The landscape hadn't changed since Corrinth had taken his leave. The trees still swayed in the wind as Corrinth flew overhead and the animals of the forest still felt fear as the once ruler of the forest land over shadowed them. The feeling was comforting to Corrinth, and it still felt natural. But one thing did feel different, there were new energies among the forest that didn't seem familiar to Corrinth. The land felt abandoned and empty from the former leader's absence. There was a strong feeling about taking back the forest. The reasoning for being away for so long will help reclaim the forest, if there was any challenge being posed.
"I hope nothing has changed with the pack.", Corrinth said as he sighed deeply. "I wonder if the pack will except me back as their leader after being gone for so long? I really hope they understand, I only wanted to become better fitted to lead a pack."
Continuing toward the center for the forest, Corrinth could feel a very familiar energy, Minou.
"I'll go and find Minou first, I hope she forgives me, especially her. And maybe she'll find me more mature and reliable to lead.", Corrinth said more happily.
Then to sound his return, Corrinth released a fierce roar of a howl while rising further into the air. And a moment later, Corrinth set forth flumes of fire from the tips of his wings that swam in the air like two serpents intertwining around Corrinth in a brilliant display of power. And when the two fiery serpents were roughly fifty feet away, Corrinth used his energy manipulation to amplify the flames to make them explode in a beautiful working of fire, the flames barely smoothing over Corrinth powerful midnight-black body.
"I have returned.", said Corrinth with conviction.

she said, a small smile on her muzzle before her audits flicked back and those orbs darkened. "Where did you go? I didn't even get a warning..." ooc - Welcome back Sphinx! Oh, and you should probably go post in the thread where someone claimed the land. No one has replied yet and I just saw it today. ^^

The wind swept past Corrinth as Minou flew around him. The sight of the majestic wolf's body, was one that Corrinth missed dearly. And having been away for so long, only made the longing for a companion that much more apparent. Minou, seemed to be excited to see the former leader. That pleased Corrinth to know that however long he'd been gone, he was still missed among to forest. Nothing would make Corrinth happier then to be the leader of the pack that he would have seemed to have forgotten. But he never had forgot what he had. When Minou was on Corrinth's side, she has asked why he'd been gone for so long, which he would gladly answer.
"I'm glad to have returned to your welcome Minou, it has been long since the last time we've spoken.", Corrinth said sadly. "It will be something that I remedy with my return. And as for where I was, I wanted to become better suited for you. So I trained on a spirit journey as well as physically.", Corrinth finished saying on a more enthusiastic note.
"We should land, so I can hurt for us. I haven't eaten for a few days and I think that you should eat as well so you can recover some well needed strength. I hope you don't mind me hunting for you. You look like you could use some rest.", Corrinth said compassionately.
And as Corrinth finished speaking again, he gently brushed the tip of his wing to her's as a sign that hard times were coming to an end.

Weylyn had been laying in his den next to Karin and Snowdrift, much like he did so often now, since the pack had all but fallen apart. He was always a light sleeper, but even more so since the Coyote had been lurking about. That creature gave him an eerie feeling and there was something too fake about his outward personality.
He had been in a light sleep when a loud howl echoed across the land. The howl seemed familiar and Weylyn ignored it at first, thinking it was just a dream and the fact that he had hoped the pack would stay together and return to its former glory was playing tricks on him... though that thought quickly changed when he saw the flamed snakes slithering through the skies. It was! It wasn't a dream!
Weylyn licked Karin and Snowdrift excitedly, hoping to wake them up. "It's Corrinth! Wake up! He's back!" Weylyn ran quickly toward the source of the howl and saw high up in the sky Minou and Corrinth. Minou had beat him to it, but that didn't matter. It was probably best, considering she was still reigning betess of the lands.
"Corrinth! Welcome back!" Weylyn called to the skies, his tongue lolling out of his mouth in excitement.

she said, voice like liquid, smooth and cool. She gave her tail a twitch, and moved away again. "I just hope your time away will make you even stronger," she continued, flashing her white fangs in a smile. Not a full blown one, Minou rarely did that, but a serene, easy one. She flicked her ears and nodded as he spoke. Yes, her wings were beginning to ache from holding still. She wasn't that hungry, but Corrinth said he was an food was always good for later. She let her ears droop a little. So her tiredness showed that well. Oh well, she'd had a long day, but she'd be happy to go hunting with him. She nodded her head in a graceful arch and felt the brush of his wings. She tilted her head at him and let her wings flare, lifting her higher. She swirled a minute, before remembering something. She zipped back, paws stretched out as she curved below him. "There's to be an alpha meeting. I got to talk to Aures Un, and was invited. But now you are back, so I can no longer go with any fairness. The Gold One said he will call when the time is right," she offered the information in her same tone, even though the splatter of pleasure slid from her throat over the words. One could tell meeting with the spirit had been a joy for the pale blue femme. Her head feathers flickered up and then down charmingly, the long blue tipped ones on her tail spread as a rudder. She let herself loop a bit more before drifting to the ground in slow motions, not rushing. She loved to fly, and it was seldom she was able to just enjoy the air. But tired as she was she knew she wouldn't be able to hunt if she stayed up longer. She looked over her shoulder, waiting for Corrinth, not wanting to leave him behind. She heard the bark below and smiled down at Weylyn, gliding to his side. "Greeting Weylyn, it is good to see him back, isn't it? she spoke, letting her wings slide back into her body, leaving her sides smooth and flat.[/blockquote][/ul]

Corrinth was nearly overwhelmed with welcome, as he was greeted excitedly by Weylyn. Weylyn seemed to have grown since the last time Corrinth has seen him, but one theing that didn't change, was that Weylyn was still very energetic. Corrinth enjoyed having some one like that around, even though he wasn't like that mast of the time. The training Corrinth had put himself through had changed him in little ways. Like being more mature and far more strong than he once was.
Corrinth called down to Weylyn before landing next to Minou. "It is amazing to have returned, I won't be going anywhere, anytime soon."
And turning to Minou, Corrinth said," I will hunt for the both of us, you look like you could use some rest. You don't have to do everything on your own anymore. I'm here now." Compassion was written on Corrinth's face and laced in his voice as he gazed at the femme. Then Corrinth carefully nudged Minou toward the cavern that was their home. And when Corrinth had touched Minou, Corrinth's head began to fill with lyrics of a melody of longing and life and love. Corrinth was lost in thought for a moment, thinking of the family he could possibly have one day. His thought was cut off by a single tear that escaped his eye and came crashing into the earth below. This startled Corrinth slightly, only until after realizing how much he missed Minou. Thinking to himself, "I left to become stronger, but no matter how strong I become, I'll never be able to do this on my own, I'm just not strong enough." As Corrinth was thinking this, he subconsciously flexed his muscles. When he raelized that he'd tensed up, Corrinth laughed slightly to himself, and released the tension in his muscles. When his muscles relaxed, his stomach gave out a loud rumble. He needed to hunt soon if he were to make it to the next day without felling faint. Corrinth shifted to more properly see Minou.
"Please, Minou, return to the den and rest. I know you are more than capable of hunting right now, but....." Corrinth paused to think of how to best say something without losing complete composure. The former Alpha wanted to show the Betess that he could be mature and all he needed to be for her and the pack once again. Then Corrinth's thoughts switched to something more. Maybe hunting together could bring them closer together. So it would be something fun to do. Corrinth's ears perked up as he asked. "But if you would like to hunt with me, I would like that too. And after we've eaten, we could rest together. I have a feeling we both need to.", he finished saying happily.

Weylyn allowed his tongue to loll out of his mouth for a moment longer before gaining his composure and bowing to his Alpha. "You've been greatly missed in these lands, Corrinth. Welcome home." He held his bow for a moment longer before he raised up and looked at Corrinth, eye to eye. Granted, his posture was the farthest thing from challenging or dominant, Weylyn was just now glad to be able to look at Corrinth and have it not be a dream anymore.
"Corrinth, you should know... Snowdrift and I are mates... I hope you're okay with that? And there was the little pup, Karin.. we adopted her as our own.. and I hope that is okay as well. We've been staying in a den that I cleaned out and prepared... and I just felt like, since you're Alpha, you should know this." He nodded kindly before he thought for a moment.
"You both look really tired... would you like me to hunt with Snowdrift and Karin? We've rested and all have more than enough energy to do so? It will give you a chance to catch up with Minou and get both of the much needed rest that you both look like you might need? Just an offer and a thought, if you wanted to get reacquainted with the lands... scent marking and all the other stuff that an alpha must do. I'd like to help out with things if I can." He nodded kindly and respectfully toward the Alpha and the Betess. He waited a moment for a reply before he said or did anything else, hoping that he hadn't offended in any way, especially since he just got his Alpha back.

she replied graciously, turning to let Corrinth decide. He was alpha after all. She lifted a paw and touch the black wolf's arm with it briefly. "You have yet to say anything about the Alphen meeting," she reminded lightly, not wanting to sound rude but knowing it was important and needed to be discussed.[/blockquote][/ul]

Corrinth was still for a while, taking in the fact that he and Minou would soon be hunting together. Weylyn was with Snowdrift now, that would prove interesting within the next few years, but over all Corrinth was very happy that a member of his soon to be reclaimed pack was happy. And there was going to be an alpha meeting soon, things didn't seem to have changed to much while Corrinth was gone.
"I am pleased to know that you will hunt with me Minou and as far as the alpha meeting is concerned, I think you should come with me. You have every right to be there having taken care of the pack while I was gone for so very long. And it would be a pleasure to have you there. Please except my offer and be by my side at the meeting." Corrinth seemed comforted as he finished that last sentence.
Then turning to face Weylyn. "I am pleased that you have a mate now Weylyn. It brings me great joy to see members of this pack happy. I can only hope that the pack can remain this happy with me as the leader again."
And Corrinth knelt forward toward Minou. "I believe you and I are going to hunt soon." And Corrinth spoke again without breaking eye contact with Minou. "Weylyn, you should see to Snowdrift. I know all to well how easily the things you love can disappear."
Corrinth flicked his tail in excitement thinking about hunting with Minou. Things are finally starting to come back together again.

Weylyn listened and pondered for a moment if he should try to push the resting idea onto them more, but thought it better. He could very well tell that Corrinth wanted to spend this time with Minou and Weylyn respected that.
"I understand, Corrinth. I'll go see Snowdrift now. If there is anything else I can do for you, please inform me and I will see to it that it gets done. Same goes for you, Minou. You're just as important to this pack." He smiled and bowed slightly to both of his higher ups before giving one last glance to each of them. He paused for one moment before slowly making his way through the trees toward the den that he and Snowdrift shared.
He was glad that Corrinth had returned, especially with the events that had been happening lately and with the Alphen meeting coming up. (((Weylyn has left the area)))
