"Ushishishi, indeed. I'm not sure why or how exactly, although I assume it must be genetic somewhere in my family. I do know however that upon my descovery of this power I found myself landed in a stream by my own shock."[/b]
*I grin.*[/i]
"Think yourself lucky you didn't have to go for a swim too, shishishi. I mean the water was very cold and I'm sure the fish were laughing at me...." ^^[/b]
*I have my tongue out at this point and tilt my head playfully, eyes closed. Opening my eyes again I keep all other aspects of my expression the same before looking up into your eyes and broadening my grin. A few sharp teeth showing but nothing to be threatening, just my usual manicness.*[/i]
"And as for you blackness, I know exactly why it's so that you make fire." *Smiles further. My teeth a glistening white and my eyes sparkling with excitement you sometimes get when you've just figured something out and are itching to share the knowledge with another.*[/i] "It's cause you're black like coal but if you poke a glowing pile or coals until it's all riled up, it bursts into flames and devours its attacker, just like you. Am I right?"[/b]
*Still walking with you as I speak, I smile softly to myself.*
--It's nice to walk side by side, and allthough the talking was unexpected and that either it or silence would be equaly welcomed with a smile and good gratitude the small talk left less time to think and I was greatful of this.-- Thinking never was a preferance of mine as my mind had a tendancy to wander onto more delicate matters of which I wished to avoid.[/b]

lmao, not sure how wolves know about charcoal (since it's a man-made object) but it works
"Charcoal, huh?" He grinned slightly. "Nah, don't think so. Me and a pile of condensed wood shavings drenched in flammable liquids don't really have that much in common. And besides, I'm not exactly the 'devouring' type. Sure, if you poked me I'd probably poke anyone back, but as for devouring, nah, couldn't do it. Wouldn't have the gut to stomach them. I hear wolf tastes terrible. At least when it ain't boiled." O'Malley glanced just in time to catch her smiling softly to herself. He looked away, knowing that it had not been for him. His tail flicked as, once again, they walked in silence. But although it was slightly awkward for him (he rarely walked in silence even when he was alone) he got the feeling that she didn't at all mind. So to avoid interrupting her contentment, he concentrated on the soft pad of their footsteps on the cool ground.
He let out a heated breath, causing the air before him to hiss in displeasure. From above, a dulled leaf fell from it's perch and brushed against his maroon nose as it fell. He watched it settle before looking up to the trees. Nearly all of the leaves had departed their canopy homes in response to the coming winter. He shivered lightly as he thought of last winter. Snow up to your chest, ice storms like there was no tomorrow. He sighed, desperately hoping that this next one would be more merciful. From behind one of the night's clouds, the moon peeked through for a brief moment, illuminating the reds, oranges and browns of the leaves in a pale, white light. "Ah, nature never ceases to amazing me." he spoke quietly, pausing their walk to gaze up at Fall's choice of the color spectrum. "What's this?" Right as the moon disappeared once more behind the clouds, it's light reflected off an object hanging from a tree branch. Judging by the way the light had reflected, or more-so 'glinted', whatever it was, was metallic. O'Malley's gentle smile curved into a wide grin, a clear sign that his curiosity had taken he best of him.
He trotted over to the tree from which it had come from, staring intently trying to spot the object again. His only eye squinted, struggling to focus to accurately perceive depth perception. "There!" He spotted a dull gray outline of whatever it may be. It hung on the branch just above the lowest one. He growled lightly with excitement. Jumping up, he placed his front paws on the tree's trunk, but it remained well out of reach. Whipping his head around to look at Phrax, he opened his maw excitedly to speak, but hesitated. He was going to ask her to give him a boost, but in her condition there was just no way. He looked back up to the object, his overwhelming curiosity causing him to bark uselessly at it.
He sat back on his haunches, thinking intently. O'Malley's first reaction was to breathe a jet of flame to simply burn the branch down, but he was unsure of how dry the canopy was. And if the flame got away from him, he would very well be responsible for the destruction of the forest. He gulped, thinking of the new alpha ordering his head to be brought to him. And he couldn't well have Phrax attempted to break the branch with electricity, for if a spark went astray, it would end up with the same consequence. Then the alpha would have both their heads. And without even meeting them. He spoke to let her know, "Don't think about shooting, don't want to burn our new home to ashes before officially moving in."
He growled from the inside of his throat. How irritating. Even if Phrax were to fly up to reach it (though one of her wings had looked damaged) the branches were to thick and close together for a wolf to reach in and take the object. The soft growl came once more. How irritating. Whoever put that thing there was irritating. O'Malley cursed them in his mind. Why, if they were here now, he'd spit on them for sure. He supposed he'd even spit fire at them. Yeah, spit fire right at their toes and watch 'em dance. Then he'd heat the rocks and pebbles beneath their toes to make 'em dance even faster. He wondered how hot he could get the rocks...and would the burn with enough heat to turn the surrounding sand into glass? "Wait a second!" Heat...rocks...glass...sand...The gears of his mind began churning at full capacity.
He leapt up from his lazy, sitting position, and began digging at the ground. The topsoil quickly disappeared in a pile behind him and he carefully removed any rocks or pebbles from the sand that lay beneath them. Smoothing it out carefully with his paws, he crouched down next to it, eying the branch that held his prize. He mumbled to himself as he widened the area of sand he had uncovered. Grinning, he moved the accumulated dirt and rocks aside, quickly bounding over to Phrax's side. "See where I uncovered the patch of sand?" He motioned idly with his front, right foot. "Do you think you've got enough zip in you to electrocute it?" His fiery eye twinkled with his mass intelligence and inventiveness.
OMG!!! Looong post! BUT I LOVE IT!!! *squeezes O'Malley* I lurrrves youuuu! *O'Malley struggles to get away*

*I couldn't help but think that for my Pussy's benefit I should probably try to strike up a conversation. But to do so and avoid agrivating him again was proving far more difficult than originaly imagined. I was enjoying company and didn't want to drive it away by stepping on its paws too often so for now remained silent.
My self-aimed smile, that had continued despite my brow furrowing in in thought of what to say now broadened at his little joke. My expression relaxed again and as he looked away I saw his neck, temporarily un-guarded. My smile remains calm but my "air" twists and becomes bit more manic as certain thoughts whizz through my brain.*[/i]
--I shall have to take a bite sometime and make a proper analasys of the flavour of un-boiled wolf. ... True. There was that lick but a mouth full of fur isn't exactly packed full of flavour.-- "Hehehehe"[/b] *A soft laugh escapes me at the thought of it.*
*Returning again to the world beyond my crazed mind leads my ears tho perk up at the sound of irritable huffing and growling followed by a sudden exclamation that came from my companion. Looking up I see the rear end of said companion sticking out of a newly dug hole and tail wagging quite rapidly, the hole still in the process of being dug.
Eyes now wide at the sight I turn to look away, redening, before sudenly raising my ears in alarm and having to duck to avoid the odd batches of earth kicked up by this crazed mutt.
As I duck it swoops over my head. I sigh before another, Slap-Bang, hits me in the face. I snarl quietly in annoyance, not so much directed at O'Malley as the whole senario. Beneath the layer of irritation however a spark is crackling inside me and the temptation to pounce him grows. I lower my fore-paws, tail end in the air and wagging. I'd never felt like this!
At that moment I saw something sparkle and realised that this must have been the inflictor of O'Malley sudden insanity. I righted my possition hurriedly and smoothed down my fur as best I could, embarassed imensly by this.... this.. display of.. I couldn't place my paw on it but something about that rush, that urge to play.. I felt longing and regret then that I had let it go so soon and not asked for it's name. At the same time I felt undignified for having let "it" slip.
Having checked myself over for any final details that might give me away I then diverted my attention back to the object. It was most curious, and certainly very pretty.
Looking down again from the branches I saw O'Malley trotting towards me, I stare him blankly, one ear still raised the other now low in slight confusion at the motive behind your request.*[/i]
"Yes, I rekon so. I'm not heavy though, I could just as easily get it if you were to lift me up. I mean I would fly but I think the branches are to cluttered for my wings, I have to admit that their size is a bit disproportionate... really they're just a nusience hehe."[/b]
*I walk slowly over towards the pit and then stand ready. My body has started to tremble and I paw at the ground, clawing up tiny pebbles nervously. This could of course look like a build up, I hoped that it would. I began to charge.*
*My fur begins to rise as though windswept, my eyes glisten and my body becommore rigid as though tensing for an upcoming onslaught. Sparks emit from the tips of my ears and tails and as I close my eyes a ribbon of electricity runs over my fur ans makes it sheen. This gets wilder and faster. *I picture my target and after pawing at the ground once more and lowering my front, I raise up my torso and head, my nose in the air.
My ears are perked upwards, was are my tails and a Huge jolt of electricity emitts from them and stabs into the sand.*
*My leggs shake further and I sit down slowly but then, I laugh, triumphantly at my ability. That was something I never knew I could do, and more so was the fact I hadn't passed out. I smiled gleefully and turn back to you.*
[/i]((OOC: by "air" I just mean the general vibe she gives off (the same vibes you might pick up on from humans in real life.) 2ndly, what does O'Malley's fur taste like? *grins*))[/i]

”Ha hah!” O’Malley barked, his front paws jumping off the ground in a puppish manner. ”Phrax, I could kiss ya, but I don’t know you that well!” He bounded over, inspecting her handiwork. Where the sand on the ground had been before, now lay a solid, nearly clear, formation of glass. ”Amazing!” He ran a maroon paw over the cragged surface. ”I’ve never seen any form of fulgurite that was so clear! You must pack more of a punch than I first originally though, Phrax. This is brilliant! Way better than what I had expected, not to mention that it spread deep, can’t believe the heat you created! Damn, Phrax, how do you keep so much energy contained in that little body of yours?” He never looked to her as he spoke, his eye and his paws constantly rolled over the odd formation of rock before him. O’Malley felt just like a pup again, being able to put his vast knowledge and inventive skills to good use. He was so absorbed into what his mind was concocting, he didn’t even notice Prhax as her legs shook with fatigue. ”And now,” a sly grin formed across his maw, ”it’s my turn.”
He smushed his lips together, as if to whistle, but instead a small jet of flame creped out. O’Malley carefully directed the flame to the primitive glass, positioning the heat with care. He worked like this for quite sometime, often getting up to change his position only by a fraction of an inch, or ceasing to breath fire and look up to where the branch held his prize before continuing his careful work. His maroon tail twitched whenever he changed the angle of his flame, and his ears flicked whenever he increased the heat. Red paws rested carefully on the top of the formation as he breathed into it at an angle, monitoring the temperature from above. If Phrax had said anything, or asked any questions, he didn’t hear one word. When O’Malley set his mind to a task of interest, it was much like how his mind wandered whenever he was alone. It would take more than an explosive thunderstorm to bring him from his labor-of-love.
”Ah-hah!” He sat up after carefully examining his craftsmanship. ”Perfection.” The clouded formation of glass had transformed into a nearly clear rock at the points which O’Malley had worked on. There was a medium-sized hole trailing from one side of the formation into the top of it, creating a ‘tube’ in the middle resembling a J pattern. He peered up to the tree branch, tilting his head, one last time before grinning in his sly way. He stepped away from his creation for just a moment, searching the ground for any small, smooth stone. He flipped over many with his paw before flicking them away for either being too large or too small. After a few minutes of searching a deep woof resonated from his chest in excitement of having found the perfect one. He picked it up with his maw and placed it completely in his mouth, running it over with his tongue and swishing it around in his saliva. There could not be one speck of dirt left on the stone. Bringing it over to the top of the formation of fulgurite, he carefully deposited the stone into the top hole.
He crouched down to the opposite side and spat away the dirt in his mouth. Placing his maw over the opposite hole on the bottom, he took a deep breath in before letting it out in a rapid manner. At first nothing happened as O’Malley continued to breath his fire into the hole. But as the heated pressure beneath the rock built up, it forced it upwards in an explosive manner. The rock shot to the sky, faster than any lightning, and snapped the branch that held the object clean off of the tree. ”Ha ha ha!’ He barked happily as it fell to the ground. Trotting over, he moved the branch aside to find the object. A silver chain lay on the dull forest floor, reflecting brilliantly in the smothered moonlight. He grinned, slipping it over his skull until it rested at the middle of his neck. Turning to Phrax, he opened his maw to say something, but the rock he had shot into the air had decided to fall back down onto his head with a clunk. O’Malley flinched as he brought up a paw to rub his new bump. [/blockquote]

*Having sat and watched you with confusion and awe the calm silence that had fallen around me was instatntly broken by the 'clunk' of the rock and a very manic laughing escaped from my muzzle and I fell to the floor once more and began to roll about, all fatigue forgotten and tears streaming from my eyes at this hilarious irony. I breathe heavily for a moment and look up at you from my lieing position on the soft, nicly wamrmed, earth. I then speak, my whole being manic and frenzied with pride and hysteria.*[/i]
"Oh dear thing I do love you so."[/b] *The grin at this point is wider than usual and not unlike a trap that it might spilt my head in two and leave a toothed gaping hole.*[/i] "The mighty wolf of fire who can retrieve any item was defeated by a mere rock that turned against him once it's service had been fulfilled."[/b]
*I finally rise to my paws and smile with good intention and appology, there was no intent to be insulting but just the humour felt by that part of me I had been and was still ashamed of. I had to remain courteous.* *I sniggered still before shutting right up as your first words hit me and danced around my head:[/i] "Phrax, I could kiss ya"[/b] As I walk towards you I lower my head, grumbling as I feel heat cross over my cheeks and I feel sure they must be glowing.
*Reaching your side so that you can see me I stick out my tongue and glare at you with a child-like, half felt hatred and sulk but at the same time my eyes are happy and joyous towards you. I stare at you debating whether to take my bite now or save it till an even more embarassing time. Either way my revenge would be sweet. A soft, somewhat micheivious, but by no means threatening:[/i] "Ushishishishi" ^-^[/b]

*I sigh then letting my laughter fade off amoung the trees and I gaze out into the dappled greenery that is beginning t turn with the coming of the frost. My eyes are darting around me as I, for the first time relax enough to gaze in awe at the true beauty of my surroundings. I breathe in and smile to myself before turning to O'Malley, grinning.*
"The air here really is wonderful is it not? Even in this autumn there is still life. You must be able to smell it, the lush moss and foliage, the stink of the animals. It's all so fresh and crisp."[/b]
*My ears perk up then before falling low as I remember the only other Crisp air I had felt fill my lungs. It was like ice itself, snow all around me and nothing but white. No colour, no joy, no life. I had been all alone and never again would that be a place I would venture too.
I sigh once more before grinning up at you, my tails begin to swish too and fro with a small level of excitement. My eyes are sparkling brightly and I quickly stand readying myself to move. My questionable sanity was playing up again and I could feel my brain starting to fizz and bubble inside the constraints within my skull.
This was like no lapse of sanity like any other I had ever felt before but it was a rush and I felt my body begin to spark again, small jolts fizzling off me with my growing impatience.*[/i]
"Damnit dear thing, I want to run! You wanna find a pack dontcha? Run with me!? Race me!? Will calling you Pussy motivate you enough to get you to chase me if only to tear me to shreds when you catch up?
If it'll work I'll call you Pussy"[/b] *I drop onto my fore-paws and wag my rear end and tails playfully, the childish madness now completely overcome.* "Come on! Ushishishishishi!"
*And with that I begin to run, bounding swiftly and nimbly through the undergrowth and over the uneven ground willing you to chase after me, ready with the pet-name should you not follow or start to fall behind.*
