Sooo many new wolves... Haven could sence them all, and yet he hadn't met half of them yet. It was insane... and something that he didn't really want to deal with. They all had so much going on in their heads and with so many of them around it was impossible to sleep in peace. At least during the day he could block out most of it. It still took a lot of concentration... and that concentration was something that could be used toward other things. It was so barbaric.
Standing up, Haven paced around his favorite spot in the land. It was a small clearing behind one of the tinier waterfalls. The plants were lush, but minimal, not overwhelming. And it was rather dry, probably because the direction it was facing. Needless, it was one of the only places he could go and ignore the whispering in the other woves minds. Haven lowered his head as he continued to pace. Poor, Cinder.. so many wolves wanting to be alpha. And Eden... Haven liked her presence... and was really beginning to dislike Harbinger... especially with what was going on in his mind. Eden diservered better. A hunter? Yeah right.
Haven sat down and let out a sigh. He really needed someone to talk to... someone that would allow him to run his maw and let the words travel through one ear and out the other... Yeah, he had better luck talking to himself. "And where would that get me?" He asked himself. Now he just sounded crazy. "Ugh..."

So often as she did, Masina had been scanning the lands for new wolves and thinking her simple thoughts in her mind. She sighed to herself, sensing the stresses that Haven seemed to be going through and thought it would be nice to see if he was okay... but when she went to the den area, she couldn't find him. She wasn't an empath, but since they were blood related, she had a closer bond to him than she did with most wolves, even though they hadn't talked much.
She searched from above and from below, spending several minutes looking for him when she finally spotted his form sitting in a small area next to one of the lesser waterfalls. Glad to have found him finally, she slowly and gracefully landed several wolf-lengths from him, wondering if she should approach or not. Deciding it would be better to see if he was okay and if he desired any company, she smiled and padded forward.
"Haven? Is everything okay, love?" [/b] They hadn't had the chance to talk much, but she really hoped that he would open up to her... she could even teach him of his father and the past and try to help him in any way he might have needed it at that moment. Being a telepath herself, she was both good at reading minds and shielding her mind from others... and she could also teach him the ways of that if he so chose, but that was entirely up to him. She approached him with concern in her icy sapphire eyes.[/blockquote]

With a small startled jump, Haven turned his large head toward his aunt. Why hadn't he heard her coming? He let out a soft sigh as he saw her, glad that it was her and not someone else. "Masina, yes... everything is, er, delightful." He gave her a rather pathetic smile. There was no way he could pull off lying to her, so he closed his eyes and let out a heavy exhale. "It's so chaotic in my head. And I know that sounds crazy.. The other pack members just think so much and I can block it to the point that it's at a whisper... but that's it. I haven't slept in days. It's pathetic."
He opened his eyes again and looked at her. A shrug fell from his high shoulders as he sat down and glanced out at the land. It was so beautiful and peaceful looking. Now why couldn't his mind be like that? Peaceful... and quiet... All except his own thoughts. That would be the day. Haven ran one of his large paws through the dirt absent-mindedly. "I'm pathetic, aren't I? You'd think with me being Lucid's son I'd be more like him... Able to intimidate and control anyone. He could block his thoughts with an unbreakable wall... and I can't. I never really was good enough for them...." Haven stood up and walked toward the small falls. The sound was soothing.
OOC: Hehe! Haven is my little emo wolf.

((I forgot all about this thread!)) Masina smiled kindly at her nephew and approached him. Nuzzling him gently, wanted to help. She didn't need to be an empath to see he was bothered and that he was upset about things.
He had begun to pad toward the Waterfalls, so she followed. The lands were truly beautiful as she gazed around and finally came to rest her eyes on her nephew once more. She flicked her tail gently and folded her large white and gold wings to her sides. Her eyes sparkled gently as she looked at him with a knowing expression as he talked.
"There's no need to be like Lucid. You're a very sweet wolf and you don't need to be intimidating. Here, lets try something. Can you read any of the thoughts going on in my mind?" [/b] She smiled and looked directly into his eyes, waiting for him to try to read her mind. You didn't have to be intimidating and evil in order to block thoughts. With practice, anyone with the abilities could do it. She thought about a lot of things, seeing if Haven could reach any of them, though she had put her shield up against any other thoughts or others who would try to intrude into her mind. She thought of her past, of the future, of Baztek and of her newfound Nephew. In silence, she waited... waited for Haven to speak again and wondered if he had realized beforehand that he wasn't able to read her mind.[/blockquote]

Hair of silver, eyes of gray, a roadmap of scars and stories crisscrossing tired, beaten flesh. A hero of bygone years, a gray memory, a wisp, a ghost. Well, there was that, and the stinging stench of liquor that stained his fur, the dirt that would never really clean off his paws, or the wild, ruffled fur that covered him, tufts and cowlicks sticking up between the scars. "Now ya see," He said, looking down at his current travel companion, "Back then we were alot more social with the other packs. Well, the alpha of the Toko just so happened to be visiting that day. So when the fire broke out, this Toko asshat gets it in his head that he is going to save us poor water fallers from ourselves, and goes charging into the inferno. After WE put the fires out, we found the bastard cowering behind a rock, with not a hair left on his body." He laughed, shaking his head. His companion did not laugh.
"Aw come on buddy, get the stick outta your ass, its funny!" The rabbit looked up at him, tilted its head, and hopped away. "Aw who needs ya," Decaz whispered, "Good luck little fella," he added quietly. He had been moving through the waterfall packland for awhile now. Finding small lakes and caves to keep him alive, and drunk but that was another matter. It was odd, how much things could change while not changing at all. The rocks, the plants, the falls, the place was the same. But... wolves here seemed, scared. Oh sure, love, friendship, joy, all these things were so strong on the wind sometimes he doubted anything had changed at all. But, the people he knew, they were gone. These new wolves, they seemed more self destructive, more isolated, more prone to the darker parts of their souls. He sighed, maybe he was just a knight who missed the glory days, maybe he was just a brute who missed his friends, or, just an old man feeling a bit left behind by the world.
He had hardly been watching where he was going, his mind too wrapped up in memory and shadowy thoughts. Wolves, two of them, one of them he recognized. He had met Masina briefly when he had first arrived and instantly pegged her as a good egg. The other wolf however, he did not know. There was something, stressed looking about the scene. A tension in the air, a faint smell of distress. The two seemed to be talking about something but what it was he could hardly hear. He knew it was none of his buisness, but, meh, he was an old man, everything was his buisness. He grinned, the young wolf inside him already yelling at his inner old man to leave the two alone. "Hello there!," He yelled, his voice rough and worn but warm, unthreatening. "You two need any help?" He stepped out into plain view, a lopsided grin on his face.
