Zephyr folded his paws one over the other in a relaxed lying down position. His muzzle hung low, just over the edge of the rockface he was sitting on, the lower part of his muzzle sprayed lightly with water as the falls thundered underneath him. It was similar to sittin on top of a very hungry wolf, yet the constant rumbling and churning of the falls soothed his very soul. He closed his eyes, listening to the sound of the water crashing down.
His golden tail flicked slowly out behind him, occasionally tapping the rockface in time to the steady thunder of the waterfalls. His wings were outstretched, and laid out on the rock, sunning themselves in all their speckled glory. He was enjoying the simple pleasures of life. He had a pack, a family and a purpose.
However something little nagged at his mind. No matter how content he was with life at the moment, he still needed a little something more. There was a tiny gap where something should be, but wasn't. He had a strong urge to fall in love and settle down. To hear his mate call his name in the mornings. Warm fur. Perhaps the tiny patter of pawprints against the cave.
The pack needed pups. Celestia was fine, but she was..lets just say a little odd for a pup. He had heard rumours that she was a god in disguise, and watching her from a distance made him wonder, yet she still had the appearance of a pup, and therefore needed protection. But the pack needed pups. It would be an entirely different atmosphere. Perhaps more carefree, yet perhaps more focused.
He gave a soft sigh as he opened one eye, looking down upon his home. The spray of the waterfall was cool against his muzzle, and he opened his mouth to allow some water in. Swallowing thoughtfully, he licked his lips and closed his eyes again, pondering.

'Tread softly upon the sacred ground, for is where gods mingle among mortals'
Prior to the sight of the magnificent river, winding its way through hill and forest alike, the large brute had never understood his father's words of wisdom. Not just that particular saying, but others that were frequently repeated, all wasted on a pup whose brain was dwarfed by his bravado. Fortunately, with time comes maturity and with maturity comes a new found respect and appreciation for things once missed, forsaken. So, wisened by an extra two or three years, the presently adult male tread carefully among the dirt and grasses. The scent of wolves was strong in these lands, and the realization made him alert, keen but not weary, cautious but not fearful nor anxious nor pessimistic in any way.
After all, any gods that chose to dwell in such a beautiful place had to have plenty of mercy to spare on a wolf who just wished to be near his element.
Wandering closer to the bank, the golden pelted brute took his time drawing near to the flowing stream, almost as though he feared it would bite him. He zig-zagged a little as he walked, turning to follow along side the winding water body just as you or I might walk along side an old friend. It was pleasant, hearing the flow as it rushed on by, tussling rocks and tossing fish, disturbing the balance of both earth and life in a somewhat comforting display of equality. The fish were no safer than the boulders.
As he drew closer to the falls, his gaze was directly away to his dismay, his pondering of the crystalline liquid interrupted by the body of another beast. It was still a ways away, too far for the blue eyed brute to see but the scent told all tales.
It was a male, shimmering in the sunlight like the falls that tumbled and churned beneath his paws. An inhabitant of the land no doubt, perhaps even one who had lay claim to it. An alpha who might grant him passage here... Nothing in life would have pleased the water element wolf more than to live beside the shining river. But his face left no trail of such wishes. Without enthusiasm or excitement or anything short of a stern resolve, the distance between he and the winged wolf closed steadily.
"Hello!" The call was made more to draw the other's attention, less as any sort of welcoming greeting. But there was no malice in the massive brute's gruff voice and his approach remained nonchalant, relaxed, nonthreatening...

His ears flicked at the sudden noise not made by the falls. It was an odd sound, the sound of a greeting, yet he hadn't heard the voice before. His nose twitching- yet the scent was masked by the scent of the falls- he lazily opened one eye. A brute stood there, looking a little wary, but not afraid at least. He smiled, an open, beaming smile that held no malice in it, and rose, slowly, yawning a little and shaking his muzzle to wake himself up more.
Opening both his eyes, he dipped his head majestically to the other. Shaking his wings of the spray of the water a little, though not noticing that they glinted slightly in the sunlight.
"Greetings. Welcome to Fukai Waterfall. I am Zephyr, a humble member of the pack. Do you seek shelter or council with our Alphess?" He asked, his voice loud and bold over the roar of the falls. It held no fear, and rang full of confidence, as did his posture, tall and proud, with his ears erect and alert, yet relaxed. His tail swung about behind him, casually flicking left and right.
He strode forward, his powerful shoulderblades working so his wings dipped and rose. He stopped though, within a nice distance, not too close for comfort, and smiled again.
"May I ask what is your name traveler? He spoke formally, and his voice did not waver, yet it held no threat. If this newcomer was looking for homage in the Waterfalls, he didn't want to be known for scaring the other brute off.

From within the den, Eden heard a loud greeting from outside. The voice awoke her from her afternoon nap, but, like the brute atop the falls, Eden was unconcerned by the newcomer. The stranger struck no fear in the fae's heart nor panic or distress. Simply curiousity. Lazily, she stood and stretched out her limbs as she walked. She took a glance around the room, a few pack mates still slumbered while others were no where in sight.
Eden shrugged her shoulders and padded her way to the entrance, her claws making small clicking sounds with each step. The fae exited the cave, but made no move to go past the majestic falls. She stood there, being sprayed by the fall's mist as she gazed out to the newcomer. From atop the falls, Eden could here Zephyr conversing with the brute below. Eden sat back on her haunches and simply listened to the males, not wanting to interrupt.
Her mostly black pelt began to become soaked as the mist rained down on her. The sounds of the falls began to increase in volume, making it difficult to hear the two brutes. The conditions where she was sitting were becoming to difficult to ignore. Making up her mind, she slowly climbed atop the rocks and boulders. Eventually, Eden made it to the top of the falls, slightly behind Zephyr. She walked a few feet more before laying down on the warm rock. The fae rested her head upon her forepaws as she listened, enjoying the warmth the sun gave her.

Short, proportionately stubby ears perked to their tallest position when the haphazard greeting was met and given a healthy reply. The large male's face spoke of attention but little else, lacking slightly in emotion and generally staring rather plainly with eyes that mirrored the colors of the falls. Raising his cream colored eyebrows, he returned the pack wolf's respectful bow with one of his own, lowering his black-furred head slowly in a slightly exaggerated fashion, to be sure the other- a male known as Zephyr, noticed the gesture.
"You may. I am known as Calder. I come from the north... a wanderer, not a traveler."
Speaking slowly, the interloping lupine's voice rolled from his tongue like rocks from a mountain. Its pitch was low, heavy almost but not booming. His speech was soft like his pelt and his sentences was as long as the black-tipped guard hairs that decorated his shoulders. Watching Zephyr carefully to be sure his intrusion was taken appropriately, Calder moved from his standing position, stepping sideways toward the river slightly in order to get his gaze away from the painful glare of the midday sun. As he moved, he noticed a shift in the source of a nearby scent. The pack was nearby... and a member was stirring. One triangular black-tipped ear twisted, in search of more clues, but it was met by no other sounds outside of the rushing water beside him.
"I move from place to place, seeking refuge near to my element." He paused, motioning his head toward the falls behind him. "However, if your alpha will permit an extended stay, I suppose a meeting would be to my benefit. I do not wish to intrude..."

Cindershock woke with a yawn and heard conversing outside, above the falls. Her keen ears picked up only a few words alphess, Calder, stay, wanderer. She rose to a standing posistion and stretched her wings, letting her power flow for no more than a second, before closing them neatly at her back. Cinder began to walk out of her nest and toward the front of the den to see what the fuss was about. She exited from under the falls, shaking water from her pelt. The sun shone down warm upon her back, face, and wings making them shine. Her purple orbs took in her surroundings. There was a strange wolf, Zephyr, and Eden were talking to him. She climbed the slope to the top of the falls, with just a little difficulty, she hadn't been up here yet, and now she regretted it. When she reached the top she walked up to Eden and licked the top of her head in passing, and continued to Zephyr. She had met the wolf briefly, but didn't know him very well. "Hello, Zephyr" she said so that just he could hear. She smiled at him showing off pink gums and tongue, and sparkley white teeth. She looked to the new brute next, and smiled again, this time not showing teeth, just a polite and friendly smile. "Hello to you Calder" she hoped with all her might that she had heard his name and not one of another "I am Cindershock, and welcome to Fukai!" she sat down on her haunches and just basked in the sun for a while.

Rain had been sleeping in the nurcery when she awoke by a greeting in the pack's entrance. She yawned and streched and shook her fur of any dirt that had clung to it. She flapped her wings acouple times to clean them off as well. She poked her head out of the den and saw Eden and Cindershock and Zephyr talking with a new wolf.
Rain bounded over. "Hi!" the pup sat down and wagged her tail, her blue eyes with golden specks looked over all the wolves.

Though the introduction of two other wolves from the slumbering pack nearby set the technically interloping male on edge slightly, his expression and stance remained sturdy, unmoving, but relaxed, not tensed or at all concerned. He was a master of hiding his emotions and, rather than appear nervous or disturbed, he remained nonchalant, cool blue gaze drifting from the other male in the group to the first of females to approach from on far.
She introduced herself as Cindershock and it immediately struck the water element lupine as an odd yet very interesting name. It spoke of both fire and fear, yet this female seemed to be in tune with neither, instead happily smiling at him and welcoming him into her midst without getting to know him or anything. She was neither frightened nor intimidating, but instead seemed childish and jovial, her violet eyes alight in the sunshine. It was rather strange indeed. Perhaps the "Cinder" was to pay homage to her fiery coat instead.
Contemplating this silently, Calder nodded once in acceptance of the female across from him. But as he parted his jaws to speak, a squeak from beside him interrupted whatever he was planning to say and, politely, he chose to acknowledge the pup before continuing conversation. Smiling slightly, he nodded at her as well, a small almost fragile looking thing with silver fur and a skip in her step. It was a pleasure to see the pack was healthy enough to have pups running about with such energy and vibrancy no less. Surely, this was a respectable pack.
Still, his interest was solely on the water that flowed through the ground at his feet.
"Why hello there, little one..." He paused, lifting his head, his smile still intact. "And to you too Cindershock. It is an absolute pleasure to meet to the both of you."

Zephyr couldn't help but laugh softly as he heard others of his pack stirring behind him. It was a laugh of pride, pride for the pack to which he belonged, and sure enough, as he turned his head he practically beamed, seeing Eden and Cindershock behind him, there yet unthreatening. Rain had also scampered up above the falls, her eyes reflecting the sparkling of the water, a sort of untold joy in her shining orbs. He felt she had found happiness here in the waterfalls.
Suddenly something made him glance twice. He looked up to see Cindershock, her body framed slightly in the sunlight, giving her an eerily immortal look. His jaw dropped open slightly, he'd never seen her look so beautiful before. It was awe-inspiring. The gentle fiery tones of her pelt blending with her violet eyes made his heart flip a little. But he forced his gaze down. He was thinking of his Alphess. Yet she was always so friendly, so carefree...
He forced his thoughts back to the new wolf, Calder, and turned back to him, his honey eyes watching Calder smile at Rain, feeling the warmth beneath his eyes. Calder would fit right in in the waterfall pack. A scent brushed across his nose and he turned as Cindershock stepped by him, her soft voice greeting him quietly. He grinned without thinking, and his tail wagged excitedly.
"Good morning Cinder, I hope you slept well" He said equally as quietly, nodding his head to show respect, though his cheeks flushed slightly, as if he had almost commited a crime by calling her that. Stop being stupid Zephyr. Eden calls her that, she won't mind.. He forced himself to think, shaking his head a little.
He raised his head to look at Calder, trying to avoid the fact that his heart was tumping like a jackhammer, yet he kept his cool. He was confident. He was among friends.

Rain wagged her tail. After being here for such a short time, she was already accepted into the pack. Though she was still a pup, she would soon be a year old and would be able to roam more freer and speek to more wolves like the three before her. Her tail continued to wag, and her wings twitched slightly as if they had the urge to fly, but she new she couldn't, and she knew that her wings did that every time she met someone new.
Rain's ears perked up as she heard some of the hunters enter with the day's hunt. Oh Boy! there was a Rabbit! Her favorte! She had to get it before anyone else got it. It was selfish, but she almost never had rabbit. Living by herself, she was never fast enough to catch one. "Um Please excuse me." She bowed politely before retriveing the rabit from the pile.

Eden walked up to Cinder's side and watched as Rain scampered off for food. A smile graced her lips as she observed the pup's actions. The fae returned her attention to the scene before her. Eden brushed her side with Cinder's letting the Alphess know she was there.
Calder seemed nice, tender to others, whether they be adult or pup. He simply wanted to be near the water, nothing more. Eden cocked her head to the side, sizing the brute up. He would be a good addition to the pack. They needed more males, also. The Fukai was mainly females, what would happen if something went wrong. They needed more muscle around the den.
Between her pack mates, Eden felt fine, content. She would simply sit and wait until she was addressed. The fae didn't want to over step her boundaries. Especially in front of a newcomer.
