Synopsis Of Thread: Risako, a nearby loner, has gotten separated from the rest of her 'Pack'. Kerrigan, who is now Alpha of the Marshlands, greets her, whilst siblings and newcomers Kuruk and Awentia travel across the marshes in search of other wolves. Elsewhere in Nigori, packmates Yorushi, Gekkou and Fuyuko are searching for Risako. As Kerrigan and Risako get acquainted, a mysterious new wolf; Lydia appears on the scene. She is accepted into the pack by Kerrigan as Yorushi, Gekkou and Fuyuko find Risako with Kerrigan and Lydia. Awentia and Kuruk meet up with the larger group just as another brute; Rhage, emerges to the growing party. Rhage requests to join the pack whilst Risako requests for her group of four to also be acceptd within the pack.

"Ah! Stupid...mud!"The lupine being struggled against walking through the marshland she found herself into. "I did not ask to be stranded, yet I find myself right here of all places!" Risako, the roseate wolf, swished her tail angrily as she tried to remove her paw from the sticky substance. She was not in the happiest of all moods today, but what difference did that make? She was usually never happy. "Why? Why did I, the stupidest of all wolves, get stranded here? Why?" She wasn't happy about how things turned out, but what angered her the most is how much dependent she had been of them. Already she had missed her "pack"; how they always waited on Risako to give them orders, share her decisions. "Oh Fuyuko, Gekkou and dear Yorushi..." Risako whispered sweetly, thinking ever so kindly of them. Suddenly, a burst of anger flared in her eyes. "I can't believe I miss you guys!" she screamed in rage. Ever since that wretched storm barged its way through, everything went nuts. Risako, who was usually never lost, was in fact--you guessed it-- lost. Who knew what the heck happened to the others, but deep inside her strong heart, Risako hoped they were okay. Although she never showed it, she adored her group. They were a gift to her. But now, she was strayed from them, lonely once more. She looked around for signs of another wolf; surely they may be of some help. That is, if her unexpected entry didn't bother them so.

Other such tunes echoed in the great brutes mind as he bounced - rather puppishly - around the terra. It was his anyway, so he didn't have to mind. And Lucy, well, she wouldn't mind. That young she-wolf would probably enjoy the fun and games her alpha was acting in. Sini, on the other hand, the young wolf's companion, wouldn't be too pleased. But that was neither here or there. Neither creature was with him at the moment. Back at camp, he supposed even as he evened his steps to a more normal pace and raced over the swampy earth. They should be anyhow. But Lucy had a right to explore and he was sure Sini could take care of the lime fae. She'd done so for a while before coming to Nigori. Though his mood was largely improved. Well, drastically if you considered that the previous Alphess at one point a the subject of the question if she could be his mate, Chevara, was dead. Killed by a bear. His fur still prickled angrily when he started to think of that big headed lizard. His audits flattened and he let out a deep, base rumble. It was terror in a sound, but he wasn't really directing it at anything in his current zone. That brute had dashed off with a fae. After he'd given up the fight and pretty much let Kerrigan win by default. Winning by default was a blow to his pride! For Lupercus's sake, he could at least of put up a better fight before falling on his face like a coward. Kerrigan brooded a second before shaking his black peltage and those thoughts away like water droplets. Not that any clung to his pelt. Even as his neon green painted forelegs sent a glow around the grass as giant paws hit the ground with a splash, the droplet's of dirty marsh water that flew up to his peltage sizzled at the electricity Kerrigan flooded his pelt with. He liked the marshes, but he didn't really like the wet feeling on his skin. His lean black muzzle opened and the lime green of his long slid out between giant fangs that hung below his jaws. Everything about this wolf was massive. His paws where big, even for his body size. He stood inches above most wolves, and was a little more muscled than many as well. He wasn't like extremely bulky. Kerrigan had a smooth grace that made up for his massive size. Smooth, long black pelt, giant tassle that waved not too high behind him. Lighting veins flickered over his shoulders and stomach and other parts of his body as he moved. "I can't believe I miss you guys!"The shout broke his thoughts and he slid to a stop with a soft splash and angled large, lime audits toward the sound, neon nostrils flaring to take in the scent that just now floated his way. He gave a lopsided grin. Damn wind never worked when it needed too. or not till a loner had startled him out of his skin. He took a moment to shake out his pelt and flatten his fur before jumping into a lope that covered ground swiftly heading toward the sound. In the terra. He huffed a breath. Alpha. He still wasn't used to it. But he would be, that he knew. He stopped once again as he spotted a bright pink wolfess. He flicked his ears back and forth and then approach with no fear, but with a certain air that said he was alpha. He blink cat slit eyes at the femme and gave a slight smile, tilting his head. "Me thinks yer....lost?" he woofed, Scottish brogue thick.[/blockquote][/ul]

A thick sloshing could be heard in the swamplands. Of course, it could probably be heard everywhere, but in Kuruk's ears it was incredibly loud. "Wen," he growled. I hate you."
The female rolled her eyes. "Oh shut up Kuruk," the female growled back. "Honestly, you're always complaining. Just relax a bit. Enjoy the scenery."
"What scenery?" Kuruk demanded. His gray tail dragged in the mud and he lifted each paw individually, shaking the gook off. It made little difference. He had to put his paw back down. "The different types of mud? The gorgeous trees?" If sarcasm were tangible and created in a mouth, then it would be oozing out of the young wolf's mouth like the mud oozed off of his fur.
Awentia sighed. "Kuruk, can't you just stop?" she asked. "As soon as I figure out where we are, I'll get us out of here." Her love for her only brother forbade her snapping at him, verbally or otherwise. And Kuruk was just frustrated anyways. It was no big deal, really.
Sighing, Awentia stopped for a minute. She took a breath and focused all of her energy on one thing: a raft. She heard Kuruk gasp with delight as slimy vines began to gather. With a deft flick, the mud was tossed away from them and they spun together. When they lay relatively flat, Awentia let out a gasp and the vines fell flat. Leaves lay scattered across it, desperate to have been in contact with Awentia.
"They... feel funny," Awentia said quietly. "Not like any plants I've ever been around."
"They feel dry," Kuruk said happily, leaping onto the raft.
"D'you hear that?" Awentia asked suddenly. Her ears perked and swiveled in every direction. "It sounded like other wolves..."
"Lead the way then!" Kuruk said happily. He grabbed his sister's tail and let her drag him towards the voices.

Frozen in her tracks--not like she could go any further in the soggy wetland--Risako's ears twitched to locate the sound.
"Me thinks yer....lost?"
She turned her entire body around to face the stranger wolf, whose voice spoke in a Scottish accent. Yes, she was a little startled, perhaps; she hadn't detected the wolf's presence due to her rambling. "I wasn't lost....I just lost my sense of direction," The female said, an excuse to her rather inconvenient situation. She wasn't one to admit her own faults so easily, not to a stranger.
Not even if she needed as much help as she could receive.
Sighing, she decided that she had to suck it up. No matter how stubborn she was, she could only stand so much. Risako lifted a paw from the mud with difficulty, despair overcoming her. The horrible climate, so humid and warm, made the fur on her back rise. The sticky, gooey substance that was the mud was so adhesive, she struggled so much with each step. At this rate, she would never get to see them. Risako finally came to the realization that she had to give up her pride to look for the rest of the group. Her group.
"Um..my name is Risako Uehara, and I come in peace, I guess. I hope I wasn't invading your territory." She felt quite awkward talking to another wolf; she was so used to giving orders, she forgot how it felt to just talk.
===================================== "Fuyuko, are you sure you haven't seen Riko anywhere?" Yorushi asked the blue wolfess, obviously anxious to know what happened to the fellow member of their group. The storm had been quite strong the night before, and the tiny "pack" had been scattered to safety. Only one member had been lost, and it was Risako.
"Yoru...if I had known, she would be here by now, wouldn't she?" Fuyuko said. "Besides, if we really cared about her safety, we wouldn't be asking rhetorical questions, or taking a nap like him over there," Fuyuko stopped to tip her head towards the snoozing emerald wolf, Gekkou. "I say we head out and find her. You know, to get rid of the suspense once and for all."

the way to get pack members. When the fae spoke, he controlled a smile and the urge to laugh. That was the same thing, even thought the wording was different and thus gave the appearance that she knew everything. He supposed she was one of those types of faes that got pissed if a male even offered help. He didn't think faes weak - more so, he found them very strong and worthy to be in any rank in the pack - but sometimes, they had to get over the fact they were normally small and sometimes needed a little help. Not that females thought anything of that sort. When she spoke again and flicked his ears forward. What an odd name. Risako Uehara. Uh....he didn't think he could pronounce that. At all. He ran his lime tongue over his jowls. Minds well give it a try. "Pleasure.....Rishek-ho?" he woofed, flicking his ears down at the failed attempted. He gave a slightly sheepish smile. "Sorry, lass. Me accent....doesna allow fer tha' type o' sound," he said, waving his tail and covering his saber fangs. Since she'd given him her name he brushed aside the epic fail and gave her his own. "I'm Kerrigan, Alpha 'ere. Yer in Nigori Marshlands," he said, pleased that Nigori didn't sound so splayed. He'd been practicing. He smirked lightly and then jerked his head around, giant ears angling forward as the sound of splashing that indicated more wolves met his ears. He tipped his head back and gave a short howl, giving a pinpoint on where he and this Risako were. It ended a second later and he backed up so he could have both the approaching wolves and the pink one in his sight.[/blockquote][/ul]

She was new to these lands, yes, but they weren't all that different than any other lands she had encountered that held the same... charm... as these ones. Granted, maybe one or two things were of interest to her already long lived mind, but nothing that stood out to her. She had been everywhere... everywhere except the pack lands upon Aelyn. She'd traveled through the plains once or twice, but had never taken the time to explore the lands themselves. This was changing now.
Her sensitive ears caught the sound of voices. Her heightened senses could smell the smell of at least six other wolves, aside from herself. Each had it's own distinguishing scent, though four of them seemed to have a little of the same scent. No matter, probably wolves traveling together.. nothing out of the ordinary to her mind. She had found that despite popular belief, many wolves did tend to travel together, especially those who had been survivors of some horrible accident... just like most wolves out there.
She sighed as she traipsed easily through the marshlands, light and graceful and not having a single drop of mud dampen her fur. Her dagger-like claws made no sound as she landed silently through the trees. She had had a lot of time in her life to perfect her movement and she had mastered the art of moving silently.
She came to the clearing, woofing a greeting to the alpha. She held the utmost respect for him, bowing her head and doing all the usual things a lone does when meeting the Alpha of any lands. She gave a sidelong glance to the femora before him and returned her pale amber gaze to his. Her fangs protruded slightly from her mouth, something that she didn't even try to cover up. It was already difficult for others to figure out what it was about her that made her the way she was and no one had ever guessed that she was a vampire.
"My name is Lydia, great Alpha. I mean you nor your lands any harm. I am merely passing by and found a particular liking for these lands. I humbly ask to join your pack and offer my services to you as my Alpha." Her words were like silk, smooth and soft, yet with some sort of feeling to them that showed she was sincere. Her voice, like velvet, calm, cool, collected, held no deceit within it. She never took her unique, pale amber eyes from his as she waited for his response. She knew he was a fairly new Alpha, she could smell it on him. The stench of death hung about him as well, so she assumed his previous alphess had passed on and he had taken her place. Well, shit happens, right? She held her features lower than his, and waited for his response. She knew that there were many wolves around and that many wolves would be approaching soon, so she figured she would offer her services right away, not smelling but one other wolf and one creature on his pelt. Obviously, he had the smallest pack in the lands. He could use a wolf like her in his ranks and she knew it. If he refused her, then so be it.. it would be his loss. Silence befell her and she moved not a muscle waiting for his reply. She could have been part of the marshlands or a statue with how unnaturally still she stood.[/blockquote]

Risako smiled at the wolf. She could have guessed that Kerrigan, the Alpha of Nigori Marshlands, was just that. She saw it in his presence. But she couldn't tell for sure; Risako wasn't used to any other wolves besides them. Besides, looks could be deceiving. The idea of joining a real pack fascinated her. How would they react if I told them that? she wondered. Would they be happy? Mad? A fae with fangs unusually bigger than the norm appeared, her presence filling the scene with a mysterious air. She asked for acceptance into Kerrigan's pack; perhaps she should too? = = = = = = = "...do. Mido..."Gekkou's heavy eyelids slowly opened and shut as the voice called out to him. Mido. That nickname, the only reason he had it was because of the word Midori, which means green. He was the Emerald Wolf, right? It's only natural that they call him that. But why would someone be calling his name right now? A splash of cold water landed on Gekkou, awakening all his senses at once. "Ha hah! Aren't you awake now, sweetie?" Fuyuko-- of course it was her. "Taking advantage of your ability, huh?" Yorushi asked Fuyuko, the water-manipulating wolfess. "Good job!""Thanks," she said, making a mock bow. Gekkou just yawned and stretched, later shaking off the water Fuyuko had thrown onto him. "Shouldn't we be looking for Risako?"Both wolves looked at each other, both thinking the same thing. "Uh duh! We were waiting on you, sleepy-head."Gekkou walked ahead, seriousness suddenly filling his voice. "Follow me."

Awentia pulled her brother on the raft forward until she spotted a couple of wolves in front of them. A male and two females.
"Kuruk, don't offend them," Awentia ordered.
"Of course, Nags-a-lot," Kuruk said, but he stayed quiet and released his sister's tail while Awentia took a few steps forward.
She allowed the other wolves to introduce themselves to each other. Obviously the male was an alpha. She could tell simply by the sheer size of him. And if he wasn't an alpha, then the rest of his pack was to be feared.
She settled down, her ears laid backwards and her head slightly lowered in respect to the others. Had she been with her parents, she would have quickly interrupted the conversation. As it were, she didn't dare.
Kuruk sat on his little raft, his tail swishing back and forth. He sighed, bored. If it hadn't been for his refusal to touch the murky gook beneath the raft, he would have gladly joined his sister and stayed silently next to her, but he really didn't want to touch the ground. Well, he was sure that if Awentia planned on staying, he would suck it up and figure out how to get used to it, but for now, he hoped she wouldn't want to stay and wouldn't let a claw meet the gook.

Gekkou had been leading the way. His sensitivity to the surrounding earth was useful in times like these. His ears were keen to every sound, his nose scanning for a hint of Risako's fragrance.
"Find anything?" Fuyuko asked. She was hoping to get a trace of Risako's whereabouts by now, but her expectations were set too high. Apparently, she is nowhere to be found, judging by Gekkou's disappointed glance.
"Nope. It's pretty strange, really. I've never been in marshlands, and by the looks of it, I probably won't be able to stand it either. The mud!" Gekkou said, pointing at the icky substance.
"Don't forget to mention the humidity of this place! I mean seriously, couldn't Riko find a better place to get lost?" Yorushi added.
Fuyuko rolled her eyes. The wolves were in a cranky mood due to their separation and the new climate they faced. But these guys were seriously acting immature. Seeing that she had no choice, Fuyuko got into her "leader" mode and ordered the others, "You guys are whining like little puppies. Get a move on and look for Riko!"
The three wolves roamed the muddy wetlands. After a long time of concentrated silence, Fuyuko said, "We should howl. She would probably hear at least one of us, that is, if she's anywhere near here."
The wolves, all varying in color as well as pitch, howled in unison, hoping that their roseate leader would be able to listen.

Was this 'let's-attack-Nigori' day? Kerrigan had to wonder. On the wind the scent of yet another wolf caught his attention and he jerked his head away from the voices and scents to stare in the direction of the newest scent. Female. Very female. Well, he'd been smelling a lot of faes. The one in front of him, the one accompanied by a male behind him and the fae now padding toward him through swampy marsh grass and low trees. She had fangs, like his. Only shorter. His were saber, hers were just....long. More useful, he supposed, than his. He clicked said fangs in greeting, no hesitation in the motion of greeting. He lifted his head slightly to watch the fae. Like everyone else, she was shorter than him by inches. A deep coal black with red hints on her paws, tail, and cheek fur. Her wings were also that red and he twitch his raised tail. She had a nice design, and a good coloring without being flashy or annoying. Not that he was flashy or annoying. His markings made him bigger and more male if they did anything. Her voice, a calm cool like the streams in the mountains came and he flicked his large, neon audits forward, then swiveled one to keep an eye - or rather ear - on Risako and the approaching wolves. Lydia. Something her could pronounce at least. He held still not shifting about like a spineless ninny unsure of one's self. He stared at her with lime eyes. She knew of the small numbers in the pack. He narrowed his already slit orbs. Yes. He was sure of it. And she was a strong fit wolf. He needed wolves like her. She knew that too. Arrogant wench, his thoughts purred even as his muzzle curled into a smirk that said very plainly 'as if ye could hurt me.' He had his pride but that he was pretty sure was true. He waved a black paw and his lime claws gleamed slightly. "Ye ken th' facts o' this land. We hae too wee a numb'r fer me to say no," he told her, rolling his shoulders. Then he realized he didn't sound very gracious and cleared his throat in a rumble like rocks. The opposite of this new comers tones. "I be Kerrigan, an' calling me Kerrigan is preferred, if ye doona mind," he woofed and bowed slightly. "Ye are accepted as a Marshlander, lass," he finished, standing straight again as the sound of more voiced reached him. he didn't yet trust the new wolf that was now pack, but he had to start somewhere. He turned his head, confident enough to show her his side and not watch her with his ears. Risako remained silent as two new wolves appeared. One approached. A female. The male stayed on a raft of some sort. Basically dry while the femme walked through the mud and water to give him a proper greeting. He scanned the fae with intelligent pools. She was a pretty brown with white on her muzzle and chest a stomach. More simple designs and they were soothing to him. He bet he blinded others with his glow. He nodded politely to her and then his gaze shifted to the gray male. He rolled his lips slightly over a fang and twitch his tail. Come here. The other wolf was on his land. Wandering, not asking to enter. He should have the balls to walk over through a bit of muck. Kerrigan shook out his fur and looked at the female with a slight smile. "Greetings fae. As ye hae probably 'eard I be Kerrigan, Alpha 'ere," he said, flicking his ears to wait for her reply. But then a call was raised by three wolves. Kerrigan flattened his ears after a second. More wolves in his land. And not looking for the alpha that ruled the place or offering any respect at all. He lifted his head and howled back in a sharp burst of husky sound. It more or less said 'get your tails over here'. He wasn't for major explanations through a call.[/ul][/blockquote]

She saw the incoming wolves and remained silent as they introduced themselves to Kerrigan. Watching her stay still and calm was a rarity, but a need to respect the wolves she hadn't met before had made Risako act that way. She might have looked like she wasn't paying any attention to any one of them, but that was because of her refusal to meet their eyes. So she allowed a single, passing glance at each of them. Her fear of causing trouble is often misunderstood for an aloof attitude, but she wouldn't mind. Just as long as nothing terribly bad would occur, she would be fine. And right there, she heard it. Gekkou, Yorushi, and Fuyuko would be howling for their lost leader in an effort to find her. Risako's ears, tipped with a color of plum, were directed at the sudden echoing howls of three wolves. It's them! she thought, a surprised smile reaching her muzzle. Kerrigan howled before she had a chance to do so, and it was a howl commanding their presence. Of course, that was expected of an Alpha wolf. It would only be natural for him to know who walks among his lands. Risako couldn't resist the chance to show her whereabouts to her fellow wolves by releasing a howl that she was very well known for. It was a beautiful melodic howl that brought music to everyones ears. It was a very sweet sound, and she made sure to make it loud enough to be heard by her group. "It's them. Don't worry, they are friends and they mean no harm." She spoke mainly to Kerrigan, letting him know of the friendly wolves. Her eyes refused to meet his; she was afraid of provoking the incident that caused her fear and dread of her own power. = = = = = = = = = "Do you think she heard that?" Gekkou asked anxiously. Suddenly, a booming howl was heard. The wolves waited for a moment, their confused eyes looking at each other with puzzled expressions. Then a familiar voice filled the atmosphere. "Yep, I think I know where she is." Yorushi confirmed. "But what about the other wolf?" Fuyuko asked, her voice showing a hint of concern. "What if it's an enemy?"Yorushi shook his head. "Can't be. Why else would Riko howl like that? No, he must be friendly." "Well in that case, we better run up to them. And soon." Fuyuko motioned for Gekkou to show the way. He was, after all, their very own tracker. The source of the sounds, and therefore, Riko's location, was not very far. They had gone down a path, and soon enough, Gekkou picked up her scent. They saw paw prints carved in the moist soil, and then they came upon a clearing. The clearing looked pretty; you were able to see the clear sky, free of clouds, vegetation surrounding them in every direction. Nearby were the wolves they had sensed. Among them was Risako. Grinning nervously, the cyan wolf walked in front of his group, joining the other wolves. Giving a chuckle, he could only say "Heh, hello there."

Awentia shivered slightly at his howl, but nodded a greeting to the alpha male. "Greetings, Alpha Kerrigan," she woofed quietly. "I am Awentia and this is-"
"Her brother Kuruk," the gray male barked, scrambling off the raft. He was smaller than Awentia, so he was dwarfed by the big male Kerrigan. He definitely wasn't going to let that male near him with that angry look. "Sorry," he muttered, although he wasn't completely sure what he had done. "I've never been on these lands and don't know any of the laws here."
"And I can't say much about his common sense- or lack thereof," Awentia added. She gazed at her brother fondly. "But he's very nice once you get to know him. If you choose to." She glanced at the other wolves, feeling a little awkward about being near so many. All her life she had been with her brother, and when she had been younger she had never met anyone but her parents. All these new faces and names were daunting to her. But this alpha seemed like he'd be nice enough. His accent was particularly endearing. She had never heard a voice like that before- she hadn't heard a voice other than her brother's in years- and it made her giggle inwardly that it was so different than her own or that of a member of her family.

Rhage had left the waterfall once and for all. He had hated it there from his first step onto the land, and luckily, he didn't join the pack, so no need to hurt anyone in order to leave. He walked with dragging paws across the ground. Awww, the marshlands. Soft ground... easily frozen... probably the best place for him. And easy escape if need be. His dark nose twitched as the scent of an alpha crossed his path. He was on a territorial ground. Lucky him.
His stomach growled softly as he continued walking aimlessly. His paws were surprisingly clean of blood, and his mood seemed to be nothing. He felt rather monotone. There was no hint of happiness in him, nor were there a speck of anger flowing from his dark pelt. The crimson of his eyes seemed empty. No feelings... just empty... the best time to actually talk to him. But there was no one to talk to... Now that was an understatement.
Rhage stepped into a clearing and shook the dew from his fur. It wasn't until he saw the pack of wolves in front of him that anger slowly began to work it's way back to his icy heart. There were so many wolves, nothing like back at the waterfall. The largest one was definitely the alpha.. he reeked of power. The tattered wings attached to Rhage fell limply at his sides, dragging the ground as he walked toward them all. He caught the names of two wolves. Awentia and Kuruk. A ping of pain shot threw his heart. Awentia looked identical to his lost mate... in fact, at first glance, Rhage would have sworn it was her... his precious Mia. Anger emitted from him like a boiling volcano. Anger that Mia left... and anger that this another wolf had the beauty of her. She didn't deserve the looks of an alpha's daughter.
What was he to do about it, though? He wasn't in the mood to fight, in fact, he was in the mood to join a pack if it gave him food and place to sleep. If he didn't like it, he could always just leave. Or get thrown out, either was well liked by him. He looked at the obvious alpha, taking in his looks. Rhage looked much like him, only crimson rather than lime in color. Looks can be deceiving however. Luckily, Rhage was just the same size as the alpha. In his usual rough, cruel voice, he spoke, and in a rather cool and normal manner, "I'm Rhage. I've trespassed on your lands, but have not hunted. If you are accepting members, I think I might actually join your pack. I am in need of food and for some odd reason, I can't hunt on your lands without receiving your approval."
If the alpha knew anything about Rhage, he would know that he did what he wanted, including hunting on someone else's land. Something had come over the anger in Rhage. Acceptance, maybe? The need for settling down and creating a new family? The cruelty ceased in him for a moment. Pain took over the anger in his icy heart, which was a major change, and a change greatly appreciated by Rhage. While he waited for the alpha's decision, his crimson eyes continued to dance toward Awentia. Why does she have to look so damn much like Mia? Alphess material for damn sure. The Alpha is certainly going to spot that. If he is as wise as an alpha should be...[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Awentia nearly jumped out of her skin as another voice joined the conversations. She hadn't noticed this new male's approach, and stepped back to allow him to greet the alpha male. She gave the newest male the once-over, her eyes lingering on his torn and ragged wings. They wouldn't do much for flying she guessed, but still, he had wings.
She was certainly falling into odd company lately, now wasn't she? Unless all wolves were colored this strangely, and she and Kuruk were the ones who were the odd ones out. She certainly felt out of place with these wolves. That reddish she-wolf Awentia knew had been talking to Kerrigan, Kerrigan with his green markings and enormous size, and now this new wolf, Rhage, just as big as Kerrigan, with his wings and red markings... How different was she? Was she the different one?
She suddenly realized that Rhage kept looking at her. She cleared her face of her confusion and uncertainty and met his gaze. She wasn't certain why he was looking at her like he did, nor was she certain exactly how he was looking at her- what emotion was behind the gaze- but she did know she felt uncomfortable under this new wolf's gaze.
Almost as if he sensed her uneasiness, Kuruk stepped forward and leaned against his sister, glaring at the male while reaching his paw in front of Awentia's protectively. He didn't like it when Awentia was unhappy. He remembered a phrase his mother had told him once: "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." And if Awentia wasn't happy, ain't nobody was happy; Kuruk made sure of that.
But neither of them would dare to speak to this new wolf first- at least, not before the alpha. Their parents at least- while keeping them generally away from pack life- had taught them that much.

Risako trotted to her wolf friends and whispered, "I've been thinking that maybe we should live here. You know, to establish a home once and for all. The wolves seem pretty nice, and so does the Alpha. What do you guys say?"
Yorushi frowned, obviously opposing the idea of living in an uncomfortable environment, but nodded. Gekkou woofed an approval, and Fuyuko followed. Risako sighed with relief for their cooperation.
Yoru approached the Alpha and asked, "Great Alpha, I, Yorushi, and my group, consisting of Risako, Gekkou, and Fuyuko, humbly ask to be an addition to your pack."
His tail was touching the ground, a sign of his subordination, and waited patiently for the leader's answer.
The others were sitting, their eyes set on Yorushi and Kerrigan. It was their first time attempting to join a pack, and the situation seemed utterly scary. But Yorushi's calm disposition brought hope to the other three.
Risako silently begged that their lack of proper communication with other wolves besides themselves wouldn't become a factor to the Alpha's refusal.
