Synopsis Of Thread: Enter Harbinger into the marshlands, an odd brute who's mission in life is to destroy those wolves with alternate lifestyles. He is met openly with hostility by Lydia, shortly joined afterwards by Kerrigan. Lydia and Harbinger exchange snide and hostile words before Harbinger leaves for the plains.

Absolutely sickening.[/b] Glancing around from bog to bog, Harbinger found the idea of tramping through the Nigori Marshlands to be absolutely sickening to the eyes and nose---not to mention touch. Despite the fact that this brute seemed so strong and confident, he abhorred the feeling of muck squishing between his toes after every step he took. The chaotic geography of the lands made it nearly impossible for Harbinger to cloak himself in shadow, meaning that hunting was not on his 'fun list' for the day. The more and more the black brute advanced through Nigori, he found himself despising the land almost as much as he despised wolven deviants. Despite the horrific stench and unbearable softness of the ground beneath him, Harbinger had no other intention than that of continuing the hunt---as well as his quest for finding a mate for the sole purpose of reproducing therefore carrying on his family line. Love was a concept alien to the wolf. If there was any form of love in his life, it ended when his parents perished high in the Misuteriasu Mountains under the icy layers of an avalanche. Luckily for Harbinger, his parents had taught him the way of the hunt---and how important it was to slay deviant wolves who did not wish to reproduce and keep Aelyn populated. Wolves living alternative lifestyles sickened Harbinger to no end---he could not figure out why they engaged in such evil practices. "Dammit!" Harbinger grumbled as his left front leg sunk into a deep pit of muck. Relentlessly he pried his leg out of the disgustingly foul-smelling watered down ooze and continued on. Harbinger could not wait for night to fall, at least then he'd be able to conceal himself more easily. Deep down he wished he were home back at the Mountains---granted his home seemed non-existent now that different leadership established itself.

She was prowling, much like she always did. The muck and marsh beneath her paws hindered her in no way, for she moved with ease and grace that was almost unnatural. She flicked her crimson tipped tail and allowed her amber optics to scan the terrain, much like she always did. She easily scented any new wolves within the terra, for her senses were beyond the normal bounds of any wolf... or at least, any wolf that was not like her.
She padded slowly, gracefully, smoothly, her wings folded to her sides and her white scarf billowing around her as if it had a mind and a way of its own, even when she stood completely still and there was no wind. Her crimson paws with large, dagger-like talons, didn't even click when she stood on any of the rocks or hard parts beneath her feet.
She caught the scent of a brute, far before she had intended. She smirked to herself and gracefully made her way with elegance toward the area the brute had trespassed. She smirked even more when she found him struggling through the marshy underbrush and muck.
"Having difficulties?" [/b] Her voice was smooth and cool as she smirked. She remained rather hidden, though all that was purely visible of her through the shadows was her amber eyes, watching him in the distance. She chuckled silently to herself and slowly padded with great ease into his sight. She seemed to glide over the ground, her paws seemingly touching nothing but air, though this was very untrue... she was, indeed, treading on the lands, though her unnatural grace and poise gave wrong illusions.[/blockquote]

Harbinger bulked his muscular stature up once he noticed this wolf approaching. While this femme was somewhat attractive, her crude comment left him a tad bit irritated. Of all the pack landss, Harbinger always heard rumors that the wolves thriving in the Nigori Marshlands had the worst attitudes and dispositions out of the entire populous of Aelyn.
"No I really wasn't having that many difficulties...although that may have changed once you decided to grace me with your delightful presence.." muttered Harbinger as he proceeded to walk past this temporary annoyance.
Even though the desire to find a mate was one of Harbinger's priorities, his main mindset was to find deviants and destroy them before they ended up influencing other wolves with their demented lifestyle. Part of Harbinger admired the quietness the wolves of all pack lands seemed to adopt when it came to alternative lifestyle discussion---it made his job a lot easier and less hectic.

She smirked even wider as she turned her amber gaze to face him directly. "My my, aren't we testy today." [/b] She flicked her tail and quickly padded toward the brute with great ease and elegance. She stood directly in front of him and stared into his eyes. "So what are you doing in the Nigori Marshlands? Surely you would show respect for a pack member? And one that could so easily elude you within these lands? Honestly, where is your head... Clearly there is no common sense where you come from, stranger."[/b] she flicked her tail once more and sat gently upon a stump that was nearby. She wasn't intentionally sounding harsh or mean, it was just within her temperament to do so.[/blockquote]

Harbinger stopped in his tracks and let out an elongated sigh as this mysterious wolf stopped him. Part of him did feel a bit disrespectful for just wanting to move on ---so he decided to take a break from his constant trek and listen as well as explain a bit.
"What is your name...I may have heard of you. I'm well aware that there are certain members of this pack who enjoy blabbering about wittily." Harbinger muttered, lessening the harshness in his voice and reverting to a more sarcastic tone. "And common sense seems to be bereft of the wolve's here as well---apparently you don't know who you are dealing with my dear. I'm not traveling across these lands only to banter spineless words with a spineless Nigorian Harlot."
Harbinger flicked his tail about playfully, knowing that he would likely not get a rise out of this femme. After all he admired her clever wit---he loved seeing that in a female.
"My name is Harbinger by the way."

She flicked her tail and gazed at him with her piercing amber eyes. The white scarf floated gently around her form, though she was still as a statue and no wind blew. Her long talons were easily seen at the base of her paws.
"Names are a very powerful thing to give away. One would think that it would be unwise to so easily say it. However, since you have shared yours with me, it's only proper I give you mine. You may call me Lydia. I'd be fairly surprised if you've heard about me. I'm not one that leaves that much of an impression on others, for one reason or another. And if you have heard of me, it wouldn't be much, because only I know myself more than anyone else... and no one knows that much about me in the first place, though I somehow know much about everyone else, Harbinger... For example, I know that you hunt wolves for reasons of alternate livings. Do I seem in any way afraid? Obviously not. It is you, who doesn't know they confront, darling." [/b] She smirked at him and flicked her tail again. When she didn't consciously flick her tail, she seemed so unnaturally still, so she had adapted little cues to ease those who often would feel fear from her. She had a natural predator scent and many who were anywhere close to their survival instincts always had their hair stand on end when she gazed at them much like she was with this brute, for there was something obviously about her that no one ever seemed to be able to put their paw on.[/blockquote]

Harbinger chuckled in the depths of his throat, nodding in amusement at Lydia's intended sarcasm that seemed to go through one ear and out the other. Nevertheless, this wolf did peak Harbinger's interest---she had an odd 'different' vibe that seemed even more appealing than before. He admired her courage around him, often many wolves would be so terrified that they'd completely avoid contact with him at all costs.
Acutely, Harbinger focused his white pupils upon Lydia---attempting to ascertain whether or not her intentions were to either intimidate him, or be friendly. Normally Harbinger could tell by a wolf's body language how their personality functioned as well as how as they behaved. Unfortunately in this instance, Lydia seemed so composed that reading her body language was nearly impossible. Yet another aspect of her that he found intriguingly attractive.
"I highly doubt you have an alternative lifestyle anyways---so you have no need of fearing me. I do admire your somewhat arrogant spirit, it does indeed remind me of my own." Harbinger muttered with a slight grin forming on his face, "But to save time I will cut to the chase. What do you think of mating with a proud wolf of a proud family?"

Lydia flicked her tail consciously and listened to him. He seemed so very arrogant, which caused her to want to pick at him some more, though that was mostly her nature. She smirked at him and responded calmly. "My my, first we're so snippy, and now we're so forward. You are an odd one. One might think that one such as yourself is naive to the thoughts and feelings of others in the fact you come off as very outspoken... almost to the point where some might find it stupid, to put it into plainer terms." [/b] She smiled as she paced around him quickly, nearly too quick for it to be natural, before she sat in front of him once more. "As for mating... you hardly know me. What makes you think that I'm the one that would be best to provide pups, or if I'm even able to? Who's to say I've not tried in the past? Or have I? Obviously there is a lot that you don't know about those around you and the proper etiquette in courting. Do you even know if I would remain faithful? You know nothing about me, therefore, what makes you so sure that you would want to mate with me?"[/b] She smirked, knowing her words were more than true. How was one wolf to know if a wolf they just met was capable or even willing to even fathom mating with yet another stranger.[/blockquote]

[/color] he said, the thick brogue rippling. "Bu', loner Harbinger, I suggest ye take yer plans an' act like a polite beast. Ifn' ye do indeed wis' a mate o' me wee Lydia," he continued, the easygoing note in his voice a threat. His green audits gave a slight flick as he shifted, the long legs easy in the mud and muck. Harbinger threw his head back and laughed chaotically at Lydia's attempt at insulting him. He was so used to hearing insults from other wolves---in fact he dealt with such slander on a day to day basis. Harbinger almost found it complimentary for a wolf to dedicate her time to actually go out of her way and insult him. He did find it ironic that she was insulting him for the very same behavior she was conveying.
"Well Lydia my dear, it appears as though we have more in common that I was lead to believe." Harbinger chuckled as he noticed another wolf approaching. "Not to mention I don't really care about loyalty...I just want to carry on my heritage."
"Ahh! I figured you were the leader of these lands. Have any deviants I need to kill? Any pestilence problems?"
Harbinger sat down and wrapped his tail around his legs awaiting an answer or input from either wolves. Part of him wanted to just deal with more deviants and call it a day.

Lydia sneered at him as he spoke. She was nothing like him. She was nothing like anyone around her, and she knew it. Granted, there may be traits that were similar, but that doesn't mean that she was like him. She flicked her tail and spoke up again, hoping Kerrigan wouldn't mind, not that it mattered much. She was fully capable of making it on her own.
"I'm nothing like you, so don't you dare say that again. Oh, and as for your deviant killing offer, I think we can handle the pack lands around here without your help." [/b] She gazed at him with her piercing amber eyes and sat entirely still. She could have been mistaken for a shadow beside her leader, had it not been for the fact that she was obviously corporeal. She waited for Kerrigan to make a move, or even this brute, Harbinger. She wasn't about to be taken for granted for her specific talents that she possessed.[/blockquote]

Harbinger threw his head back and laughed in the midst of the two wolves---acknowledging the fact that he didn’t seem to fond of either of them. Despite how anti-social Harbinger seemed to be, he enjoyed going from pack land to pack land acquainting himself with different wolves.
“Now who’s the one getting testy? Do forgive me if I offended your gracefulness.” chuckled Harbinger as he proceeded to get up and pace away.
Before he made his striking exit, Harbinger turned around one last time to address the two new acquaintances.
“You may be able to handle various social things within your pack land---however I am here to deal with the deviants unless you want your beloved land to not flourish with a young, vibrant and strong upcoming generation.” Harbinger nodded with confidence, “Good bye, pups.”
The dark wolf flicked his tail and chuckled at his final comment as he departed swiftly, delving deeper into the Nigori Marshlands making his way toward the Kumori Plains where he would have a more successful hunt.
[Harbinger has exited the area]
