I walked through the trees into a clearing full of lucious flowers. The smells assaulted my nose. My purple eyes took in everything around me, as I saw a waterfall coming down the mountain range. 'Wow what a place' I thought. 'I hope I can make a nest here and live. I'll become alphess maybe, if there isn't one already.'

She often tread the lands, deep in thought, night or day. She always enjoyed the sound of the day and the sounds of the night. Having grown so used to the sounds around her, she could easily pick out the scents and sights and sounds that were foreign to these lands... this was how she knew, while out on one of her walks, that there was a new wolf in the terrain... once again.
She padded slowly... searching for the newcomer. A fresh scent caught her nose... female. She smiled, glad to have the chance to become acquainted with yet another wolf of Aelyn. She made her way forward, her snow white pelt catching the light around her and her large, gold and white wings folded gently to her sides. The gold both upon her wings and the markings upon her body had a metallic look, though they were far from such a material. Her icy sapphire orbs searched for the source of the scent, and finally caught sight of the female who had made her way onto the lands. She smiled and padded forward in a friendly manner.
"Hello, traveller. My name is Masina, Betess of these lovely lands. I noticed you are new here... It is a pleasure to meet you. What is your name and what brings you to the Fukai Waterfall packlands?" She was very friendly and held no hostility within her posture or her words... purely kindness and welcoming. It was her nature and her way. She sat calmly, waiting for the female before her to speak.[/blockquote] ((Try to make your posts at least 10 lines in the message area long... ((kk sorry))
"I am Cindershock," I hoped this betess wouldn't chase me off of her lands "I am a wanderer and was hoping to find a home here by this glorious waterfall, as alphess, I didn't think anyone lived here, but now that I scent the air again" I paused to sniff the air "I can smell your pack, I am sorry to have intruded"
I stayed standing as to bolt incase this encounter turned out badly. My black wings flamed as I grew warry. I was hoping so much that I could live here. I hope they let me stay...Maybe I could be the alphess... If there wasn't one already. I looked at this wolf, Masina, she was gorgous. I felt awkward i comparison, I always thought myself pretty nice looking, with my orange fur and yelllow and red points. My black wings, other than my purple eyes I thought it was pretty good.
But seeing this wolf was just...wow. I wonderd why she wasn't alpha and betess instead.

((It's fine )) Masina smiled once more as the female before her spoke. She could tell she was a little afraid just by her posture and she gave a calming look and nodded kindly. "You have nothing to fear from me or anyone in these packlands. You are a guest here and should you decide to remain as a pack member, that's all the better." She hoped that this would put the female's mind at ease.
She gazed around her for a brief moment before turning her eyes back to the female. So she wanted to be Alphess? Well, she'd be the second Alphess and the third in any alphen position in these lands since Masina had been here. She smiled kindly at the female and didn't say anything about the Alphess position, for it wasn't her place to put others in power, but only to welcome new wolves to the lands and keep up the scent markers so other packs would know where the Waterfall reign ended.
"Now, if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know. There is food and shelter behind the waterfalls, where the packs den area is." She smiled again and gave a brief gesture toward the waterfalls.[/blockquote]

"Ok, thank you" I walked around to the waterfall all the while a little bent at the knees to show submission. I bent my head to lap up the water that lay under the great fall. Cool and refreshing, this is a great place to be. I walked behind the falls to the den, wondering if there were very many other wolves.
I saw a few wolves when I walked in, all of them looked friendly. I sat down at a wall furthest away from the wolves, my body language still showed fear, it had been a long time since I had been with other wolves. 'I'm not quite sure how to act' I thought

Masina smiled and followed lightly after the female, helping her if she needed it over the slippery edges that lined the cliffs leading to the den behind the waterfall. There were old scents of many wolves who had come through and moved on and old scents of previous alpha's. She sighed silently to herself and watched the female sit away from the other wolves and the other pack members.
"Everyone, this is Cindershock. Please welcome her to these lands." Masina could still see the female was a little wary and wanted to help in some way. She thought for a moment before she figured out a way to discuss things privately with the new female. Cindershock... only you can hear me. I'm talking to you through telepathy. You have nothing to fear. I have not been reading your thoughts, but I've noticed that you're slightly wary in your body language. Just know, that no one here will hurt you. We're all friends. Relax and just enjoy yourself. She looked at Cindershock as she sent the message to her mind. She hoped this wouldn't startle the female, but often it did to anyone she tried this with, which was a big reason she hardly ever used this ability of hers. She smiled warmly at the female and hoped she could help her open up to the pack a little more.[/blockquote]

I started at first at the voice in my head, then relaxed slightly as I heard the conforting words. I nodded slightly at everyone and noticed some scents that were a little stale, like wolves had been here then ran off and left their pack. I thought to Masina 'Why are there some stale scents, who would leave their pack after joining?'
I began to relax more and more as I looked around, none of these wolves were going to hurt me. I finally had a home. All of these wolves had kind faces and nothing about their body language said 'anger' about a newcomer eating their food or something equally rediculous. 'This is the safest I've felt in a long time' I thought to Masina again.
((By the way, that is a very cool power))

Masina smiled and nodded to her as she read her thoughts. She somehow knew that it was okay in this case and she felt no regret doing so.
There have been some wolves, previous alphas, who have disappeared without a trace... One male and shortly after one female... neither, I don't think, knew each other and we're the only packlands to have alphas disappear and not have them return. The Toko Forest pack recently had their Alpha come back to them, but we've not had any such luck. There will be one other stale scent you smell by my corner, but he's long gone once again. She sighed and gestured toward her sleeping area... an area where she could watch the entire pack and still have a clear view of the den entrance. I allow wolves to come and go as they please... I don't make the wolves stay and they're free to leave these lands and move on whenever they feel the need to. I think that some choose to leave in order to experience new things... I mean, after all, why do we ever leave any packs in the first place, if not to expand our knowledge and experiences? She smiled again as she sat calmly and gazed around at her small pack. She had grown used to calling it her pack, even though she wasn't Alphess... She turned her gaze back toward Cinder and waited for her response, be it verbal or mental.[/blockquote] ((Thanks!))

"Wow," I spoke aloud this time "thats kind of sad, that all your alpha's and alphess have dissapeared" I looked around more carefully, and thouhgt, there aren't many wolves here, for sucha pretty place, I would think there would be a bigger pack. "Is that why no one is alpha/alphess here? Becuase the others have dissapeared?" It was a curious thing.
For some reason, that I couldn't place, this den seemed familier. Like I'd been here in another life before, I trotted over to a empty nest and laid down, it had a nice veiw of the water falling from above. 'I wouldn't mind being alphess of this place, I think I would risk it. Though I don't think it is a risk' I thought

Masina listened to her words spoken out loud. Most, if not all of the pack knew of the history of the Waterfalls and those who didn't were more than welcome to ask her. She watched the female choose a nest to sleep at and call her own and nodded kindly.
"I don't know why no one has chosen to be Alpha or Alphess... I am Betess, as you know... I don't know why they alphas disappear either.. it's rather curious and I've tried so hard to figure it out, but to no avail." She smiled as she looked around for Celestia... the little pup who miraculously knows more than she should for her age. She had been growing rapidly since she first came to the lands, another curiosity of the Fukai Waterfall Pack. She smiled as she turned her gaze back to the female.
"These lands are odd... and I don't just mean the Waterfalls... all of the lands are odd in a sense... each having it's own history and it's own stories... these are just the stories of the Waterfalls." She smiled again and curled her tail around her paws. "I have no objection to your statement, if that is what you wish to do." She smiled as she turned her icy blue gaze to the femora.[/blockquote]

((this is probably going to be a short post))
"It is" I looked at the pack for any objections
((Do I need to ask them if that is ok? Wait for them to get on and ask or what? *confuzzledness*))
The light went through the falls and settled on me, almost as if the Gods aproved of my decision, I just hope that I could be good enough

((The pack doesn't need to approve... If you want to be Alphess, you just claim yourself as Alphess of the lands and you have the position.
And I don't know if I have anything to reply with at the moment to your post... Maybe one of the other members will think of something.))

Eden padded her way into the den, careful of the slippery stone. Her long silver claws clicked as she walked. Coming into view, the wolfess noticed a new female in the den. From the coversation she heard on her way in, this female was the new Alphess. A smile graced her lips as she trotted over.
She came to Masina's side and nuzzled the Betess in greeting. Afterwards she turned her attention to the new Alphess. "Greetings. Welcome to the pack, I'm Eden. I'm new here myself. I hope you find it quite comfortable." Excitement was building in the pit of Eden's stomach. 'Finally! An Alphess for the pack!' she thought.

"Hello, Eden nice to meet you" I looked her over, her raven fur was shiny and kept well groomed ((I hope lol I had to go read your profile he he)) and her leg, a shiny metalic silver, glimmered as well. A ghost of a smile came upon her face. 'The wolves in this pack are all very nice' I thought.
I sat down on the cold hard flooring, 'I'm going to have to get used to this' I chuckled in my head. I looked to the other wolves nest to see if they had lined them with anything. The ones who were laying down looked confortable enough so maybe they did. 'I know I'm going to go get some moss to line mine with when I got hunting' I thought

Eden's smile widened. A new member. She enjoyed the other's greatly and she couldn't wait to discover who her new Alphess was. As a first impression, Cinder seemed perfectly nice and endearing. The wolfess couldn't wait to discover more.
"Are you tired, Alphess? There is a fresh deer in the corner if you're hungry," she offered. Cinder was new and Eden wanted to make her feel comfortable and welcome.

The sound echoed around him. Almost human hands, with long, crooked claws covered his mouth and he peered around. Not that he really looked, but he saw no thermal reading anywhere. He sighed out a breath and shook his head, letting the long, thin, lightly furred arms curl back up against his chest. He looked like some odd raptor, but he was only a wolf, strangely made as he was. His tail gave a twitch and he held himself in quivering anticipation. He'd found a packland. Oh! More wolves, more stories, someone to tell his own to. He'd been wandering the mountains for a while and finally he'd found his own race. Other animals were good and everything, but his own language was pleasant sometimes. He lifted a back leg and gave his lower chest a thoughtless scratch. His fur stuck out where he'd upset it like some sort of slime held it in place. But the fur was smooth and visibly clean. He jerked into motion on slim, slightly shaking legs. He bounded between trees - and for someone with no eyes he did so marvelously. He lifted his large, bat-like ears and listened to the rise and fall of voices an soon he saw the blobs that represented life. He slowed a bit, and his extra limps clenched their claws anxiously. Maybe these wolves weren't welcoming to someone as he. He couldn't fight, he just told tales. Why feed him? But he approached anyway. He gave a soft woof, and set his tail wagging at a respectful level. His eyebrows were up, stretching the skin across his eyes taunt so it was very apparent that he had nothing there. He cleared his throat. "Hello, mistresses," he offered in a musical, lilted voice that matched not his image. He shifted a small step back and ran a claw through his neck fur. "I'm Durion, and I hope you don't mind me being within your borders."[/blockquote][/ul]

I looked at Masina for guidence, then walked out of the cave and around the deafining waterfall. I stopped and stared when I saw the wolf who was at our borders. He had 2 extra arms! They weren't even wolf arms, they were...odd. I got over my shock quickly and walked over, head and tail held high, ears pricked foward as a sign of alphess-ness((I can't think of the word!GAH))
"No, I do not mind you being here, but what are you...doing here" I had to correct myself quickly, I didn't want to offend this wolf. "Where did you come from?" I cocked my head to the side in a sign of curriosity.

Eden cocked her head to the side in curiousity as Cinder left the den. Raising her muzzle in the air, she sniffed. A new scent was present in the lands. 'Hmm,' she thought. Taking one last look at Masina, Eden walked to the opening of the den. She peaked her head around the majestic waterfall, getting a look of the newcomer. He looked rather unique with his extra set of arms.
The wolfess walked fully into the open, indicating her presence. She padded over to the Alphess' side, but remained slightly behind her. Her silver gaze went from the Cinder to the male. Eden offered him a wide smile, although she doubted he could see it. Questions ran through her mind. Who was this brute? Why was he here? Would Cinder allow him to stay? Hopefully, she would soon find out.

Masina smiled as the new Alphess made her way out of the waterfall to greet the newest wolf in the lands and to greet her first wolf as Alphess. It was both a little sad and a relief that she didn't have to run all over the packlands making scent markers and greeting every new wolf by herself now. She slowly stood and made her way through the entrance that was the Fukai Cave.
She slowly made her way to the other wolves and to the new wolf that had graced their lands. She smiled, taking his appearance in easily and tilting her head to one side in curiosity and intrigue. She padded slowly forward, standing almost next to the Alphess, but just far enough back in order to show she respected the leadership that she possessed.
She wasn't going to say anything, for it wasn't her place anymore to make the greetings if the Alphess had already done so, so she remained quiet, her demeanor and stance showing no signs of hostility and if anything could sense or feel her posture and her emotions, they were nothing but friendliness and kindness and a warm heart.
