Morning seemed to come sooner than expected and as I opened my eyes to look to the dawn's colors dancing across the skies I felt dazed and out of it. For a moment I allowed my lids to fall back down to conceal my sight from the world, my ears flowing back against my mane in a thoughtful manner as I simply listened.. There were birds that were beginning their songs, there were frogs singing as well, and yet the marshland was very much alive with the sound of insects all buzzing. I opened my eyes then, my amber hued eyes finally marsh.. that's tin all the sights about me. The marsh.. that's right. I had come through this area last night and lay down for my feet had been aching from travel. Of course, I wasn't sure if I was in the lands of another or if I'd just run across another marsh, though this morning as I sat up it was almost as if I felt something was there with me. Maybe it was just me, or maybe it was that magically ominous feeling anyone ever got when they went to a marsh.. or at least I did.
Rising to my feet I gave a shake of my beautiful pelt, watching briefly as water was flicked everywhere and into the grass, a smug grin overtaking my features as I then slipped into a bow, letting the tendrils of my tail flow forth to tickle the backside of my spine. I was a little achy, but not so much that it stopped me from enjoying a good stretch. I groaned softly with enjoyment, for there was something about stretching that just felt so right, so wonderful, and that relaxed you so wonderfully after you were done. Stretching done and over, I looked back towards the rising sun, then tilted my head to my right as I peered up into the tree of which I'd been laying beneath, listening now to the birds as they sang their songs to each other. They never ceased to amaze me, for they were always so happy in the morning, as if they'd been born again and celebrating it, yet despite this I found it somewhat annoying. Back with my pack, I'd been allowed to sleep in, in the mornings until my mate came and woke me up, but now I found myself waking up even earlier, around five or so in the morning just as the sun was slitting upon the horizon, keeping the rest of the world cloaked in darkness, and it was all their fault.
But, complaining never got anyone anywhere, and I knew that if I didn't get to my feet and start looking about this place for what I'd set out to find, I'd never find it. Grumbling and complaining was wasting my time right now, and so I heaved a sigh, letting my plume rise to and flow over my back in its beautiful arc until I felt its feathery tendrils tickle my lower back. My parents had always told me to walk with pride no matter what and to never believe anyone's word if they said that I wasn't great or beautiful. I knew they were right, for I was everything that other girls could only dream of being. I was beautiful, proud, strong, smart, and so much more.
The grass rather moist between the thick pads of my paws, I watched the emerald blades of grass as I padded through the longer grass about the marsh, soon lifting my gaze to look upon the strange waters, staring at them thoughtfully before I looked all around me. This place was so beautiful, and yet I couldn't help but chuckle to myself because despite all the green around me, I must have stuck out like a sore thumb, being that I was white. I'd never been in such an open place unless I'd been surrounded by a pack, and so wandering about here in the open, without my packmates to guard and tend for, I felt strange. But I'd been travelling here for a reason. I was in search of an alpha, one that I'd heard was named Kerrigan.
I walked the water's edge, my gaze moving down to its waters that seemed to be black for the time being because the world had yet to grace it with light. I could see my reflection, and yet despite the beauty that I saw in the water, being myself, I still couldn't get my mind off of this... Kerrigan fellow. Pausing in my steps I realized that no matter how many times I circled this little flat of water, it wouldn't bring me any closer to Kerrigan, despite the fact that I liked looking down into their depths, and so I turned away from them and started down a trail I had spotted with my eyes. It was a small trail, and I figured that it had been made by wolves of smaller mass than myself. I wandered about fifteen feet down that trail until I stepped right into a sliver of light, pausing then as I looked ahead of myself thoughtfully. Who knew how many trails it could take for me to find this Kerrigan fellow, and with as much shade about here as ever, it might make it harder for me to spot him depending on what he looked like. My mouth twisted off to one side.. To keep going.. or to simply call for him and wait.. I was no Queen any more, but it seemed that it would be easier to call for him than to go looking for him. What to do... What to do..

he rumbled, his speech not unpleasant, but rather a low purr of a big cat. Odd for a wolf, maybe, but it fit him somehow. "Who, if ye doona min', be yew?"[/blockquote][/ul]

I was just about to continue on forward, to search the alpha out, a voice rang out that stopped me dead in my tracks. A bark. I stayed where I was and listened and sure enough, the canine that was coming closer continued to speak. I tilted my head as I listened. They had an accent, something I'd never heard in the voice of a wolf unless it was a Mexican wolf or some of the great wolves of Canada. But unlike those accents, this one was soothing, deep, handsome sounding. I unexpectedly caught myself liking it a lot. I watched as he prowled forward, seeing each and ever muscle of his ripple and rock beneath that handsome pelt of his and soon found myself captivated by his looks in itself. He was by all means, tall, dark, and handsome.. with such beautiful and captivating colorations. Green, such a lovely color, one that reminded me of the life that was just dancing all around us as we stood in this marsh, but then of course it reminded me of venom. He was large, at least half a foot larger than I was, but I didn't mind it at all. The tension that had been felt as I heard his woof all seemed to melt away the moment he spoke and introduced himself, soon asking me what my name was.
I swayed gently upon my tendons, my coat dancing about my silhouette gently from the motions, and I lifted my gaze to meet his own. Sure, you weren't supposed to ever meet the gaze of an alpha, but I was sure that he'd understand that I meant no challenge to him whatsoever. If I'd come to challenge him for his rank, I'd have attacked within the first few seconds I'd heard his woof. But having waited to hear what he had to say, I had no malice towards him. He'd come towards me calmly, and in return, I'd be just as civilized. "My name is Zephora..."
I told him, my snow-kissed ears of white flowing forward to harken to anything else he may say. He was different than I'd expected him to be. Sure, he was large of size, and he had sabre teeth as well as those captivating green markings, but for now he seemed to be rather nice. But then of course, things could go swirling in the other direction with just the bat of a lash, I knew and so kept my attention up. I couldn't help but be curious as to how long he'd been here, it was hardly the place I'd expected to find a wolfpack, for most liked dwelling in woods, mountains, and prairies.. that there was quite interesting. A marsh pack. Hmm... Stretching my right tendon forward I soon sauntered a circle about him just to see what he looked like before standing before him. If he wished to circle me as well, I found it to be quite fine for it was only fair. I'd only wanted to see what other markings he held upon him and get a better glimpse at the wolf of which I was standing with though. I wanted to remember every trait of his form and lock it to my memory so that if I ever saw him again, I'd be able to recognize him dead bang from even the top of a mountain. Memory of one's appearance had always come in handy when I'd been leading my pack, and had become a second instinct when it came to meeting someone. "These lands are beautiful, and I can tell they're well kept. A handsome male such as yourself deserves nothing but the best of lands, and it would seem that you have your own personal paradise in this Marshland." I said. And it was true, unlike the other marshlands that I'd been through, this one was absolutely beautiful. There wasn't a dingy feeling about it, but an air that smelled of life and brilliance. I couldn't help but wonder just how long I'd be staying in this area.. Would he allow me to live here if I asked it, or would I just have to pass on through? I looked back to him, giving a light wag of my beautifully curved tail that was arced over my back as usual. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

he said, repeating her name with a bit of a purr. His brogue distorted it, but it was easy to hear that it was indeed her name. He gave his fur a shake before settling again and watching her watch him. It was enjoyable to read her feelings in her eyes. And then she was moving, those thin, graceful forelegs moving with ease, followed by the shift of her weight as the back ones followed. He didn't move his head, but did let his eyes follow her around. And then back again when she resumed her spot in front of him. He flicked an ear back, lime eyes amused. She was such an enjoyable titbit, even now. He mused silently to himself a minute, judging her actions, making the connections. She was bold, and very sure of herself. Her stance was of a leader, not a follower. An alpha probably, from an old life before she came to this place called Aelyn. His keen gaze settled on her tail. Aye, he had little doubt of that. He was tugged out of his thoughts by her voice and he let his pools focus again. She was a flatterer. As the words finished a whiskey smooth laugh fled from his muzzle with glee. It rumbled like thunder, but not unkindly toward the female. His tail curled in pleasure and his teeth flashed. "Aye, a verra smoo'h talk'r ye are, tidbit," he murmured approvingly, flicking his ears comically. He cleared his throat, not even worrying that he'd annoy her since he shouldn't have to, and sat with a slight thump on the ground. It was dry, sort of, but Kerrigan had decided this meeting needed to be less formal, and he was tired of standing. He slid his tail slightly in a wag. "I be verra glad ye find it so nice. An' me so han'some," he said gallantly with a gleam in his clovered eyes, "No' many t'ink so anymore." He shrugged his large shoulders. He gave a slight frown but it slid away in seconds. It may have sounded like he didn't take this seriously, but the intelligence that shone out and the strength he exuded made it hard to find funny his behaviour. No Kerrigan didn't like the ritual greetings, but he wasn't stupid. He gave a glance at the brightening sky, liking the feel of warmth on his spine. He gave a brief thought to Lucy, and then to Lydia, but let it float at the edge of him mind. He would always be watchful of them, but Zephora was his business now, and he'd give her all of himself for now. He twitched his lime nose at her. "We ne'er get wo'ves out 'ere. Or so it feels. I be surprised one as lovely as ye hae made it so fer south. Us'lly t'e nurthern alpha takes anyone werth gettin'," he offer, tilting his head. It was a question of where she was from, hidden in polite talk. Wonder if she'd catch it.[/ul][/blockquote]

He'd spoken that I was a smooth talker, but to be quite honest, I'd been gien no reason to speak smoothly to him. to be quite honest, I liked him for the time being. He'd given me no reason whatsoever to be hostile or mean or snappish. But then of course, the fact that he was the most handsome and beautifully powerful looking creature I'd ever laid my eyes on, helped out a lot too I suppose. True, he had intimidating looks to some, but to me.. something about him just made me feel at home. I wasn't sure if it was his accent or not, but whatever it was, I liked it.
I sauntered forward to come and sit closer to him. We'd exchanged names and seemed to get along, so there was no reason to keep the far distance anymore. Besides, I'd rather just speak to him rather than raise my voice over a few feet. He'd not hurt me, I could smell it on him. He had a good head on his shoulders and would only harm those that asked for it. I seated myself easily upon the ground, a soft smile found upon my maw as I gazed back at him. "I come from the mountains." I told him as he asked where I was from in a casual manner. "And though I'm used to the cool air up there, it does feel rather lovely to be in a nice place such as this where it's warmer." I told him as my plume flowed along the ground only to curl its tip about my ankle.
“How long have you been leading here?" I asked, naturally curious as to how long he'd held reign over such a paradise. " What would you say if I chose to make this place my new home...?” I asked him. I wanted to know what he'd think.. how he'd react. Would he welcome me? I was sure he was, but still... I was curious. I'd never really been one to settle down and stay in a place, but this place.... no matter how different it was, along with his presence, made it feel like home. As if the songs that the frogs chirped, the dancing vines of the willows, as well as the scent, were all something I'd encountered in a dream before. And to be quite honest.. they were.
I'd been running through the forest as if I'd been chasing something. All around me it was dark, but ahead of me I kept seeing flashes of green shortly before they ducked into the shadows. Laughter.. I heard it and it was like fine music to my ears, urging me to continue onwards and continue to pursue this beast of which ran ahead of me. He was probably one hundred feet in front of me when he paused and turned his head to glance back at me. And that's when I saw them. Those beautiful emerald eyes.. and I heard him call my name, telling me to come. The way my name rolled off of his tongue was enough to cause me to feel dizzy as if I were drunk.. but for once in my life I knew what the feeling was. I was in love. He was calling me.. I had to come to him.. I wasn't going to run away. I wanted to be with him. I felt no fear, for I knew he'd never let any harm befall me. He was mine and I was his...
But strange enough, that dream had come to me when I'd first left my pack behind to be a loner. I knew myself to be a philiophobic though, so I always ran away from love. But the way that his voice had purred my name, the comfort I saw in his eyes and heard in his voice, made me feel --- no, know, that everything was going to be alright. I remembered those green eyes, and for once since I'd been sitting here with the handsome alpha, I lifted my gaze and locked it with his own as I stared back to his eyes. I wondered to myself, could he be the wolf that was in my dream? No.. surely not. It was a childish things.. Yes, dreams may be a wish your heart makes when you're asleep.. But that doesn't mean that all of them come true.. However, even if he wasn't the wolf I'd seen all those nights, running through my dream in the dead of night.. I still wanted to be his friend.

he rumbled, voice smooth as good whiskey and just as hot. His muzzle curled into a very, very, large grin. Coming on to you? No...Not at all. He snorted a laugh mentally at that thought. "Aye, I ken tha' much," he murmured in a softer, lazier tone. Well, she'd started it. She...whispered to him. Not with thought or with voice...but with body. It sounded like a line a stalker would use, but Kerrigan wasn't big on saying things he didn't really mean to those he'd taken a vast liking too. And she, for better or for worse, had seized his attention and now he'd run with it.[/blockquote][/ul]

My tail flowed behind me gently as he spoke in that handsome voice of his that he'd not force me to go. He might as well have asked me to stay, not that it would have stopped me, but I now knew that this was to be my home..And yet at the same time, I realized that wherever he went would be my home as well. It felt so weird. I wasn't one to get attached easily, let alone give others the time of day to just talk to me without blowing them off and being on my way, but this Kerrigan.. He was something else. When I was around him I felt like I could let my guard down to an extent, like I could relax.
Finally I rose to my feet yet again. I couldn't stay here in this one place. I was starting to get a lil.. woozy. But maybe it was just the fact that I'd gotten a bit entranced and lost in those eyes of his. He truly was the most handsome and beautiful male I'd ever laid eyes upon, and as soon as I thought that.. I wondered... I wondered how many other females had thought the same thing when they'd met him. Truly he must be beating them off with a fly swatter or something, for he had it all. He had the accent, the tones, the grace, along with the charm and natural beauty and rank.. I tilted my head faintly as my wings then tucked back against my spine, an almost shy smile seen upon my facade. "Kerrigan, would you do me the honor of giving me a tour of your favorite place in these beautiful lands of yours?" I asked him.
And with that said, I stepped back from him slightly, though I didn't take a full stride back. Why? I wasn't sure. Usually I liked to give them more room, but with him.. again, it was different. I didn't want to be too far away from him. I wanted to be right at his side; it was like that's where I belonged and my inner wolf knew it. I didn't understand what was going on with myself, but with a gentleman such as Kerrigan about, I knew I was in safe hands. I'd met him not even an hour ago, yet it felt like I'd known him my whole life.. Was that how it was supposed to be? I wasn't sure.. was he? Was he feeling the same way?

by him. He had to stop a sly, pleased smirk from roaming across his muzzle. That territory was not open for the moment, but damn did his jowl give a slight twitch before buckling under his will. The fact she found him that appealing - for she had to, considering the look in her amber eyes and her scent which he wasn't going into - made his skin feel twitchy and tinkling. A weird feeling, but not unpleasant. Just...different. He'd had a feeling near it when he'd met Aures Un. That shimmer of excited, apprehension, and a deep feeling of right. A mix and scurry of emotions that his body language couldn't convey all at once so it stayed still. He watched her rise to her feet, and bounced onto his as she wobbled. But she caught her balance before he was even needed and he tilted his head curiously at her. Her question had his lime spotted eyebrows rising. No one had asked him that either. His back legs took the brunt of his weight as he hoped up, his head tilted in a rough, vibrating laugh, front paws off the ground for precious seconds before setting back to earth with a splash. His ears flopped as he held still again, legs braced against the ground stiffly. "Full o' surprises ye are!" he woofed, the pleasant burr making his tones rumble. His tail curled over his back in a very odd gesture, but it swished behind him in a slow, steady wave. He didn't explain the statement to her. It was his own little thoughts. Everyone who joined the pack just...went off. They didn't ask a tour, and they didn't ask for his favorite place, that was for sure. His tongue rolled out, the bright lime appendage appearance from his white teeth. A flash over his muzzle, then gone again. "Aye, an' I will enjoy i'," he murmured, giving into the urge and bounding to her side, long legs making the short distance just a leap away, and nudged his muzzle into her furry shoulder. Her scent was stronger here and he huffed out a breath at it, deciding that mentioning how he liked it would be considered rude before trotting forward a few feet. The lime underside of his tail flashed as he waved it briefly to gesture her forward. "Come come, Zephora. A wee leng'h we need ta go. Camp firs' since i' is dry an' where ye will spen' mos' o' yer day," he said, blinking his cat-like orbs at her. He was excited to show her, weirdly so. It was too strong to be normal and he gave her a quiet look, wondering if she had any of the same. He brushed it off, pretty sure that if she didn't, he could spark her interest. Z e p h o r a My plume dipped and danced behind me in a happy and excited manner as if it had a mind of its own as Kerrigan rose to his feet and moved to stand beside me. His nose nuzzled into my shoulder and I giggled, lightly lashing my soft and pink tongue across his forehead. My ears splayed lightly as I'd done so, but I then smiled and gave a flick of my tail, ready to follow his lead. And lead me he did, my paws taking to a beat of their own as I followed him quite willingly. I felt excited and happy, along with curious as to where he'd take me.
"Come come, Zephora. A wee leng'h we need ta go. Camp firs' since i' is dry an' where ye will spen' mos' o' yer day," soothed the lyrics of his handsome voice as he looked back at me with those beautiful eyes of his. I picked up my frontal paws for a moment and bound forward in a bit of a prance, letting my plume dance behind me freely as I looked back at him, soon wandering up till I was shoulder to shoulder with him, my gait matching his own so we were in perfect step with each other. Some wolves might have been a bit on edge about being shown to a new place with a new strange acquaintance, but something down in my gut told me that it was perfectly safe for me to go with him. It was Kerrigan. Whatever that meant, I was sure I'd figure it out. We'd figure it out.
He'd spoken of camping since it was try and where I'd spend most of my day and I instantly grew even more curious. The place that I stood in with him right now was beautiful, but I wondered if this was his hidden paradise he was taking me to. "I can hardly wait to see it." I told him with another fine sweep of my tail, my ears flowing forward into a perk, my wings remaining lax upon my back as I travelled with him. From time to time though, I found myself glancing over at him. It was out of curiosity as well, for I wondered what he was thinking as he walked. But soon enough I'd look ahead of myself again and keep going.

she'd just licked him. Actually, he mused, he'd rather she'd share her affection with him that way. His ears suddenly flicked down, and the lime of his body flushed a slightly darker color at his thoughts. He pushed away those rather...ungentlemanly thoughts and stepped through the marsh water that surrounded his paws. Her hopping to his side with such blind trust had him smiling down at her happily, teeth gleaming white and bright. Then she did something completely odd. Up on her back paws she went, prancing forward like a show pony. Her soft, fluffy tail caught his attention and he felt the crazy urge to take it in his mouth and tug. His smile turned sly, but he didn't give in to that urge either (strangely he was having a bunch of bad behavior running through his head) and slid his paws into a lope. She matched him, keeping up though he hadn't checked his steps yet. He watched her legs, his neck slightly arched to watch. Faster movements yes, but not by much. Her dainty size - well really dainty compared to him - belied her easy grace over the terrain. She just fit. The marsh water didn't seem to mess with her stride at all and he stopped watching for her to stumble and concentrated on getting to the camp. He could feel her gaze on him every so often, but he didn't comment, rather proud she wanted to look at him. Stupid, egotistical feeling, but there it was. He could see the edge that marked the huge hunk of soil, and his legs sped up even as Zephora spoke again. He turned his attention to her now, his mane fur bouncing to his movements even as his strides lengthened. It took him a second to notice the change, but he clipped the pace down when he had, giving Zephora an apologetic glance. But they had reached their goal, or rather his since he was leading her, and he slid to a stop, paws making small splashing sounds as he stopped in front of what must look like a meter tall wall of dirt. But it was slopped and the place was worn front many paws and claws. "We all live 'ere. Dens and such. 'His is 'he bes' place fer a den ou' 'ere. 'Dry land makes a difference sometime'," he told her, the last bit of his words flicking out of his gentle brogue. They sounded frankly normal, which probably meant he was mocking someone. Not that it showed on his maw. He bounded forward and up the slope, dirt spilling out from under his paws until he reached the top. He peered down at his slight bit of height and jerked his head. "Come on up, Zephora. Ye've a den ta pick ou'," he murmured, burr firmly back in place again.[/blockquote][/ul]

I smiled as he slowed his pace, casting an apologetic glance to me. I quickly loped up alongside of him, not minding the water at all, if anything, it felt good right now. Yes, it may dirty my coat, but that's what baths were for. I came up alongside of him with a swish of my plume, letting my coat brush against his, the ivory tendrils mixing and dancing with the onyx and cool green coloration of his own pelt. I then looked on ahead to realize that we were where we were supposed to be. I smiled again, looking around with my golden eyes, simply taking the sight in.
So this was the denning area. I stared up at the wall of dirt, looking back to Kerrigan then as he scaled the slope with what looked to be the greatest of ease. I Soon lifted my paws and took to climbing it as well, letting my talons tear into the dirt, keeping my wings tucked to my back so that they'd not throw me off balance. My gaze however, remained upon my goal, Kerrigan. One paw before the other, I made my way up the slope until it was at his side that I stood. Once there, I gave a pleased swish of my tail, looking about at the site around us then. "I love it here. Where do you think my den should be? I can't decide." I said at last, casting a glance towards Kerrigan.
And it was true. Out of all these dens, how was I supposed to make up my mind. They all looked comfortable, and I could easily settle in any one of them. I then sauntered about Kerrigan in a circle, looking around us at all the dens. The sight was unlike anything I'd ever seen.. So beautiful, yet rugged and wild, with a kiss of serenity. It was perfect. I turned my gaze back to Kerrigan and perked my ears, letting my plume's tip flick as it then tickled the base of my spine.

He watched her with worried orbs, waiting for her to join him. But he shouldn't have bothered. She got up the side like a pro. Not like it was that tall but the earth was loose...and soft. He scowled mentally. He could worry if he wanted to. And no, he didn't have to make excuses in his own head. He snorted under his breath, lime nostrils flaring slightly. He swept his tail to the side and stepped back to give her space, not wanting his bulk to force her back down the incline. He pricked his ears, wanting to know - strangely nervous at that - what she thought of his camp. Sure it wasn't the best ever, but he liked it and it was very quiet. That silence he couldn't wait to dispel! He wanted squealing pups and barking laughs and the murmur of others to echo throughout. But for now it was quiet and he would have to accept that.
He sent a covert, musing glance to Zephora, hopefully when she wasn't looking. She'd make lovely pups... his mind whispered and he angled his ears back and looked away fast. If he'd been able to he'd be the color of a tomato. Or Lydia's markings. But his audits didn't stay down long as the female spoke again. Bouncing up enthusiastically he took in her words but didn't process them very fast. What? He was supposed to actually block out her soft tones to hear words? Puh-lease. But he gave his head a shake and loped forward through the rows of tall bushes and into the half circle of boulders and trees. Roots thrust out of the earth around and between those giant rocks, leaving entrances under the earth. He sniffed a moment beside his own den before moving to the one beside his own. Oh so slick. "Wha' 'bout 'his one?" he barked, flailing his tail in a wag.
It wasn't connected to his...in theory. He blinked at her, the perfect image of innocents on his face though his eyes gleamed and betrayed that he had some secret flopping around in his mind. Cheeky devil he was he really hoped she'd choose this one. Or the one on the other side. He lowered his muzzle and snuffled again. It didn't smell musty, and he was sure he could find some soft lichen or moss or something if it was bare inside. He lifted a foot and then set it back down in a fidgety movement. He had the oddest urge that if she didn't like it he'd dig it out until she did. Huh. How odd.

I grinned softly as I looked up at him, finding the way that he looked at me to be a look that I liked. But how could one not like the way he looked at them with those beautiful green eyes of his? Soon enough he was moving along, his paws carrying him about until he found me a den and offered it. I smiled as I padded closer to him rather slowly, looking to the entrance of teh den. I lowered my nose and took a few sniffs, but finding nothing distasteful I glanced up to Kerrigan before i then looked back down into the den. Then, one step at a time, I climbed on down its slope and into it. It had looked to be a lot smaller from the outside, and I hadn't been sure I'd be able to slip inside, yet here I found myself halfway in and my wings were still free of brushing the walls.
It was dark at first but as my eyes adjusted their amber vision picked up the details of the inside of this den. It was smooth walled and nice and deep as well so that if I left it when I had pups.. -- Wait, what was I thinking? Pups? Me? Well.. it was a rather nice thought to have pups in such a homey and safe feeling place.. -- they'd not be able to leave the den until they were old enough.
Finally making it to the bottom of the den I then sniffed the bed, finding that it was bare, nothing beneath my paws to have for something soft to sleep on. But that would be fixed soon enough, for I'd probably use a deer or rabbit hide to cover the ground and make it comfortable. All in all the den was excellent and as I sat down I looked back towards the tunnel that lead to outside, wondering if Kerrigan was going to come in or not. Probably not. Rising to my feet I gave a swish of my tail. "Kerrigan, I love it.. Come on in and see." I said with a smile, stepping back then as I waited for him to come to me.

He curled his tail around a leg and smiled at her softly, giving a sort toss of his head toward the den in encouragement. His paws gave a short prance upon the ground before his long plume rolled out again and set to wagging. He was nervous. The feeling rolled around in his gut and he forced a low whine back down his throat. He shouldn't care what she thought of the camp. He didn't care what the other loners thought when he brought them to this place. He liked it, and they had decided to become part of the pack, so they would live here. But he was Zephora to love it, and to be comfortable. His mug slid open as she moved past him to the den. Her fur brushed the tip of his nose and he got a shot of her scent, something that went straight to is head. His tongue lolled out, the lime flesh a glow in both anticipation and worry as she slid into the entrance of the den.
He forced himself to sit on the ground, but his thighs gave a quiver and he bounced back up again. He peered into the cavern and watched her white form slip further in before totally disappearing from his sight before he stepped back and waited for her judgement. He knew very well that he was overreacting and acting like a total dolt, but it couldn't be helped. He licked his muzzle with a slap of his tongue before drawing it back inside and closing his neon mug with a snap of teeth. And then he remembered - again - that there was no bedding down there. His muscles gave a twitch, a sudden, unnatural urge that wanted him to give her everything she needed. When her voice floated back to him he gave a sigh of relief before calling back. "I be pleased, Zeph. I will join ye 'n a minute," he said, softly so as not to provide a clashing echo. His burr was still made larger by the walls, but he was already bounding off on his new found mission.
The large wolf bolted to the left, down his own den and drug up a pelt. He had two, one was older, fully dry and softer from use, and that was the one he tugged out from under his own pile of moss and bedding. He left a mess in his own den, but Zephora didn't need to know that. He peered down further into his den but decided not to bark at her through the thin wall of dirt he could probably shove his muzzle through and shot back into the camp. He claws had left a few scratches on the rock as he turned around and tugged the large mountain goat pelt out the rest of the way and then turned to push himself into Zephora's den. He gave a grunt, noticing that he was a bit tall for this. A few feet, and he was able to stand again and he trotted through the familiar tunnel system to where the white winged stood. He shoved the bedding forward and gave her a lopsided, almost sheepish grin. "Though' ye'd like i' be'er wi'h a bi' o' beddin', aye?"

I looked up with a perk of my ears then as I heard Kerrigan's voice ring back to me that he was pleased that I liked it. I gave a swish of my tail, grinning then as I looked about myself one last time, circling around as I looked at the things about me. As I came back to face the entrance though, there he was standing with a pelt in his maw, telling me that he thought I'd like it better with some bedding. Such a sweet gesture. Stepping forward once I lowered my head only to snatch up the hide, stepping back then as I lay it out over the ground. It was so soft and dry, but smelled like the wild, the forest, the swamp.. but most of all it smelled like Kerrigan.
I stretched it out over the ground, nudging its folded over corners here and there before brushing my maw over it to smooth it out. Satisfied with it, I backed away from it, turning back upon my heels then to face Kerrigan. As I did though, I opened my eyes in surprise, in the midst of beginning a sentence, for I'd found that the cool tip of my nose had touched to his own, my muzzle resting lightly to his own. I tugged my head back with a nervous splay of my ears, letting my gaze flicker to the ground to my right as I chuckled softly and swished my tail. "Oh.. excuse me. Sorry about that, Kerry'.." I said, then catching the fact that I'd called him a pet name. I cleared my throat softly, perking my ears again as I dared to look back into those eyes of his again. “Ahem, I mean... Kerrigan."
There was a silence about us for a moment as I stared back at him, and I could tell that if my coat had been any thinner he'd be able to see that my cheeks had flushed with bright red coloration. I just hoped to God that he really couldn't see how I felt through my cheeks. I was embarrassed and kind of feeling bashful for a moment, but soon brushed it aside only to step back onto the pelt as I lowered my haunches and sat down upon it, stroking it with a paw curiously. "It's very comfortable. Thank you." I said, glancing back up at him with a look of my golden eyes, my plume trailing the ground behind me and lightly thumping the pelt I now sat upon.

he murmured, leaning back to watch her with strong eyes. He flicked his ears forward, as if waiting for her reaction before he tilted forward to swipe her nose with his tongue. And randomly, a boyish grin stretched his jowls and he lifted an eyebrow comically. He was serious, yet playful, wanting her to relax but to know he wanted her to consider him.[/blockquote][/ul]

I'd never been treated with such love and care before. Even my former mate hadn't gone through what this handsome and charming male was going through, just to make me feel at home. And he was doing a good job of it too. Even with my flaw of kissing him and then right after calling him a pet name.. he still made me feel at home. His cool nose pressing into the silky tendrils of my mane, I relaxed as I heard his voice in my ear telling me that he'd like it if I called him Kerry. My gaze seemed to go distant as I listened to the beautiful sound of his voice, and for once in my life I noticed that despite the fact that he was intimate... I didn't feel threatened, scared or want to run away.
I closed my eyes lightly as I let my face gently turn to nuzzle into the soft texture of his coat, their lids lifting as I noticed that his coat was of brilliant lime colors. Those colors seemed to dance, catching me in a brief trance that was broken as he leaned back from me. His tongue swept along my lips not long after and just the look he gave me caused my heart to melt and my blush to worsen. "Mm'... Kerry.." I murmured quietly before I stepped closer to him then, letting myself lean into him gently as my head settled upon his shoulder.
In my days of travelling, and my period of life, I'd never run into such a charming gentleman.. but now that I had met one, I couldn't see myself leaving his side for the life of me. I turned my head and lightly nuzzled into his neck, drawing in a breath as I took back in that wonderful scent of his again before I lifted my head and let my tongue run along his cheek before I nuzzled it as well. This felt right, and despite my past record of fleeing when someone expressed feelings.. I wasn't about to run away this time. Nope, I was here to stay for good. My tail swept along the ground a few times before relaxing at my ankles, and as I rest against Kerrigan all my tension and embarrassment was swept away. I didn't have to be embarrassed, for it was just Kerrigan and I now. I wondered to myself though, just how close Kerrigan and I's relationship would be, but kept the thought to myself for now.

true affection - for a long time. Even since his pack had been destroyed all those years ago, he had longed for comfort and the soft touch of another. It was a secret want, something he would never tell anyone, but he did so want for it. He had missed the closeness to another wolf. Sure he had packmates but he could hug them or offer sympathy. Lucy was a pup still, and he had to act cheerful to keep the blind youngsters hopes up. Lydia would laugh at him. Nothing but a strong leader would keep her within his pack or following his lead. And as alpha he shouldn't want a gentle paw, but he couldn't help it. He gave a low sound that would have gone unnoticed by anyone but Zephora, as close as she was. Her low murmured words and her nuzzling had his ears lowering before he turned with an almost startling speed and burrowed his muzzle into her neck fur. One paw slid between her front legs and held him stable even as he pressed is weight against her own. A small weak point, enough so that he didn't move, just murmured nonsense in his lilted rhythm to this female who he'd just met. He couldn't understand why he'd let her to close so fast. It hadn't even been a day and he was clinging to her with all his might. He drew in a shaky breath against her lush peltage and his lime tongue slid along her jaw bone, a soft caress that was anything but just friendly. He tail curled around his rump and said end sidle closer so they were right next to one another. Her wing fluttered over his back as he nudged his head over her own and settled the square façade onto the back of her neck. His sudden want for contact had to have surprised and shock the wolfess, but he couldn't stop himself even as he curled one black paw around her white one. She was was bright, so different from him. So much better. It was a random thought, but he didn't ponder it before latching onto another one. Her pelt was soft and warm, her body giving beneath his. His eyes slid closed, his ears slipping down his skull to hang listlessly. And then he was still, and his glowing faded away and his markings stilled. Even he had no idea what was going on. Not that he noticed that anything was happening, he was too absorbed with Zephora.[/ul][/blockquote]

All at once I felt his presence fully surround me as his arm held me close like a dear lover, his soft voice being taken in by my delicate ears as I closed my eyes. Something about his voice, his scent, his presence, and the feel of him, washed my cares away like a drawing in the sand after the water's brushed forth and back on it only to leave it blank and smooth again. His coat, so soft and his body, so warm, was now fully pressed to my own and I gladly pressed back into him gently, wanting to be ever closer to him as well. I could sit like this forever with ease, and the longer I did so, the louder my heart screamed to me that I loved him. But how could that be? I'd only just met him today, and yet... at the same time I felt that I knew it was true. Perhaps there was so such thing as love at first sight... Sure, we'd need to get to know each other, but we'd have plenty of time for that.
Time. It's all I had now. Now that I had a pack with my darling Kerrigan, if I dared say that much. I knew he'd want to know much about me, just as much as I'd want to know about him, but that was okay. I wasn't used to falling in love, let alone so fast, but with Kerrigan I knew I'd be okay. He could ask me questions to his heart content and I could do the same for him, or we could simply learn by being about each other. Either way, it didn't matter. I knew our bond would only grow stronger than it already was as I sat there nestled in his embrace. Secretly my heart cooed "Don't ever let me go... stay with me forever.." and it was a call I'd never experienced before, but it didn't cause me any unease. It was true. I didn't want him to let me go, not now or ever.
His gaze met my eyes as his tongue glided along my jaw, drawing out a soft groan of content from my voicebox. I shifted my feet a bit, for it felt as if with the puddle that my heart had turned into within my chest, their support may give out on me. Soft chuckle drifted past my vocals and I glided my tongue along his soft muzzle before tilting my head back, my lip tugging back faintly as I nibbled the base of his ear in a gentle manner before nuzzling it, soon finding my muzzle buried back in the lusciously soft texture of his mane. "May I stay with you forever?" came soft lyrics from my lips, and though I hadn't known them before I spoke them.. I knew that they'd been the right words I'd wished to speak by the time they'd left my mouth. I glanced up to Kerrigan with a soft smile, my plume drifting along the ground a bit as one of my paws rest atop of his own.
