He had been thinking... what would be the best way to find which wolf would be best of his children to take his spot... and then it hit him... He would put his plans into motion and see how things went from there. Mira, he wasn't so sure about... perhaps he would inform her? But how would she react? He wasn't quite sure how she would fare with the ideas that he had been cooking up... so he hadn't informed her... at least, not yet.
Lucid paced back and forth, formulating and plotting everything within his mind. What should he do? He could leave the packlands in Mira's care, tell her that he was going on a temporary leave.. but what if she asked questions? He had a feeling he could do this on his own, but there was that inkling that he might need help in order to take care of things... He had to recruit more... get more wolves on his side and recruit more members...
He had Sinis... maybe he should bring her along... give him an extra boost... Wolves seemed to be unable to use their powers around her... maybe he could send her up to greet other wolves and stand back... far enough that his powers would work... He knew that he needed to keep Sinis close.. he couldn't lose her... She was Omega of the pack, but she has the potential to be a very powerful tool in his plans. He would work hard to keep her within his ranks, even if it meant... being... nice... he cringed slightly at that thought.
Flicking his tails behind him, he made up his mind. He would tell Mira... but only if she asked again... He would talk to Tola and Crow and leave the packlands in their care as a final test for leadership... The one that showed the best management would become Beta instantly, no questions asked... next in line for his legacy.
Lucid also thought... there are wolves out there that are in some of the packs and that are loners... could he draw wolves away from packs? He had heard word of a wolf in the Marshlands who seemed to never age... to be what some would think immortal... something about her threw others off... what if he could get her on his side... or just figure out her secret... then he might be able to use the secret to his advantage.
So many possibilities, but which to choose? He was beginning to think he would need Mira's help on this...

Mira had been in a better mood lately. Why, she wasn't so sure herself, perhaps the nice weather? The fact that she didn't really have anything to care about? Needless, she wasn't pissy in the slightest. In her pleasant state, she had decided to walk around the lands and just spend some time alone. If she had ran into another wolf, they could so join her if they felt. Her small, creamy paws made little noise as they hit the ground. Her soft tail swished behind her in a motion that was captivating, enough to draw any wolf in. Come to think of it, it was the first thing that had gotten Lucid to move when they had met.
Oh, those were the days... when they had talked and had had fun together, whether it be a little flirting or just sitting next to each other. He was so distant now. Hung up on figuring out who was worthy to be alpha amoung the kin. Mira let out a soft sigh. She really wished she could connect with him on the same level again... mentally at least. Her pace slowed as a gust of wind picked up. She inhaled deeply, a scent that always sparked her fancy hit her nose.
What was Lucid up to now? Mira cocked her head to the side and fallowed his scent. She found him in a small clearing and watched him pace. Deciding to make herself known, she padded slowly into the clearing and right up to him. She sat down and glanced up at him, her eyes turning hard as she watched him. "What's up, Love?" She asked, her voice a mix of sweetness and sarcasm.

Lucid continued to pace, his mind racing with thoughts. He didn't even hear Mira come up to him he was so deep in thought. He quickly turned his large form to face the female and let a sigh of relief escape his mouth. He paused for a moment, his glowing eyes questioning before he decided to talk to Mira about what had been going on... or at least... hint at it.
"What would you say if... I wanted to set the grounds for an ultimate life? I mean, for the pack and the packlands..." [/b] He wasn't quite sure he wanted to come right out and tell her his plans... he might have mumbled them once or twice in her presence, but when she questioned, he would brush it away as if it were nothing... he had often slept far away from the other wolves for fear of his dreams and dreaming and sleep talking... Mira may have heard that as well... so he was curious to see how much she was aware of for his plans and what he wanted to do. He sat calmly, though his eyes were searching and questioning toward Mira as he waited for her response. He was easily twice the size of her small form, but he still looked at her as if she were his equal, only because she was his mate... nothing more... at least, not yet.[/blockquote]

Mira cocked her creamy head to the side in thought of Lucid's question. The ultimate life...? Immortality, maybe? She licked her maw and looked Lucid dead in the eyes. Her tail brushed the ground behind her, to and fro, as she thought. A very small smirk found itself on her maw. Her soft eyes twinkling with anticipation. She had always had that feeling that he was keeping something from her and yet he always found a way to shy her away from it. She questioned him constantly, and he never answered her correctly. She was lucky if she got a smile from him these days.
Mira watched him softly before straightening her back and neck and cocking her brow, "So are you finally going to tell me what it is that you have been keeping from me all these months?" There was still a slight smirk on her maw as she looked at him.

Lucid watched her and thought it was finally time to clue her in. He looked around and made sure his mental barrier stretched far in order to catch any eavesdroppers that might try to put at stopper into his plot. He wouldn't clue his children in... they didn't need to know what was going to happen... yet.
Once he was sure there were no listening ears nearby, he spoke. "How would you feel being the Alphess of all of Aelyn? Perhaps even for forever?" [/b] He looked deep into her eyes with his glowing pupil-less orbs and waited with slight anticipation to her answer. He hoped she wouldn't be appalled by the mere thoughts he had conjured about all of this... he hoped that she would stand by his side.. this was why he had grown so distant from her... he wasn't sure if she could handle this or if she wouldn't try to stop him if he had told her of everything he had been planning... but she was bound to find out sooner or later and he was sure by now that he couldn't do it completely alone... Mira was his best bet.[/blockquote]

Mira's maw curved into a smile. She was always up for a challange and the idea of being top wolf with Lucid by her side... Of all Aelyn! It made her heart skip a beat. She stood up and paced, looking rather nervous. He had kept things from her for so long and now it was his turn to wait. She held her head low, forcing thoughts of saying no, in case he was reading her mind. She kinda liked the idea of making him antsy... and if he really did need her help this would disrupt his plans immensly.. at least for a few moments.
Mira stopped and looked into his stunning eyes. "I feel as though you have just asked me to be your mate again." She paced a bit more before stopping infront of him and smiling. "You do realize that you could have asked me sooner, yes? You don't know me very well if you thought that I wouldn't be willing to help with this idea." She walked closer to him and jumped up onto his chest, meeting him eye to eye. "Care to tell me more? You have enticed.."

Lucid watched her, his heart beginning to race as she took what seemed like ages to reply to him. He hadn't even thought to read her mind, he was too worried about what her answer would be. When she finally stopped pacing and looked at him, he took in a sharp intake of breath and waited.. not breathing, until he heard her answer.
He looked at her, his eyes glowing with life when she spoke again. His heart raced and he smiled the first ever truly one hundred percent genuine smile at her. "I knew I chose you for a reason!" [/b] He couldn't show how happy he was. For the first time in his life, he began to wag his tails and show the true happiness that he felt with her. She jumped to his chest and he gazed into her eyes with more than just love... He slowly pushed her off of him and pinned her to the ground playfully. "You are truly amazing."[/b] He then kissed her lightly on the cheek and nuzzled her, slowly letting her up and laying down, his paw raised for her to lay next to him with his paw around her as they talked. "Well, we'll have to leave someone in charge of the pack.. how about Crow and Tola? Winner gets to be Beta? That way, it's like a final test for them and they don't have to be informed about what we're doing.. unless you think they should be? I just think the fewer that know, the better... it'll ensure a higher chance of success."[/b] He nuzzled her, drinking in her scent and holding her as close to his body as he could. He had a new found spark of love and perhaps even lust for her, now that he knew she would be by his side and would gladly partake in his plot ideas and his mission. Things seemed to be getting to the point where they were too good to be true.[/blockquote]

Mira's heart fluttered as he smiled at her. She hadn't seen in smile in forever... and a true smile at that. She couldn't help but flash her brilliant white smile right along with him, and when she saw his tails wagging like he was a puppy again.... She leaned in to press her nose to his when he slowly pushed her off and pinned her to the ground. She soaked in the affection he was showing like a sponge. She giggled softly and smiled at him as he kissed her cheek and nuzzled her. She had butterflies again, for the first time since she had met him. Mira chuckled as he had gotten off of her and laid down, offering her his side to lay next to. "Oh how I've missed you, Lucidity." His name rolled off her tongue with sweetness and love.
She immediately bounded to his side and curled up next to him, loving the feeling of his paw around her. Mira nuzzled his neck, loving his smell. She had almost forgotten that they were talking when Lucid began talking again. She nodded her head softly, "I don't feel that those two should know yet. You're right, the less that know, the better chance we have at success. I do like the idea of beta, and the winner getting the spot. Let's just hope all hell doesn't break loose. We would have so much more on our plate, and we don't need that, right, Love?" She kissed his nose softly and smiled.

He held her closely to his side as she spoke. He saw the life spark in her eyes again, the life that had once been placed in them when they had first met. Some part of him wasn't sure where things were going... whether or not he held true feelings for her or if he was just using her again for what he needed to. Time would display that. Right now, however, it seemed as if he truly and genuinely cared for her and that was what mattered at the moment.
"Well, lets think. How should we go about this? We have a lot to do and if all hell did break loose while we were gone, that would prove to be a large misfortune... but they will also have to learn to work together, especially if one of them gets the beta spot. If we're immortal though, we won't have to worry about ever losing or leadership positions. Which brings me to my next question... what do you know of wolves who bear immortality? Have you heard anything on your travels before you came here? I know of a couple wolves who are immortal... but I've never actually met with them. This might be something we try to do. One of them... I don't think we should try with... she's immortal, but she's too pure. She wouldn't help this cause. I have heard of a wolf that is in the Marshlands.. she's immortal in some way, though I'm not quite sure. I've only heard stories carried on the winds." [/b] He looked at her and pressed his nose to her shoulder in a caring manner. "We need to plan this out. We can't go in just hoping for the best. Sinis, we need to keep her within the pack. I don't know what it is, but whenever I'm around her, or any other wolf, for that matter... as I'm sure you've noticed... powers are either dulled or completely useless. She's a good tool that we need to use to our advantage."[/b] He looked into the distance for a moment, pondering and wondering what to do. There were a lot of things he hadn't thought through yet, but that were coming to his mind right now. He wondered if Mira had any ideas on any of the matters. He greatly hoped she would put some of these thoughts at ease and help him to figure everything out, though he had no doubt in his mind that she would do just that.[/blockquote]

Mira pondered everything Lucid was telling her. There was so much planning that was needed and what felt like so little time. She licked her maw and leaned into Lucid. "Immortality... I've always heard stories about it. Even when I was a mere pup. While I was running through the marshlands I had heard of one. A female, I think. I don't know how she became immortal and what not... but I was told that she just had an aura around her that screams she isn't normal. I say we try and find her. Who is this other wolf you are talking about? The one that is too pure. Maybe if I talked to her or something..." Mira shrugged softly. "What if we tried both? You go to one and I'll go to the other?"
Mira rolled over and laid in the sphinx position. "We'll definitely need to keep Sinis around. I can't conjure water or fire when I'm around her. I think that might be a power of her's. She would come in handy when we're looking for fallowers. I could talk to them, with Sinis by my side, oh course, and you could be farther back. Your powers are much stronger than most... and if you are out of reach of Sinis' spell, you are in complete control over the entire situation." A malicious smile played on her maw as she looked at him. She leaned over and kissed him softly. This was going to take a lot of work, but boy would it be worth it.

((Mira has such a malicious side to her! I LOVE IT!)) Lucid nodded as Mira spoke. She had many good points that he wouldn't have thought of. He particularly liked her idea of the use of Sinis. But how to convince Sinis to do this? Lucid would probably have Mira take care of that part. The pack was used to Mira being the kind-hearted female and Lucid being cold and distant and in order to keep that facade up, they would have to play their parts well.
"Okay, that is a really good plan. We need to figure out how to get her to go with it though... As for the other wolf... I think she's a messenger of the Ancestors... Angel, I think her name is? She's too pure though." [/b] He paused and then another immortal caught his attention. "There's always that brute that had interrupted us on that day we met.. remember? Baztek, I believe his name was? Something tells me he knows of immortality too... though, I would use him as a last resort."[/b] He flicked his tails and pondered a moment longer. "We could always try both, but I almost wonder if Angel would be futile... I don't thinks he interferes with the lives of mortals... from what I hear, she's entirely passive and will only guide wolves. The female in the marshlands will be our best bet."[/b] He concluded this as he thought a moment longer. "We should probably start everything as soon as possible..."[/b] He wasn't sure how long it was going to take to recruit enough wolves to be a standing force, but he did know that they needed to act fast before the other packlands grew too numerous and had too many wolves on their sides.[/blockquote]

Mira smiled as she thought. She glanced at Lucid, "Don't worry about Sinis. I have her covered. And as for Angel, we might as well just forget about her if she is for mere guidance. I don't think she would want to interfere." Mira leaned back into Lucid and nuzzled him slowly as she thought. "The fae in the marshlands is our best strategy... Baztek... Ugh, how could I forget him? He is definitely a last resort. If I didn't have to see him again, it would be far to soon."
Mira licked her maw and sighed... recruits.. There was always the plains. Many loners roamed around there. Her, Lucid, and Sinis could travel there. Or hell they could even travel through the other packs if they kept it on the down low long enough. "I think we should start in the Plains first. Finding fallowers, I mean. Don't most loners hang out there? I saw a few when I went through there, anyway." She glanced at him and shrugged. "If we are going to start soon, we should probably talk to Tola and Crow now. Do you agree, Love?"

Lucid listened to Mira and took note of everything she was saying. He was glad that Mira at least had been that way with the pack for so long. Oh, how the pack will be so unsuspecting! Things seemed as if they were going to go smoothly and flawlessly, though he knew better than to think such things.
"The plains sounds good. I know there are a lot of wolves there. And yes, I agree... we should probably tell Tola and Crow. The sooner we can see how they'll react, the sooner we can get our plans in motion." [/b] He flicked his tails and slowly stood, shaking the dirt from his dark fur. They needed to figure out things as soon as possible... if they waited too much longer, the other packlands might become too strong for them to overtake. He flicked his tails once more and turned his glowing orbs to Mira, waiting for her to do the same. They were far up the mountain and needed to scale down a ways to get to the den area where they would probably find Tola and Crow arguing about one thing or another. Slowly, Lucid adjusted his wings and waited for Mira to take the lead. He was glad that she was on his side for things and that she was all for his plans that had been months in the making.[/blockquote]

Mira stretched as Lucid got up and shook the dirt from his fur. She shortly did the same thing, her long cream colored fur shook as she got the dirt off. Her fur was always pretty and even though she liked getting down and dirty, she didn't like it when her fur got down and dirty with her. She pulled some water from ground and shot it at her tail, clearing the dirt off. A quick light of the tail and it's be dry in no time. She glanced over at Lucid as he spoke. "Hopefully they will act like adults and treat each other with respect... Why do they have to be so much like you, Lucid? Stubborn in everyway." She shot him a smirk, before walking toward the path she had came from.
The faster they got to the dens, the better. She looked back at Lucid and at his wings, "Shall we walk? Or fly? You could get there much faster than I can." That was one thing that put a damper on her selfesteem. She had no wings. But she could run like a bat outta hell if she needed to. She paused and looked over her shoulder, awaiting his answer.

Lucid looked at her and smiled. Yeah, both of his pups were just like him in that aspect... but Haven, not so much. "Ah, but Haven is very like you... Perhaps that is why he left." [/b] It was a thought that had crossed his mind a couple times over. Granted, he knew that Haven would never the the leadership material that Lucid had in mind for his children, it was still odd to him that he would just up and leave without a word. "I think walking would be good. It'll give us a chance to talk more and we could renew some scent markers on the way. Not to mention, I am quite enjoying this plotting going on between us. Its a side of you that I didn't know about and, quite frankly, I like it."[/b] He smiled at her and padded to her side, glad to follow her at the moment and glad to have another who was just as set on this plan as he was. Granted, Lucid was a loner most of the time, but he did quite enjoy the fact that he didn't have to do this by himself. It was getting to be way too stressful and almost seemed as if it would have been too much for him to handle.[/blockquote]

Mira sighed softly. She missed Haven. He had such a sweet spirit and it was a treat to be with him, an escape from the arguing in most situations. "Obviously he wasn't so much like me, or he would have stuck around. I could have walked out on you awhile ago, but I didn't." She chuckled softly, a smirk on her face. "Trust me, I'm just as confused as you are as to why he left. I really do want to know who this Masina is, thought..." She nudged her shoulder into Lucid playfully as they walked.
She let out a laugh as Lucid said that he liked her newly found 'side'. "Awww, you like me again!" She laughed and looked up to him with a cocked brow and smiled. "It was always there, I just never had to use it. Well, I have once before, I guess. It was kinda like when I first tried to join a pack. The alpha's son had wanted me, but the alpha didn't like that idea. He knew I was after the alphess position and told me to leave. But I wasn't going down that easy... so... I caught him on fire. Needless, the son and I didn't work out, which I'm rather glad for now." She nuzzled Lucid's shoulder and smiled. "I'm really glad that you let me in on this. I feel all special now." Sarcasm dripped on the last five words, but there was a clear genuine smile on her maw.

Lucid smiled as Mira spoke. Mira then brought up Masina. His heart leaped for a second, wondering how she would react to his past. Surely she wouldn't hate him for that? Come to think of it, it seemed so much like her past.. maybe she would be okay with him. He thought that since he had let her in on his plans, she had every right to know what he was fully capable of. He paused in his steps for a moment shortly after she mentioned this and looked into her eyes.
"I know who Masina is." [/b] He padded forward again as he flicked his tails behind him. "She's my sister."[/b] He wondered what her reaction to this fact would be... He was sure she would question more into this new piece of information, but he wasn't going to say much else until she asked. Padding along, he noticed they were on an area of the lands that he hadn't explored much. This intrigued him and he wanted to make a mental note to explore it more fully before they headed back to the dens. "We should mark this area too. I've not explored here really and it is part of our lands... we don't want our borders scent markers to be weak."[/b] He smiled at her and padded to an edge. He didn't mean to make it sound like such a dramatic change of subject, but he didn't want the borders to have any sign of weakness, especially if they were going to leave the pack alone for so long. He knew it would take some time to get members rallied together and increase their numbers in recruits.[/blockquote] ((You're welcome to find the collars if you want... or I can... doesn't matter ^-^))

Mira furrowed her brow as he stopped and looked at her. So he did know who Masina was... and it turned out to be his sister. She let out a small giggle. "Your sister? Why didn't you tell me before? Why don't you speak much of her? And why would Haven want to try and find her....?" Mira cocked her head to the side in thought. So many questions and so little answers. That was how it always happened though, wasn't it?
She watched as Lucid quickly changed the subject and headed for the edge. She shook her, if he was being this open now, she was sure she'd get answers later then if she asked. Mira glanced around... come to think of it, she hadn't really explored this part either. She headed over to Lucid and looked toward the side. She kinda felt like a pup again. Exploring and looking for treasure.... "Hey, Lucid?" She nudged him with her tail. "What is that?" She slowly walked toward the thing that had caught her attention.

Lucid was glad she didn't ask questions right now, but he knew they were coming later... and he would answer them later. Right now, he was concentrating on marking areas of the territory that hadn't been marked yet. Slowly, he made his way around the area, checking every corner for any sign of a weak mark, then padded back to Mira. She had spotted something that he had missed. He cursed himself inwardly, but was glad to see Mira find something he hadn't. At least she was paying full attention. Two sets of eyes were better than one.
"I'm not sure... Let's dig it the rest of the way up to find out." [/b] He padded forward and with a few swipes of his large paws, the object easily came out of the ground. He pulled it between the two of them and opened it. Within the small box, there were two collars and a brief description of what they were. These collars, very powerful in theory, are capable of miraculous things. The two wearing them are able to communicate with each other, almost telepathically, though no matter where they are. Distance plays no part, therefore making these collars far better than Telekinesis in every way possible.
The possibilities don't stop there. These collars are also capable of cloaking your mind from everyone, except those you choose to let within your mind. Those who are telepathic will be fully useless against this collar should you be wearing it. No creature, not even Ancestors themselves will be able to penetrate your mind.
Even more to these collars, they cloak your presence too, should that be your wish. No scent, no smell, no sound... nothing of you will be present or visible to any around you should you choose to activate this ability. You could stand right in front of a wolf and they wouldn't know you were there.
One last thing these collars are capable of... they allow you to shift. You can shift into any object, creature, being or what have you that you have seen and encountered in life. These collars are very powerful and not meant for those with ill intentions.
Be warned, however, these collars, while powerful, can be addicting. It can change you and will eventually take over your abilities. This is why I have hidden them deep and high up in these mountains, in hopes that none should find them. However, I wrote this note in case one did. The powers of the collars are unlimited, but be warned of the dangers they possess if used too much. Eventually, they will take over.
If you so feel that you are brave enough and have enough self control to use them, then do so, but you have been warned. Good luck and may Mayonaka be with you.
Signed, Z
PS. The collars are one size fits all. [/i] Lucid looked to Mira, waiting for her to finish reading the scripture within the box. So, these collars were able to do all of that? And all you had to do was will them to? How incredible is that! Lucid quickly grabbed toward the black one, but thought a moment The creme colored one seemed much more interesting to him and called to him more... perhaps because it matched Mira's pelt so easily. He grabbed the creme one and put it on, without thinking much about the wording on the box. He waited for Mira's reaction.[/blockquote]

Mira was rather glad that Lucid had come and dug the box up completely. He was much faster at it. She watched as he placed the box between them opened it. Why would two collars be burried so high up in the mountains? She saw the letter and read it quickly... A malicious grin slowly found it's place on her maw. It was definitely her lucky day. She glanced at Lucid, who had already put one of the collars on. It was a cream colored one... one that matched her fur almost perfectly. She cocked her head and grinned. "It must be our lucky day.... Thank you Z."
Mira grabbed the remaining collar and put it on. It was black as night... much like Lucid's pelt, and it stood out around her neck like a sore thumb. However, she kinda liked it that way. She looked again over at Lucid and the collar. Was that a jewel on it? She leaned closer to get a better look. "It's so pretty." She thought. Mira smiled at the thought and re-read through the letter in her mind. Cloaking... huh.... She thought of Lucid and the ability to be him.
BAM!
Mira glanced around and looked Lucid right in the eyes. Everything seemed much smaller... She looked down and nearly screamed. "I'm tall!" She flexed the muscles on her back and was surprised when her wings stretched out. She let out a little squeele and grinned. "It's rather nice up here." She laughed, wondering what it must be like from Lucid's point of view to see his mate looking identical to him.
