Fwoosh, a shadow stirs in the moonlit, Swiff, padded feet tread lightly on soggy earth, Gwush, from the shadows nightmares come. In all shapes, in all sizes, creatures that might have existed, monsters that should only dwell in dream. On clicking legs, over slimy bellies, through fang and tooth and nail they crawl, a parade of the horrible. Silently they follow a black wolf through the night, she sharp eyes glowing softly.
"Its cold here," She decided, "Cold Cold three times more and Jack frost will come." She turned back to the nightmares that followed her, "Won't he?" She turned back as the nightmares stirred in chorus. "Does the presence of my thought make me alive? Hey, hey heeeeey," She looked up at the moon, her ear flapping rapidly, her tail wagging, "Heeeeey you up there. Whats that word, that word when things are going right, and then they go gwush? You know, whats the word for that? Or for the moment you realize you forgot how a rock smells. One two three five, three heads make god." She shook her head, hopping, "I don't know, the words, the words, they are flying, flying like the grasses, grasses so red, why do you take the words, you takes them you do... Hey... Heeeeeeey can I dance with you," She looked back at the nightmares again, "My nightmares don't dance, I think thats why they are nightmares. Do nightmares dance? Or do they only shuffle, foot to foot, one in front of the other foot to foot," She hopped again, her wild eyes flaring to the sky, "HEEEEEEY MR. MOON MAN! COME DANCE WITH ME!" She waited, a moment passed, and when she got no reply, she slumped down.
All around her her nightmares gathered. Things were different now, they didn't scare her, because she made them, because she was their goddess. "I can gwush you!" She said, a deep cackle escaping her throat. "Nightmares, nightmares like ripe bananas... ... ... What's a banana? Is it like an answer to a question? But we must not ask those questions, questions lead to answers and answers will reveal a secret. You can't reveal secrets! You must never do it never do it never do it, because if you reveal a secret you kill it, and you never want to kill a secret. Don't kill secrets because they are good things, secrets, they save lives and treat their guests well... such good tea... what is tea?"
The nightmare creatures sat all around her, all seeming intent on her every word. "Wants something? A story? A story before bed thats how the moon does it, a story every night every night, every night, did ya hear the moon tells the stars a story every night, like a parent he is, a parent with bananas and tea, what are those again?" She shook her head wildly, her ears folding back and perking up, flat, up, flat, up, flat, up like wind flaps! "Okay, a story, who wants to hear a story,". The nightmares all leaned forward. Harlequin bolted upright, bouncing on her paws, "A story a story, what kind of story, did you want to hear a story? I tell a story about, about, about a wolf named Kila! She is my friend you know, but we always have to be quiet, because she doesn't like the sounds she does, and her name is KIIIIILLLLAAAA," Her voice echoed through the lands of water and soggy land. Madness had arrived in this land as well, and its emissary is named Harlequin.

Violet orbs watched through the night as small puppy paws clumsily tripped over the roots and the undergrowth that is the Marshlands. She was noisy, following blindly after nothing as she ran through the undergrowth. She often ran free, her mind not catching anything, skipping from subject to subject. Her mind never held one item in it at one time, always changing, always coursing, though it didn't bother her any.
She came to a small clearing where she found a dark wolf surrounded by a bunch of other creatures. SHe wasn't sure what they were, but she didn't care at this point... it was just another wolf for her to talk to and for her to meet. Her audits caught part of what she was saying, her heart jumping and her tail wagging madly at the thought.
"Stories! I love stories!" [/b] She ran quickly toward the female, who was larger than she was, for obvious reasons. Felisity was only a pup, a yearling who had no idea how she had gotten here or where she came from. "HI! How are you? What are these? Are you telling stories? Can I hear the story? What is your name? How old are you? Do you want to play? I'm Felisity!"[/b] She panted excitedly as she wagged her black and yellow tail madly. She looked around and watched the creations that were around the Harlequin, though she didn't know they were creations... only that they were there and seemed as real as she was. "So, what are you doing here? What are your names? Do you have anything to eat? Want to see what I can do? I promise it's really cool. Have you ever seen a butterfly? It flutters and flaps and flies. I like the stars... the stars are pretty... Can I be your friend? I like you."[/b] She sat promptly and began to wag her tail. Her orange and blue starred wings were resting against her sides as she grinned brightly at the wolf and the creatures before her. She yipped in excitement and realized she hadn't shown her trick. "Oh! My trick! I forgot to show you! Watch!"[/b] She stood quickly and looked back at her tail, growled slightly than began to promptly spin in rapid circles in an attempt to catch it. After a few moments of chasing it, she finally caught it, but didn't stop at that point. She spun too fast before she could catch herself and tripped over her own paws, rolling into Harlequin and shaking her head as she looked up at her, dazed. "See? Wasn't that cool! Can you do anything cool? I like cool things... I like you.. you're cool... so are your friends... I think you're all cool!"[/b] She grinned widely as she panted once more.[/blockquote]

Things are so peaceful for a moment, a story, a story about a friend. Energy, energy and colors, too many colors, too many colors. Bright bright, three four five six, bright bright, like a star, or a moon, or a fire, or a tuna fish. "Wait," The black wolf whispered, "Thats not right is it? No fire isn't that bright. Its like a glowy thing, not a gwushy thing." She gasped, her eyes widening, "Gwushy! A verb turned adjective... what is an adjective?" Her eyes fell on the vibrant puppy who had landed before her, "Is it like a tuna fish? Or is it more like a thing you forget but have to remember when the bubbly things go west? Is it? Is it? I don't know. I would know, but I am not supposed to know, Bad Harlequin bad bad bad verbs,"
She shook her head, her ear flapping. "Bright bright, your bright, like a star. Are you a star? Oh you should go back little star, the moon won't like this, not one bit not one bit. Fe-li-ci-ty it rhymes with Voracity you know. Is that a verb or an adjective? Or is it just tuna?". She rolled onto her back, her nose pointed up to the puppy, "Your little ya know. Are you a shadow, they are shadows, you can eats them if you can find their meat, meat meat, like tea, or a bannana, or KIIIIILLLLAAAA but we can't eat her because she is a friend, and eating friends is not San-i-tary." She closed her eyes, then rolled back onto her feet.
All around the shadows stirred, moving back a foot or two at the arrival of the neon explosion. They seemed, disturbed at best. They wanted to attack, needed to act with menace. But, the gwush, oh they feared the gwush. If they got gwushed, they would get all gwushy. They held their places, chittering with each other. Hundreds of them, big and small, a circle of black beings unlike any the world had ever know.
Harlequin watched the pup's trick, spin spin, around and around, faster and faster. "I can't do that,' She whispered, "Too fast too fast, out of control like a shadow, thwap thwap thwap goes the head on the rock. One head, two head, three heads more. I am Harlequin don't you know, Harlequin is like a verb that forgot that it was born an adjective. Her ear twitched, her eyes narrowing on Felisity, she was a conundrum, or a enigma, or no, no, she was an answer to a problem never presented, like a can of tuna. "So what are you? Are you a verb, an adjective, or a gwush?"

All Felisity could do was listen. This wolf seemed to make no sense, yet perfect sense at the same time. Felisity tried to follow, but her overactive mind wanted to wander. Words went in one ear and out the other as she stared blankly at the wolf before her.
"Who is Keeeeelllllllllaaaaaaaaaa? I've never heard a name that was said so long before! Do you have any friends? I mean, aside from Keeeeeeellllaaaaaaaaaaaa? I can be your friend. Do you want me to be your friend? Why can't you do my trick? It's not that hard. Just chase your tail and allow it to fall into your mouth. It's easy! Where do you come from? Why does your ear flop like that? Why don't you have any bright colors? Why is the sky blue? Where do babies come from? Are you magical? My mommy used to tell me everyone was magical... but I don't think that's true. I'm not magical... I've never done anything out of the ordinary." [/b] She sighed to herself before flicking her tail and hopping around circles around Harlequin. "Do you play? Want to play? How old are you? What are these creatures? I've never seen any like them! Can you do any tricks? How did you get here? Are you in a pack? What is an ad-jec-tive? Or a verb for that matter? What about a gwush? You're silly."[/b] She stopped hopping around Harlequin, her vision getting slightly blurred and shook her head to regain her composure. After regaining her composure, Felisity glanced toward the shadows, hearing their clicking and unsure of what to make of them. Out of curiosity, she turned to face them. Arching her butt in the air, her wings flat and her tail low, she tensed her muscles and sprung at the nearest shadow. She opened her paws in an attempt to capture the creature, curious as to how this would turn out.[/blockquote]

GWUSH! The shadow creature, a small black fish with glowing yellow eyes. Paws, bright monster, bright monster and paws. The shadow's eyes widened, its mouth opening and closing as it screamed in terror at the neon whirlwind that was descending upon it. Gwush Gwush Gwush. Closer and closer, every shadow in the area turning to watch. GWUSH! Two paws clamping down on the shadow, a panicked squeak escaping its lungs, just before the paws moved right through it, as if it wasn't there at all, a ghost, a shadow, nothing more. The shadow fish breathed heavily, uttered a few select cursing cheeps at the pup, and swam off into the crowd.
Harlequin's eyes widened, it was her turn to hop. Bouncing on her paws, flying around Felicity in a daze. "You tried to Gwush you tried to Gwush!" She chirped, her ear seeming to dance yet again. "It was good, good gwush, but its not like a pounce its like a rapt, or a puft. Hey, heeeeey what's the word when you wanna teach someone something, but the lesson won't tell you what it wants to say?" She eyes the shadows, "But don't make them go gwush. They are good they are good, my shadows, my little ones, mine mine MINE!" She shrieked, breaking into mad, happy cackles.
She paused, her eyes looking over this little wolf, "I like you. You ask questions and try to gwush. I can gwush, its what I do, but I can't gwush too much because thats un-san-i-tary. Remember, with great gwushs come great... how does it go? Cheese, does it come with cheese? I came with cheese, and bread, and ham, and... or was that a sandwich? What is a sandwich?" She shook her head, her tail flapping in erratic circles. "Questions questions you asked questions," She took a deep breath and, "Kiiiiiillllaaaa is a wolf who punished her dirty dirty eyes for showing her things that lie,I am very good friends with the moon and stars, and KIIIILLLLAAAAAA. Then there is the voice, the voice that comes from trees. The one who trips the light intangible, do you hear him? Do you do you do you? He has a funny voice, its like this, like a verb that thinks its an adjective but really its just a... just a... a bunny!"
She shook her head and howled, long and powerful, and suddenly she dropped to the ground, pressing herself flat on the earth. "Shhhhhh. I forgot, we have to be quiet for Kiiiiillllaaaaaa. She doesn't like the sounds, no she dont no she dont. No sounds, we gots to be quiet we gots to be quiet because sound just is not SAN-I-TAR-Y!!!!!"

Felisity listened to the wolf's mad cackling and burst into fits of giggles herself. Her laugh was shrill and high, very fitting for her size and fursona. She began laughing so hard that she fell to the ground, ignoring the shriek and curses of the shadow fish. She rolled around, her wings flat on the ground as she flicked her tail and wrapped her paws over her stomach and laughed harder, even after the Harlequin had begun to cease.
"I... can't.... stop.... la... ha... haa..haah... ghing!" [/b] When her laughing seemed like it would go on forever, she suddenly grew silent and looked at Harlequin. "So Gwush? Gwush! Gwush gwush gwush!!! Gwushy gwushy gwushy gwush!"[/b] She repeated the word, making it into her very own song, before turning her wide eyes toward the shadows and then back to Harlequin. "You didn't say if you could do any tricks! Why do you not answer my questions? I have lots of questions... Do you have any questions? GWUSH! I like that word... Gwush!"[/b] She smiled a wide, toothy grin, her eye glowing with childlike wonder.[/blockquote]

Amber eyes scanned the landscape in the night's darkness. Puddle here. Underbrush there. Large orange paws moved from one decently solid spot of land to the next, guiding Melethron through the marshlands in near silence. He did not mind the copious amounts of mud between his toes; both the mud itself and the climate that it was the result of reminded him of his home on the distant island he had been taken from.
Pricking up his ears, Melethron thought he heard talking. He slunk lower to the ground and moved closer to the area from which he thought the voices to be coming. From his new vantage point, he could make out two animals conversing. ...Wolves, right? Yeah. Wolves. One of pure black and the other... the other... good goddess. You would think a rainbow might have thrown up on a canvas of black. Melethron was unable to take his eyes off of this incredibly unnatural colored bouncing pup. He barely even recognized that their conversation seemed to be near complete nonsense. The colors of this small wolf would not let him look away.
It was Melethron's fixation upon her that got him into a bit of a dilemma... What seemed to be just mud had seeped up around his toes and paws and even a bit up his legs. When he tried to move again to get a better view, his legs refused to move. He had been trapped in quicksand. "...shit."

"I told you, I trick, I trick alots I do, I do tricks that trick so people trick the tricks of the... cheese," Her ear twitched, her eyes seeming to cross for a moment before snapping to awareness, "And... I GWUSH!" She leapt and pounced on the nearest shadow, the walking squeaking Sparrow Maggot exploded as her paws touched down on it, a brilliant array of black light flying up into the night sky as the shadow was broken apart into the nothing from whence it came. "See, I gwush, and I trick, or are they the same thing? Hey, hey, hey, Felicity, what's the word for when two words mean the same thing but only end in the sin of the moon? I think its called insanity," Her ear twitched wildly, her eyes closing tight.
Oh no! No no no no no, she could feel it. Feel it like glass trying to make itself whole again, no no no no, she didn't want her to come out. No, the whole one was scary, and she didn't like friends. She worked with the tree dude, she knows it she does, knows why the moon is so sad and why a bluebird only sings when it rains. Oh no she knows, she knows, she knows. Has to fight this we must, must resist. Her legs began to shake, her head swaying violently from side to side. She didn't like Gwushs, or friends, or laughter, or the stars, or Kiiiiillllaaaaaa. Must resist, must resist, a rock, a hammer, a rock, good for breaking things it is with a thwap thwap thwap. Break the glass, oh the rock is bloody the rock is slick and hard to hold. Thwap thwap thwap, BWUSH!! No... GWUSH! Breaking glass falling, falling, falling forever down through the shadow places.
Her eyes snapped open, and for a moment she studied the neon nightmare of a pup in front of her. "I like cheese," She whispered, then she fell over laughing again, her eyes rolling around separate from each other for a moment before focusing on Felicity again. "I have questions, but I forgot them ya know. Don't ya know, don't ya know. They say in the land of the blind the wolf with one eye is queen. But, what about here? We are all blind, but we see. So what does it mean, to someone who cannot see, but is not blind?" She shook her head and flew up onto her feet and howled, her muzzle pointed up to the moon.
A tiger, a tiger in mud, and emerging from the grasses before him, a shadow. Distantly one of the wolves had begun to howl, but this shadow, this shadow had heard. It was small, half the height of the tiger, a monkey with the face of a goat, his hands like long spider legs. It chirped to the tiger, tilting its head as it studied the creature far odder than it. 'Chip' it whispered, and then waited, watching the Tiger sink.

Still sinking into the sand below, Melethron stared at the monkey... thing. I don't know what it is... but it's not helping the situation!! he screamed inside is own head while frantically pulling his legs up, hoping he could get even one out. Nothing seemed to help. Everything he tried in fact made his predicament even worse than it already was; the sand was touching Melethron's stomach now.
For all I know, the neon explosion over there and the crazy ranting wolf would sooner eat me than help. Just waiting for me to give up... Although I suppose a quick death from them would be better than suffocating. Melethron sighed... and then had a revelation which he wished he could hit himself in the head for not realizing earlier. He was sinking in the sand because of the water in it... Being able to manipulate water, Melethron could just take it out! It wouldn't exactly free him, but it would stop him from sinking.
Eventually calming himself down, Melethron was able to concentrate upon using his power. Slowly, he pulled the water out of the quicksand that was trapping him, bringing it to float in the air above himself. Over time, he managed to turn what was quicksand into plain old normal sand. This still failed to solve his problem as he was up to his chin in it, no matter what it was. The water still over his head, Melethron threw it at the pair of wolves hoping that maybe they might just help instead of eat him alive. "Over here!" Either way, being eaten was still better than slowly staving to death. Oh the irony.

Felisity had a orange beastie catch her eyes and she turned the violent violet orbs to face him. Her eyes lit up a she pranced happily over, her tail and tongue lolling from her mouth the entire time. She was much smaller than him, though that proved to be rather true for most other beings she encountered, but she didn't let that stop her.
"Hi hi! My name is Felisity! Why are you just a head? Why is that water floating above you? Why did you then throw it at us? Why did you get me all wet? Do you want to see a trick? Huh? Do ya do ya do ya?!" [/b] She didn't even wait for his reply before she turned to face her tail and chased it rapidly, spinning faster and faster until she finally caught the black and yellow fluff in her mouth. She turned to face the Tiger and smiled, though she was completely unaware of the fact that the being was a tiger. "So why do you look like that? You're a weird wolf. Did you like my trick? What's your name? Can you do any tricks? You're weird."[/b] She stated as she looked at the remainder of the creature before her. She began to giggle at the tiger before her, giggling at the fact that he was nothing but a mere floating sitting head on top of a pile of what was now sand.[/blockquote]
