorable puppy-growl. And he hated it. His sharp blue eyes, eyes of only color, fell upon a ragg-tagg weed, hiding from the sun in the shade of a half-boulder…his half-boulder. His nimble frame leapt like a snake onto it, he held such odd grace and agility for one his age, and he ripped it to shreds with his small, needle pointed teeth. Suddenly, he halted, a burning, tingling feeling began to grown in his chest and his nose. Was this it? Was it fire?
Crow sneezed.
The young prince always found his way here, day in and day out. It was a small, secluded area, one that he ventured upon after running from his sister, who never seemed to tire of teasing and nipping at him for no reason. Getting here wasn’t easy, that was for sure. It was on the steepest side of his father’s mountain, well, they were all his father’s mountains, but this one had his father’s and mother’s den close to the base. Crow was half surrounded by half-boulders, large rocks that seemed as if someone had easily sliced them in half and arranged them in a semi-circle. The tops of them were unnaturally flat as the bottoms of them dug sturdily into the rock ground. They stood in a small clearing close to the edge of a small but steep ledge. Behind the boulders was the thick forest that covered the mountainsides in the summer. If the ledge were placed any higher, it would be just above the treeline and there would be no forest to hide it from other’s eyes. The ledge was a drop, but nothing too significant that they wouldn’t survive the fall, they’d just find it very painful to move for the next moon cycle or two. Below the small cliff was the thick forest lying below, the canopies of the pines hid the spot from eyes peering above. The young pup took pride that this spot, was his spot. When he perfected his fire and his flight, he would bring father up here and show him what he could do.

She loved to torment her brothers, especially Crow. He wanted so much to follow in daddy's image that he was the most fun to pick on. Granted, Haven was a little goody two shoes, but Crow was her biggest adversary for daddy's attention, and this was her reasoning behind tormenting as she did.
She watched him, fighting harder and harder to keep her fits of laughter hidden and silent. He looked so stupid trying to shoot fire like daddy. He would never amount to what daddy was and she would make sure of that. He was nothing compared to her idol and her father.
She couldn't help it anymore. She burst out laughing and padded toward him. She looked him squarely in the face and continued to laugh at him.
"You're so pathetic. You'll never be like daddy, you know that. Honestly, all you can muster to be like daddy is a petty sneeze? Puh-thet-ic!" [/b] She laughed in his face again and held her tail high as his tails. She watched him, taunted him, much like she always did. Her looks, pure white in appearance, but with flames that match her fathers on her legs and on the tufts of her fur that seemed to be highlighted with flame markings. An attribute she cannot tell where she got it from, but took pride in it all the same because it made her all that much more unique and better than her brothers. She, too, had bangs that hung over her face, though they normally only fell to one side from constant flipping and training so she could still see when she was attacking her brothers. "Just give it up. You'll never win and you'll never amount to anything, Crow, and you know it."[/b] Her voice was gloating and meant to sound hurtful and to lower his self-esteem and his already painful doubts he might have about never following in his fathers footsteps.[/blockquote]

Shrill laughter made his fur stand on end. How did she find his spot? This was his spot! Crow whirled around, facing his sister with a frown, hiding the fact that she had caught him entirely off-guard. He felt his puppy-growl begin to rumble in his throat, but he stifled it before it came out. Tola could growl better. Instead, he extended his small wings in a defensive position. Tola didn’t have wings. ”Go away, Tola! This is my spot, I found it first!” His pointed ears flicked back once more as his tails stood high. Taking the best defensive position he could to ward his sister away. But Crow knew, Tola wasn’t going to leave.
He ignored his sister’s words. She only said things to hurt him and he knew it. Right now, he didn’t care what she said or how she said it. He just wanted her to leave, this spot was his, it was his to show father. Not hers. ”Go ahead, smell around!” His voice was hard. ”This spot is mine.” It was true, he had watched father, and how he spread his scent to make the mountains his mountains. Crow had done the same. He had marked this spot as his spot. And just like father would defend what was his, Crow would defend his own.

She laughed again. Oh, how much fun she had making little Crow angry. He was only feeding into her enjoyment, whether he realized it or not. He was only encouraging her to continue. She flicked her tail and held her own cocky position, trying to display dominance over him.
He was getting defensive, but she remained calm and collected, holding her pose above his. "Whine all you want. You led me straight here. You should be more careful, little brother. You make it all too easy to follow you. Besides, even if you have marked this place, daddy will let me play here all I want anyway. You just wait and see!" [/b] She stuck her tongue out at him and laughed. Giving him a look, she preceded to raise her maw to the sky, as if to call her father into the mix. Granted, she was only taunting. It would take Crow's reaction to decide her next move.[/blockquote] ((Minor writers block, but will regain it))

Was there ever a time that Tola didn't enjoy torturing her brothers? Haven knew the answer to that like he knew his father's land. It was a bit easier for him to know what she was planning, only because he could read her thoughts far faster than she could explain them herself. But poor Crow... he wanted to be just like dad and Tola wouldn't have that. Why did they have to fight over affection? Couldn't thier parents take pride over them evenly? Momma always treated them fairly... at least, Haven thought so. She fed them evenly, and took care of them evenly.... Isn't that how it was supposed to be?
Haven padded his way threw the thick massive trees. If it wasn't for Crow's thoughts, he wouldn't have known where to find them. Her knew it was Crow's spot, but then again, in reality, it was daddy's. Haven let his tiny wings slink to his sides and his head hung low in a tiresome way. Why did those two always have to fight?! I wore him out always hearing their voices in his head. Even when he didn't want to hear them, they were still there.
"You're so pathetic. You'll never be like daddy, you know that. Honestly, all you can muster to be like daddy is a petty sneeze? Puh-thet-ic!" Haven heard Tola's voice as if she were right next to him. He shook his head and walked a bit faster, making the distance between them and him shorter. Maybe he could get them to stop fighting. It wasn't likely, but it was worth a shot. He jumped into the small clearing, his tiny down feathered wings extended and he glided to hault inbetween them. His one flopped ear twitched nervously. They may be stronger than he was, but he had a bigger brain, or so he liked to think.
His blood red eyes (the only part of him that could be remotely tied to Lucid, other than his three tails) watched them intently as he spoke. "Do you two always have to argue like this? You're giving me a headache." He pointed this out rather matter-of-factly, hoping that they might take him seriously. Haven didn't take a defensive stance, rather he sat down between them patiently and waited for them to speak to him. His three tail flicked lazily around him as he watched his siblings in an irritated manner.

And there was Haven. Both brothers were within her presence... Well, how lucky for them! She flicked her tail and closed her maw. She turned her white frame to face Haven and retorted.
"Then stop getting into our heads! Honestly, just wait until I find a mate... then you'll just love that, won't you? You're such a goody two-shoes, seeking acceptance from both parents. If you don't like our arguing, then stop following us! Learn to be as good as daddy and shield your mind! Honestly!" [/b] She flicked her tail, much like the habit her father had, and turned to face both brothers at the same time. "You'll never get the full affection of daddy. He loves me the most. I'm his only girl and he has two boys to look after. Besides, I can already do fire well like daddy, and little sneezer here looks like a dying fish when he tries to do it. As for you, Haven, you're too busy in everyone elses mind, you have no idea what you want to do with your own ideas or live your own life, instead of intruding upon mine all the time. Honestly, I don't know what you two would do without me to keep you in line! You two would be so lost without me!"[/b] She flicked her tail and held her head high, as if she were already alphess. "Oh, and fish-face, these are on daddy's lands, so you can't claim them for you. They're daddys and that means we can all play on any of it as long and as much as we want!"[/b] And, just to prove her point, she specifically sought out a spot where Crow had marked 'his' territory and marked it with her own scent, the whole time, looking at him with a smug expression. She padded over to him and sat in the spot where she could see both her brothers and sat triumphantly and smugly.[/blockquote]

He didn’t know what to say to her. Crow pinned his ears flat, looking at him from the front, you wouldn’t be able to see them, not even their white tips. The frosted feathers of his growing wings expanded, standing on end, making him look nearly twice his size. He hadn’t done it on purpose, it was a natural reaction to the petty child anger he felt welling within his chest. Crow knew what he felt was to Tola’s satisfaction, he didn’t want to give her what she wanted, but that didn’t mean her words didn’t have their desired affect. Crow snorted, scowling with plain eyes at his sister. A small stream of gray smoke shot from his nose as he did, but it went unnoticed.
His dull canine talons dug fiercely into the ground as he glared at her. ”I’m not playing favorites, Tola, I’m practicing for what father expects of me. I’m the first born and male, that makes me the rightful prince when my time comes, Tola. Favorites don’t me anything when due hierarchy is chosen at birth.” It only occurred to him now that his comment my hurt his brother as well. Crow didn’t have it out for Haven, not at the least, the two actually got along quite well, in nothing more than a contempt manner at best, but get along they did. Crow had declared the truth, the position his father held would rightfully one day be his in the hierarchy sense, but he had never flaunted the fact before his brother before. Sorry Haven, Crow’s desire to find a sore spot in Tola’s mind was much greater than worrying of what his brother felt of the situation. Though, if Tola did have a sore spot, Crow knew she would hide it well.

||OOC: I am so sorry I didn't post sooner! I spaced really bad.|| Haven's deep crimson eyes narrowed toward his sister. He rarely, if never, got angry at either them. Irritated, yes, but angry, no. At the moment though, he was reaching that point with Tola. He stood and while staying composed, he spoke to her, ”I‘ll control it, as soon as I can. I‘m working on it. If you haven‘t noticed, I‘ve been sleeping at night rather than listen to your pathetic dreams of becoming Alphess.”
He sighed and sat back down. Alright… so not only was he the youngest, but he didn‘t have any cool element either… They both had fire and it made him slightly jealous…. He shook his head softly and moved toward a tree. His down feathery wings were placed lightly at his side. At least he had wings and she didn‘t. Haven glanced toward his sister as she began to speak again. He swallowed hard as she started. Without missing a beat, ”You‘re so right, Tola. Without that massive big head of yours we‘d never find our way back to the den. And as for me not doing anything with my ideas, you have no clue what runs through my mind. I‘ve been practicing a little something and soon enough, you‘ll regret treating me like I‘m an omega.”
Haven was greatly relieved when Crow spoke. A little taken aback by what he said though… Crow had a point nevertheless. He was next in line… and then it would be Tola if anything were to happen to Crow… and with the likelihood of something happening to Tola slim to nothing, Haven didn‘t have a chance. He knew that Crow didn‘t mean to hurt him though. And that eased things a bit. And who knows, Haven could just up and leave and take over his own lands when he is old enough. He gave an accepting nod toward Crow, just to let him know that he spoke the truth and that he was alright with it.

Tola looked at Crow and growled. She snorted in his direction at his comment and scoffed. "Just because you're the oldest doesn't make you next in line. There have been plenty of packs and things that have had younger wolves be the alphas. Who's to say I won't beat you out? I have every chance of becoming Alphess as you do Alpha!' [/color] She stuck her tongue out at Crow and reared around to face Haven. "As for you, Haven. You have no room to speak! I wouldn't treat you like an omega if you didn't act like one all the time! You let yourself get pushed around, I don't force you to be!"[/b] She growled, her hackles raising and her anger growing. Smoke began to filter through her nose as she thought about fighting with her brothers. She loved a good fight.... but then she thought of daddy and wondered how he would feel about her fighting with her brothers. Surely it would be a show of dominance and power? Daddy would like that. She grinned darkly at him as more smoke began to billow from her mouth. She knew that Crow had wanted to learn to throw fire from his mouth, but it was something... a talent... she already had. Fire was her element and she would do her best to control it... if not for her, then for her dad's approval. The three of them fought for the approval of daddy... but only Haven seemed to fight for the approval of mommy. Oh well, she would show her brothers and put them in their place! "Be careful, little brothers... You wouldn't want to start something you can't finish!"[/b] She growled at them, facing both of them at the same time as to not have the chance of them pulling a sneak attack on her. She waited, patiently and calmly, for them to make a move.. any move.[/blockquote]

Haven stood back up quickly, his soft wings laying lightly at his side. He hated being pushed around, but he also hated having any wolf dislike him. Acceptance and popularity seemed to be his priorities... which would make his priorities skewed to the max. Then again, if he gained the acceptance of Daddy... He didn't have to be alpha, he could be beta and be happy. His power of reading minds could definitely come in handy when it came to helping out around the packlands. And Crow would surely make him his right pawed wolf, right?
He shook his head and licked his maw in irritation. Tola thought she could just be alphess by showing power and dominance. She knew little about being alphess. Momma always told him stories... Daddy was a born leader, she would always say, "He didn't use his size and power to gain his status. He was born to rule the land. He's a natual leader. You may be youngest, but the possiblitly that you were born with the power..." ... is slim to none. He finished the thought as he heard Tola continue talking.
A snicker escaped his maw on accident. Start something they couldn't finish? "Tola? You do realize that there is two of us, and one of you, right? Not to mention that I can hear your thoughts, meaning I know what your next move is going to be. And you thought you were wise. HA! You're nothing like Daddy, nor will you ever be." His flopped ear twitched slightly. He loved when he called his sister on her stupidity. However, she had strength that he didn't... and just trying to get yourself out of a situation with smooth talking probably wasn't going to work this time.

Tola listened to Haven's attempts at insulting her. Granted, it bothered her, but her tongue was quick and she could poke at his buttons just as easily.
"You won't be able to keep up with my thoughts if I think too rapidly! Or even concentrate should I start thinking about BOYS!!! I doubt that's something you want to hear about!" She thought for a moment about being outnumbered two to one, before she came to a conclusion.
"So what if there's two of you? You won't be able to beat me! I'm not afraid of you two!" Smoke began to filter out of her mouth as she waited. She made her thoughts be incoherent as she could and thought as quickly as possible, trying to make it as difficult as possible for her brother to read her mind. ((Major lack of muse))
