Mira rolled around in a pond near Lucid's cave. She rarely left his side unless it was needed or they just wanted to be alone. At the moment, she didn't know where he was, nor did she much care, it wasn't like she was his alphess or anything.
She layed on her back happily, soaking up the heat of the sun and coolness of the water. A perfect combination. She glanced at the edge of the pond, making the water judder and cause small waves. It was like a cool water jacoozi. She closed her eyes and licked her teeth.
Life was amazing at the moment. Perfect weather, perfect place, perfect fur, etc. She grinned and let her tongue roll over her bottom teeth and out of her mouth. Her tail swayed happily in the water, causing the waves to increase.

Lucid soared above, taking a quick look of his territory. He wanted to keep borders strong and patrol going well as to keep all of his land and to make sure no other wolf tried to claim what was already owned by him. He noticed one of his pack members laying down on the melting ground and decided to drift down to her and start a conversation.
Lucid had finished his errands and patrol and thought it might be a good idea to get to know his pack better... starting with this femme.
"Hello, Mira. Soaking up the fresh sunlight of the newly found spring?"[/b] He smirked at her, the closest thing he ever got to a smile, and sat down a few feet from her. He thought for a moment, wondering if she would reply.
"Mind telling me a little more about yourself?"[/b] He wolf-grinned at her, getting straight to his intended point. No use beating around the bush, right? He figured if he were going to et information from his pack, that he should be straightforward and honest about everything.. that was part of his philosophy.
"I'm sure you have some interesting stuff to talk about with your history, do you not? Surely someone like yourself would have something interesting about them. You are, after all, rather interesting yourself."[/b] He looked at her with his glowing orbs, which incidently, still glowed even in the sunlight.
He wrapped his tails around his large paws and waited for her to reply. His muscles barely moved, as he could almost pass for a statue, though that's how he always appeared.

Mira jumped, startled by the quick apperance of Lucid. She flipped over, still laying in the pond. She lolled her tongue back into her mouth and grinned. She laughed casually. "Why yes, this spring is quite nice. Care to join me?" She smirked sweetly.
She watched him intently. Why did he want to know so much about her past? She shrugged it off and smiled, her tail flicking softly. She was trying to get him to move or atleast blink. He had gorgeous eyes, but he needed to loosen up a bit.
"Well, my parents were in a pack. I have two brothers. The alpha and alphess passed on. The alpha made my father the new alpha, which made my mother his alphess. My parents didn't want my brothers and I to just know how a single pack acted, so they let us loose. One brother went north, one went south. I was left alone. So I have been pack jumping since then. I was actually on the run untill you found me. I go a little to close to an alpha's son and he didn't like it. I caught him on fire... he was of the air element.... Needless to say, he wasn't so happy so I ran. So thank you for taking me in." Mira laughed casually, "Happy? Now, do you care to tell me about yourself?"
She flicked her tail some more, teasingly, and tauntingly. Hoping that Lucid would fallow it with his eyes.

Lucid smirked at this femme. He knew that she was trying to get him to move, so he decided to go along with it. He was acting very out of the ordinary for himself, though he knew the reasoning. It was that time where tensions would rise and the Alphen brute was to choose an Alphess. Who would he choose though? He still needed to figure out which one would prove to be the most suitable Alphess.
"That's all very interesting. So you have two brothers? It seems to me like your pack life was rather nice, aside from the slight misfortunes that have befallen you."[/b] He looked at her and smirked again, flicking his tails and adjusting his wings.
"Oh, you want to know about me? Well, I grew up in a very powerful pack that was a far distance away from here. Let's just say that things didn't go well and the pack... split up, so to speak."[/b] He was never one to give way to too much information about him or his past, so he gave up what he thought was safe for her to know.
"Back to you, Do you plan on staying in this pack? I assure you that it would be a wise decision, all things considered. Might I say, by the way, that I have never seen a creature with the looks that you have."[/b] He wolf-grinned at her as he continued to flick his tails, keeping some sort of movement going. He had glanced at her tail for a brief moment, which is what triggered his tail to begin to flick as it was.
He looked at her, making sure to keep his tail and movements going while he waited for a reply from her.

Mira watched him move. It was nice to finally see him loosen up a bit. She stepped out of the spring and shook her body, shaking excess water dropplets from her fur. She made she sure she splashed him. She grinned happily at him.
"Yeah it was alright. It wasn't perfect, but it was nice." She layed next to the spring continuing to move her tail.
"Ah, well, I'm sorry the pact fell apart... You seem to have a nice one building here though." She smiled at him happily. It was nice to be relaxed around him.
"I do plan on staying with this pack, unless you think otherwise. I hate being a burden and getting in the way, and seeing as you are the alpha, you have the power to do with what you wish of me." Mira blushed at his last remark. She wasn't to sure on what he meant as to her looks. "Er, is that a good thing?" She asked softly.

Lucid smirked again at her last comment.
"Yes, that would be a good thing. It was a compliment... I guess I'm not the best at giving them..."[/b] He looked at her with his golden optics, as he had noticed that she had purposely splashed him, though he didn't mind it, oddly. He actually smirked even more when she did that.
"You're more than welcome to stay.. it's at least nice to have some sane company around the pack... I'm sure you noticed Aydan's perkyness and I am sure I don't need to get into Sinis' attributes? She's the omega, just to let you know."[/b] He smiled at her, a rarity on his part, and flicked his tails calmly.
"It's nice to see you more comfortable now. I hope that your comfort lasts and that you will stay. I assure you I will not force you out unless you betray me, which I cannot see a lovely femme such as yourself doing."[/b] He smirked at her again, cocking his head to one side slightly as he complimented her again. He saw her blush last time and it made him... dare he think... happy? He was glad to see her happy.

Mira laughed softly. He was definitely loosening up now, which her smile widened. And, he was complimenting her, which made her smile even wider. "Haha, it's fine. There's a first for everything."
She stood up and walked over to him, sitting infront of him. She did her best to look him in the eyes. It was difficult however, due to the fact that Lucid was so much larger than herself. "Yeah, you could say I'm sane company." She laughed casually.
"I would definitely not even think about betraying you. You seem like the honest type, and I'm the honest type, so I wouldn't want to try and ruin that all." She smiled happily at him, glad to see him somewhat relaxed and it seemed to be that he looked a bit happier.

"Honesty is the best policy."[/b] He said as he looked down at her, making it easier for her to look him in the eyes. Yes, he loved his size, an intimidation factor, but it did have it's downfalls. He was tall compared to most other creatures and that made it difficult to hold eye to eye conversations.
"Yeah, I guess there is a first time to everything. I'm sure there will be many firsts with this newly forming pack."[/b] Yes, Lucid was most definately flirting... something he wasn't used to, but still was obviously capable of.
"You are rather beautiful."[/b] He smiled as he took in her delicate features. She seemed to be honest and truthful, which was a good quality for a good pack member... and a good Alphess. Lucid had the feeling that things would look up soon and the season's tidings will be quenched.
He flicked his tails and smiled again, his muscles relaxing. If he did choose an Alphess, he would have to appoint a beta for the mating time for the two Alphas, and his best bet, as of right now, would be Aydan, considering Baztek was nowhere to be found.
Lucid thought this in a matter of seconds while he waited for the femme to react to his words and his new compliments.

He had watched from the shadows long enough, not that he had spied purposely, not that at all. The white loner had merely choose the wrong spot to lurk apparently. He had only been sitting in the shadows, something he tended to do often. It was only by chance that the fae Mira had happened by, and soon followed by the alpha. The white quickly regretted the spot he choose. There were few things that the lone actually felt, and one of them was a not-wanting to be near the alpha Lucid. Who the lone used to be on the inside contradicted with every word that Lucid spoke and every foul breath that he drew. The thoughts from the lone toward the alpha were short and sweet…he hated him. And in his hating for the fiery-winged, midnight brute, the white lone wanted him to have no moment’s peace or second of happiness, so as the black alpha began playfully flirting with the fae Mira, the lone white was obligated to end whatever ‘nice’ thoughts or intentions Lucid had in mind.
Baztek walked silently from the shadows and into the view of Lucid and Mira. Without even casting either of them his dead gaze, the ragged white walked on as if they weren’t even there and in doing so he made a beeline right in between them, shoving both of them away from each other slightly. And he kept walking, as if nothing happened. His ghost form only stopped to lean and drink from the cool pond.
Deep within him, Baztek’s dark heart waited sickly with wild anticipation to see what anger or rage Lucid would project.
And Baztek couldn’t wait to make the alpha seem as a short-tempered, raging fool. [/blockquote]

Mira smiled sweetly. Lucid seemed to be flirting with her, which she was greatly enjoying. He even made it easier for her to look into his eyes, which most males wouldn't do to begin with. "Yes, honesty is one of the great policies. And firsts are always nice. Without a first, the world would be quite lame, don't you think?"
She looked down at her paws as he complimented her again. He was getting quite good at it, she had to admit. She blushed softly, her tail turning a darker cream as though about to ignite. "Why thank you. You're not to bad looking yourself." She smiled up at him and licked her teeth softly.
She continued to look at him untill some object pushed her away from Lucid. She spun around quickly, ready to stand her ground. Her tail quickly lit on fire as she caught site of this strange male wolf. "And the purpose for that, was?" She asked bluntly. Her voice was drentched in anger. He seemed angry about something as well. And he also seemed like the type Mira often stayed away from. A deep growl roared up from her chest. Whom ever this other wolf was, she didn't like him. Not in the least bit.
Mira stood beside Lucid awaiting his next move. Whatever orders he gave her, she would take. She was a part of the pack now and she wasn't going to do anything to screw that over. She didn't take her eyes off of this new wolf. Her ears perked up in alert, taking in every sound they could.

Lucid smiled at Mira as she complimented him as well. Things were going well and it seemed as if Lucid had finally chosen his Alphess. All he had to do was tell her.
Lucid opened his maw to respond to her and request that of her when he sensed the presence of another.... a dark presence and he turned his head quickly, just as the white brute walked between them, to catch his amber, lifeless eyes for a brief moment before he so rudely shoved himself between him and his potential mate.
"Baztek! How dare you do such a thing. Haven't I told you that you need to show respect toward an Alpha? Especially since you tread MY packlands!"[/b] The air around Lucid grew warmer as his temper rose. His eyes began to turn from a golden yellow to an orange yellow as he glared at the white brute.
"Now, leave. You walk up on my lands and you dare disrespect me? Leave now before I am forced to make you leave."[/b] A deep growl rumbled from deep within his large torso as he continued to glare at the brute. The sound, menacing and angered, seemed much louder than it actually was as it carried around the trio of wolves. His tails lashed behind him as his muscles tensed again. His hackles raised as he stood tall, an Alphen stance, and waited for the white to make his move. He wouldn't lay down and take this kind of disrespect.

Baztek’s tail flicked with both of their snaps. He didn’t care. Lucid, he knew, was only flaunting false threats and ‘intimidating’ words, Baztek wouldn’t take any of them to mind, and he didn’t even know Mira but from what he had only observed, she was ignorant, young and in no control of her emotions. Even Lucid with his short fuse held back from lighting it immediately, she had flared instantly.
Not moving from his lowered position over the pond, Baztek responded in the way that he was expected to; voice cold, relaxed, eerily smooth and dead. ”I show respect to alphas…” He stood and turned, walking back the way he came, separating the two Mountain wolves. Without stopping he continued, ”…I just don’t see one anywhere.” It wasn’t the best of his heartless comments, but it would infuriate the black brute, and Lucid’s temper could only take so much.
So now what would this Mira think of the flirting male, the one who called himself an alpha, but couldn’t even command a loner to heed his orders? And Baztek was sure, as soon as she could see exactly what temperament that was held behind the ‘lovely flirting’ exterior, she wouldn’t have much left to think of. [/blockquote]

Mira stood there in complete and utter astonishment. Who does this wolf think he is? Her tail turned a bright blue as her anger increased. He was cold and diserved no more than a flea. "You have got to be kidding me, yeah?"She thought of catching him on fire, but then quickly thought of how Lucid would think of her. If he was to think of her as anything other than just a pack member, she would have to control her anger quickly.
She quickly shot a glance at the water from the pond and flicked it onto her tail, dowsing the fire immediately. She sat down quietly but continued to glare harshly at this lame Baztek wolf. She fallowed him, her eyes peircing threw his fur and skin. How could he not obey Lucid? Why wasn't he obeying? Mira definitely had a few questions to ask when this was over.

Lucid's growl grew as his eyes illuminated in intensity, turning from the orange-gold to a deep crimson. This brute was to show respect... one way or another.
"How dare you. I am Alpha of these lands and I will put you in your place!"[/b] He growled... before anyone knew what was happening, the area around them had grew in heat intensity, the water began to boil, as Lucid charged a fireball and aimed it straight toward Baztek.
It was quick, merely a fraction of a second, when he launched the fiery blue fire toward the brute, not the hottest, but still hot enough to inflict damage if it were to come into contact with the brute.
Lucid released the fireball with such speed and such force that it scorched the area around them and the pond behind them had begun to steam from the intensity of the heat.
((Short post, yes, but I can't say if it hit Baztek or not, that's up to Punkeh))

The view of the white Baztek was blocked from both Lucid and Mira’s as the large fireball streamed through the air directly toward his body. It seemed that it would be a dead hit for sure…it seemed.
Baztek had known Lucid would react this way, and he was ready for it, or more accurately, his heart was ready for it. The darkness within him was yearning and lusting for what anger Lucid would project into the atmosphere, so of course no objection was made when Baztek taunted and tried the blunt brute’s patience to it’s end (which didn’t take much time or effort at the least).
The fire that flew through the mountain’s air hit directly on Baztek’s hind. But as the flaming weapon seemed to contact with his white fur, only the tips at the very end were singed black, the rest of the fire’s energy dissipated around Baztek’s body with a surge of dark energy and a deafening hiss. The faint smell of singed fur wafted through the air…but that was all. No burnt flesh, no cry of pain or agony…only a gentle stinging scent of burned fur. Baztek’s rear, just above the base of his tail, was no longer white, but instead held an arrangement of black scorch marks and grayed furs where the fire had ever-so-lightly graced his hind. The white wolf turned and smiled…
…his eyes were no longer dead, in fact, it was as if he held no eyes at all; only black empty pits took the place where former dead, lifeless golden eyes had been. A deep, sick chuckle racked the white form…mocking…mocking…mocking…
”Dearest Lucidity…” the voice was no longer cold or unfeeling, but now mocking and dripping with smooth venom that wound into one’s head and stung all their senses. ”…places are meant to be put by the alpha, which you cannot possibly be…” [/i] The white form turned and began walking slowly towards the two it had recently passed. ”…alphas are honorable, protective, loyal, respectful and most of all…well-tempered…” The endless pit eyes turned to Mira. ”…does the one who claims to rule her meet any of these…guidelines?”[/i][/size][/blockquote]

Mira sat there not uttering a word. She coward behind Lucid as the hot ball of fire seered from him. She bowed her head into her side and closed her eyes. Was this really happening? As soon as the heat cooled a bit, she looked to the side of Lucid, only to see Baztek walking towards them. Does this wolf ever give up?
She walked to Lucid's side and sat down. As Baztek looked at her, she met eye contact. She glared harshly, "I believe Lucid is honorable. I believe that he would protect me, along with any of the other pack members. He is loyal and respectful, atleast to me. And.." She paused and looked up at Lucid, giving him a kind smile. "Anyone with a heart can be easily pushed over the edge."

Lucid's growl increased as the brute continued to taunt him. He glared at him, his eyes still glowing a deep crimson. He lashed his tails behind him as he watched the white Baztek approach him.
The fireball had barely even scorched him! How could that be? After a slight pause at contemplating this, he realized he could sense an aura around the brute.. and he remembered there was a darker side to the brute that he had neglected to acknowledge before he attacked. He could almost tell that this is what the brute had been looking for and that he thrived off of his anger. Well, Lucid would put an end to it, with the help of Mira of course. Her kind words and confidence in him made things easier.
Now, Baztek... You have crossed me when I gave you the opportunity to join a pack of power. You have now blown your only chance to do so. Leave... never return... and you shall live forth your wretched existence you call a life. If you so choose not to leave, I will have you driven out by my pack and by whatever other forces I may use. I am a claimed Alpha, my pack recognizes me as an alpha... the other packs recognize me as an Alpha... I was the first here before any of the other lands were claimed, so you have no right in telling me I am not deserving of my position."[/b] He lashed his tails behind him as he regained his composure and refused inwardly to give in to the brutes wishes.
Lucid then turned momentarily to Mira and wolf-grinned. "Thank you, Mira. I'm glad you have the confidence in me that a true pack member would have in any alpha of theirs. You have my permission to attack if you so wish. This brute has defied and disrespected our pack and he needs to learn that that is not acceptable, am I right?"[/b] Lucid looked to Mira with eyes that actually seemed to care.... something that was unlike Lucid, but that was truly sincere with the brute.
This is when Lucid turned to face Baztek again. He growled deep in his chest, waiting for the brute to decide whether he valued life or valued death... which would he choose? Surely he knew that he wouldn't be able to take on three and a half wolves? Lucid had said a half because Sinis was neither useful in battle nor pointless to utilize.. she was still part of the pack and she could at least alter any magic that this brute had, considering magic didn't seem to work around her anyway... Lucid would have numbers and brute force on his side against his disrespectful mongrel.
Lucid looked directly at Baztek and spoke again. "You have been warned.. what you do from this point forward is your choice and your choice alone. You have disrespected and interrupted me when I was conversing with a pack member.. on my packlands none the less... now you have a choice. Leave now... or die. I will not offer this again."[/b] Lucid's eyes glowed bright crimson red as he said the last, final words. Baztek would have the opportunity to make his choice before his fate, at least for the Mountains and all that dwelled within it. Lucid waited patiently, his body tense and unmoving, almost statue-like, as he waited for the white to answer. The air around them was still and crisp, as if it were waiting for the exact thing that Lucid was waiting for.
A chill wind blew around them, bringing with it the remnants of the fallen snow and breaking ice of the river that flowed through the mountains to the cliffs edge. All was calm, still... silent.

”Then hide your weakness well fae,” [/i] the wicked white purposely leaned forward and into her face, his black pits burning dark holes in his words. ”Hide it well from the one you so choose as alpha.”[/i] His attention turned to Lucid, and even though the black one was taller than he, the white raised his neck high to meet Lucid’s chin with his maw; completely allowing his vital throat to flaunt exposed. He was not affected by this alpha’s poor showing of powers at the least!!! And although the white, with his void-darkened eyes, looked directly onto Lucid, he continued to speak to Mira. ”For this homicidal bastard will do nothing more than leave you to Hell’s mercy if you walk within his lustful path of power.”[/i] The white’s maw contorted into the most wicked of sneers that had ever graced a living form; mockery, hate, and a small glint of darkness, all compressed onto the look that the white lone gave to the alpha. And with that, the white stepped away. His expression smoothened into one of no feeling and his eyes gradually returned from the black void that had replaced them, giving both Mira and Lucid a dead’s gaze. Now he looked just as he had before. No feeling, no mockery, no darkness glinting within his features, and least of all no hate within his eyes. Cold, dead, still and empty was the feel that replaced the sudden spark of darkness and Hell that twisted through the air. Baztek turned to the shadows that he had come from without a word, but just before he stepped to disappear into the dark of the forest, Baztek turned back to Mira, a small hint of sadness crossing his mind. He truly did want her to heed his warning, such an innocent one should not tamper with hazards because of infatuation or sudden urges. If emotions could be felt, he was sure that sympathy would be given from him to her for her naivety of what was occurring before her eyes, but instead, the heartless Baztek could feel nothing…so he didn’t. The ghostly form turned away from the Mountain wolves and faded into the shady land.[/size][/blockquote]
