When Yuma first evaporated he had condensed in a humid, dark terra. Weeping willows kept the pulsing afternoon sun, from blinding his vision. His fur, laid flat and sticky against his skin. The air was so dense and hot, he instantly started panting to keep cool. Beneath him mud caked his oddly-colored paws. When he went to take his first step, it came up with a thick sucking sound. THRUP!
In as sudden frenzy, bugs of all sizes started to surround his head. Like they wanted a revenge of some sort. Yuma then realized that the bugs weren’t just surrounding him, they were surrounding the whole terra. The first five minutes and it was as if he landed himself in Hell.
He sighed to himself. I had it coming. It’s not the earth’s fault or the bugs fault. Its just the world’s defense mechanism against idiots like me… he thought, trying to keep positive over the whole situation. Hey, at least they hadn’t bit him yet!
The sun’s rays were small, scattered amongst the mud and muck. The tree’s had mostly everything covered in this area. Along with rocks, fungi and all that fun stuff. Yuma wasn’t really paying attention to the scenery, right at that moment. The bugs gave him enough welcoming to consider. No, he had matters at hand. In the air, was scent that he had been tracing while he was still in his mist form. It was near here, as a matter of fact, he could see it.
In the distance were hollowed out trees. Something that a wolf, well, his kind now, would use as a home. The chief’s smell was thick, just like the humidity of the air itself. There were others, none of them, unfortunately, that he could see. He rolled his eyes at himself, and pressed forward. No other way to make himself seen then to just stand right in front of one of the dens right? So that he did.
His slender, peach form, stalked over to the entrance of the den. A very dry, pink nose wiggled toward the entrance, and his multi-colored eyes peered into the darkness. There was something alive in there. What it was, he wasn’t about to find out the hard way. Nothing like the thought of getting your nose snapped off on the first day. Plus, it wasn’t like it hadn’t happened before.
Yuma stiffened at the memory, took a couple steps back, and made a loud smack as he sat his behind down in the mud. ...ewww... It was then that the bugs started biting…

Lydia had been laying in her den, enjoying the shade and the darkness that it provided. For once, she wasn't out patrolling the grounds, and decided it was time to relax a bit... or so she thought.
A scent filled her nose as she turned her amber eyes toward her den entrance. It seemed as if a brute, new to these lands and clearly unconditioned to them, had sat outside the den area. She smirked to herself, wondering how she could greet this loner, deciding for a new tactic. She allowed her eyes to glow slightly, peering out of the den area toward the brute. This was the only thing that was visible within the den area... piercing amber eyes.
"Greetings, loner..." She spoke, her voice floating lazily out of the cave. It was hypnotic and smooth as she spoke, her dimly glowing eyes looking directly at the brute before her. She flicked her tail, continuing to sit in the farthest reaches of her den, and waited. Would the brute approach? Her voice sounded oddly inviting and hypnotic, like it always did... or would he sit out there and allow the bugs to eat him alive? The bugs had never bothered Lydia... they knew better. Most wolves within their right minds would sense something off about the lovely black and blood red femora... something that made her different and almost unnatural. She would often sit unnaturally still and her very presence put most other creatures at an uneasy state. She was a large female, though only about the size of a fully grown male... nothing compared to Kerrigan, but that was okay with her. She was quite happy with herself... for the most part. She waited in the darkness. In her cave, it seemed even darker than the others, but she loved it and made it so. Her eyes glowed dimly in the dark, waiting for the brutes response.[/blockquote]

Yuma was shocked at the response time. He was half expecting a rabbit or bird to come fleeing out of the den, only to be startled by some wolf approaching him from the back. The whole place smelled strongly of wolf, and not being wolf by birth his nose always seemed to fail him.
Instead, amber eyes, started to glow from with in, giving Yuma a curious first impression. He had a feeling that these were not normal wolves, just like himself. Maybe this was where all the spirit guides go. He was beginning to think that the medicine man and the girl had a knack for changing enemies into there spirit form. He scoffed at the disgusting thought. Where can a man find some friendly company nowadays?
A soothing female voice arose from the den. It was alluring, welcoming him as a loner. Yuma tilted his head in curiosity, slightly taken aback. Serious? No, dominate growl or charging out at me? He suddenly felt as if he should move closer for a better look. Yuma shifted uneasily at the thought, trying to figure out how to go about this. Him being as tall and lengthy as he was, it probably turned out quite awkward and comical. Wolf communication was he down side. Even after two years of adjusting. Guess that’s what I get for being a rouge.
Yuma cleared his throat before talking. Thank you kindly. his voice was smooth and deep. He made sure he left it at an unthreatening note with a slight polite nod. I suppose your wondering why I have come here. Is there a che…. he stopped himself in mid-word. He reminded himself that there were no “chiefs” here, only alphas. Alpha at present? Yuma stayed rooted where he sat, calmly waiting for the female to emerge from her resting spot. His ears flicked every once in a while at the bugs and he tongue lulled out of his mouth as he panted from the heat.

Lydia watched the brute, her eyes unblinking. She stood slowly, padding forward into the light of the sun, though as she emerged from the den, it seemed to grow darker outside. She was using her Darkness ability to blot out the sun, though the only reasoning for this would be because its a nuisance to her, but he wouldn't know either of those things.
Padding forward, she emerged from her den, her size equal to that of an average brute. First came her maw and face, the longer fur on her cheeks tinged blood red, with two slightly elongated fangs protruding over her bottom lip. She wore a smirk on her face, as usual, and padded slowly out of the den. She almost seemed as if she were prowling instead of walking. Followed by her head was a white scarf around her neck that seemed to float gracefully around her, even if there was no wind. One dark leg emerged, then another, each paw looking as if she walked through blood, though clearly only her fur. Each paw had long, dagger like white claws, much longer than your average wolf. Upon her back were large, blood red bat-like wings that were folded to her sides with ease and poise. After her wings and paws came her tail, which was slightly longer than normal with the same blood red tint to the tip of it. Everything else about her pelt was blacker than black.
She sat at the mere entrance to her den and looked at the brute, her wings folded to her sides, her head turned directly at him. Her eyes held a faint glow to them, though this was considerably less than before. She sat still, unblinking, her paws poised gently in front of her.
"My dear, there are two alphas that grace these lands. Perhaps howling for them would bring them near?" Before he even had a chance to reply, she raised her dark maw to the air, releasing a haunting and hypnotic song to the air. It rang through the marshlands, carrying her voice eerily across the lands. Once she thought it sufficient, she ended her song and lowered her face back to the brutes. She smirked at him, not saying a word. She sat unnaturally still and her every feature, ever feeling other wolves would feel around her would be one of allure and drawing, along with unease and questioning. "Shouldn't be too long now." This brute didn't give her much to retort to him with, and this saddened her slightly, though nothing showed on her face. His reactions to her had bee must unlike most of the other wolves they had encountered, specifically Jess. She did not like Jess. At all.[/blockquote]

Kalypso had been wandering the pack lands, bored with just herself to keep busy. She had already flown that day and had already hunted. Most of the pack were still at the den, napping away their boredom. So, she was left with nothing to do. The fae decided she could, at least, patrol the lands keep things safe.
She was startled from her thoughts by a feminine howl. Lydia. A smile formed on her maw. The fae stretched her wings wide and leapt into the air, flapping her blue and black wing until she was soaring through the clouds. Kalypso let out a sigh. Oh how she loved to fly...Like each time before, the fae couldn't help but twist and turn in mid air. This was her passion, flying.
The fae saw Lydia up ahead, her figure unmistakable. The brute accompanying her was new, a stranger. Ah, so that was what all the raucous was about. A newcomer wishing to join? More than likely. Their pack was recieving alot of attention lately. Kalypso couldn't help but wonder why.
She landed a few ways back, not wanting to startle the pair. She tucked her wings close to her sides as she righted her messy pelt. As she walked up she nuzzled her nose to Lydia's shoulder breifly, indicating her presense. "Hello Lydia. I heard your call. Anything I can assist you with," she explained, sitting back on her haunches beside her pack mate. She curled her tail to her forepaws, swatting at a few annoying flies.

He lowered his head partially in curiosity, partially in respect as she emerged from her den. With each step his head and eyebrows raised in shock. His ear perked forward in attention. This female looked as if she had been in a brutal battle. He began to imagine what the other guy must have looked like.
She was much bigger for a female wolf, though not taller than he, bigger in thickness maybe. Yuma began to weigh the fact that maybe he should stay on her good side. His eyes began to get bigger as he realized that she had wings protruding from her shoulders. Wings? A wolf? he was utterly astounded with this fact. It had to be, it was right there standing in front of him. Her fur was blacker then night, maybe even blacker then his shadow. As he took in her appearance he had the sudden urge to circle her in amazement.
He stood in sudden briskness. His long blonde legs slowly intertwined with each other as he took a couple steps back, and he sat down again. He realized he couldn’t decide what to make of this female. Was she enemy or ally? Someone he could later on trust to help him out or someone to stay away from completely? Wings? He shook his head bewildered over the fact of her wings. Did they work?
Oh, howling…shoot, forgot I could do that. he chided himself humorously in his mind. He opened his mouth to do just that, unsure of what it would sound like. Yuma had never attempted to do such a thing before, but before even a breath was breathed she had done the job for him. He nodded in agreement and smiled politely. Thank you He voice firm and calm. Couldn’t have done better myself. In all honestly, he probably would have had a miserable time. He thought back to when he had a wolf cub of his own and how it tried to howl, but would come out in a snorting fit soon after. Yeah it probably would have been like that for him.
He thought about using the term of endearment, “dear” after his statement, but thought to better be against it. She didn’t seem the type to take kindly to endearments. He nodded again. Keeping calm, polite and giving her space seemed the best motive at this moment.
Not long after another wolf flew into the terra not far off from them. He loved the fact that she was trying to be generous, but dear God! Wings? Really? The new female’s fur was messy probably from hunting or whatever wolves do in their free time. She walked calmly past him and acknowledged “The Winged Shadow” before taking a seat next to her.
“No, But you can assist me ma’am” He bowed his head and shifted his eyes realizing how that must have sounded if wolves had the same humor humans did. Shit. he scolded himself. He took a deep breath and continued. ..I would like to accompany your pack, for the comforts of a home and family. In return, I will give the alpha or alphess my loyalty and protection. I have some experience as a scout, but in all honesty I have been rouge for most of my 5 years. Now he sounded desperate. Jesus, had he screwed up already? Is this where he submitted? Was this one of the alphas “The Winged Shadow” had spoken about minutes before?
Better safe then sorry.. He thought as he lifted his body off the ground. Yuma let his wolf instincts kick in. He tucked his tail in, pinned his ears down against his massive boney head, and kept himself lower then the two females that stood in front of him, hoping that none of them would take him as a joke. Just give a guy a break for once… he thought as he waited, the air around him nervous, yet confident in his accomplishment.

Lydia watched as the brute spoke. When Kalypso came by and landed near her, nudging her shoulder, she nodded. She hadn't really spent a whole lot of time with any of the pack members, but they still accepted her. Was it because they knew she could be dangerous if crossed? Or would it be because they were drawn to her, while at the same time wary? Either way, she had a place to sleep and food to eat, so this was good enough for her.
"I don't need any assistance." She smirked as the brute spoke up again. She flicked her tail behind her, the first movement she had made, aside from talking, since she sat down.. most unnatural for wolves. She didn't even seem as if she was breathing. She waited, a smirk growing on her face as his thoughts raced. Yes, she had been keeping tabs on his mind, but it wasn't like it was a crime. She could tell he was different than the other wolves... he was once human! This intrigued her more, having come across humans once or twice in her 157 years upon the lands. Her eyes sparked as he thought about how she looked, the wings and her appearance and she grinned slightly, though it was more of a smirk or sneer, as he seemed utterly astounded by wings. The flies seemed to stray away from Lydia, probably because they had more common sense than most creatures and could tell she was a deadly predator... it was probably because their size in comparison to hers, but who knew. He then submitted himself. She chuckled at this and her eyes glinted. "We are not alphas. You'll know them when you see them." She smirked, knowing he was nervous and very unused to the whole situation. She wasn't one to go easy on a wolf. She treated every wolf, save for Kerrigan and Zephora, the same. For the alphas, she showed at least a little respect, though probably not nearly as much as any normal pack member should. Then again, Lydia wasn't normal.[/blockquote]

Kalypso nodded her head to the brute and offered him a small smile. "I apologize, but I am neither an Alpha nor a Beta. I can not give you entry to our pack. I can, however, give you and Lydia some company while awaiting one," she said, her sapphire gaze looking between both the brute and the fae beside her. If she couldn't allow him a quick and easy entrance to the pack, she could at least give the two some company while awaiting their superiors. Her tail flicking to and fro at the flies. There were a few, but not enough to make her crazy.
"Might I ask you name?" she asked, looking the brute up and down. He had a rather intereating pelt, with mixes of pinks, oranges, yellows, and even black. What a colorful brute, she thought. She found her thoughts traveling to the fae beside her.
Kalypso had warmed up to the demonic fae, although most wouldn't and didn't. She believed they had a mutual understanding. If Kalypso didn't get in Lydia's way, Lydia wouldn't get in Kalypso's. If Lydia needed help or assistance, Kalypso would give it willingly. Simple. Eventually, Kalypso wants to be able to call Lydia friend. She knows she'll have to work for it, but it'd be worth it, she thinks.
Coming back to the present, the fae looked between the two wolves her blue eyes twinkling. The prospect of a new pack mate was thrilling and exciting. Their pack was becoming larger and more prosperous.

It wasn't a boastful laugh, too much of Yuma's delight. It was a chuckle, as if she herself was chiding him. He smiled and gave one small scoff in humor. It was embarrassing and if wolves could blush he would be doing just that, and quite brightly. Way to jump to conclusions. God what am I doing? This isn't me. Why do I care so much of what they might think of me?
Well, it doesn't hurt to submit to the ones, I know who are above me. I will give you respect.. For a split second he paused as if thinking of what to say next, but still tried to keep his apologies to a minimum. All he could find himself thinking unfortunately, was: As long as I get respect in return, that's all I ask, all I've ever asked. He looked up for an effect, and met both of their gazes as if to say something else. Instead he smiled and sat down again making himself comfortable with facing the two females. The other female besides “The Winged Shadow” had electric blue eyes and her whole pelt was that of an obsidian stone.
Quickly and without really thinking, he analyze her like one. Obsidian was used in his culture as a spear, mostly because of its strength and durability, but it was a good tool to make fire as well. It was created by fire and made fire. So in conclusion, he thought of her as able to withstand anger, and also had a nasty temper when struck the wrong way. Though she seemed harmless to him as of now.
This “Flying Obsidian Stone” seemed calm and carefree. How she spoke was polite and blunt just like “The Winged Shadow” had spoke to him before. He couldn't help but feel a bit of understanding toward them. They gave him patience, and in return he will give his.
He shook his head lightly at her apology. We have all the time. I'm in no hurry to be honest. Surprised that you guys haven't jumped my throat yet. Thank you for the welcoming. You guys are different...I mean...wings? Are all of you like this? Calm? Understanding? He stopped his questions there as the “Flying Obsidian Stone” asked for his name.
He lightly tapped his tail in the mud as if to apologize. I'm sorry. Yuma, and don't answer any of those questions. I'm afraid your appearances have just startled me. I'm not from here, obviously. Please, ignore my babbling, my ignorance. Tell me, if you wish, who you are and what you guys are all about. He nodded as if passing the torch of speech on to who ever wished to take it.
He glanced at “The Winged Shadow” again. He noticed that she was always so still. Spoke very little and as Yuma began to get used to both their presence as non threatening. He realized her intelligence made him uneasy. They way she looked at him. He knew, she knew something deep and dark about him. Quietly he thought: Tell me, what you know Then he averted his attention away from her and very calmly waited for some sort of reply, a spark, a word.

Lyidia listened as the brute babbled and as Kalypso described her position within the pack. She never took her eyes from the brute, as was her usual. She tested wolves, got a feel for their personality while she greeted them... its how she was with every wolf, and this brute would be no different... if you could even call him a true wolf. She laughed at this thought slightly in her mind as a small grin appeared on her face.
She didn't make a move to answer any of his questions... she often didn't. She was different than even the winged wolves that he felt so out of custom to... She had a trait about her that very few, if any, other wolves possessed. SHe was a vampire.... though, no one knew this but her, really.
When he thought his singular thought in his mind, her face grew into a half grin, but barely changed.... the movement would be hardly noticeable to anyone who wasn't looking for it, if at all noticeable.
I know more than you realize. was her only response telepathically. Her expression never changed as she thought this to his mind. He would find out soon enough what she was fully capable of if he stuck around long enough to do so... though, even Kerrigan wasn't fully aware of her. He didn't ask questions and allowed her to live in the lands, freely as a part of the pack... and he didn't question or prod into her mind or try to find out what it was about her that set her apart so much. She respected him for this and this was probably the only reason she respected him as much as she did. He was an alpha, sure, but she had never really shown any respect to an alpha before. Kerrigan was different... He seemed as if he didn't care what she was, so long as she was loyal to the pack. And that, she was.

Kalypso's small smile still present she said, "Don't worry about it, dear brute. We all have our mistakes every once and awhile." Hopefully that would comfort the bright brute and make him feel not as embarrassed. She knew that feeling well. It wasn't pleasant.
Her tail continued to sway this way and that, in lazy motions. Her blue eyes caught the brute's close examination of both her and Lydia. The two faes were interesting specimens to look at, she could admit. The odd thing was, he paid specially attention to both sets of wings. Almost as if he had never seen them on a wolf before. Now, it wasn't unheard of, but it was rare. Quite a few, if not most of the population had wings. Whether they be bird like, bat like, moth like, and so on.
It was rare for a wolf to have never seen them before. At his statement, her thoughts had been confirmed. The fae nodded her head at him. "Yes, there are quite a few of us who do possess wings. Although, there are some who don't, but not very many," she explained, even if he didn't wish for them to. She didn't mind, seeing as he wasn't from around here and Lydia wasn't going to. Kalypso took a quick look at the dark fae. She was definitly the strong, slient type.
Her smile definitely brightened at his introduction. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Yuma. I am Kalypso and this fae beside me is Lydia," she greeted, introducing both herself and Lydia. It was apparent Lydia wasn't going to do so, so she did it for her.

Yuma tilted his head to the side slightly. Watching the black and blood stained female. Lydia, was how the other female introduced her. He chuckled, finding it funny that Kalypso had taken into consideration his curiosity of their identities, how she scolded Lydia slightly without really confronting her about it.
He gave Lydia a sly smile as he heard her voice in his head. Lowered his head as if bowing in surrender. To anyone else it would look as if he were stalking her, watching her carefully. She was dark, intelligent, and to be completely blunt he didn't like the fact that she knew where he was from exactly. Fair enough he thought, already picking up on the fact she could read minds. All I ask is that you know and it doesn't leave this place... He quickly shifted his eyes as if thinking of something more, averted his two-toned eyes back to hers and quickly added: And that doesn't mean bring someone here and tell them...
He flashed a memory at her. This one, was of the moment the enemy chief had pressed a lit cigar into his eye, and then a flash of the first time he looked at his refection in water. Showing her how his left eye became the amber color it was. Yuma wasn't quite sure why he did it, maybe to show off a bit or to challenge what she was really capable of. He wasn't exactly sure himself.
He moved his attention to Kalypso. So there are others like me? A sort of pride arose in his chest. Damn thought I was the only one.. he thought ignoring the annoying feeling that Lydia was reading his mind. He decided to not ask what else they were capable of, seeing as he found that Lydia was a little bit different. It was something that he would find out on his own. Live and learn he thought.
He tapped his tail on the ground again. It's wonderful to meet you as well He nodded to them both in a sort elegant bow. Now, Who are these Alpha's you speak of? And if you don't mind giving a newcomer a overview of the pack that would be wonderful. Yuma was always elegant and polite in his ways. Always calm in what would be nervous situations. He never considered himself a lady's man, it was just how he was raised males and females are treated the same in his mind.
Kalypso seemed the type that would have no problem with being open and honest with him. She seemed innocent and care-free. Someone Yuma felt, he would come to know as a wolf with bundles of fun. They would be great acquaintances, friends wasn't really in his vocabulary. Though he might be wrong on that one too. Lydia seemed open enough but she had a wall up. In time.. He thought as he rolled his eyes at the thought. How come all females are like that? With the acception of Kalypso. He smiled at her for no reason at the thought. Such an energy bug Yuma found comfort in that.

Kalypso smiled at the brute as he became overjoyed and proud of himself. It was pleasant sight, seeing the happiness spark inside his different colored eyes. The fae loved being able to give that to others. She nodded her head toward Yuma, confirming his question. "Certainly. There are quite a few who are wingless. Yet, they have such extraordinary powers. Most if not all of us do. Have you discovered your yet?" she asked, curious. The brute was a looker, no doubt about that but his pelt didn't indicate what sorts of elements he possessed or whether he had any at all.
Her sapphire blue eyes, continued to look between her two wolf companions. "Well, the Alphas are Kerrigan and his lovely mate Zephora. I'm sure they'll be here soon, to greet you," she said informing Yuma of the Alpha and Alphess. In truth, they were both wonderful wolves and they balanced one another out. While Kerrigan held a firm paw, Zephora was kind and gentle. It always warmed Kalypso's heart to see them together.
It reminded her of her own mate, Iki. Her blue eyes seemed to glaze over at the thought of him. He was always so gentle and tender with her...Kalypso shook her head. Now wasn't the time. In the midst of her thoughts, the fae had nearly missed what the brute had to say next.
"Hmm, well, I know so few myself...Let's see, there's Kerrigan, Zephora, Lucia, Sini, Aquiel, Isabeau, Iki, Leorian, and then Lydia and myself," she said, using a paw to gesture between the other female and herself. "There's not much else to say. Iki and I are the only other mated pair in the pack.." she said, her gaze thoughtful. "Hmm, I guess thats it."
