Yuki was in a deeper part of the forest. Not far from the others but far enough that they could not really see what she was doing. Unless of course they saw were she went and followed her but she didn't mind if they did. As long as they were willing to keep what thy saw a secret and let her tell the pack once she was ready. Yuki quickly looked around to make sure that she had enough room. Then she foucused on thoughts ice cold. As cold as ice if not colder. Ice, ice, ice. My element is ice and it is a part of me. She thought intently. She was focused on ice and ice only. She focused so hard that she started to get cold and the ground around her got frosted over.
Ice is a part of me. It does not control me. I control it. She continued to say to herself. Then the ground farther away from her started to get frosted over as well. Then she opened her eyes and lifted her head up and to the side.
A thick wall of ice sprouted up from the ground in front of her. In the same direction as she had moved her head. The ice was stronger than you would think it was. Even though it was summer the ice wall was so strong that you think it was winter.
"I did it. I can control my shield." She then flicked her tail over to the other side of the wall an it expanded and became wider. Now one side her was blocked from veiw by the ice wall. She looked at it and walked around it to examine it to make sure that it was real and that it was as strong as it looked.

Weylyn saw one of the newer pack members, Yuki, padding off on her own. If Weylyn remembered correctly, Corrinth always appreciated wolves going off in pairs in order to go anywhere on the packlands, if only to give a sense of security. Noticing none of the other wolves had made a move to follow, Weylyn took it upon himself to do so. Karin, his adopted daughter, was off playing. He always worried about her, but she was growing older and he didn't need to keep an eye on her at every moment of every day.
Slowly, Weylyn padded through the trees to the area where Yuki finally stopped. He stopped as well as he watched, wondering what was going on. He noticed that she had seemed to be concentrating very deeply on something and he watched in awe as the ground beneath her feet had begun to freeze over... in the middle of Summer... Weylyn was caught off guard and continued to watch as the frost covered ground expanded and grew wider around her body.
Soon, she caused sheets and walls of solid ice to spring up and surround part of her and Weylyn was truly impressed. He smiled and padded forward when she seemed as if she wasn't concentrating as hard and he wouldn't interrupt her concentration, and smiled.
"That is a pretty impressive power you have there. I had no idea you were capable of that." His smile was kind and welcoming, no sense of hostility or anger in it... just Weylyn in all of his kindred grandeur. Sitting calmly next to her, a safe distance away as to not make her feel as if he were going to be threatening or anything, he smiled and waited for her response. If she wanted him to leave, he would gladly do so, though he knew that part of him would want to stay, if only to make sure she remained safe. Not that Weylyn didn't think she couldn't hold her own... it just made him feel better to know wolves were out in pairs, rather than alone, in case anything ever did happen.

Yuki jumped slightly when she heard someone talk to her. She knew someone would have followed her but she was still suprised for some reason.
"Sorry I did not know you were there." She looked as they way he moved, it shouted like he was not going to do anything.
"I don't think it is that special. It is only a shield of ice. Fire can melt it and it is not very fast. However it does tend to be at it's strongest on the night of the full moon. The new moon however I can't use it." She tried to explain.
She touched the ice with her nose. It was colder than ice in the winter, and it was summer. That means it would be more powreful in the winter.
"I have only used it a few times before, but now I can control it and bend it to my will." Then because she could she made it expand again. It grew taller and made a circle around Weylyn and herself. It surrounded the whole small clearing that they were in. The ice was still as thick as it was before it was made bigger.

Weylyn watched her as she spoke about her abilities, belittling them and he thought it best to try to encourage her to realize the abilities she possessed.
"Don't think that its nothing. This is a unique power... I've never seen any other wolf with it, for one, two, it could withstand fire long enough for you to think or come up with a strategy to counteract your enemy, if that were the case. There are so many possibilities... Think about it... If the pack were ever in danger, you could make an ice shield around them and protect them, even if it isn't that quick to put up, there could be enough distraction or enough warning to make it be useful. That is, if anything ever did come up like that." He smiled kindly at her once more and watched as she made the shield move around himself as well. He felt a slight chill when the shield went around him, but he brushed it aside and admired the beauty of the ice that surrounded him.
Flicking his tail ever so slightly, he smiled at her and gave a slight bow. "You really do have a magnificent gift, even if you don't think you do. Don't go thinking otherwise." He smiled at her again and stretched ever so slightly.
"The fact that it can be stronger and weaker at some points is both a gift and a curse, though... I mean, when you're stronger.. if its anything compared to this... imagine! And its always good to practice... I know I did when I first learned of my powers." He smiled kindly at her as he looked once more around the ice barricade around them. There was a faint mist coming off of it from the hot summer sun, but that only added to the beauty of the ice.

She realized that the ice had chilled him slightly as she listened to his words.
"It is a curse, my pack was killed on the night of the new moon. I tried to protect them but I couldn't. It is my fault that eleven wolves died that night. My mate and pups inculed. All I could do was watch and run."
She sighed at the memories. "I was an Alphess before, but I don't talk about it. If this shield gets stronger as I get older than it may get twice the thickness it is now. Hopefully it gets a bit quicker."

Basira had been wandering the Toko Forest, getting a feel for the land. Her small, feminine paws padded softly and easily through the wide varieties of vegetation. In the more dense areas, the fae used her power of plant manipulation to part the plants giving her a clear path to walk. She was on her way back to the den, musing over the days events.
Basira was in the midst of thinking when she came upon Weylyn and Yuki. A wide smile appeared on her wolf features at the sight. The fae was about to barge right into the small clearing when she noticed the rather massive and thick wall of ice. She paused in her step and her brow raised. "What in the world...." she thought. Questions began running through her head. Questions like: What is a large block of ice doing in the forest? and Why was it there in the middle of summer?
Getting over her initial shock, Basira shook her head and stepped forward. The bushes bent to the side, allowing her to step through without trouble. The bushes pushed themselves back into their original places once Basira was safe on the other side. The fae walked over to the large block of ice and sat back on her haunches. Her lime green eyes gazed at the ice up and down, curiousity emanated from her being. "Hi Yuki, hi Weylyn..." she greeted absently.
Her main attention was on the ice. What was it doing here?! "Do either of you know why there's a large block of ice in the middle of the forest? In the middle of summer?" she finally asked.

"Yes I do Basira. That is my power. I can create a shield of ice." She explained.
"Just like how you can control plants I can control my shield"
She looked at Basira as she examined the ice. It was ver beautiful but she was looking at it like it did not belong. Well it doesn't it is summer and there is a big chunk of ice in the forest.
Yuki shook her head. "Would you like it gone?"

Basira shook her head. "No. It's fine, just a bit out of place," she said, her eyes still glued to ice. The fae wandered in circles around it, over and over again. She stopped at the side of it and observed it's over all thickness. "This is amazing, Yuki. How do you form it? Can you simply call it? Make it appear? Or does it grow?" Basira began asking question after question. She was fascinated by the white she-wolf's ability.
As she spouted out question after question, more questions began to form in her furry head. Did she have to form it from water? If so, where did she get the water? Basira knew some individuals could pull water from living plants, but was this an example of it? The fae continued to circle the ice, sniffing every once and a while. Could the ice be a completely different component?
From her many travels, Basira had become fascinated by things easily. She liked to try to figure out the science of things. How things worked, where things came from, etc. The fae licked the ice. Tasted like regular ice. Basira padded over to Yuki and sat beside her pack mate, her tail wagging behind her. "Your talent fascinates me to no end, Yuki. How long have you been able to utilize it?" she asked, her curiousity increasing with each second. "This is a very interesting and useful gift you have, Yuki," Basira complimented.

"I don't know how it forms exactly. I guess in a way I call it. I have to think about cold ice, but that may only be right now. I don't know exactly how it works." She tried to explain.
She tried to remember way back, as far ash she remembered she had always had a form of protecton. Her shield has always been with her. As far as she could remember, it all stated when she was just a little pup with her mom. She fell into a river in the winter and some ice went through her chest but it did not kill her. She had absorbed it and it was a part of her soul. It had been for so long.
"I have had it for a long time now, since I was just a year old. My mother could absorb things. I fell into a river and a chunk of ice went through my heart but I did not die. My mom made me absorb the ice and I guess that when she made me absorb it that it was my soul that it went into." She thoguht out aloud. "I know that sounds weird doesen't it?" She tilted her head. She had said it and it barley made sense to her.

"No, not weird. Intriguing," Basira corrected, a tender smile upon her maw. The fae nudged the white wolfess' shoulder playfully. "There is nothing odd or weird about you Yuki. You simply gained a power through an near accident. Not something unheard of. Rare, but not unheard of," Basira explained.
"Have you mentioned this to either Corrinth or Minou? I'm sure they'd be thrilled to learn of your extraordinary gift," the fae asked. She was quite sure Yuki hadn't, especially since she had attempted to hide it. Although a bit haphazardly.
"As I said before, dear Yuki, you have a very interesting ability. It could help the pack alot," she concluded. Looking toward the block of ice again, Basira noticed Weylyn sitting by himself. She could have smacked herself. The fae had totally forgot about the brute! How could she?
"Oh, Weylyn. I apologize for my absent mindness, I didn't mean to ignore you. How are you?" she asked, greeting the grey and white brute before the faes. Not only did she forget him, but she interrupted their conversation as well!! How rude of her. Honestly, she felt terrible now. Basira nearly began to bang her head against a tree in annoyance with herself. She let out a deep sigh. She was ashamed of heself.
To forget and ignore someone who was standing there the whole time was the worst thing she could even imagine. Her ears drooped and her tail ceased to wag. [/blockquote]

Weylyn didn't mind when Basira came to speak. It was always nice to have company and he didn't mind it. He smiled at her when she acknowledged him. He wasn't upset or anything when he padded to her and gave her a playful nudge, as if willing her not to worry about it.
"Its fine. Don't worry, it happens. I'm not offended or anything, so don't beat yourself up over it, okay?" He smiled at her and turned to face Yuki once more. "I'm sure it wasn't your fault, only because you're such a kind wolf. It was an accident and you really couldn't help it. Don't blame yourself. You have a new life and a new pack to start over in. Isn't that what beginnings are for? I'm sure you were looking for a new beginning just as we all were, yes?" His words were meant to be comforting. For as young as he was, he often was able to give advice and seem to speak as a wolf far beyond his years. He was the wolf that everyone could go to and that would help you out even if he had enough to deal with on his own.
"You really do have quite an amazing gift. You shouldn't downgrade yourself so much about it." He smiled a kind smile at Yuki before cleaning one of his paws absentmindedly. He finished quickly and gazed from one female to the next.

Yuki just did not know what to do. She could not trust her shield completely. It had failed her before and what if it failed her again. She just sat there quietly. Listening to the ice as it slowly heated up and cracked. It was cold but she did not notice it, the others did though.
"Would you like me to warm it up a bit? You two don't seem to be used to the cold like I am " She asked. She also did not want to kill the plants.
"Weylyn what is your power? It makes me curious now that you know mine and that I don't know yours." Then she thought. Maybe she should tell Corrinth and Minou. Secrets should not be kept but told. It was about time Yuki stopped hiding and let the pack know her secret. They should know everything. Even the fact that she had been an Alphess before she lost her pack and joined this one. They should know about Blackfire. He might come and try to find her again so that he could have his way with her. She needed to do something about him. His fire could easily go through her shield.
"I think I should tell Corrinth or Minou. The only problem is when, where and how. I need to let the pack know about Blackfire. He may be after me again. And I don't think my shield could protect us all from him. His fire is too strong."

He smiled at her as she spoke. "Speaking of your powers to the Alpha and the Betess would be a very good move. They'll be more than understanding. If there's anything you can count on Corrinth for, it is for understanding and compassion." He seemed as if he held a high amount of respect for the elderly leader. He looked at her for a moment longer as she asked about his power.
Well, his power wasn't really a secret and he had no problem sharing it with others. "Just watch." That being said, his body rippled slightly as his form began to shift and change into a rather large bear. His markings remained in place, from the white star upon his forehead, to the slate gray fur that covered most of his body, right down to his belly and paws that mimicked the stars color on his forehead.
Slowly, the form began to change as it grew smaller and smaller until he was a hummingbird, flitting quickly around the wolves around them. Even then, he retained his previous coloring and markings. Slowly, he returned to his spot he had been previously sitting in and morphed back into his previous form as a wolf. He shrugged to her and smiled at the two femmes before him. He didn't think either of them knew of his power and he wondered their reaction would be to his shape-shifting abilities. Snowdrift was okay with them.... he remembered back to the first time he had ever displayed his abilities within the packlands.. he had come into the lands and chaos had broken loose when he had shifted into a bear form and seemed more threatening to the pack than he intended to be and how it seemed odd that a bear would be flirting with a wolf. A smile graced his face as he remembered this, then sighed at the pang that hit his heart, remembering Snowdrift had been gone for a while. He wasn't sure why, but she had requested to be alone for a while... Weylyn was worried, but it didn't show on his features. He was still the happy-go-lucky wolf he always was as he waited for the two faes before him to react to his shifting abilities.

The fae looked to Yuki as she asked her question. She shook her head, "No, I don't mind it, honestly. It's a relief from the humdity," she said, a smile gracing her lips. At the mentioning of Weylyn's ability, she became extremely curious. Her lime green eyes switched from the fae to the brute.
Basira sat and observed as Weylyn began to shift into many different forms. The fae had yet to learn of his ability and, to say the least, she was utterly shocked at the sudden change. Much like Yuki's gift, Basira tried to figure out the mechanics of it.
She moved forward, sniffing at the brute through each of his transformations. Basira circled Weylyn her eyes examining each movement of his muscles as they morphed into something else. "You have such an amazing gift, Weylyn. You both do," she said, commenting on both the wolves present. "How do you do it? Do you imagine the form in your mind and, then, you morph into it? Or is it something completely different?" she asked.
Like with the snow white fae, Basira began to ask question after question. Her mind trying to find the scientific reasoning for his power. "How do you make yourself bigger? For example, when you morph from an average wolf to the size of an average bear. Is it something that just happens or do you have to consciously think of it?" The questions were just blurted out. How did he do the things he did?
