Synopsis Of Thread: Torn between doing what was best for her pack and following her heart, Chevara ponders on accepting Kerrigan as her Alpha. The two wolves discuss the rise in loners in the marshlands. |
. He flicked his ears back and then forward again to catch sounds. He yawned and stretched, back end raised, elbows to the ground. He stood to his paws, blinking and licking his jowls. Well, he could use a rabbit. And if he could find the new Alphess he could continue wooing her. He'd been doing a fine job, or so he thought. He left her alone but for occasional teasing. Left her presents of rabbits and other things. he kept the camp clean, the borders patrolled. Scared loners out. Well, if he didn't want any other suitors coming along and he didn't want his future land to be overrun. He swished his tail and bounded off his little platform of dry soil and landed in the cold muddiness of the ground. Ah. Home sweet home. He rolled his eyes and leaped forward, from freezing puddle to freezing puddle and occasion dry soils. The marsh was good for his big paws and thick but short fur. It was good on him. He lowered his nose to the ground as he slowed, picking up the scents of prey. He grinned. Bunny here he comes. He bounded forward, flushing the furred creature. It got stuck in mud along the way and it's hurried pass slowed. He grinned and plowed ahead, leaping forward to catch it with long, saber fangs in a bone crushing grip. Blood ran down his muzzle as he sat down and adjusted his grip. He rose and shook out his pelt, mud flying. He scowled and zapped his pelt. No mud. He smiled and raised his head, leaping back toward camp with a meal. She had to be hungry. Wherever the many tailed female was.[/ul][/blockquote]

Chevara sat at the opening of her den, deep in thought. The brute, Kerrigan, had been leaving her gifts of rabbits at her den entrance, a sign he was still interested in doing things right. She looked around.. her camp had been cleaned and looked fine, thanks to him... He was really trying and this is what set her into thought. She had a feeling he would continue to do this and pretty much try to get her Alphen position or mate her in any means necessary and that's kind of what bothered her. Sure, she did need to find an alpha, that was important... considering it was the mating season, none of the lands had a set of alphas, and you never know what you would need to do in order to save and keep your lands. Pups needed to be born.... if her pack were to survive. She knew of 4 other wolves on her terra, but she hadn't gone to check that out yet only because she had been dealing with Kerrigan, her only pack member that has been around and actually doing something for the pack.
She sighed to herself. She could sense Kerrigan's energy on the packlands... hunting she assumed... and she waited patiently at her den entrance. He was trying very hard.. perhaps she should accept him as her alpha... but what would happen then? Surely he would try to take things over... Chevara had an odd feeling about him that there were things that she wasn't sure about with this brute. She was contemplating a lot, taking all considerations... and as of right now, her best option both for the pack and for her lands, was to take Kerrigan as an alpha... but what if that ended badly? She would have to keep her hold on her pack... she wouldn't let him take total control... she would still have her place and have her ruling over what happened in the pack and where.. she could hold her own if needed and she wouldn't take any crap from this brute should he decide to do it.
This pretty much made up her mind... she was going to accept his offer... if things continued as they were... though she wouldn't take things belly up... no... she would hold her ground and not just roll over and let him take over. Of course, she would have her own plans set up.. she wouldn't let him have it too easily... no... she would make him work for it... he would have to court her and make her feel like he was the one that was for her and that he would be the best choice for her packlands... otherwise, her decision would change and she would still be the only alpha of the lands.
She waited patiently for Kerrigan to return, knowing fully that he was on his way back to her den and the camp area. Her tails curled around her as she sat on the rocky area of the dens deep within the marshlands.

he asked, raising an eyebrow. She was unusually quite. She usually snapped at him by now. He prodded the rabbit closer to her paws, giving her a roguish smile. His attempts at getting her to like him at turned softer. It was strange. He grinned more, asked about her problems - not that she told him about them but still. He swished his tail and sat down, haunches holding him up. He stayed almost straight, close to her height, but not past it. He didn't want that on her mind. He didn't openly criticize her either. What was wrong with him? He snorted at himself. It was nothing. She was just intriguing to him.[/ul][/blockquote]

Chevara nodded to Kerrigan as he approached. Yes, she was right.. he had gone hunting. He could tell something was on her mind as well... not exactly a good thing.. She didn't like to share too much with others... a trait that has saved her much in the past and a trait that she wasn't about to change right now.
Kerrigan tore the rabbit in half and took the hind end, the smaller piece. She appreciated his gesture of giving her both the better half and the larger half. He was really trying. After he had asked her what was wrong, she flicked her ears and tails in a quick gesture. She wasn't quite sure she wanted to spill out everything she was thinking to the brute, even though it involved him.
She looked at him calmly and wolf-grinned. "Nothings wrong. Just thinking." She flicked her tails again as she continued to think. It was then that she realized she hadn't even taken a bite out of the rabbit, so she lowered her head and took a big bite from it. It tasted so good... she hadn't realized how hungry she was. She quickly continued to eat, enjoying her meal. When she finished, she licked her maw to rid it of the extra blood before turning back to Kerrigan.
"That was very kind of you to bring me a rabbit. It tasted very good." She didn't know quite what to say, so she sat in silence until he decided to speak again.

he woofed to her, his grin turning into a smirk. "Anything interesting about with ye? I found nothing different and nothing wrong here abouts. Though there are a few loners out that way," he said, pointed with a paw, "and I was wondering what to do. Scare them out? Ask them what they want?" he questioned. The group had been talking and he'd let them be. He didn't want to do anything with that large of a group without Chevara's permission.[/ul][/blockquote]

Chevara nodded, acknowledging his grin. She could feel his energies and she knew that he was glad she decided to eat her meal.
Then he brought up the fact that there were loners on her terra. Yes, she had known they were there.. though she had let them be for a while in hopes they would leave or join her pack. She sighed as she turned to Kerrigan and spoke.
"Yes, I realize the loners are there.. they've been there for quite some time. I wasn't sure what they are planning to do, so I let them be for the time being, but I feel it is time we approached them. I shall go with you... we can deal with them together." It wasn't that she didn't trust him.. not that at all. She just figured since it was her pack lands that she should be there to question them as a good Alphess would.
"They have been upon these lands long enough without acknowledging my leadership, or even announcing themselves. They either need to join my pack or move on off of my lands. I think that's fair enough.. considering." She flicked her tails as she stood slowly. She turned off toward where the wolves were and began to pad that direction. These loners needed to be dealt with and it was about time she took charge and acted like an Alphess.
