The white shuddered, memories flooding him, scenes flashing in his mind, blinding him from within. He collapsed to the ground, his body’s exhaustion apparently just now kicking in. Violent red eyes closed in pain as he struggled to pick himself back up again. Limbs shook as blood dripped down from his bare chest, adding to the slowly growing puddle on the ground. Dirt and small pebbles clung to his fur where it was damp from his blood, giving the red stains on his white pelt outlines of brown and black. The male coughed, blood spewing from his lungs- one had been punctured by a snapped rib as he had fallen. Slowly he stood, legs still uncertain to whether or not they’d agree to hold his weight. His eyes opened, showing cold amber as their color.
He breathed slowly as each breath brought with it a world of pain. Every time his lungs expanded, he could feel the snapped rib on his right side dig into his right lung. The white male staggered, spewing more blood from his fangs. Black claws dug into the cave floor, but not in the eager fashion as they had before. They clung to steady their master, as if his legs alone were not enough.
But in the torrent of pain that seemed to consume all his senses, all he could think about was her. He had left to escape her, to run as far away from her grasp as possible. How was it that she was able to reach him here? How was it that, even worlds apart, he could still feel her touch on his mind?
-skip Crow for this post, I feel like if I add him in, it’ll take away from the emotion I’m trying to convey

Tola watched, perplexed, as the male's entire personality seemed to change. She watched as he collapsed to the ground in pain, be it from his wound or some deeper sort of pain that seemed to be taking hold. She cocked her head to the side, observing him and questioning things within her mind. She watched as he coughed up blood, and watched as his eyes faded to a cold amber.
What was this thing? One minute, strong and on the verge of mass murder, the next, almost helpless and innocent looking. She almost felt sorry for him... almost. She flicked her tail behind her, taking one hesitant step forward. She cocked her head to the other side as she observed, lowering her head slightly to sniff the area and to better satiate her growing curiosity for the brute. She lowered her wings, folding them gently to her sides as she remained a good distance, yet close enough so she could watch him and take in what his every movement did, what it meant.
She opened her mouth as if to speak, but shut it again just as quickly as she opened it. Tola was at a loss for words. This new bout of whiplash, from fearing for her and Crow's lives, to feeling what could almost be called pity for the creature before her, she didn't know what to do with herself. Perhaps it was a trick? Set to have her let her guard down? At this thought, she took her step backward and resumed a defensive stance.
She glanced at Crow, wondering how he was perceiving all of this. Did he think it just as odd as she? Was he as unsure and mixed as she was about how she felt toward this brute? How can one change so quickly, so dramatically? She had never observed anything like it and she was at a loss for words...
She just continued to gawk, head tilted questioningly to the side, as she stood beside her brother, confused and unsure of what to expect next.

White shoulders shook, as if the male were sobbing, but his eyes and expression remained cold. His head tilted slightly as his lifeless eyes closed slowly. Masina… It was the only thing he could perceive from within his cold world. A mere thought that had a vision of her had pulled him from the darkness, drew him out of his heart’s blood rage. He was nothing, no soul, no thoughts; not even a living mortal of this world. His body mimicked life, but it was nothing but a puppet for the black depths that was his heart. The only thing the white male had to go by in this second fake-life were memories from his first, true one. He had been noble, a protector and a guardian of countless individuals. Those memories were how he made his judgments, where he drew the lines – would who he used to be do this? And Masina…she had saved him from crossing that line, saved him from succumbing into the darkness of who he now truly was. His shoulders shook once more. He had never wanted this: but he had asked for it.
Eyes still closed, his long, sad muzzle lifted slowly into the air; still red from Crow’s blood. His chest expanded and contracted to make a sorrowful howl: but he was unable. His cry was smothered and he only let out a slow breathe of air.
Within a split second, Crow realized that this was their chance. The stranger had faltered, and through some act of either fate or pure luck he exposed himself, his throat in clear reach of Crow’s fangs. He could feel the heat within Tola’s jaws, even though she was confused and questioning. She would still be at the ready. Crow’s left paw flexed, sending his talons deep into the cave’s floor. Now he would bring down this beast, make him pay with every fiber of his being. Although his right foreleg still remained useless, he would bring this loner down. With a snarl and a quick snap of his jaws, Crow, like lightning, brought his rear legs up to meet with the cave’s wall. And with everything he was worth, he kicked foreward and up, sending his heavy body into the air. ”Tola, now! Fire!”
Again, everything seemed to slow, as if he controlled time. He could feel the very tips of his ears brush the cave’s ceiling, and he could even hear his own voice echo off of the walls. ‘Fire, Tola, shoot at him! He’s not even paying attention!’ His thoughts seemed to race faster than lightning as he leapt through the air, fangs bared. And within his racing thoughts Crow realized that if he killed this trespasser, they would get no answers. Crow wanted, no, he needed to know what this beast knew of his father, and why he would be justified in assassinating him. Right as his fangs were to come down on the loner’s throat, Crow tilted his skull and heated it as he crashed into the male. [/blockquote]

Everything was going so fast, changing too quickly. Sure, her mind kept up with it, but in the same essence, it hadn't. She watched the brute attempting to make some howl, the soft breath that escaped instead, she could tell there was some inner workings, or even inner demons that were plaguing him... she was curious and her own curiosity tended to get the best of her.
She heard her brother, watched him leap into the air and his order for her to fire, but she stood motionless, her body still warm, ready, but no flame ready to shoot from her mouth. This wolf seemed almost helpless before her, and she wouldn't drop to his previous level and slaughter him when he seemed so unable to defend himself. It wasn't in Tola's blood to kill, honestly. She had the instinct for survival, and the need to protect her pack and family, but at the moment, this brute didn't feel like a threat to her anymore, and she couldn't bring herself to attack him.
"I can't, Crow." [/b] She sighed to herself, keeping her guard up mostly, but allowing it to fall ever so slightly in order for her to figure out what was really going on here. Her mind was so confused and befuddled, she couldn't make sense of any of the events. Things were just happening way too fast for her. She watched Crows form leap toward the brute, his maw opening as if to rip a chunk out of him... Tola still had questions for the brute! She needed answers! "Crow! Don't!"[/b] As she said the words, he seemed to already be thinking similar thoughts, because he closed his mouth and instead ran into the wolf headfirst. Tola darted forward, her flames still hot in her chest as she stood by her brother, ready to defend him should the brute make a sudden attack. She held an intrigued gaze on her face, like a child watching a science experiment unfold before her eyes. "Will you please answer Crow's question? What has Lucid done for you to warrant killing him?"[/b] Her voice was calm, though held her curiosity within every word. She felt weird calling her father by his name, but Crow had used it that way, and she thought it best to do the same, to ask the exact same question in hopes of finally getting a straight answer from the schizophrenic seeming brute.[/blockquote]

Crow felt his head contact with the male’s own. And from his own heat, he could feel the white male’s flesh burn. His weight carried them both to the ground, Crow’s larger form landing on top of the smaller loner, while his momentum caused them both to slide on the cave’s smooth floor. In an instant Crow was on his feet, using his left foreleg to pin the brute to the ground by his neck. Twin tears leaked from the corners of his eyes as his shoulder and right foreleg screamed in pain. He had half-landed on it, loosing his balance because the leg simply dangled like a strip of flesh from his side. His jaws snapped, putting a violent emphasis to Tola’s words. Though it confused him why she had randomly began showing her hidden soft side to this wretch, his words would have been the same (only harsher) if he had made the request first.
The white male lay still, unmoving, as he first had when the fireball had brought him to the ground – when he had broke his rib-. His throat, nearly crushed beneath the weight of Crow’s grip, was barely able to draw in enough breath to keep him conscious, though the pain from his injuries itself would be enough to cripple any mortal wolf beneath it’s grasp. But he held on to the pain, clung to it mentally. In a world where he could feel nothing; no love, no fear…in a world of only anger and rage, the pain was a sweet relief. It was as if his form was being cleansed by an ancestor’s pure song from the inside out. He did not cringe from the pain, not even when his new wound upon his skull from Crow’s most recent blow began stealing his vision. The white wolf licked his chops slowly, relishing in the taste of it all. The pain was a welcome distraction from all the confusion within his mind.
Crow snarled as the male simply lay there. Did he simply expect to die now that he had been brought down! No, Crow would not give him the pleasure. This damn male would answer their questions, and he would pay for his threat. Crow wasn’t even conscious that his vision began to blur from loss of blood out of his shoulder. He could only feel the utter loathing for this white brute. How dare he attack his sister.
”Answer the question!” His jaws snapped just above the male’s cheek. The glow of his blue eyes intensified as the male still remained quiet. His squared maw contorted into a wrathful snarl. ”If you do not answer, then I will make you.” Heat waves slowly began dancing above the paw that held the male’s throat. Slowly the white fur began curling beneath Crow’s talons from the heat. [/blockquote]

Tola watched, unsure of what to do. This brute had gouged a chunk out of her brother, yet here he lay as if he were completely helpless. She noticed the change in him, the difference that happened after his collapse, for she had been observing him. This was what confused her the most, made her so unsure of anything anymore as she padded forward.
"Crow, let me heal your shoulder. If you want to keep him pinned down like that, fine, but I really don't think we have to worry about him when his eyes are not the violent red they were before." [/b] She said this simply and calmly as she moved over toward her brother. Yes, she kept her heat ready, the fire in her lungs ready to explode should the brute make any sudden moves, but she also knew that no matter how ruthless or cruel she may seem, she was sure she couldn't hurt anything so helpless looking, and this brute looked it. His breathing was nearly non-existent, as if he was fighting for each and every breath, holding onto what he could to keep conscious. She almost felt as if there weren't going to be any answers from him if Crow continued to beat on him like he was. She raised a paw to Crow's shoulder, and looked at him, not waiting for permission and just allowing a faint blue hue coarse from her paw over his wound. She didn't care if he was busy or if he didn't want her help, she would have done it anyway. He could complain at her later or snap at her now, she didn't care. What she knew was they had a moment where she could get to him and help him before he bled to death. She would deal with his wrath later if needed. They may be at odds most of the time, but she didn't like to see her brother injured and weakened like he was, especially if the brute did spring a sudden attack. "Better? Next time, try to be a little more careful."[/b] She said this in a snarky, yet sisterly way... Teasing and caring at the same time, but only because she had begun to see how weak Crow had been getting from lack of blood. His wound was now healed, save for slight stiffness where the muscle had to be regrown and reattached. She shook her fur, returning to her brothers side, ready for an attack should one come. "I know you want answers. I do too, but I don't think causing him more harm is going to get you those. Its not the same being that attacked, somehow. He's different, and I can't quite understand it, but I have a feeling we don't need to fear this part of him so much as the other part, or whatever. Does that make sense?"[/b] To her, she sounded crazy, rambling on and on, but she also felt she sounded as if she were on to something. She observed everyone she came into contact with, much more so than any other wolf she had met... and as she observed this brute, she found out things that she was more confused than ever about, and things that demanded answers but something told her torture was not the way to get them.[/blockquote]

The fur curled from the heat on his neck as it began seeping through his skin. He could feel the grip of death, and would gladly embrace it, were it not just a breath beyond his reach. Lost in this world of pain, his mind began focusing on reality. He was brought from his fog, thoughts beginning to come clear within his mind. Before, he didn’t want to spill what he knew about Lucid for fear that the pack was supporting the alpha. But now it seemed that he hadn’t even told his own kin. The white wondered; did Mira know? Would the lost female even care? His dead eyes slowly turned, though his head couldn’t, to look to the young wolves who had bested him in his rage. They couldn’t kill him. They could rip and tear at him all they wanted, but he would still live as long as his damned heart commanded it. But, seeing them both, lost in their anger and confusion, he wondered what they would think, knowing what he knew. Would they care? They were the blood of Lucid; it ran through their veins, gave them life. But he also knew that that meant nothing. He had the blood of an alpha, who he once was, dripping from his chest. That blood carried with it pride, nobility, love and glory; and it had nothing to do with what he had become.
But there was another point to consider. He looked to these pups now, saw into their eyes. He saw love and admiration for their father. …something he used to see within the eyes of his own children… Would he truly destroy their vision of their dad? Would he be the one to shatter their reality? The white male looked away, staring with lifeless eyes to the paws of Tola before him. Three amber and one green…those had been the little eyes that once held deep love and admiration for him; him as a father. From his memories, he couldn’t imagine what he would have felt if that love had not been in their eyes. To be a father, and see the eyes of a child who could not admire you… He couldn’t imagine what he might have felt; sadness? Pain? It didn’t matter now, even if he could see those eyes once more, and even if they held no love for him, he would feel nothing. He was empty inside, a puppet of basic wants and needs, driven by anger, hate and pain. Could he destroy these pup’s reality? Yes he could.
His cold eyes looked back up to them both, dead and lifeless. ”I came to avenge another, to attempt to correct a wrong with death.” His voice was cold and steady, the ragged edge of a rough past clung to its edges. ”The alpha Lucid gained his position of power through the political means of murder. His predecessor was his own father and family. He removed the previous alpha and alphess from power and made it so the remainder of his kin would not take the throne, save for one. He poses a threat to all the packlands, and will destroy the other alphas as he had his own.” His eyes fell back foreward, as if tired by the strain of looking up the pups. ”I came to eliminate that threat, to free this realm from his terror…and to free Masina of her fear…” [/blockquote]

Tola listened, her mind falling victim to overload from the information this brute was telling her. It couldn't be true, could it? Her father would never kill his own kin for leadership, would he? Kill his own father and mother? She couldn't and wouldn't believe it. True, Lucid was distant and never showed any true caring in them except for who would be his heir, but even the idea of either of his kin that remained in his packlands taking his lands when he was gone had seemed to diminish somehow.
Tola had thought that taking the plains was an odd thing to do, considering it was meant for loners, but she trusted in her fathers judgement on that call, knowing and thinking that he was doing what was best for the pack, but with this new light potentially being shed on her by this loner who had previously tried to kill her, she was growing more and more unsure of her father and his true intentions.
She shook her head, shaking away the tears that were threatening to well up in her eyes, and looked at the brute. "You're lying!" [/b] she shouted at him with anger and fear in her voice. She didn't want to believe her father would do such things... but some part of her, deep inside, was telling her that the brute spoke the truth, and that both angered and scared her. She didn't think that her father could be capable of such things. And with the sudden change of claiming the loner lands for his own, he must have some sort of reason for doing it... she wasn't sure what though. What if he decided to turn on his own children and kill his next in line? She knew that wolves existed where immortality could be given, but would her father be able to find that? She had heard stories as she tread the lands, observed other loners and wolves she happened to pass when she was marking the territory, but could her father really resort to killing Crow and herself? "You have to be lying..."[/b] She said in a calmer, almost defeated voice as her eyes grew distant in thought. She looked to Crow, wondering what his reaction to this information would be and waiting for his lead as to how he would respond to this brute.[/blockquote]

0o I have to draw this next scene!
That was Crow’s final straw. He would be pushed no more. The young male had never killed another (prey didn’t count in his mind, they were inferior to him) but this damned male would be the first if this hellish charade of his didn’t end. Crow couldn’t, for the life of him, figure out why the white male felt compelled to lie. He was hanging onto life if only by a thread, and Crow was in prime position to cut it. Did the male wish to die but not have the willful means to commit his own suicide? Crow couldn’t puzzle through why else this male would lie to them. Why he would provoke them more when he had already been beaten to the ground. The young male’s squared snout went crooked and contorted in disgust. He didn’t want to be this brute’s reaper, but it looked as if it might turn out that way if they didn’t get real answers.
Crow’s deep chest burst with a wicked snarl, his anger besting him once more. He placed his other paw –now useful thanks to his sister- with heated claws onto the male’s neck. And from the energy of his rage he felt toward this male, he slid him foreword, purposely dragging his back against the cave floor. Slamming the male into the corner of the cave, where the wall met the floor, he created a sound ‘thud’. Blue eyes burned hatefully as he used his massive strength to hoist the male up by the neck and pin him against the wall with one massive paw against his throat. His other he held by his side, heated and at the ready, should the male choose the wrong words once more.
”Tell the truth!” His voice nearly a roar.
The white male hadn’t even flinched as he was slammed, with the weight of Crow, into the wall. The impact had been so much that he felt it all through his limbs; it made his claws ache on top of it all. They didn’t believe him; he should have expected it more. He could feel the taste of death that Crow was willing to bring, it burned right through the hot claws that threatened to puncture his throat. Was he to die here? He yearned for death but it still remained out of reach. Perhaps he could torment them both enough so that they would give him release in their anger. But he would never see her again…
His hind legs barely were touching the ground as he was held up by his throat. And he couldn’t even reach Crow with his foreclaws, the young wolf was so large that even as he pinned him to the wall the length of his foreleg put him out of reach. Crow was ready to kill him, he had it in his eyes –eyes of his father-. But the white male knew that death would not come to him, even if they tried. He could feel it in his chest, if they attacked him again he’d only awaken in the blood rage of his dark heart again. They’d both end up dead. And he would have two more innocent lives to weigh down his shoulders. He wouldn’t have that, he didn’t want to kill them.
”Why would I lie? You hold my life in your claws. I’ve everything to loose.” Cold voice was slow with his explanation. He had to make Crow stop. His anger had to be doused before it took them all to a moment that could not be reversed. [/blockquote]

Tola grew slightly nervous when she looked at Crow. She had never seen that sort of look in his eyes. He looked like he was flat out ready to kill this brute. Her mind raced as she wondered how she should be reacting. She had never been faced with a problem quite like this one. She knew, deep down, that the brute wasn't lying, but she wanted so much to believe that he was... to believe that her father was not capable of so much bloodshed, especially with his own family.
That put their lives at risk, didn't it? If her father could kill his own family without shedding a tear or blinking an eye, didn't that mean that he could so easily turn around and kill them? Tola knew if it came to fighting her father, she would probably be unable to do anything. She couldn't stand the thought of shedding her own family's blood. And what about her mother? Did her mother know of what Lucid had done? If she did, did she care? If she didn't know, then she was just as innocent as Crow and Tola... but if she did, what would Tola do?
Tears had begun to fall down the sides of Tola's face. It was very rare that she actually cried, and she was sure that her brother had never seen it happen before, but here she was... feeling so lost and alone.
She jumped slightly when Crow had slammed the brute against the cave wall an she ran forward, tears falling down her cheeks silently. "Crow..." [/b] Her voice was small... just about as small as she felt at the moment in light of all of this information. No matter how much she willed and wished the brute to be lying, she knew he wasn't, and she couldn't quite pinpoint why she knew... it was just a feeling she had down in her gut. She thought hard, remembering how Haven had left. Did he know what father had done? Was that why he had left? She thought hard on this and wondered what her brother was up to now. She knew he had travelled to the waterfall lands... she had smelled his scent and followed him in secret, scorning him for leaving behind his family.... but she began to wonder if he had known something or had any idea what their father had done. She made a note to go find him and talk to him once things settled down here a bit. She didn't know what to do, didn't know what to say, so she just stood next to Crow, looking from him to the brute and back again.[/blockquote]

Tola’s voice touched something in him, caused him to shiver from his shoulders down. He retracted his paw from the pinned brute suddenly, as if he was the one getting burned. The white male slid to the ground, landing cautiously on his haunches. He coughed slightly, but otherwise kept still before the young wolves.
Crow backed up, tails waving uneasily. He didn’t know what to think, or even less, why Tola thought this beast spoke the truth. How could she believe him so easily? They had no proof, no fact, other than his words. And anyone –especially one who was planning to kill- could easily lie. Crow faltered at what he had just thought. If someone was planning to kill…they could easily lie… If someone had murdered… …they could easily lie…
His wings ruffled at his inward shock, but the violence in his glowing eyes did not falter in the least. Black face had grown unreadable, much like the emotionless male before him. Crow did nothing but stare into his eyes. There was something odd, something otherwordly about them. They were amber, he had seen that color before. Black pupils and white pools…nothing odd there… But they had no light within them. The only other eyes that Crow had seen without light were the eyes of his prey after he had taken the life from them. This wolf had the eyes of the dead. Looking into them, Crow could feel the wicked chill of the underworld. He didn’t want to feel that anymore, but he wouldn’t look away. He wanted this beast gone.
”Get out.” The command was simply stated, no harsh emotions or snaps. But it was a stern command, and one could tell by the slight inclination in Crow’s voice that he wouldn’t have it denied. ”Get out, now.”
The white male picked himself up slowly, limbs shaking slightly, threatening to let him fall back to the cold, cave floor. He turned, and walked slowly to the caves entrance, but paused at it’s opening. He had crushed their worlds, and even if they did not admit it, he could feel it within them. They might not believe him fully, but he knew that he had certainly shaken the view they held of their father. His voice was quiet, but held no emotion, and he didn’t turn to look at them, ”…I’m sorry-”
”GET OUT!”
The white male didn’t try to continue his meaningless apology. His battered form stepped out into the torrent of snow. Disappearing in it’s blanket of ghostly white.
Crow snarled, though he knew the male was gone. His eyes fell back to where the beast had first fallen, chops rolling in disgust in the pool of blood that lay there. He followed the smears of red, where he had slid the male across the cave floor and up the wall. There was another pool below where the male had been pinned. Crow’s tails lashed –much like his father’s- as he followed the thin trail of blood where the male had stood and walked out of the cave. ”Burn it.” he commanded Tola. But feeling her begin to protest, ”Burn it!” His voice was stern and harsh. ”I want no evidence of this!”

Tola watched her brother, slightly afraid of what she was seeing. His eyes went emotionless and he held no emotions in his features or his face, which bothered her. She had never seen her brother seem so distant, and it worried her. She watched as her brother let the brute free, how he had told him to get out.
What caught her off guard about the brute, was that he apologized, though there was no emotion to it. It almost seemed as if it were an empty apology. She looked to the entrance where his white form, bloodstained with his own and Crows blood, disappeared into the blizzard outside. Tola turned her gaze back toward her brother and watched him for a moment, before he spoke again, commanding her to burn the blood.
"But-" [/b] He had cut her off, just when she was about to protest, so figuring it was for the better, she did as she was told, though he could have just asked her. She figured now was not the time for little things like that. They had both received news that didn't sit well with them, be it true or untrue, and they were both having a hard time dealing with it. She sighed, raising her body temperature to its white hot state, and blew white hot flames from her mouth in a flame-thrower like fashion. They washed over the bloodied area, licking at the substance with hunger. It didn't take long for her to finish, stopping at the wall where the brute had been pinned and where the blood was the thickest. She then turned her gaze to the path the brute took to leave the cave, and burned the small splotches that had remained behind as he moved forward. She gave a quick once-over, assuring herself that all the blood was burning away, before she turned her gaze toward Crow. She didn't say anything... she wasn't sure of what she could say. She just looked at him, her eyes wide and unsure, tear streaks down the side of her face. What could she say at a time like this? What was there to say? Their father had potentially murdered his own family to gain his current position, and was probably going to do the same thing if the story was true... what could her and Crow do about it? She needed to speak with Haven, to find out if he knew anything about their father and to see if that was the reason he had left in the first place. Not to mention, should their father turn on his own children, it would be better to have Haven with them... And she wasn't even sure about where mother stood. She sighed slightly, waiting for Crow to say something... anything... to wake her from this livid nightmare.[/blockquote]

He looked to his sister, giving her a quick nod of accomplishment, before slowly striding to the cave entrance. There he stood, glowing eyes gazing deep into the blinding blizzard outside, seeing nothing as he thought. His thick neck with its long guard hairs trembled and waved with the growing winds outside. Great wings, solid black in color, gently unfurled and furled again as his mind raced with thoughts. He took in a deep breath of the frigid air. Pack members would be gathering at the den soon. The weather was growing too violent for them to sleep on their own for much longer. That was why there could be no evidence. His tails lashed as he turned to Tola, head held high.
”Tola,” His voice was strong, powerful; the voice of a leader. ”You are to stay here, watch over the pack. Call them to stay at the dens should the weather prove to furious for them to be out on their own. Protect each member, and tell them nothing of this.” He looked away, staring at something in the snow that was unseen to the naked eye. ”I’m going somewhere, and no one is to follow.” He looked back to her, eyes holding a silent apology, and voice gentler with it. ”Not even you.”
He had to take care of this pack, and she too was designated with the responsibility. Their bickering and rivalry ended here, he would have no more of it. Tola would either listen, or she would not, but either way, the life of the pack – perhaps even the life of Aelyn- hung on both their shoulders. [/blockquote]

Tola watched Crow as he stared outside the dens as if contemplating the snow outside, though Tola knew better. He was thinking about what had just happened, just as she was. She wasn't sure what to do, aside from find her other brother, Haven and discuss things with him... and she knew right where to find him.
Crow had begun to speak, pulling her from her thoughts. He expected her to stay here while he went out and didn't tell her what he was doing? She didn't want to bicker... now wasn't the time... and the pack needed looking after, but was she really going to be the one to stay behind? No. She wasn't one to sit by and let things happen... she was one to make things happen and she wasn't about to allow Crow to go out on his own on some random tangent when she had an agenda of her own to take care of.
"And just where do you think you're going that you expect me to sit here while you go out on some random trip? I have something I need to do and I will not sit around here waiting for you to return. You know that's not me. Where are you going?" [/b] She wasn't entirely sure as to where he thought he was going, but if it had anything to do with the events that had just happened, it would be either to mother and father, which would be a suicide mission if everything held true.... or to Haven. That must be it... he must be wanting to go see Haven, just like she was. Did he even know where he was? She doubted it, but then again, she had been wrong before... and today was a perfect example. "Are you going to look for Haven? Do you even know where he is?"[/b] She looked at him hard and strong, her expression never wavering and showing she was bound and determined to head out on her mission. If that was Crow's mission as well, it would be better they do it together then. If he had a different agenda, then they could go their separate ways and leave a member of the pack in charge. Its not like they needed to follow their fathers orders anymore, if everything held true, so they could claim the lands for their own right now if they wanted, though Tola knew that would be a bad idea at this time. She looked at her brother long and hard, waiting for him to speak. If they both left, who would they leave in charge of the pack? Elva seemed to have a pretty level head... She seemed the best bet... and Tola knew that Zytka would be the worst to put in the position. She pondered this more, waiting for her brother to respond to her so they could discuss things. "No more secrets."[/b] She said simply as she watched her brother, waiting patiently for a response.[/blockquote]

…no more secrets…
Her words echoed in his head. Fine, if that was the way she wanted it, then that’s what it would be.
He turned his back to her, sitting at the cave entrance, casting his eyes once more to the nothing outside. Incase his face showed more than what he’d like to her, he didn’t want her to see. ”I’m not going after Haven. I’m going to our father. I’d like to hear a few words in his own voice. Don’t take anything that has happened here seriously, Tola. For all we know that rogue was only trying to take Father’s land from him. He presented no proof, no facts; and don’t count his words, they are most likely nothing more than lies. We are a very powerful pack, and that gives us many enemies. The reason I ask you to stay here, and not me, is because I’m faster in flight than you are and can reach my destination and come back to defend the mountains quickly. And more of the pack knows you, since you’ve always been around to accept them into the borders. It makes more sense for me to go.” His eyes closed slowly as his inner thoughts swam, causing his voice to grow slightly quieter. ”Then you can go get Haven if you wish.”
A small tear escaped from one closed eye, but he quickly licked it away before Tola could see. Crow wasn’t away of just how much he missed his brother until now. [/blockquote]

Tola listened to her brother and could tell he was attempting to stand strong, though she knew that neither one of them held that capability yet. She sighed to herself, looking down at the ground as he spoke.
"And what if what that loner said is true? You could be going on a suicide mission. If father really did kill our grandparents, who's to say he won't kill you too? I don't like it, but I understand where you're coming from. Just promise me that if anything goes downhill, that you'll get out of there as quick as you can? If anything happens to you, I don't think I could stand it, especially if it was our own father that did it. Promise me you'll be safe?" [/b] She didn't know why, but she felt a stronger connection to her brother now that this brute had visited. The reason behind it, she didn't know, but she did know that she cared for him and didn't want to see him hurt. "If anything does happen, find some way to send word. I'll come to you if I have to, as quickly as possible."[/b] She wasn't sure what she could do or how he would be able to send word aside from howling, but she did know that she didn't want anything to happen to her older brother. She sniffed slightly, holding back the onslaught of tears that were working to escape her eyes. "Hurry back. I can wait to speak with Haven until you return. Now is not the time for bickering anymore, so this time, just this once, I will stand aside and let you do what you have to do. I will submit to your request and wait here with the pack until you return, then I shall do what I need to do."[/b] She thought for a moment longer, finally coming to realization how great of a leader Crow would be. She pondered more, sighing inwardly to herself. She had a lot to think about in light of recent events... what was best for the pack, what was best for her and her brother... a lot of things. Not to mention, they both carried a huge burden if what the loner said was true. She sighed to herself and raised her eyes to look at her brother.[/blockquote]

Drawing a deep breath into his lungs, Crow let it out slowly, clearing his mind and emotions –wiping the black slate of his mind clean-. He took ever single one of her words to heart, though he didn’t show it. Her words played and tugged on his mind, dancing aimlessly with emotions that he would not let through. He didn’t understand how she could so easily trust the stranger’s words, but Crow could tell that they had truly worried her, and that she truly was worried for him. His ears wanted to flick, but he wouldn’t let them. His large black form sat as a stone, as if he had been carved from a stalagmite from the cave floor. His only movement was the involuntary billowing of the fur on his chest and mane from the wind outside.
”He won’t kill me Tola.” Crow stood and slightly unfurled his wings. ”I won’t let him.”
He didn’t look back to her as he stepped from the cave, unfurling his wings to their full length now that there were no rock walls to hinder them. Heating the air behind him, he expanded it rapidly, rocketing his form into the air faster than the blink of an eye. Behind him he left a bright green patch of ground, where his heat had melted the snow outside the cave.
++Crow has left the area++

Tola watched her brother, worried for him. She had never worried for her brother so much in her life, but now she was scared to death for him. She didn't want to believe the loner, but her every instinct was telling her that he spoke the truth, which was why she fell into believing him so easily. Above all things, she trusted her instincts... they had never steered her wrong in the past, though she hoped more than ever that they were wrong now.
She sighed to herself as she listened to Crow's parting words, and stood quickly as he stepped into the blizzard. She ran to the cave entrance, getting there just after he had departed and looked down at the ground where he had heated the air. She sighed to herself, watching the furiously falling snow cover up the place where he had previously stood in mere seconds, before turning her glowing gold gaze to the storm outside. She couldn't see her brother, but she hoped he knew what he was doing.. hoped that he would return safely.
She sighed to herself, raising her maw to the air to call the pack forth, inside out of the cold. They needn't be enlightened to what was going on... all they needed to know was that it was storming out and the pack needed to stick together for warmth. No pack members should be out in that storm, let alone any that were out there alone. She sighed to herself, taking a deep breath and howling into the cold.
Wolves of the Mountains, come to the den area and out of the cold. When the weather dies down, we will do a pack hunt, but for now, come back and rest. She sighed quietly before stepping back into the cave where she had created her own den area. It rose higher than the rest, up on a ledge that stood out from the walls, and where she could see all of the pack members. There were several ledges like this, held only for the higher ranking members, and she had chosen one specifically that allowed her to see and keep an eye on everyone.
Crow, please be careful... was her last thought before resting her head on her paws and waiting out whatever the storm may bring. ((So I assume the thread is finished now. Woo hoo for plots!))
